I guess if you want to hear women bash men it could be for you

I know all the presenters and most of their guests are English, but I do think that a podcast that bills itself as being “for all women” might do a bit more news about what’s going on in the other parts of the UK. They treat Scotland as a joke. There’s the Edinburgh fringe (good, worth bothering with) and literally everything else about Scotland (bad, silly, laughing stock) Considering Scottish voters are generally more progressive and Tory-detesting, I’d have thought Scotland would be more to the hosts’ tastes in many ways. That would be if they bothered themselves to get educated about it.

And interesting, and funny! So many terrific guests- Standard Issue is for ALL women- but not just for women!

I've just started listening and find SIM informative and entertaining. It helps this American woman understand more about the current state of politics and government workings here at home as well as in the U.K. I may even start listening to the bit about sport. And thank you for swearing.

I just discovered the Standard Issue from the episode with Anna Newton of the AnnaEdit. I love the premise of the podcast and its women focused mission. Between that and awesome guests, I'm hooked! Definitely worth a listen.

I’m a Brit living abroad and for the accents alone, this is great commuting listening. I mostly prefer the gig casts, and enjoy those best when they take a genuine improvised, spontaneous turn. Might only be me who finds some questions repetitive and formulaic, such as ‘what’s the best/worst...’. Still, it’s refreshing to hear an all women panel, mostly ‘cos no-one sounds like they’re trying to hog the attention or be overly competitive. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to Ep3, recorded in Glasgow.

I came across Standard Issue because I was seeking out more Sarah Millican material. At first I was sad that it wasn't just her and some fellow comedians chatting and being hilarious all day. But then I realized I hadn't turned the podcast off and was really enjoying the discussion. I think it was the drunk women solving crime one. I've listened to many of the episodes now and really really enjoy the host, the guests, how they tell us things like women's sports outcomes (SO nice to hear football/soccer results about women's teams for once!), etc. Though I would say that the commentary on women's issues has a liberal bent, I'm not sad about it and I don't feel like it's pushy. It seems to put more of a focus on equality and health and options for women instead of hateful things or bashing of other groups. More please!

I found this after seeing Sarah Millican’s holiday tweets, and always loving her comedy. The combination of humor and warmth can’t be beat.

Can’t get enough of this witty clever show! Sound quality was a bit sketch in earlier episodes but they seem to have worked it out. No suggestions, just keep bringing more of the same!

Always a fresh take on women's isues with a full dose of comedy and what the f* thrown in. Love this show.

Great podcast that looks at current events (news, sports, media, films) through humor, feminism and a keen eye. Well done - looking forward to more.

Huge Sarah Millican fan and love standard Issue so gave this a go and really glad I did. All my favourite women seem to be on and all are so smart and witty. Wish I could be in the audience but I'm in the USA now but won't miss a show via podcast . Thanks girls 😉👯
