Voxology (Formerly the Vox Podcast with Mike Erre) is a collection of voices that question and discuss our culture's most relevant topics in relation to Christ and Christianity. We talk LGBTQ, American and church politics, Christian culture's catastrophic marginalization of the very people Jesus implores us to love and so much more. If you have serious questions about the church’s representation of Jesus, what he has done and the beauty of his work on earth today, join hosts Mike Erre and Tim Stafford and their guests to talk things out and find your way back to the true mission of Jesus.

    Pure Gold!!!!
All of you are and have been a light upon a hill for years. Thank you for keeping me sane and for helping me hold on to a mustard seed of faith when I daily want to throw it all away. Especially now. Especially today. I am endlessly grateful. Peace and Love DT

Let’s Calm Down on the zillion-part series
I love this podcast and all of the important issues they talk about. HOWEVER, I really wish Mike & Tim would give each episode a unique name rather than the same title with endless parts. It makes me feel like I can’t jump in and listen unless I go back 6 months and get in on every single episode leading up to the most recent one. And that sounds overwhelming, so why even try? Guys, for the love of new beginnings, just get a little creative sprinkle to title names and help us all to feel like it’s safe to climb aboard the Voxology johnboat anytime we please.🪄 🛶 🪄 🙏🏼

    Beautiful
How is this podcast not more popular?? I’ve listened to about 10 episodes now and when I finish each episode, I’m thinking wow, Jesus is beautiful. It gives me fresh vision for how I want to show up in this world as a follower of Jesus. I appreciate Mike’s loving, straightforward, non-uptight, honest discussion of tough topics and enjoy the humor and energy of the show.
  • From Genesis to Revelation
    Thought provoking and practical
I like the way Mike looks at spiritual matters in a practical, non-pretentious manner. He presents the topics with evidence, logic, reason. Definitely worth listening.

    Love it all
I have been listening since the very first episode. Mike, Seth, Tim and their guests have radically reshaped my theology. This podcast has reignited a passion for Christ and what his kingdom on earth should look like. Keep up the good work!

    Thank you…. thank you…. thank you ;)
I appreciate this podcast so much. I also grew up in the evangelical church world. And have been “deconstructing” and this podcast has helped me to see other interpretations and patterns of thinking that is different then what I grew up with. As a woman I’m working through all the shaming messages I received in the purity culture and how to move forward. My husband is a pastor and your podcast has sparked so much conversation for the two of us. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!! :)

Thoughtful, gracious, irreverent, funny and engaging. I look forward to listening every week.

    Honest and Hopeful
I found this podcast through listening to The Holy Post. I am so thankful to hear these voices in today’s noise and culture wars. I just listened to the podcast about Guns and God and my heart is grieved and weeping but I applaud Mike and Tim for bringing scripture, lament, and righteous anger to this discussion in such a thoughtful and helpful way. I loved the song and prayer at the end by both of them.

    Went off the deep end
I really liked Mike when he was at EV free. These days he seems like he’s really taken in by the news and has begun to sound like a CNN teleprompter script. I can’t stomach it. Bummer.

    Thanks for all you do
I’m a recent listener. I am so glad I found you 2. If there is a more honest, loving, thoughtful discussion of theology and religion, I’ve not heard it. I also listen to The Holy Post and they are there, right with you. If there is a hopeful future for Christianity, which I trust there is, you all are helping all of us “out here” live into it. Thank you so much and please keep on keeping on. Mike in Minerva, Ohio

Some good themes but takes a long time to get to it.
Pastor Bethany says she needs a definition of effeminate. She is clueless and so are you as to why people aren’t coming to church. GOP has taken over and the last place I want to be is a church , especially fundamentalist or evangelical , not that I know the difference , maybe degrees of unkindness. A better place I find most inspiring these days to worship is nature and pray and heat or speak the word. And serve needy. Not a head and money counting place like Bethany thinks is so great. I’ve given this podcast a good try . I’m done

    Dangerous Ideologies
If you are looking for biblical wisdom, discernment, and truth avoid this podcast….. before any podcast seek God’s word and a wise mentor, and some biblically sound resources for podcast are The Just Thinking Podcast, Alisa Childers, Relatable and Center for Biblical Unity. (Just to name a few) Someone recommended this podcast to me and after just one episode ( however I listened to multiple) it was obvious that these men are not speaking truth, affirming sinful behavior in the name of loving they neighbor, and manipulating scripture. Jesus is the word in flesh from Genesis to Revelation and your interpretation of him in the name of loving others is false.

