    I’ve learned a lot
John, please find the cough button or simply move the mic. My ears can’t take much more. Otherwise, highly educational and usually entertaining!!!

    New audio is atrocious
Whatever system you’re using now is picking up every blasted lipsmack etc. Super unprofessional. It’s driving me nuts. Will not subscribe to YouTube channel as asked until the audio is cleaned up. Also, Mandel has been unlistenable for a long time. Longtime listener but I am actively looking for alternatives. Halperin’s platform has become a viable substitute in part.

    Seth so long winded
Please, Seth. Keep your stories short. And you don’t need to repeat your same point 6 different ways. We got it the first time. It’s ponderous.

    Burisma Informant Admitted to Lying
Hi - I really enjoy your show, as it challenges some of my l we-jerk liberal assumptions and I always learn something. But earlier you referenced the “Biden Crime Family” and I assume you were referring to Burisma bribery allegations. But now that the key informant has admitted to lying about it all, will you mention that the whole investigation was built on a house of cards?

    Listener since 2020
This podcast is a great daily listen. Super smart, common sense analysis of the daily goings on. I love the rants they are all capable of going on, this podcast comes out everyday so they all have more than enough time to get their takes off, chill out whiners. Love you guys, never change.

    The Best Podcast in Poddom
John, this is a smart informative POD cast. I’ve come to realize it’s the only one I wait for to be released each day. Keep up the good work.

    John’s can’t miss analysis
I am a Japanese in Bethesda and I listen to the podcast every day. At the end of the “Deep dive on Syria” episode, John gives an analysis that is one for the history books. “History is contingent on human action and luck and bad decision making.” Why did Sinwar think that Oct 7 might work? Japan made some pretty bad decisions in 1941 too. But after the war, Japan gave up trying to prove itself right and focused on working hard. Like Trump says, the ultimate revenge is to be successful.

    Verbose much?
This pod suffers from a total lack of editing which can be very frustrating, especially when John Podhoretz is speaking (read: rambling), so one must endure endless pauses, unfinished sentences, lots of ums and ahs. It can be hard to deal with and the pod could be half its length were it edited or if the better speakers (Christine and Seth speak very well; Abe speaks well enough) were given MUCH more air time.

    I treasure this podcast
I started listening to Commentary after hearing Sam Harris interview Christine Rosen on his podcast. It’s like I found my people. Nuanced conversations from thoughtful, deep, and highly rational thinkers. They expand my horizons on every episode.

What’s with all the background noise?
I listen everyday and I love the podcast. However, for some time now in addition to the great conversation, I hear constant background noise. Tapping, chair squeaks, street noise etc, etc, etc. It’s really distracting. What’s going on? Is it just me?

    Ukraine
Just listening to the 12/4 podcast. Trump’s “drill, baby, drill” policy will, I think affect that war (and Iran’s against all and sundry) as much as does military action. I listen to this podcast regularly. It continues to be excellent, informative, and entertaining, and I appreciate it very much. But it seems that Matt Continetti is becoming the co-host, or even the lead host. He directs the conversation, his tone is that of the one who is the answerer for all questions, the teacher, and he usually talks too long, organizing the discussion and making interminable points. Is this just his style, or has John Podhoretz decided to share his position?

I check in occasionally to see what has become of this once great podcast (and magazine). Sad to say, it has descended into Trumpian madness. Glad I dropped my subscription to both.

    Stop talking, Matt
Matt Continetti continues to ruin the once great Commentary podcast. He interrupts constantly and acts as if he is the all-knowing master of any topic. Just listen. John, Abe or Christine will make a really interesting point, and Matt will invariably jump in to add his two cents as if we just can’t do without his pearls of wisdom. And most of the time his intrusions into others comments are just so bland. He’s got a keen sense of the obvious. Why does he bother me so much? Because his non-stop blathering - and his constant laughing at his own comments - is such a drag to listen to. If it weren’t for Abe and Christine - who barely get a word in edgewise - I would stop listening altogether. Continetti’s insufferable pontificating has destroyed a great pod. John - I am begging you - rein him in!!!!

    Take a breath
Topics are spot on. Wish John P would take a breath and let his co-hosts speak more.

Now I listen twice a day!
This podcast was always my mid day pleasure, but now that they’re on YouTube, I end up watching it again every day. You hear better when you see it.

    Ads in Spanish
Get rid of ads in Spanish. This is America, and to have a united country, all foreigners need to assimilate and learn to speak English. That is our national language. Have we not learnt anything from Europe and their troubles that originate from parallel societies?! Forego the revenue from such ads, otherwise you are supporting such societal division.

John Podhoretz drones on and on
He rambles on far too much. Please collect your thoughts , learn to get to the point, and then speak. Let your co-hosts talk for once, and try being more measured in your delivery. You're tiresome to listen to. Just because daddy left you in charge doesn't mean you're cut out for the podcasting job.

    Great Pod
“Trump himself is not horrified by the idea of a traditional republican foreign policy” - Seth “Trump doesn’t hate Mitch McConnell” - Seth Daily listener, I love you all, but I almost spit my coffee out at those lines. I understand wanting to be hopeful but come on.

    Good show
Wish John and the guys would let Christine finish her points. She also has the best one liners. Funny lady.

    The party of billionaires lol
Today the whole panel assailed the Democratic Party as “the party of billionaires” Have they already forgotten the two men who were such major supporters of the Republican nominee, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos? I believe they are richer than any Democrat.

