    Season 4 Episode 5 missing 🙄
Season 4 episode 5 is the wrong audio. The whole episode is missing. Bummer.

    Sort of Okay
I enjoyed parts of the retelling of the events and see the descriptions of the case. I felt it only skimmed the surface and gave up things that were already known to last of us from reading accounts or watching documentaries. It’s definitely not worth a subscription, especially when so much free content is available on other podcasts of the same caliber. Everything has a subscription now, and it makes it difficult to keep up with the accounting, not to mention the aggregate expense.

Good but not one of the best
The story could have been told more clearly and easier to follow. It was confusing at times to where I’d rewind to see if I missed something. Also, for being such a notorious story, and with a lot of info out there, I would have expected this series to be more compelling. It didn’t really peak my interest or draw me in, yet was interesting enough to where I listened to all the episodes. But I can’t say I would have if I found something more intriguing to listen to.

    I have to pay??
Yeah I’m not paying to listen, there’s other stuff to listen to just as good. You’re not doing anything earth shattering

    Good but not great
I listen to podcasts & audiobooks daily. And I love Wondery True Crime productions typically. However, I had to rewind episodes of this show just to fully understand at times. The flipping in narrator, place in time and character can get a bit confusing at times. Especially when not having an “anchor”. The story is great though.

    Must pay to listen
You can listen to two episodes and you will need to pay for the rest. Thank, but I was content with ads in my podcast. I already know the story so I was not learning anything new. I guess I will move on. Lost a listener.

    Crazy story but true
I listen to a lot of podcasts and this one really stands out for its storytelling and production quality. The back and forth between the two stories/timelines is sometimes confusing, particularly towards the end when the two begin to converge, but the writing is top-notch and really captures the chaos and drug-crazed ‘thinking’ of the people involved. Tracy’s narration is A+.

Not my typical true crime pod but I LOVES IT!!
After listening to the story in MFM I decided I would get the whole scoop. I typical listen to true crime comedy but this podcast did not disappoint. It was much drier than I am used to but it gives enough detail and switches it up enough that it kept my interest. The narrators are not commentators, they aren’t having a conversation, but they tell a great story. I highly recommend.

    Can’t listen even after subscribing!
I paid for the subscription and it STILL won’t let me play the episodes! It keeps telling me I need to subscribe and then when I click subscribe it tells me I already have a subscription 😡 So frustrating.
  • dukela21
Sad you need subscription today continue listening
It’s good, annoyed I need to pay to listen to the rest. So I won’t be finishing this one.

    Wow! Awesome Podcast
As a Southern California resident, I was familiar with the “wonderland murders“ but didn’t know the whole story. Wonderful treat to hear from Tom Lange! What a great detective he was for the LAPD. One of good guys. 💯

    Only 2 episodes?
There are only 2 episodes. I can’t find more. Some people say it’s behind a paywall, but I can’t even find that. Stupid way to make a podcast

    Riveting storytelling
Loved this story of The Wonderland Murders presented by wondery. Hands down the best channel with the most entertaining podcasts!

Have to purchase membership to listen
Would love to give 5 stars as the story is amazing, but it truly doesn’t seem fair to put this content behind a paywall. In fact I find that disgusting. The story is really stranger than fiction. I mean, you couldn’t write this stuff. It’s such a mix of drugs, sex, and hardcore crime, that it keeps you captivated the entire time. Some of the stories are almost unbelievable, and it’s amazing how low some people stoop to get what they want. I ended up choosing the free trial subscription so I could listen to the whole podcast, but I will be cancelling before the trial period ends.

    Just....wow
I couldn’t figure out where episode 3 was and now...I know. When did you guys start pulling this stunt? Geez at least tell us up front. The only other thing I want to say, cause I won’t be finishing this podcast, is that the guy narrator (Larry?) sounds just like David Schwimmer- that’s the only thing I’ll miss😔
  • Dominica10
    Great storytelling
Even though I know the story of “The Wonderland Murders” listening to this podcast’s reenactment made it feel like a brand new event. As usual, Wondery knocks its out of the park.
  • Courtgwash
    Waste of time without subscription.
Wow. Listened to the first two episodes and can’t finish. Definitely not subscribing now.
  • Antny024
    Pay for a podcast???
As amazing as most Wondery podcasts are, and they are!! I refuse to pay to listen to them!! Very disappointed and I won’t even browse their selection of podcasts any longer.
  • gpd209
    Only a teaser
Only two episodes are now available. You have to pay to hear the rest. I can’t believe Apple allows them to do this without disclosing it to the audience.

    Confusing to follow
I like to listen to podcasts while doing chores or cooking and I found the storytelling in this podcast to be too confusing. You almost have to sit and take notes while listening so that you’re not lost in the constant jumping around between characters. Also, way too many ads. Not for me.

