Dave Lewis 111Always ExcellentStadio is in my top few favorite podcasts. Ryan and Musa are great personalities to listen to and smart about football. My only complaint is…I need more. 🤩

Agriff37Excellent podJust found this pod and it is my new favorite soccer podcast. Great analysis and two guys that are “positive first”, which is so far gone in todays media. Everyone should check this out if they love the beautiful game.

Jason KSA welcoming place for a novice fanA Dash of Dyche Curries and corners Ryan and Musa are such an enjoyable, generous, funny, and insightful duo. They keep the conversation elevated yet accessible for me as a novice fan diving into games on various platforms. I have like 10 podcasts I listen to weekly, and Stadio quickly jumped to the top of the table, relegating something else from my regular listening. And Musa’s laugh is a delicious cup of coffee in front of a fireplace on the cold mornings in these contentious tiimes.

Jcole#10Old Friends I’ve Never MetI’ve been listening to Stadio for nearly 4 years now. I listen to almost every episode because of Ryan and Musa’s wit, intelligence and willingness to discuss soccer in the broader context of society. There are many places to get real time “analysis” of European soccer matches, but their perspectives and love of the game with all of its joys and flaws brings me back every time. They are my parasocial European friends from Uni where we could talk football or just life. Don’t change, keep laughing and stay safe and well.

JasonPettyProbably the only review I’ll ever write.Genuinely my favorite podcast since I started listening in late 2019. I feel like Musa & Ryan are good friends of mine even though I live on a different continent. Their empathy, wisdom & humor not only keep me up to date on all things soccer but also call out the sport’s hierarchy when they lift profit and greed over kindness, health and inclusivity. I’m grateful the two of you met and you took the risk to start this podcast!

Keylor107Just needs more SV Werder Bremen talkThe pod is great and you show a lot of love to the Bundesliga but as an SV Werder Bremen supporter, give my boys some shine. Do they need to drop into the 2. Bundesliga to get the Stadio bump, Ryan?

Jew BidenListen to this podcastThey’re good, really good. Have so much knowledge about the sporting side of the game covering almost every league out there. They're reluctant to criticize a player or team heavily, unless fully deserved. And are full of praise towards people going greats things in the sport with very little bias towards their teams.
-
OldJoe40One of the bestsRyan and Musa are very good at this.
-
AJC6611Intelligent DiscussionAs someone that is still “new” to football, it’s excellent listening to Ryan and Musa go through the week as well as so funny bits that provide history to the sport. It’s a delight listening to their point of view and analysis!
-
BL_52HeartMusa and Ryan inject so much love into this football cast. Both gents seem like truly wonderful people. Keep up the great work, and thank you for the providing the joy.

kimbobo722If Burial “Untrue” Was A ⚽️ PodBreath of fresh air in the ocean of of football pods. Not quite sure how they manage to make discussing football feel so mellow. They cover tons of international leagues, UCL, Europa, and PL matches. Perfect pinch of philosophy and personality in there to break up the analysis. 5 Star ⚽️ Easyyyyyy!

SankzinhoThe therapy I didn’t ask for, but the one I was blessed with nonetheless!I’ve been listening to the Stadio Podcast for about 3 years now. Musa and Ryan dish out Football analysis intermingled with humorous takes on real life, pop culture, and sometimes even existential questions. Whenever I’ve listened to the podcast, especially during COVID, it has been my bi-weekly escape from the trials and tribulations of life. It’s no exaggeration to say that this podcast has rekindled my childlike adulation for the game of Soccer, while also fostering a mindset to look at the brighter side of life.

JhankneeFootball Vibes 👨🏻🍳💋This is my go to football pod. I don’t know if you’re gonna get the hard tactical breakdowns or argumentative tension that you can find with other football pods, but if you like to watch your football on mute with classical music in the background and break out a coy smile at an existential red card, you’ve found your pod. Unique insight, fun ideas, and genuine opinions. This is vibes 10x. Thanks for all you do!

brettandshawThis Podcast Is JoyMusa’s laugh and Ryan’s ability to bring it out—what more could you ask for? Listening to this podcast has regularly gotten me stopped by strangers on runs who want to know why I’m smiling so much. I stay off socials for mental health reasons, but if anyone sees this I have one tweak to Musa’s Last Dance-style documentary from the latest mailbag episode. The title should be Red Giant (rather than Red Star), as a red giant is a star that is approaching death.

