    LOVE Alyssa
Just cannot get enough of this girl. I love every take hot or otherwise and though she is a couple years younger than me, what a great lifelong best friend this girl would be!!

    I love the midwestern accents
As like-minded midwesterner, I greatly enjoy this podcast.

    My new favorite political podcast
With all the negativity going on, these hosts and their guests find a way to talk about it all in a conversational way that does not feel negative. I get happy when I see a new episode in my feed each week. This podcast makes me feel seen and not alone.

excuse me I listen on the reg. Smh… sayin there’s probably no men listening. Also straight but gays are awesome and women are smarter than everybody else. I just wonder if I’m an outlier? Lonewolf out here

    Glad I added
38 year old white guy. Love the show. Funny and informative. Sometimes learning things about my own state that I should have known! Not to dramatize, but If you care about women you should give it a listen.

    Pick me
I’m out. I realized that Erin is just a pick-me girl pretending she’s not. Her snark at what other people like… I’m just over it.

    Spoiler Alerts Please!!
Came here for the political commentary - you guys are hilarious and informative! But then, you spoiled Sister Wives for me in less than 20 seconds during the latest episode of your pod. Ironically I had just started Season 1 and you gave a run-down of where everyone is today with NO spoiler warning. Dang it!! Other than THAT - no notes! 💕

    Mostly nonsense
I wanted so badly to like this show. I love Erin Ryan on other Crooked Media shows, but this thing is a horror. This hot mess is an echo chamber of shaming “others” and mostly represents the worst of what right wingers have to say about us “liberal elites.” Very disappointing.

Wish it was 3x per week
Please no more Katie couric! She talks over everyone and is constantly asking sneakily mean / slightly racist questions. Yikes.

    They Finally Got It!
This show has finally gotten it right. I look forward to the episodes each week. Originally this show was a sloppy mess. I periodically came back to check if it got better. It didn’t for years. However it is SO GOOD now. I’m glad I kept giving it a chance and I’m glad Crooked stuck it out. THANK YOU I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

    Thank you!
Live this podcast! Thanks for discussing the Little house connection to Mankato! (I absolutely remember that they talked about going to Mankato on Little House, but selling the grain! Oh my gosh!) Perfect connection! Thanks for always having amazing analysis on current events.

    What happened?
I used to listen to this show until maybe 2 years ago because the ads seemed to get way too long- I came back recently and was sorely disappointed that the weekly panel- which drew me to the show in the first place- was gone! I like Alyssa and Erin but I always came to an episode for their chemistry with great guests like Naomi Ekperigan and Dana Schwartz. Such shame!

Loved this format, content and guests!
This was a fun show. Informative, good insight and loved the highlight of women running for state offices! Truly in awe of them:)

    A better recommendation:
Save yourself some time (and brain cells) and listen to The Fifth Column instead. Hysteria is flat-out not good. I have listened for years and it just continues to decline in quality.

    Hateful and embarrassing
This is a long one, because I have listened for two years and I think it’s important to hold people accountable. I’ve had some concerns for a while now that Hysteria was just the liberal version of the hateful conservative shows that I think are unhealthy to listen to. My final straw happened to be the May 23rd ep. Erin confidently claims that the Bible supports blaming women, which is just academically incorrect. (just because a person in a story is punished does not mean the narrative is supporting that result; sometimes stories are showing injustice.) There is an entire academic field of study on this topic, if you really cared what any of those stories meant when they were written, or if you really wanted to know what actual Christians think of those stories. Beyond this fundamental lack of knowledge, the show makes disgusting generalizations about Christians, by assuming that the extremists are the norm or majority. Also, all the examples of scripture given are the ones shared with J*****m, so all the trash talk would also apply to them, whether you meant it or not. And if your response to that is, “No, they interpret it differently”, that is exactly my point. It can be, and is, interpreted and used differently by different groups. Acting like the right wing evangelicals are the baseline of the religion is factually incorrect and prejudiced. Having a podcast with such a large audience means you have a responsibility to, at the bare minimum, not be an a-hole because that inspires others to be same way. (Censored J because my original review was never posted. I think apple is indiscriminately filtering that and related words.)

