Mostly him pushing affiliate links. Topics are nonsense, bordering misinformation
I know a lot of content these days are driven by individuals trying to make money, but this is ridiculous. He brings on guests with no substance who spews garbage. All so he can shove as many ads as possible to manipulate people into buying so that he can profit. Although I’d point out those ads hold more value than what I heard from his most recent episode about pain & pleasure. I couldn’t take it anymore. I’m disappointed after reading the reviews about this show and a rating of 4.5. I wish I could get that time back, but maybe this review will help others to not waste their time.

You took “SYSK” from stuff you should know podcast!
I don’t understand how you could rip off my favorite all time podcast.

    Best podcast I’ve ever seen
I really enjoy listening to your releases. This is what a curious mind needs to pursue on a daily basis.

    Getting worse (pseudoscience)
Used to love this show, but lately he’s been bringing a lot of quacks and conspiracy theorists on. He had Tim Spector (the pseudoscience promoter) say that counting calories does not work🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. You have to be pretty stupid to not believe in the law of thermodynamics. Also, conspiracy theory views of the medical industry don’t help.

    Fascinating
I’ve learned so many things on here! Thank you for pursuing such topics. I’ve also gotten ideas of books I can get from the library for further reading. I’m a disabled 65 year old and love the stimulation on so many levels!

    Great podcast!
I love walking with your often updated podcasts. The guests provide information from their research or books that isn’t just “liberal” or mainstream news popular opinion.

    Adding to my life
I listen to something you should know because there are interesting guests and helpful information from the host. There is something in every episode that I either did not know before or that expands my knowledge of it. And, Mike, I am still hooked on listening to Something You Should Know!

Stop with the “You might also like” episodes please
Great podcast. Been listening for years, BUT it’s resulted in getting spam in my podcast feed by regularly throwing in full episodes of other podcasts. Your content speaks for itself. Don’t be greedy with the marketing.

Great Topics, Fantastic Questions, A Favorite
A podcast worth a multiple day binge, for weeks. Easy to listen to, great topics and interesting guests. Truly enjoy.

    Excellent Podcast
Music… I don’t agree with that "10%" of people dislike music. It’s like saying those people dislike sound. Sounds and Music is intertwined. Excellent show. Thank You Very Much DDH Having a Sense of Belonging is Very Important.!!!!!!! People who believe that they are Extroverts or Introverts based on the Myers-Briggs Personality Test using the + and - isn’t particularly useful. How introverted is that person or how extroverted is that person etc??? There’s different levels of personality traits etc. I’m sure you know that. Thank you

    Incomparable
Mike, you are the best podcast host of all time! Your manner of questioning and the way you steer the conversation with your guests is just phenomenal! You are the best interviewer ever!

  • Does my opinion finally count
    LOVE THIS PODCAST!!!
I really enjoy how Mike brings the common sense questions to his guests that I was also wondering. He probes where it needs to be probed. Thanks for that. Also his show has an excellent variety of subjects, even within the same episodes. Some podcasts I can’t wait until they have been finished, because they are extremely long, not his. These are just the right length and contain the right interesting content to keep my attention. Keep up the great work.

Great interviews and lots of interesting information…
I subscribe to other podcasts similar to Mike’s and I often find that the same guess are interviewed. Then I have moments of déjà vu. One thing I’ve learned over the years of listening to Mike, he sounds like a huge “germaphobe”.
  • Tag32
Great interviews plus you learn something
I enjoy how when he interviews people, and he asks questions that I’m wondering about. He applies it to his life, and makes the info be more easily digested. Light topics but interesting.

    Thank you so much, Mike
I am listening to the show where you discuss placebo’s and I want to tell what I did Several months ago for several months have an issue falling back to sleep. (This is after waking to use the restroom). Anyway, I really didn’t to take "the common” over-the-counter sleep aid because it was rumored to laced with all kinds of junk. So what I did take a white tic tack (the candy) swallowed it like a pill. I still use the breathing technique I 3 breaths in 1 long slow out breath through works every time. However at that particular stretch, I needed an additional aid! Thanks again,tAlison lSchuback

    Talmudic Slop
I’ve never come across a wellness podcast that goes so far out of its way to attack Christianity. These attacks are completely unrelated and in bad taste! How can I trust you with my health if you attack our faith!!??