Philthy FebruaryExcellent ShowExcellent show. Informative, entertaining, and social contrast. Thank you Ryan and Musa.

SpunkyGeeVeeringMusa, please send your playlist mentioned in the show depicting Pep moving to Berlin. Ryan, please share the piano piece utilizing two pianos with different paces that overlap, etc. PS I love your short veering into film, music, and the overlap via soundtracks, tv…

Jackandpirate3Starting to tire of their contentThese guys are awesome, but even with the BBC coverage aside, the last several months they’ve provided less coverage of the relevant games then the Athletic’s podcast entries in the middle of the week. I fully expect this week to have more content on the German fans in Naples, than the actual UCL games themselves. I agree on most all their opinions, but if they want to spend so much time on those opinions, it’d be nice if they had more than two shows a week.

....Ian.....Excellent, just excellentThank you Musa and Ryan for creating this podcast and pulling me into your podcast ecosystem with others such as Flo, Janette, Wrighty, Carl and more…what a breath of fresh air to this world you all are. Football, life, society, critical thought, and genuine kindness are all right here folks, don’t miss it. Challenge yourself and others, spread love and football.

DecumariaListen to Ryan and MusaI could listen to Ryan and Musa discuss any topic. Football is their vehicle. Like Wrighty’s House, Stadio gives us much more than the beautiful game though they give us that too. I started listening because Ryan and Musa discuss the women’s game. I don’t follow men’s football. Although I am tracking the World Cup (As with the EUROS, I watch FOX on mute and listen to the BBC). When the USMNT go out I’ll probably drift away. Attitudes toward soccer in the US are not the reverse of retro England and its misogynist 50-year ban. Half a century and England Lionesses winning the EUROS is beginning to create real change in those attitudes. American attitudes are also essentially misogynist: “Girls play soccer. Men play football.” These attitudes explain why the USMNT have struggled to qualify for the WC and when they do, struggle to get out of the group stage. At least the USMNT made it to the 2022 WC, so they’ll split earnings with the USWNT and share the USWNT’s earnings in 2023. And in 2026 along with Canada & Mexico as hosts they won’t have to worry about qualifying. Phew! More earnings to split with the USWNT. I know Europe is thrilled to write off the USWNT after taking Bronze in Tokyo (like any UEFA side but Germany, Sweden and Norway have ever won an Olympic medal) and a few 2-1 defeats in friendlies with top European sides. Fine margins. Title IX. Competitive NCAA tournament soccer. NWSL and its predecessors. #1 USWNT = World champions. World Cup 4x; Olympics 4x. “Europe is catching up,” they say, which means fine margins. Europeans who have played or coached in the US understand what it takes to win consistently (Emma Hayes, Pia Sundhage and players from Sarina Wiegman, Sonia Bompastor, Kelly Smith, and Karen Carney to Lucy Bronze, Sam Kerr, Alessia Russo, Rachel Daly, and Ebony Salmon). Storied soccer programs at UNC, Stanford, UCLA, UVA and FSU are passé. Hardly. American players take various routes. (What about those 7 Americans who play for the Albanian side Vllaznia in the UWCL?) Several current top USWNT players eschewed college soccer entirely in favour of a pro career (Lindsey Horan, Mal Pugh, Trinity Rodman, Alyssa Thompson) or went pro early in their college careers after winning the NCAA Championship at Stanford (Cat Macario, Sophia Smith). What we see among the top teams are fine margins. Never wise to write off a champion squad: Lyon v Barcelona 2022 UWCL final. Chelsea v Man U WSL final match 2022. Portland v KC NWSL 2022 Playoff. I’m sure you can supply other examples. If Qatar gets you down, just remember that in eight months the expanded and most competitive 9th Women’s World Cup opens in Australia and NZ on 20 July, 2023 with hosts opening games: NZ v Norway. Eden Park, Auckland AUS v Ireland. Allianz Stadium, Sydney

GagailbayuLove for StadioAbsolutely love listening to Musa and Ryan. They both obviously have a knowledge and wisdom about the game, but their chemistry and humor really stand out. And perhaps most importantly, they don’t just show a willingness to talk about the intersections of politics and sports, they do so with the nuance and grace we so desperately need from sports media. Thanks guys!!