"Saltier than Mr. Peanut's jock strap"*
Happy 300 episodes!! I am a Day 1 and this podcast has been with me through 10 moves, 2 job changes, and several road trips over the last 6 years. Today Michaela shouted out Erin's nicknames for terrible people, which are great, but so are her allusions, similes, and metaphors. The whole crew is awesome and I thank them for supplying most of my news😜 * if I am remembering correctly, this is from summer of 2020. I heard it when I was pulling in to my garage parking space. Laughed out loud

    Hysteri-a-cal
But not ha ha. Enjoy the warm glass of narrative and hypocrisy.

    My favorite
I love this pod so much! The combination of intelligence/snark/humor makes me look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays, especially since I listen to it at work.

Changed over the past several months
I used to listen to this every week, lately it’s become glib, out-of-touch, and the thoughtfulness has faded. It’s a hard thing to try to be witty, but maybe you don’t need to be. I don’t know if there isn’t enough budget or prep-time, but I find myself skipping this week to week and finally unsubscribed. There’s definitely a market for a women-hosted podcast that focuses on politics, but sadly this one isn’t it for me anymore.

    The Weekly Get-Together I Need
This podcast is everything. The hosts, Erin and Alyssa, are wickedly funny and brilliant. Without being too parasocial, listening to the show feels like being out to dinner with friends who are fired up about the news and some random thing they read on the internet. I’ve never missed an episode and recommend it to everyone (whether they’ve asked for recommendations or not).

    April 25th Episode
Thanks for making sure that any young men listening (or old for that matter) are turned off by letting them know that most women feel all masculinity is toxic and the average cis male is more dangerous than most bears…except Polar bears. Then, make sure to follow that with a statement about men who stereotype women…gross, cheap, and far from what we expect from Crooked. Also, sadly, not funny in the least. Raise your bar, ladies, you are better than this.

    Wanted to love this pod
I first discovered Hysteria through Pod Save America, a pod I’m a huge fan of. But now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned, I’ve had to unsubscribe. The host Erin has made comments over the past two years, like “Idky any woman would live in Wisconsin” or “if I were in Texas, I’d get out already”. Not all of us have the means to afford a house or a life in California, or the ability to “just move”. Some of us, like myself, are homeowners/small business owners (and are raising their small children near their grandparents) and have too many entanglements to just pick up and leave. It seems that host Erin lacks empathy and doesn’t recognize her own privilege. If you’re a progressive activist living in a red state, times are tough-especially post Roe. Find a pod with compassionate, true feminists that won’t make you feel worse.
  • Jenserai
    Rethink the attempts at humor
FYI it’s possible to build humor about things besides judging other people. Whenever y’all try to be funny, all you can seem to do is pick someone to judge. Why? It’s such weak humor.

The only complaint I have is that I have to wait 7 days for a new episode! If you came out with a daily show ever - I would be in heaven. I’m a 46 year old suburbanista and I love your spunk & humor, type of information discussed, guests & questions you ask! I just want more… :)
  • frenchfried53
    … it’s ‘like’…
I so want to listen to & enjoy this podcast BUT unfortunately just about every other word spoken by Erin is ‘like’ … soooo distracting ☹️
  • IndigoBear1
    Informative and funny!
Thank you so much for making this podcast and giving more information on women's rights and abortion. This is an amazing podcast and I really appreciate you creating it!

    Alyssa- wildlife habitat
Hey, you should look at the National Wildlife Federation’s certified wildlife habitat program! They also have a monarch habitat initiative. Great organization! Great pod!

    Also missing personal-political
I’ve been a fan since the first episode but I miss the personal-political section of the pod with the amazing group of women who would talk about varying topics. The political aspect of the show is important, critical and I learn a lot, but it has gotten longer and more negative. Bring back Megan, Naomi, Kirin, Grace, Tian, Dana, Michaela, and the rest of the crew!
  • Mje9
    Love love this show.
Thank you Erin and Alyssa for saying what I’m thinking. I look forward to listening to you every week. I’ve even sent some of your episodes to my father in law, a man who said he was a Goldwater Republican, is now an independent. And dare I say Democrat curious? Anyway, thank you for helping me keep my sanity and allowing me to enjoy when I’m petty.

