The Road Taken with CT and Baio

575

Vampire Weekend’s Chris Tomson and Chris Baio take an honest look at the life of a touring musician through conversations with their peers, idols, and rivals. The truth lies somewhere between the penthouse suite and a sleeping bag on the floor, between a private jet and a 2004 Honda Odyssey, between a sold-out Madison Square Garden and 10 paid attendees at Rubber Gloves in Denton, Texas. Tune in to find out!

Amazing Show.. Waiting for Season II
Amazing show. The first podcast where I couldn’t stop thinking about the next episode. Just try the first episode if you care at all about music/music buisiness/travel. The fans demand a new season.

    BEST POD IN THE GALAXY
I got deep into VW a few moths ago, and went down a week-long rabbit hole of learning everything there is to know about every member of the band. In this brief period of madness, I discovered The Road Taken. CT and Baio are the cool friends you never had, and their pod is the platform in which you learn this. FROM THIS PODCAST I HAVE: 1. Learned of new artists I didn’t previously know existed 2. Learned about traveling/being on tour etc 3. Got to know the second coolest drummer and coolest bassist on the planet (sorry- first goes to Kim Gordon and John Bonham) Anyway, please binge this pod. You won’t be sorry

Loved listening to this show! Wish the banter felt more natural but I think that just comes with time and getting more ep’s under your belt! Keep em coming. Would love to see a Arctic Monkeys/Vampire Weekend rhythm section crossover episode <3

    Love this show
Found this from Three Moves Ahead, and the hosts has the same enthusiasm, insight, and friendliness (thank goodness for the lack of gamebro snark!) I hope they branch out from Paradox - as I’d love to hear takes on other games too!

The Road less Taken by Ct and Baio
This new new podcast series is one I want to binge listen to but instead am savoring and taking my time listening to not wanting the series to end. I thoroughly enjoy each episode. Each new episode has a new musician being interviewed giving the listener a truly insightful look behind the scenes of a touring musician. I have a greater respect for what it takes to be out on the road in wanting your music to be heard and the stamina one must have coupled with the joy. The details that each new artist brings forth is educational and interesting! Baio snd CT are very personable interviewers!

    Great listen
Big fan of this podcast. CT and Baio are as down to earth as it gets. A peek behind the curtain of being in a band is incredibly interesting.

Great podcast on the lives of a touring musician
Never have I heard such an in depth and unfiltered conversation about the lives of touring musicians. This will help any band or music artist that is trying to navigate the touring lifestyle. It also makes some of the greatest artists of this generation much more real and personal.

Two cool dudes making cool conversation with other cool dudes. What’s not to like?
But seriously this is a really great podcast to listen to. Their lighthearted and thoughtful conversations are an interesting look into the humanity behind the musician. I hope there’s a season 2 coming!

    Love it
Great podcast. The guys are shockingly normal, kinda figured rock stars would be more alien or something but it’s refreshing to hear how chill they are. Would love for them to get more into technicalities of playing shows and touring like. How long did you guys schlep your own gear? Any stories on about stuff breaking on stage? Remember buying that amp (or something) that you decided “now I’m a rock star”. Stuff like that.

    One For The Music Lovers
As a diehard Vampire Weekend fan, it can be assumed that my review of this podcast is slightly biased in favor of the band’s first spoken word offering, however I believe any music-loving, podcast-binging person will find a lot to love in this show. From the rare in-depth interview with an under the radar hired-gun to nostalgic convos with superstars such as Michelle Branch, ‘The Road Taken With CT & Baio’ is a must-listen. You’re sure to learn something about the life of a musician that you didn’t know before, and as an added bonus, fans of VW will be hard pressed to find more intimate content than the brotherly love between the two hosts, Chris T. & Chris B. I recommend starting at the beginning and following along as the hosts give real time updates on their current road adventures and show happenings before and after each interview. All in all this podcast can be enjoyed on the patio with a few cold ones, at the office or perhaps on your own journey wherever the road may take you.
