SheilaMcdClancy episodeThis was the first episode I’ve listened to, and it will also be my last. If I could give it zero stars I would. Some of the most irresponsible reporting I’ve ever heard. Stephanie spends part of the episode comparing Lindsay to Chris Watts. Why? Chris Watts was a cheating husband, who did not want to be married anymore. He killed his pregnant wife and 2 daughters in cold blood, and then hid them in oil tanks. Lindsay Clancy was suffering from Postpartum mental illness, and had been seeking treatment for it. These cases are not related one bit. Any knowledgeable reporter would have referenced the Andrea Yates case. Also, it was evident in the back and forth with these two about how much further we have to go to understand postpartum. More study and research should have gone into it before letting these two discuss it in front of an audience. On one occasion the cop states, “ if you are having suicidal feelings, just go kill yourself.” Followed up by him saying he’s not promoting suicide but,…..Really? I understand cases like this are tragic and horrific, and very upsetting. But come on, do better. Read about the Andrea Yates case, and how these women try to get the help they so desperately need. They are failed by a broken healthcare system.

Jeff Miller1Format changeSeems like the well know multi episode format is the future for this show. The little know missing cases should be your focus but I’m just wasting my time, another podcast with a great platform going astray. Is the money from all the ads ???

SandiPondersCommitted to discovering truthI am an avid True Crime listener and "Crime Weekly" is #1 on my list of favorites. I appreciate the different, thorough, observations about a case and especially appreciate their commitment to truth which is more than words... it is followed up by action in true desire to help solve unsolved cases and community awareness.

Ashhog23Re: Menendez BrothersI think the comparison of someone killing a girl against the brothers isn’t an accurate comparison. The boys killed their abusers, not some random person.

83meowjThis is itLove this podcast. They are very informative and knowledgeable about each case that they do. This is one of my top five favorite podcasts!

ckel6Happy to have you back!Just wanted to say how much I’ve been thinking of you and your family Stephanie! Sending all the healing energy to you! Super strong woman! You too Derrick! ;)Thank you both for all your hard work and dedication to the victims, and your fans!
-
JedinLove your thoroughnessI know I’m a little late to the game, but I recently discovered your 8-episode coverage of the Hae Min Lee case, and you really changed my mind! The Serial podcast really was not as in depth as yours, and I’m so glad I tuned into all 8 episodes. Thank you!!

ALester9399Gypsy Rose series part 4I’m a huge fan of the show and have been since episode 1. I like that Stephanie challenges the narrative and she questions Derrick on law, opinions and public perception. That being said, the way she attacked the doctors OPINION was very off putting to me. She went so far as to call him unprofessional for stating his opinion. The doctor made it very clear that he had very little information about the case but he used his years of experience to develop his opinion. Stephanie’s tone was extremely disrespectful to the doctor and her behavior was the only unprofessional aspect of today’s show.

Mae HarOver all the conflictStephanie needs to watch it. Sick of the constant tearing down of others points of view.

elthescientistDesperately need a fact checker/better editorAt first, I loved this podcast, but week after week for the past few months I’ve been very disappointed. Stephanie and Derrick have made easily proven false statements about the cases they discuss. Please get a fact checker on your payroll. I feel disrespected as a listener who has been fed misinformation. But maybe you don’t want to get a fact checker because they might contradict Stephanie’s opinions. She obviously thinks she’s smarter than a forensic neuroscientist in Oct 25’s G Rose Blanchard episode.

grannyb68Child abuseStephanie please let the professionals talk. What are your credentials?? You sound very negative about EVERYTHING. In my opinion, Gypsy served her first prison term for the first 17 years of her life no matter what you say. Then she had 10 years in prison. Whether you like it or not Stephanie the experts have more evidence than you do! Fancy was a mistake. Just admit it

Bellacita mamacitaDisappointedReally disappointed in Stephanie’s attitude, sarcasm, and just blatant rude behavior the entire episode. She was very condescending “Dr. Fabian, the ESTEEMED” and “Dr. Fabian the PRESTIGIOUS”. Super defensive and argumentative and as a CRIME WEEKLY DAY ONE LISTENER, it was hard to get through this most recent episode. I appreciate Derrick throughout all these episodes. Stephanie, it sounds like you need to take a longer break from social media/uploading.

oELLa:)I’ve grown to love you both but…This Gypsy Rose ordeal is giving me a terrible headache. The going back and forth….look, she’s not a great person because she was brainwashed as a baby to go along with a not very well person. She has to get a chance to live life and it’s going to take her years to even be able to figure out who she is. Was what she did wrong? Yep. But does she deserve a chance to find out what life is since it was robbed from her? Yep. Will she possibly end up being an awful person like her mother? Yep. Is it possible she blooms into an amazing mother and woman? Yep. Only time can decide on this one. Also, Gypsy Rose doesn’t deserve to be in the spot light like she is. What she deserves is another boring mundane life and to be humbled.

