Saint Teresa of Ávila, also called Saint Teresa of Jesus, baptized as Teresa Sánchez de Cepeda y Ahumada, (March 28, 1515, at Gotarrendura (Ávila), Old Castile, Spain – October 4, 1582, at Alba de Tormes, Salamanca, Spain) was a prominent Spanish mystic, Carmelite nun, and writer of the Counter Reformation. Excellent Podcast
I found St Teresa through The Book of Prayer app. This is the second podcast I’ve listened to of St Teresa. The first was her suggestions for prayer. I really appreciate the woman who reads. Her voice is quite believe-able and I sense she connects with St Teresa. It is surprising many of the struggles Teresa endured in the 16th century remain today. She speaks with such sweetness and honesty. I’ve thought about picking up this book for every young Christian lady I know! It’s a gem.