    My favorite weekly podcast!
I love this podcast. It has challenged me to live out my faith in a more Jesus-center way, challenged me to live out my life in a posture of worship, and challenged me to take the words of Jesus to truth as I love my neighbor as myself. I’ve so grateful for Mike and Tim- and even more so for SETH!!

    Grateful for these conversations!
I stumbled upon this podcast through a Google search after reading a book by Matthew Bates and craving some discussion about it. Mike’s ability to condense volumes of biblical scholarship into an accessible, down-to-earth conversation is truly exceptional. The subjects discussed expose and challenge my presuppositions in the best way. Meaning, I would have HATED this podcast 10 years ago when I thought I had the Bible all figured out. Lol

    Seth Erre Rocks!
Come for the great discussion with Mike and Tim, but stay for the awesome presence of SETH ERRE baby!!! Love you Seth!

    Deconstruction with humility
Lots of deconstruction podcasts have a kind of hubris to them as they critique the evangelical church. Mike and Tim usually maintain a kind of humble attitude as they work through these issues.
  • workoutrunner
    Love this podcast!
Mike and Tim are great! I love their openness and willingness to tackle important topics. My own understanding of Christian reality has shifted over the years and I resonate with so much of what they say! Keep up the fantastic work!

Wherein two wokesters overlook the abject racism of abortion practice
So nonsensical. Erre at one point insinuates Christians are more concerned with abortion and than race inequality, when in fact the extremely high abortion rates for black women in comparison to the rest shows the racism inherent in abortion and the exploitation of black women. So absurd for white woke Christians to claim Christians against abortion should be less concerned in relative terms with abortion. Mike overlooks the abortion genocide of black baby. For shame.

    Love these guys!
I strongly believe you could build a faithful community pursuing Jesus by simply working out in community the topics they discuss. Love journeying with the Vox folks.

    Excellent
This podcast, the Bible project, and ask NT write anything are the only three theology oriented podcasts I listen to anymore. It's a great combination of insight and humor.

    So thankful for this podcast
As someone in the process of reconstructing a deconstructed faith, Voxology has been absolutely essential. I don’t always agree with everything, but that’s kind of the point, a fantastic podcast and community where I can feel free to wrestle with doubts and rediscover the beauty of Jesus. So thankful!

Another in the long line of “deconstruction” podcasts
Just another podcast in the long line of deconstruction podcast capitalizing on a trend that assumes that all white evangelicals are Fox News, trump lovers who have no thoughts outside of what tucker Carlson puts inside their heads. It’s lazy and doesn’t take into account most people’s views. Don’t waste your time.

Excellent resource for the Christian and non Christian alike
Love the guy and how he interviews and asks questions. Also love his button down, flip flop aesthetic. What a legend.

    So thrilled
I’m 60 something new listener & I am so thrilled! First off Seth is a great announcer and I love hearing him insure on the show he’s terrific and my heart is very warm towards him so tell him I love him. The topic of your podcast hit exactly the buttons of that I’ve been fighting my whole Christian life as an adult Jesus follower or learner.Your review of midnight mass on Netflix caught my eye, and caught my ear. KaitlynAdded some great perspective to the discussion, and I felt free to go ahead and watch it. And was blown away. Right now I am listening to the discussion on “the God calling” , And what that means for life decisions. I’m looking forward to diving into the podcast with further episodes. Keep up the good work!

    So, so enjoy!!!
I found Voxology through The Holy Post Podcast a year or so ago. Started listening as The Vox Podcast. This is such a comfortable place to hear truth about Jesus and the life of Christians. I felt like I just needed to leave a review after the God’s Will episode. Such good stuff coming out of this podcast. It’s fresh, honest, and fun. If you’re looking for good honest Christian content this is the place for you. 👍🏻👍🏻 way up!

