    So couture
Love this show! Every night when I’m listening to music, I want to be listening to this, but one problem you need to make a history of Coco Chanel!!!

    Beautiful !!
I looved your two episodes on Kimonos , so informative and transporting , even though I haven’t seen the images yet , it was a visual , cultural (and important) burst of knowledge and understanding , loved it , and as your guest would describe it : “really really” fantastic!! ❤️🌸🥰

These podcasts have great content but the host regularly mispronounce commonly used words in English vernacular. It makes them sounds like they don’t know what they are talking about. Get a fact checker or just listen to how words are pronounced on Google.

    J’Adore with One Irritating Drawback
This used to be one of my favorite podcasts. A wide variety of interesting topics, and so well researched; I have learned so much. However, the constant sometimes smug sounding giggling, it’s incredibly annoying. I thought perhaps it was nerves, in the early seasons, but you’re now into season 7 I believe; it seems to have only gotten worse. You’re both laughing at the most inappropriate/random times; I don’t understand it. It comes across at worst, disrespectful to your guest and the subject matter and at best makes you sound like vapid mean girls. I know you’re both very intelligent woman who are very enthusiastic about your subject matter, but I’m not sure I can keep listening. April: “Also too”. ?! Come on!! Go back to English 101.

    Fabulous show.

    Fashion footnotes
This podcast has made it so I can think more about fashion in all different ways. It is like adding information footnotes to what you wear.

Perfect for history nerds, fashion lovers, & generally curious people
Obviously a must-listen if you’re into fashion, but even if you’re not interested in runways and designers, Dressed is a fascinating listen. It’s really more about interesting people, backstories about items you never really even thought about (but probably wear all the time), and hidden gem stories. April and Cassidy do a great job of covering diverse stories and people, all over the world, in all areas of dress/fashion, from throughout history to today. Always a delight!

    Obsessed with dressed!
I love this podcast. The episode on the Generation Paper show at the Phx Art Museum, the episode with Tim Gunn and the one on Lady Di were among my favorite listens. Keep up the good work, I learn so much and in such a fun format!

    Content is often great!
Other reviewers have complained about the hosts’ poor presentation skills, but I believe they have improved a lot over the years—so kudos, April Calahan and Cassidy Zachary! I don’t listen to every podcast, but when I do, I’m impressed by the knowledge and passion these two women have for fashion, history, and culture. Here are a few words to the critics: (A) Try to see past your problems with the hosts’ delivery—you’ll be rewarded with great content. (B) So you don’t like the topic of each and every show? Well, tough. Do you know how hard it is to come up with content every week? The topics may not all be up your alley, but they’re well-researched. (C) Sure the ads are annoying, but you’re getting this podcast for FREE, so live with it. (D) I haven’t heard anything “political” on this podcast, but I know that April and Cassidy are concerned about the environment, and I’m with them on that. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, APRIL

    Dry Mouth In Podcast Host
One of the host constantly has dry mouth and it is the most annoying sound on the planet if you’re listening to podcasts! Have a drink of water! Take some meds!! I wish I could listen to this podcast, but alas. I can not.
  • Drmlsherwood
    Love this!
LOVE this podcast. The topics are fascinating and the hosts are clearly experts. This is a Don't Miss for fashion-lovers and historians. Thanks Ladies.

    Amazing!!!
I love all things fashion, so I was very excited to find this! LOVE IT!!!
  • itsjusttu
Great podcast, but “minorably” is not a word.
Love this podcast and its hosts. I’ve learned so much. I’m really just here to ask why they continue to reuse the ad where she says “minorably obsessed with makeup”. I love every episode but an irked when the ad replays!
  • JungleRedNYC
    RIGHT???
This podcast is incredible!! The hosts are so knowledgable and I LOVE the guests as well! I was fascinated by the 2 part series on Black Dandyism with Monica L. Miller. She knows her subject but unfortunately she added the comment “Right?” to nearly every statement she made; often multiple times in one sentence. I am aware this is a common slang term yet it was so distracting I struggled to not stop listening :/

Podcast is great, ads are excruciating.
This podcast is lovely-interesting, informative, wide ranging. The ads, which I assume are mostly the decision of the network not the hosts, are atrocious and a direct contradiction of all of the show’s efforts to push fashion forward. Plastic surgery ads, diet products etc.-it’s a bit of whiplash compared to the content of the show and pretty distracting.

Love your show, please cover Ann Lowe
Also loved the true crime mashup, more please and thank you!

    Fun and informative
This podcast is wonderful. It is educational, fun and informative. I appreciate all of the hard work that goes into researching and preparing for each episode. I love examining how fashion is woven through out the history, culture and politics of different eras. My only critique is the overuse of the word “like” - very distracting.
  • Carolinnnneann
    So informative and entertaining!
Wow do I love this podcast. I didn’t anticipate an audio form would be able to celebrate fashion in such a vibrant way! I love hearing about the history behind different styles and trends, hearing from experts, and learning more and more about how deeply integrated fashion is with so many other aspects of our life, world, and history. Thanks for such a quality podcast that I look forward to each episode!
  • ari lehman
fascinating, but a little too scripted
i love this podcast first and foremost. i think the content is very in depth and interesting. but i have some constructive criticism: in my opinion, the dialogue sounds stiff. kind of like reading from a text book. if you could talk more casually the podcast would definitely be easier to follow. but that’s just a suggestion! take it or leave it AND. i can’t believe what jerks people are being in here, criticizing your “upspeak” and calling you things like “grating”. women don’t have to talk a certain way in order to be respected. for heavens sake!