    Missing personal-political
I have been in the Hysteria fan club since the very first episode! I have been happy to keep listening as the show has evolved over the years, but I do have to say that I deeply miss personal-political. I appreciate all the ways that Hysteria keeps me informed of political happenings, especially as it relates to reproductive rights and women’s issues. But it can get exhausting every week to hear again and again how we’re losing autonomy over our bodies, and while I value that knowledge I also used to seek Hysteria equally for the reprieve of topic the panelists would discuss. Also - the panelists were so amazing! Kieran, Megan, Michaela, Dana, Grace, Naomi, and so many more. It felt more like girlfriends just chatting during their portion of the episode, and I feel like I need that again to sustain my listenership.
  • Jakehtc
    Normally love the show
But I just listened to an episode about women and men and felt like the person being interviewed was very thoughtful about the issues but Erin was very dogmatic and described a condition of how young men were being raised that hasn’t been the case for decades. As a Gen X mom of a son Gen Z boys were not raised the way she described- these boys come from two parent households in almost all cases and were not raised to think that women will serve them and their dads cooked and their moms travelled for work. Also, her reaction to the story of women wanting men who earn 500k and are over 6 feet tall was to say that these standards indicated that women were looking for ways to improve their lives. This is a crazy comment that the only way to improve your life is to find a rich, tall man. All that said I normally love Erin and Allysa- but a more thoughtful approach to these difficult problems would be greatly appreciated. The problem of young men goes far beyond whether or not women need men to marry. We need to work with men, we need them to vote with us and not against us, and we need acknowledge that young men are struggling and we need to be thoughtful about it. I don’t worry for my own son as he is kind, over 6 feet tall and while only 16 is likely to do just fine.

    WOW!
Love the show every week, but this week with Katie Couric was one of my favorites! I want you guys to be friends as she said. Hope she is on again sometime! Love you both!
  • Rane42good
Not sure what of this is anymore.
Been listening to the podcast for a couple of years. Turned of by weird hypocrisy and factual inaccuracy disguised as opinion.
  • •Andrea>
    Informative and Funny - A note, though…
I appreciate the show’s updates on all things political, but I especially love the non-political conversations with guests about hot takes, “I Feel Petty,” and just everyday things that will make you laugh. For example, Caroline’s segment on the women’s soccer drama was pure gold! But, I agree with the other reviewer that the hating on Philly is distasteful for a show that aims to be inclusive. There’s a lot of great people in the city and suburbs, and we delivered a non-Trump presidency for you in 2020.

    A little advice…
I love the show. I’m no expert but I think you should call the podcast “Women Save America”.

    Jammin with the girls
This is my favorite podcast, been listening for years! I save it to listen on the weekend during long walks with my dog. Would love to have the personal-political panel back. I miss the queen of Illinois, Megan, Julissa, the whole rotating crew!

    Chasing the joy!
I look forward to your commentary every week on news in these United States, plus the interviews, and traditional segments, like ‘F that guy’ and Sani-Petty corner. Toxic masculinity abounds in Western New York. Thank you, Catholic church, for the toxic gift that keeps on giving. Hysteria helps me keep my sanity in this part of New York. Love that Juanita loves Christmas as do the hosts. Keep chasing the joy!

    Personal/Political
I've seen a few other comments about this, and have been wondering the same thing: has the format changed? Is there no more panel for personal-political? I used to really enjoy this podcast, but it now feels a little less somehow. The panel (even when I didn't always agree) was more vibrant and dynamic, and nuanced. I'm hoping this change is temporary because I miss the way it used to be.

    STOP BASHING PHILLY
Girls, I listen every week. Big fan! Love you both! Want to make jam with Alyssa! I’m a 60 yr old mba educated person. Philly is the best. I grew up in Philly now I live in suburbs. We are PASSIONATE about our teams! So fun! I’ve been cheering since I was 11. I don’t climb poles but I love my teams. It’s a beautiful, diverse city! Stop basing us! 😜

    Missing personal political!!
As a long time fan and listener I’m wondering what happened to the panel discussion? I miss that and hope it’s just a temporary change in format.