    Don’t waste your time
First 2 episodes jump all over between characters. Then says you have to go to the Wondery app to listen to the remaining episodes.

The whiplash of the back & forth b/w story causes seasickness
    Back & forth becomes disorienting.

    Anyone of the series.
This is the most despicable disgusting podcast I’ve ever ever listened to. I had to stop listening to it especially when Holmes’ wife comes in the house & finds her husband playing with his penis. The podcast is too vulgar. I

    Disappointed
Can’t find episodes after episode 3. What happened?

    Bait N Switch
Great podcast but I wish they put all nine episodes in one place instead of beating you over the head with an advertisement every five minutes and then charging you to hear the rest of the episodes. I do not support that kind of trickery and hucksterism. Alright.

    Can’t stand narrator
I have misophonia and the male narrator’s speech is very off-putting. I understand that he is the writer, but they should have gotten someone else to do his part of the narration.
  • PDJOR
    So stupid
Only two episodes & then they tell you about the rest & you can’t find them. I wouldn’t even bother listening it’s just going to piss you off. Go find something that’s not wonders!!
  • twidle-bug
    Not downloading wondery plus app
I enjoyed the first 2 episodes but I am not downloading another podcast app and I am definitely not paying $4.99 a month for the app and it’s content. I will just google the case.
  • tlrenn
    Paid subscription
Makes you make for a subscription to listen to the rest. No warning. Good podcast sad I’ll never hear the end of it.
  • Arockingroupie
    Where are the other episodes
I cant find the rest of the episodes on apple podcast app but if you listen to episode 2 it automatically pops up to listen to 3

    Missing episodes
Interesting and gripping podcast. But there are only 2 episodes available...was released 3 years ago so they should be there
  • Travelgoddess
    What happened to remaining episodes?
I was listening to episode 4 and didn’t finish and now it’s gone. Why??
  • no nsme golfer
You can only listen to episode 1&2 for free!
They make you get wondery plus a paid subscription to hear the rest of the episodes! Screw you Wondery!
  • KateriLeigh
    Ugh
Why does it stop after 2 episodes now? No announcement or anything? Please be professional!!
  • Pipa 67
    Episode 3 and 4 are missing. 😩
It is both intriguing and horrifying. I was about to listen to episode 4 today and now 3&4 are no longer available.
  • Amargotward
    I loved this podcast, but...
I loved this podcast but I wish the last 4 episodes hadn’t been taken down. I listened to all six episodes and then started telling my friends about it and now they can’t listen to the whole story...
  • Charlie Fan4life
    Could have been better
The story was well put together. My problem was the guys voice with the annoying thumping music behind him. He just doesn't speak clearly or completely annunciate his words. Kind of like someone with a hollow voice and puffy cheeks. The lady should do the show herself or have the guy take voice lessons and never play background music. Heck of a time hearing him. Otherwise enjoyed the podcast.

    Pro-porn = pro-rape
Your advisories lack in details. I don’t like that you are playing portions of porn and seem to have a pro porn bent. Waiting for society to wake up. To normalize porn is to normalize rape. I could do without having audio from porn played.

    Watch the movie.
Literally everything they said was in the movie, no more or less information. It’s like a detailed description of the movie that’s very repetitive.
  • andetherunner
    Excellent
Very well-researched and engaging. I still can’t believe this really happened!!!

    Requires concentration
Very well done. Just be aware that this is not one of theirs stories you can passively listen to running it in and out as you do other stuff. This pod requires concentration to keep up with all the storylines, but it’s worth it. Thank you

    Professional presentation thank you

    Love this
This story has always intrigued me . I’m a true crime buff & have listened to so many podcasts . I love this format ! I didn’t want the story to end
  • SarahJuanita
I could barely get through it
Literally felt like every episode was the same, slow and repetitive, not an exciting story
  • 77X69
Sorry, the Quentin-Tarantino-time-jumping doesn’t work here.
This podcast tells the story of the Wonderland Murders from two directions: it opens with the discovery of the murders, and then jumps WAY back to the birth and childhood of John Holmes. From there, the storylines slowly move forward in tandem. We follow John forward in time as he grows up, develops a bad drug addiction, and makes some very sketchy friends. Simultaneously, we’re jumping to the aftermath of the murders—how the investigation was progressing, etc. Then we jump back to John Holmes’ backstory. Then back to the murder investigation. It gets maddening when Holmes starts appearing in both sides of the story—one second in cahoots with Eddie Nash, and the next second being questioned by homicide detectives. And then back again. It’s a bit hard to follow.
  • JB84332
    Too many timeline jumps!
Great story, hosts, production. But, the jumping back & forth & left & right with storyline is really confusing if you’re not paying 100% attention. Would’ve come across much better in a linear telling.