CCF1437Yogurt Shop Murders suggestionLove this podcast and will be here when you can return. I do have a case suggestion for the future..the Yogurt Shop Murders in Austin TX in 1991. Twists and turns and a brutal case that haunts me as I was about the age of the girls killed at the time and living in Austin. Look forward to your return and wish all the best to Stephanie and her kiddos. ❤️

bricepsychBest deep dives crime podcast!Love this podcast so much, they are extremely thorough and give great detail and really good perspectives on every case they cover, would really love for them to do a deep dive on a home town mystery missing persons case that’s haunted our town for decades, Brian carrick, don’t know any podcast that could cover it better honestly. Keep up the great work!!
-
Doug’s BFFSo badHad to skip at least half an episode because they talk way too much and try to dissect the most pointless things. Also Stephanie was questioning multiple times why advanced DNA testing had not been done in the first place on a 20 year old case… like maybe because it’s 20 years later and technology has advanced…? Couldn’t listen after that and 20 minutes of them saying that they weren’t going to discuss parts of the case until later episodes.. like then stop mentioning it

TheoceannaspecialComplementing differing personalitiesI don’t think I’ve ever agreed equally with two people that have such differing opinions on many things! I see that it’s easy to constantly agree with just one person of a duo and it’s admirable that they both have their strengths in their own ways and keep that from happening! Good job guys :) (best crime podcast ever)
-
RachBenoitKeep it upThinking of Stephanie and will be here when Crime Weekly returns. I’ve been listening since the beginning. Amazing content.
-
BaipopLove this collab!I’ve owed this review for a long time. The collaboration of Stephanie and Derrick is amazing and their style, knowledge and experience so complementary for story telling. Really enjoy both!

TwogoldensmomLove this PodcastJust want to show my support for this show during this difficult time. This podcast sets the bar. I love the banter and small talk as well as the in depth research into each case. Stephanie and Derrick are fantastic.

Starberry BearBeginningYou guys were the first podcast I ever listened to and got me back into true crime. It is truly heartbreaking to hear the circumstances that you’re dealing with behind camera. As a mother myself making sure your protecting your littles peace is the most important and my prayers are with both of you! I eagerly wait for when you return.
-
Luna_rmMy favorite new podcastI just discovered your videos/ the podcast and I love it. Great perspectives! Just listened to the Hae Min Lee case and wow! Thank you for providing new and interesting insight into a case that is arguably over analyzed. Justice for Hae!

Annoying ChrisWell WishesTo Stephanie: Stay strong I know it’s hard I also went through a very difficult divorce over 30 years ago it’s painful but with the Love of your children and your family and friends it will get better. Wish I could be more helpful.
-
claudiarose2Gypsy RoseGypsy rose episode was too much. Going out of your way to find someone who has no experience to back your personal opinion. Stephanie has lost any idea of being unbiased and telling the truth, just searches for the few facts and other people that agree with her.
-
DeAS79Great show!Absolutely love Stephanie and Derrick! Love the extensive research and deep dives into these cases. You guys are awesome ♥️ Stephanie I am so sorry for your families loss and everything you've been going through before this loss. Take care of your kids and most importantly yourself. You have so much love and support behind you; we will all be here waiting for you.

kaelyn0706To Stephanie:Thank you for all the hard work you put into the show. It’s a little slice of self care for me personally to listen every week and I walk away from each episode feeling like I just took a semester long course. You’re awesome. Please take all the time you need and be with your littles and know that your crime weekly fam is thinking about you and standing behind you. We love you! Be safe, take care of you.
-
TttmmmmvvvvWill miss listeningI really enjoy the two of you and how you look at things in your own ways. I started listening to Stephanie and then found crime weekly. Take care of yourself and your family. I will miss your show.

SGreen20We Support YouCompletely support you! So what’s best for you and your family! This will always be here when you decide to return.
-
Jingzhou98So sorry for the ugliness 😞I’m so sad you’ve had to put the show on pause and I hope you will be able to come back soon. But most important as you said, Derek, self-care. Most of us know somebody who’s gone through an ugly divorce and can sympathize with the pain and struggle it creates. Personally I’ve come to kind of hate the Internet because of all the lies and bullying that goes on there. It may be now that the bad has come to outweigh the good. But anyway… Take care of yourself Stephanie and your kids. ❤️ I personally believe in prayer and will say some for you.

Dmarie LI will miss my favorite podcasters. All my love, support and respect to you both! I will miss Friday drops dearly but respect your decision. Family first always. Thinking of you and knowing you will come out of this all stronger and fiercer than you you already are.