    Thank you!!
I can’t recommend this podcast enough! The past few years has been an intense time of questioning the faith and ideas I inherited. Listening to the conversations here has helped me know I’m not alone in that journey and that the new perspectives I’m embracing are not crazy, but instead bringing me to a deeper and wider understanding of God’s love and the scope of the Gospel. Thanks for being faithful and for letting us eavesdrop on your conversations!

So enriching, I can’t get enough!
Mike and Tim have been a beacon of light for me since I was recommended this podcast by a commenter on the Holy Post FB page. The Sermon on the Mount series is fantastic and has opened my eyes and enriched my life in so many ways. I look forward to each and every podcast now, and I absolutely love when Seth is featured, he brings a great big smile to my face!

    Authenticity
The authenticity of this podcast is difficult to find elsewhere. The hosts do not claim to be geniuses or experts, rather they approach conversations about the Bible honestly, as believers trying to understand. Furthermore, they often invite guests onto the show whom they may disagree with, to discuss and understand viewpoints and stances they do not hold themselves. Those conversations are incredibly edifying, and even strengthening for my own faith. There are few others I would trust to walk me through examining my beliefs with a critical eye, with the intention of living true, authentic, intelligent faith. Thanks guys!!

    Challenging my Traditional Christian Views
Seismic Mike and the entire team have challenged me to question why I believe what I believe. I love Jesus. But does Jesus love my judgmental attitude? NOPE. Started listening back in April 2021 and now started from the beginning. The Spiritual Abuse series in 2016 was extremely powerful for me. Give them a listen. You won’t regret. Thank you Voxology!

    Encouraging
I found this podcast after listening to an episode of The Holy Post. Like that podcast, this one has given me hope that there are still people in America trying to stay true to what God has called us to do through Christ and having intelligent conversations about it. We are all learning to be more like Christ, and this podcast gives good material for that purpose. Thank you! I absolutely love hearing Seth, too!

    Spiritual abuse
Wow. Thank you for that episode on spiritual abuse. It was very helpful and described a decade long experience, not at a church, but working for Dave Ramsey (Ramsey Solutions). Thankful, I’ve received counseling and found a group of people who experienced similar and can say “Yes. That happened to me too.” Keep up the good work on these difficult but needed topics.

    Amazing
This podcast hits the nail on the head and every time. As a Christian, I’ve wrestled with all of these questions, and Mike and Andy offer compassionate and Biblically sound answers. Love it!

    Wow loving this
Thank you, thank you for your humility and pursuit of Jesus in front of us and talking about real issues that we’re all living. Can’t wait to hear more.

Thank you, Mike and Tim. You’re providing direction for many in our own “troubled times”.
These two men are doling out some of the best teaching on the scriptures that has no denominational or political bent. They do not follow the teachings of Luther, Calvin, Wesley, etc… They follow the teachings of Jesus himself. Thank you guys. This teaching has been so incredibly important to me in the past year.

Awesomeness! I love the fresh perspectives on things that you all provide. It is refreshing to hear people with a love for the Bible that are not rigid. Keep it coming!

    I’m here for it
This podcast has given me language and thought reframing concerning the Christian faith that I’ve wrestled with/thought about but recently started exploring, and I’m here for it. The idea of thinking in old creation vs new creation is something I’m taking to help shape how I view things.

Nourishment for my apprenticeship of Jesus the Christ.
    Very thankful for Mike’s, Tim’s, and many of the guest voices brought onto the show. Their theology is solid, and even in the minor, non bullseye issues of theology that I may disagree with them on, they have great arguments, and I can respect how they land where they do. Their voices are refreshing in a time where Christians are seemingly so split over issues of spirituality, theology, justice, and culture, where they walk the line of “Well, how would Jesus handle that?” And take the question really seriously, and use historical context and a good biblical hermeneutic to make a judgement on these issues. PS. Tim, please put the “misfit” song out somewhere, it is too good to be kept hidden! Who has a light and puts it under a basket? (;

    Thoughtful Wrestling
I have listened to Mike Erre’s podcast since he began it and I’ve loved to see how he has grown in his love, wisdom and joy in studying and walking with Jesus. I have had a lot of theological unpacking to do in regards to my fundamentalist evangelical upbringing and this podcast has been the perfect companion.