    The day post election
Finally!! All of y'all are finally articulating what all of us, the "low information voters" (such an offensive term from such a place of ivory tower arrogance) have been seeing and didn't need to opine about, daily.
  • Leon Joyeux
    Reflection
Peter Savodnik may have said it best: “They didn’t lose because they didn’t spend enough money. They didn’t lose because they failed to trot out enough celebrity influencers. They lost because they were consumed by their own self-flattery, their own sense of self-importance.”
  • Mr Fun 2
    I’ve moved on
John Podhoretz TDS has finally gotten the best of me. The show has become misanthropic - they denigrate (hate) everyone. Started listening because of my interest/support of Israel. They seem to have a problem with IFF - Identification Friend or Foe.
  • PunkoMusic
    Great!
Great podcast. Im a daily listener. Although Seth & Christine often struggle to make a point concisely. They use 200 words, where 100 would suffice
  • M Ryan W
    Daily listener
I’ve been listening to this every day for about three years - it’s a great insight into a variety of political topics. However, lately I feel that someone needs to tell Matt this is not his daily show and to stop interrupting everyone else. Especially Christine and Abe.
  • Viridescent1
    Much needed
This is a well rounded group. They crack me up, but also get into the detail of heavy topics. I’m sad I haven’t discovered them sooner.
  • MQDean
Always listen to every show but …
… I have gotten to the point of skipping John P’s contributions and focusing on the other two or three. John P interrupts and takes center stage, when I think the others have more interesting points but are swatted down. Starting to drive me crazy so I skip forward until I hear the other voices. :(

Wow, such doom - everything falling apart!
I think you overdid the nauseating doom response to your colleague’s admonishment, for recently appearing too trump friendly! Doom doom doom! I can hardly stand finishing this podcast! Get a hold of yourselves! The Left’s antisemitic, pro-war, pro-abortion, anti-science anti-woman trans activism, tear it all down fervor may well result in national chaos, no matter who wins. The Right will likely turn away from this election, be with their families, at their jobs, and attending religious services, in search of what is truly meaningful. Policy matters more than Politics

    2 weeks to go
2 weeks to go and they state Trump had a great fun weekend. The man ranted about the enemy within naming his political opponents suggesting he should use the military to thwart them and they don’t mention it. I don’t think these people actually care about our country. Partisan hacks

    Great podcast
I really enjoy this podcast. It’s a great place to get informed opinion from the right. There’s always a fair degree of humor interjected into the content, which I really enjoy. A+

The Best Daily Commentary on Everything!
John Podhoretz, Abe, Christine, Matt, and Seth have been a daily ritual for me for years, but during this election season with so many others solely reporting their team’s talking points or collapsing into perpetual “I hate my enemy” screeds, this is always the place for unvarnished analysis, yes through a conservative Jewish lens, but accepting and acknowledging the positive and negative of all sides. So thoughtful and we’re all smarter for having listened.
  • Bondi98
    Let them go
From your podcast today - it is Alan Dershowitz who came up with that. He has been saying it all year, that bring them home was wrong message for exact reasons you stated.

    Everyday listener
I don’t get why there are so many reviews on here telling various members of the podcast to stop talking… you’re literally clicking on this podcast to listen to people talk for an hour. This is like attending a live concert and complaining that there is loud music playing. Anyway- you all are great. Don’t listen to the haters.

    Trashing Zibby Owens, really?!
So John disparages Zibby Owens, who supports Jewish authors after they get review bombed on Goodreads because they are Jewish (Talia Carner - The Boy with the star tattoo), who’s publishing On Being Jewish Now to raise money to support antisemitism, who pulled her sponsorship from the National Book Awards as some authors were planning to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. An influential Jew who sticks up for Jews and he has a problem with her? Very nasty. And her podcast has about 10 times the number of sponsors that his does.

Not religious but I love this show!
If you may enjoy listening to a group of colleagues speak openly and critically across lines then this is the show. Smart, kind people thinking through the issues of the day. Very highly recommended. You don’t need to be religious to appreciate these great people’s insights. Anyone who enjoys a deeper dive into today’s issues should enjoy this. Conservative? Yes, however it’s all discussed in a spirit of openness and exploration. I listen to every episode. Thank you, guys!

    Veep debate
It’s funny how John & company find it vexing that Harris is reluctant to do more interviews, but they are less bothered by Trump’s refusal to do another debate. It’s also odd how John & company were not particularly bothered by Vance’s reaction to the final question related to January 6th. If his reaction to this most important question is not disqualifying, what is? Who are the knuckleheads now?

I listened to the end. I want Eli’s AI song. He could do one about the debate.

    Could be so much better
The podcast would be so much better if John would give at least half the airtime to the others rather than keeping 80% for himself. He is just too enamored with his long-winded and repetitive opinions.
  • Annonymous II
    Correction to John
John recommended “The Best Years of Our Lives”. I agree. Movie is fantastic. John, you incorrectly stated Frederick March went to the airplane graveyard. It was actually Dana Andrews, not March.

    A Learner’s Playground
This podcast is ideal for anyone striving to learn: world events, national news, societal trends and much more. And what sets this podcast apart from others of a similar genre are the 80s references, high caliber vocabulary and the valuable book and film recommendations from the last minutes of each episode. I am an avid Commentary Mag groupie and daily listener. Can’t get enough of the crushing morosity… but it’s worse than that! (Insider’s joke that you’ll have to listen to the podcast to appreciate.)