Tiffany4133I’m so sorry but take all the time you need!I started listening this year, love the different point of views you guys both bring to cases. Wish you both all the best of luck and my heart is with you Stephanie!
-
JoehmsenIncredible Deep DivesI’ve listened for a while, and this is one of my top go-to true crime podcasts. Stephanie does an incredible amount of research, and I’m frequently hearing new things on cases I’ve heard about several times. I also appreciate Derrick’s “detective perspective” on the material and watching his process as each case progresses. They’re a good team with an interesting show dynamic.
-
ashandemmaTC. Anthony caseWe will be here if/when you come back to this podcast!! Support and ❤️ from afar! Update: just got done with the Dan M. 8 pt event and still amazed at how great the pod is! One of my FAVORITE PODCASTS! There isn’t this kind of detail in many pods. Keep the multi parters coming!! Just listened to the entire C Anthony case parts and wow. I love the dynamic of the hosts. So much information and detail. This is a great podcast.

darleneinflSeason 1 episode 35Have loved binge listening to all cases covered since I found y’all over the past 3 months … will continue to be a fan. You asked a question during Lauren's episode 2- is it better to know or not know when your child is missing ? For 28 years as a parent I used to think not knowing what happened to my child if she went missing would be my worst nightmare… then one day in Sept 2022 it happened to us . When I found her as a deceased Jane Doe on Facebook after searching the city of Philadelphia I realized how wrong I was . And I remember thinking this while my world crumbled . Knowing I was too late finding her and she had passed was my worst nightmare- prior to finding that out I at least had hope and a purpose . Suspecting is one thing - knowing is final. That knowing brings a new level of heartbreak that is all consuming emotionally mentally and physically . Never have I experienced grief that caused actual physical pain. I would give anything to have that hope again because with hope there was a small chance she was still out there and I would find her . I think the question is a situational answer that may differ for everyone and that unless you lived it it’s not really possible to answer the question with 100% certainty. Thank you both for bringing these victims the respect they deserve as you keep their memory alive as people and bring their case to the public for justice and education .

sdc70HeartbrokenI am so sad that this is over for me. I have been with you from the beginning. I have really enjoyed your show and I tell people about you all the time. I can't anymore. This Gypsy Rose thing is just, awful. Say what you will about Gypsy today, I could care less. But to suggest she was complicit in conning people when she was a child is absurd. And Stephanie and Derek know better which has me asking, why are they doing this? Are you heading down the route of shock and ugliness in the name of clicks? It's a shame because you really had a good thing here.
-
Kamila.ILove how the hosts are unbiasedI’m new! Started with Gyp episodes. What a great coverage and trying to be fair and considering all angles. Both hosts seem sensitive & super respectful to everyone discussed. My new favorite podcast
-
LaurenRuth897Dynamic DuoDerek and Stephanie have created one of the best true crime poadcasts! The research is unmatched, thorough, and presented in a story telling format that is dynamic and engaging. I look forward to all of their content!
-
Whitney RogersVileTheir coverage of the Gypsy Rose case is disgusting. Victim blaming and insisting that a CHILD was in on this massive con is vile. Stephanie came into this case with very strong biases and it’s made the series impossible to listen to. Bringing a TikTok conspiracy theorist nut job on the show to further “support” Stephanie’s claims is just bad work. I used to listen to this podcast religiously but don’t waste your time. Derrick is wonderful but his co-host has ruined this show.
-
d.n26THE best true crime podcast on the internetBy FAR, not even close, the most well researched true crime podcast out there. I’ve been following Stephanie for years now and she never disappoints, not once. She does her research like no other, and gives real depth, history, and nuance to the entire case, making every person involved a full character with their own backstory. Love it, love it, love it. Please never stop! I also appreciate hearing Derek’s perspective as a former professional investigator for bringing some of the day-to-day details into context. Beautifully balanced. Highly highly recommend.
-
Liv Taylor!:)Could do without DerekMore Stephanie less Derek. All he brings to the table is mansplaining interrogation tactics and talking about being on big brother. Don’t care about either, just stop.
-
DeeMean212WowYou two are really dopey.
-
DrapagsArmchair detective + real detective= 2 starsI am not sure what Stephanie’s background is in, but I know it’s not in the legal system or mental health system. She is very quick to harshly criticize judges, lawyers, the police, and mental health professionals based on what I’m pretty sure is a lack of knowledge. If she thinks she can do it better, than go do it! Armchair detectives will never be real detectives (like Derrick). The two stars are for Derrick as I appreciate his real world experience and ability to play devil’s advocate.
-
DDPirateDerrick > StephanieShe is so annoying. Listen to your co-host…you don’t have to be the loudest in the room. How can you sympathize with Jose and Kitty? OJ was found not guilty. Unless you were there with Nicole and her boyfriend, you don’t know a thing. You should be more respectful to your co-host. Derrick—you should make your own second podcast. Ditch her. You’re much better on your own. I’m listening to Asha Degree…Stephanie is so snarky. I reiterate my plea: ditch her, Derrick.
-
rcc_champMy favoriteAfter giving up one of the true crime podcasts I listened to because its vibe changed, I saw Crime Weekly as a suggestion in Reddit. I’m so glad because Stephanie and Derrick do the work. I love Stephanie’s informational delivery and Derrick’s insights. Honestly, I enjoy the long multi-part series they do too. Please ignore the trolls who make everything personal. These two do their best to be their best and deliver the story respectfully. Give them a listen. It’s worth it.