    Distracting voices
I think this is a good well researched podcast. But I keep trying to listen and find the hosts voices hard to listen to. I think maybe a different voice to present the subject matter ? You might have more listeners

Good but sometimes hard to listen to
This is a wonderful podcast if you are interested in fashion. My only complaint is one of the host’s voice can sounds like she has dry mouth and could use some water. I am sensitive to sounds and voices so this might not be a big deal to most. Otherwise highly recommend!
  • Riveting.rosie
    A favorite
Absolutely love this podcast! One thing to note which I’m not even sure the hosts have control over: I was sooo disappointed to hear a weight loss ad (sono bello I think it’s called?) on the pod this week. Kind of threw me off my game a little. There are actually too many ads in general for my taste but they’re normally not upsetting to me like that. But, i still kept listening, which shows you how much I like it!

Wanted to like it but ad volume ruins it
The topic is interesting, the hosts seem to be well informed, but I listen to podcasts to wind down before sleep and found that the placement, type, and volume of the ads were too distracting
  • Lusy4077
    Slow decline
I loved it at first, but the hosts sound so ignorant sometimes that it distracts from the information. And lately it seems to be veering off fashion topics. I love that they discuss the world (politics, culture, etc) around the fashion, that is needed and super cool. But episodes seem like 80% "how did our guest become a designer" and then 20% actual information on the topic they're supposed to discuss.
  • Billfish1
    Entertaining and enlightening
I used to think fashion was stupid, wasteful, and supercilious. Not since listening to this! Now I see it as a lens for viewing the entire culture, plus having a lot to do with women’s culture and the history of women, if that makes sense. Love it. On “aggrievedness” - maybe I’m a member of an aggrieved class, but I very, very much value and appreciate and am fascinated by their podcasts that deal with fashion leaders who were also enslaved people, their interviews and discussions with and about fashion leaders in the African-American community, interviews with eco-conscious fashion types. It makes me feel good and fills in missing history and raises interesting points to consider, as well as being every bit as upbeat, entertaining, and about fashion as anything else they do.

    Best Fashion podcast!
Fashion history was my favorite subject in college. This is like studying all over again only with your best friends. Thank you ladies for feeding my obsession with fashion & history.❤️

    Don’t Become a Political Farse
The 2018 and 2019 series are phenomenal, before the predictably politically driven agenda of 2020 takes over every facet of discussion. Noe sadly more predictably lecturing than enlightening

    Great guests
This is an excellent show! The hosts are delightful and very knowledgeable. Their guests are always interesting. I’m hardly a fashionista, but really enjoy this informative show. After all…we all get dressed.

One of the Best Vehicles to Explore History
I love April and Cassidy’s enthusiasm. Every episode finds a new tidbit in Women’s History that would normally be overlooked. I’m grateful for the work they do.

    This is great

    Be neutral politically please
Topics don't need your opinion ladies. Update your knowledge of Womens reproductive rights. There are 2 sets of DNA involved there, hence 2 separate beings. Seems like a choice of convenience to half of us if it's viable
  • Syrenmuse
    More advert than content
I get it. You need to monetize a podcast but holy crud this Halloween episode was more advert than content. I am truly disappointed in where this podcast has gone both in the actual content provided and the excess of advertising.
  • Hypnotist Collector
    Unprofessional hosts
Great guests, interesting content. Unfortunately hosts are sing-songy, unprofessional, use leading questions, giggle, too many likes and ums and cliches and upspeak. More interested in impressing the guests than conducting an intelligent interview that lets the guest shine and informs the audience.

    ON POINT!
The best fashion podcast out there, especially if you’re planning a career in fashion.

    Fashion & Grievance Studies
A recent derailment into SJW drivel and revisionist history has made this podcast un-listenable. The latest podcast on reviewing frontier history through the lens of non-binary gender, a concept that didn’t exist at the time, did me in. This used to be my favorite podcast, and I truly miss the research in history & art history that once framed each episode — it has since taken a deep dive into the grievance studies.

First if all I want to be a fashion designer or stylist when I grow up I like this podcast, I recommend this podcast to anyone who ❤️s fashion👗
  • Old Man Beans
    I wholeheartedly recommend!
I'm not involved in fashion as a career or anything, but I've always been interested. I heard about this podcast on another one I listen to a while back and now that I'm caught up, I feel comfortable reviewing it. I've learned so much that ties in to other topics. This is one of the more inclusive podcasts I listen to. The hosts of Dressed do a wonderful job of teaching and not shying away from the issues of the fashion industry.

If you love history and fashion this is the place!
I have been listening for two years now and I love it. Great host and great content. They get amazing guests and cover a wide range of fashion and fashion history topics.

    Too many commercials
There are far too many commercials, and some of them are much louder than the rest of the content. I shouldn’t have to jump out of my skin and race for the volume control while listening to a podcast.