    Informative show
I listen to this show all of the time and definitely find it very interesting and informative.
  • GetOutside23
    First time listener
Just tried listening for the first time and couldn’t make it past the half-way point. The way the host rudely talked over/at and dismissed the guest on the Good Friends episode that came out 2 days ago was off-putting and there were multiple sound editing errors. Seems like you have a lot of cool topics, but I won’t be listening again.

    Sad mention
Enjoyed this podcast, but was disappointed to hear forcing crickets to fight for entertainment or money this week. That made me both embarrassed and sad for society. Don’t include the casual reference to the abuse of a living creature or point out that it is not moral.
  • kprice1957
    A variety of interesting topics
This has got to be the best podcast out there. So many interesting topics and a variety of subjects. There is something here for everyone.

    Always Something!
Such a great all-around podcast. Easy listening and you always learn something interesting. No matter what kind of mood you’re in or if you can’t decide what to listen to, if you pick SYSK, you’ll likely be in a better mood and will be happy with your choice!

    Restaurants
Hi! Since you asked and I did have a reaction to the episode about restaurants, here goes. First, as you both readily admitted the interview was very much from the restaurant point of view as opposed to the customer’s and it would have been more interesting to present both, but my more important reaction was that, because I live in New York City, I accept the high prices most of the time—everything seems way too expensive and I’m actually glad that post Covid—they have to pay their employees more. The really big problem for me—and I’m not a twenty something bar hopper—is the noise level. When I eat out, a very important part of the experience is the conversation and that has become impossible in many if not most restaurants today. I really hate having to shout to make myself heard. Just saying…. Ellen

    I love this show
The host does an excellent job of fully exploring the topic with anyone he interviews. He respectfully challenges them while exploring their views. It one of my “go-to” podcast.

    Something someone should know…
In the ep 1.041 title, “Everyday” should be two words. It’s only one word when used as an adjective.

Perfect Podcast for Easily Bored People! So interesting
I first started listening to Stuff You should Know because Matt Paxton (Hoarders) was a guest. But then the next episode came on and I quickly learned about Van Halen and brown M&Ms…then another about how to provide an amazing experience like Disney…then another. I can get bored, especially when learning about things that don’t interest me. I usually listen to crime but I am so impressed with the interviews and interviewer. He listens and asks great questions, always letting the expert speak. This is my new favorite podcast!

My favorite podcast show is Something You Should Know!
I absolutely love listening to this show! I anticipate & listen to every new episode & when there isn’t a new one I catch up on the previous episodes. Sometimes I enjoy replaying an episode because I know there will always be something to be had that I’ve missed. I love the fact that I know I’ll learn something interesting every single episode no matter what the topics are & there truly is something for everyone. The topics are relevant to the current times & I find myself referring to this show a lot in day to day conversation. I’ve truly gained knowledge from this show & can’t wait to gain even more! I’m 33 years old, from Maine United States, thank you so much! P.S Mike, I love your voice!!! I love your challenging questions to the guests. The blunt but respectful “why does this matter” gets what really matters laid out on the table & in a less complicated view. (To me anyway) More people should ask those types of questions when interviewing. Thank you for existing!! Love, Meredith G.

    Treat yourself to this podcast!
Just discovered this and so happy I did. Filled with insightful, down to earth conversations between knowledgeable people on a broad range of subjects. Each episode contains several different topics, each one offering new perspectives on the human experience. And did I mention that it’s beautifully done?

Great interview on social media and collective illusion. I hadn’t heard this information before now, and I plan to share it with my high school seniors.

    Reminds me of Paul Harvey
I realize this is a dated reference, but this podcast is better than the program the late, great Paul Harvey voiced. How? More content and less story. Keep up the good work!

    Excellent worth listening too.
Always interesting and informative. Interviewing style makes this podcast a stand out. Being able to ask and move the interview along, making it interesting asking many of the questions those of us listening would like to ask. Selecting guests that have something pertinent to talk about that deal with life not some imaginary existence.

    Something You Should Know
This podcast is the most favorite podcast I listen to when I want peace and an unclouded mind. I have learned so much during the short time I have discovered this gem. And let me tell you the other thing that keeps me coming back: Mike Caruthers’ voice. It is very pleasing to the ear. If you haven’t joined in on this podcast, I urge you to start and hear what I am talking about. You will learn a lot of useful information.

    Learn learn learn
This pidcast never disappoints! Tidbits of information that prove to be very useful ad I move through life. Love the wide variety of topics but the best part of the show is the questions asked of the experts. I am a big fan of SYSK.
