    Terrific!
I have been listening for a while and I always enjoy your cheerfulness and bringing up different approaches to a situation, e.g., dealing with family dynamics, from different angles. Thank you much!

    My wife loves you, but…
I have a serious issue with an episode she wanted me to hear entitled, “God’s Plan For Your Fertility.” The title is very misleading. The information your guest presented on women’s hormones was clear and concise, and I have zero issues with it, except for the ridiculous notion to “be more nurturing to the wife and children after ovulation” nonsense. Oh, so basically just be a good husband, and we’ll get more sex is what you’re saying? It’s actually a little insulting. But where my true concerns arise is around the lighthearted discussion about NFP, as if it is just an acceptable practice, which it is not. There was nary a mention of “God’s Plan” within the entire discussion, most likely because traditional Catholic teaching on this topic is too difficult for the majority of Catholics today. There was no mention of what the “serious/grave/just reasons” are to use NFP in the first place. Sorry, but “I don’t want another child” is not a reason. THAT is YOUR plan, it might not be God’s Plan. If you fully and faithfully trust and believe in God’s plan for you, why wouldn’t you trust Him in your most important calling as a married couple? The primary purpose of marriage is the procreation and education of children. There needs to be a serious examination of your conscience if that is your main purpose behind your justification of using NFP. I’m not arguing that NFP isn’t legitimate. It most certainly is when used for the right reasons. But for the vast majority of Catholics today, it is being wildly misused and abused.

    Thank you for this podcast!
I just recently came across your podcast. I really enjoy your approach to Catholic womanhood. Unfortunately, I don’t have children of my own as I met my husband later in life. I sometimes struggle with trying to find a way to fit into parish life. I really appreciate your welcoming and warm manner. I’ve listened to a few podcast episodes so far and I’m looking forward to listening to many more! Thank you for your ministry and all you do to support and affirm Catholic women, moms, and families!

As someone who has struggled in my community and in my parish to find women and moms to share the struggles and joys of parenting a young child within the Catholic faith, I am so grateful to Danielle and all of her guests. I find inspiration, camaraderie, advice, and grounding in every single episode. And Danielle has inspired me to be a little braver in deepening my participation in my community. So very grateful!!

Just the right think at the right time
I e joy listening to Danielle because she is REAL. I can relate to the challenges she discusses as a mom and wife and helps me to realize I’m not the only one feeling this way. But also has practical (sometimes challenging) advice that really mealies a difference in my heart upon my preparation to embark on a 90 day fast and dedication to daily prayer, I heard her mention that we are obsessed with being efficient. But the answer is not always getting more done but making connections with those in our lives without getting any “work” done is an investment in myself and my family and friends. Thanks Danielle!

I’m not a mom, nor am I of age to be one, but I consider this to be an excellent part of my preparation as one! Thanks for this and God bless.

    Enjoyable and Engaging
I just found Girlfriends a week ago and just listened for the first time today. I’ve never been into podcasts before as I feel they can’t hold my attention and can be boring but wow, Girlfriends is fantastic. I’m so glad I have started listening. It is so wonderful to be able to listen to a fellow Catholic sister with such a caring attitude, down to earth personality, vast knowledge, and also an engaging and beautiful voice. I definitely plan on listening more and I can not wait for all episodes to come. Thankful to be apart of the girlfriends community. 😁

    Danielle Bean’s Girlfriends Podcast
I learned of Danielle’s podcast within the past year through the Ascension website. I enjoy them so much! I truly appreciate her calm, caring voice and how she speaks to and with others. You can tell she honestly cares about others and you can feel her great love for God in how she speaks. She wants to help others develop a relationship with him or bring them closer in their relationship with him. Danielle is a wonderful speaker and author. I have definitely grown in my relationship with God through listening to her podcast. I love the variety of topics she discusses as well as listening to the inspirational guests she has on her podcast. I can always learn something new! She is a very relatable person and I think that helps draw people to her. I hope she continues making these podcasts as I believe they truly are beneficial in helping draw people closer to Christ. Keep on speaking and writing, Danielle, and God bless you! 🙏✝️

    This isn’t for faithful feminists.
I was so excited about finding a podcast about Catholicism and our faith, made *by* women *for* women. However, I was incredibly disappointed to find out Danielle’s stances on the intersections of feminism and faith. The point that made me stop listening was the bash on women’s fashion in the workplace and the unnecessary commentary about trying to “look like men” (on an episode about motherhood…?). What on earth does that have to do with my faith? Why does wearing a power suit have to be separate from a woman’s faith? Her disparaging comments on modern feminism are wholeheartedly misguided - I get the feeling she doesn’t understand the true meaning of feminism in a modern age and as a result, how it might weave into a modern woman’s faith in Catholicism. I understand some women want to follow traditional paths of womanhood. That’s perfectly fine - in fact, feminism celebrates that ability to choose that lifestyle. What I don’t understand is her gross misrepresentation that feminism forces women to choose a “right” path. It’s simply uninformed and I will be choosing a more welcoming podcast to explore my faith. I’ll pray that Danielle finds in her heart the ability to see things through another, less judgmental lens.

Thank you for being *that* friend
Danielle, thank you for being a holy woman of God and helping to lead us women to a deeper faith in the real world. I want to come sit with you in your tiki bar and have a chat about life, kids and faith. This podcast is a great substitute. I do feel like I’m chatting with a friend and getting great advice to live a better life.
