Havana529What happened to the PEPFAR episode? This is one of my favorite podcasts, I love the Kennedy episode. As an African, I also loved the President Bush’s Pepfar speech, the one about ending the AIDS epidemic in Africa. What happened to that episode?! Sad.

ChoZen RevolutionFalse biased opinionsIn Ronald Reagan’s episode they criticize Donald Trump for creating fake border crisis. Turns out Trump was correct yet again.
-

MsFireworkPlease keep this unbiased. When you have to invoke Trump in practically every podcast we’ll then you know where the slant lies. I don’t want to know this! I want learn about great speeches without partisanship!! I am unfollowing due to this. I tried but it’s too much.

AY AY RON97Empowering, informative, and entertainingI first started listening to this podcast as a way to pass the time after someone had recommended it to me. I quickly fell in love with this series and couldn’t wait for each new episode. When the second season came out I quickly binged the whole thing. This series takes a a deep look at a wide variety of speeches from modern history, some famous and other less so, and provides a deep look at them and the events surrounding them as well as the speaker. This has allowed me to learn more about some of histories most famous speeches as well as other lesser known speeches which I found incredibly fascinating and at times empowering.

dopeteGood, a bit of bias is obviousGreat overall podcast. My only beef is the anti trump bias in particular. (And no, I don’t like trump either). This is a history podcast. Best to let the speech of morons “speak” for themselves.

parent whispererA True GiftI just wanted you to thank you, John Meacham, and your team for all of your hard work in this treasure of a podcast. In today’s coarse world, your episodes have lifted me up and often moved me near to tears (“I’m not crying. You’re crying.”) Yes, you have great material to work with, but your writing is exceptional in my view and the production quality, music, etc. is just superlative. I cannot thank you enough. It’s really made a difference for my life and helps me brace myself against the cynicism of our world and whatever dominates the news cycle du jour. Thank you all!

walstreetrrrrrWowThis podcast reminded me to be even more aware of words and their impact in moments. When events and words collide like they do in the moments review here by Dr Meacham, and when there is a highlight from a historian of Dr Meacham’s caliber, transformation in my soul happens. Thank you for giving us you best and our world’s best.

rbrown0516Leftist biasNice idea and good production…. But so biased! There is an agenda here.
-

SenibileBlatantly LiberalHorrible slant to the podcast. It’s shamelessly one sided. Steer clear here.

techarterezWhere is season two episode 10?At the end of season two episode nine of it Was Said, John states that the next episode would be about Eleanor Roosevelt. I do not see that episode anywhere. Please post it.

madyanniThank youMr. Meacham, this is the most important podcast I have had the joy of listening to. What a truly outstanding job you have done. Let us all pray to Our Lord that our modern day McCarthy can be stopped. I pray that all our citizens will listen and come to understand.

Loghill BrigadeStill learningAt 70 years old I still have a list for learning and understanding how our USA got to where it is today. This podcast is by far one of the best. I recommend this to all. From a former May teacher.
-
RCLiebermanMeghan McCainThe USA misses John McCain every day! Loved this episode even though I cried so much. Thanks

DavidD7963History channel biasI was hesitant to add this podcast when I saw the history channel stamp because I've seen their leftist bias in their other history programs but I thought maybe there's a chance you were a true historian instead of a political hack. I was disappointed to hear your bias in the very first episode I listened to. Sure you got Churchill's speeches right but you had to take a stab at America's past by concluding "it was England's finest hour but not America's finest hour.". Your anti- American hatred shined through in spite of the hurculean efforts and sacrifices of the American people to save the world from leftist tyrants. Thanks for not hiding your true colors and wasting my time. Thanks also for finally convincing me to never trust anything affiliated with the Democrats at the history channel.

JHH2102Why music under the speeches? If the speeches are powerful they don’t need music under. It reminds me of Trump‘a latest attempts to manipulate his followers with music under his rantings.
-
CloteeHistory repeats itselfSo true. Music credits please - searched webpage couldn't find.

malie.sturgisInteresting and funEvery episode is interesting and I always learn something new. It's also fun because it’s at times, cheeky, not snarky.
-
Mike form LakewoodBarbara JordanGreat speech. I was 18 then my first election. I voted for Jimmy Carter and would again in 1980.
-
SwwacoachMagnificentOne of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to and I listen to many. Historical perspective on the great speeches not just the words but the motivation and also often the contradictions of the person making the speech.
-
tmartindeReagan’s farewellMy belief, you give Reagan too much credit. He was barely a good actor in the end, he was a racist, misogynistic, homophobic, narcissist, antisemite moron comedian. We all love a good comedian. He propelled the decline of the Republican Party and worse the rise of white nationalist christofascists. And that you revere him in any way will guarantee that I will never contribute to your professional well being. Love, Thalia Martin, MD

PTown93Another leftist podcastWhy can’t we talk about anything at all without bringing trump into it. The left eat, sleeps and breathes trump.
