Months without new episode. No update.
Great show but where did these guys go? No new episodes in a long time. Where’s the x-men 97 coverage??
  • Corey Guns2386
Been listening day one loved the cartoon episodes
Man I’m rock hard anticipating the episode about X-men 97.
  • Viva la Evolution!
    So fun to revisit
These episodes are wild and wacky and I love going back through them with these dudes, very fun. If you like X-MEN The animated series, this is a great listen. And if you dont like XMen this is still good.

Why I rated this 5 stars FAQ!
Hello fearless podcast listeners! It’s your boy Talkin Thom with another History Podcast FAQ Review. Please do not repost my FAQ without my expressed written consent. If anyone sees this FAQ reposted for money, please let me know on my Discord server. Q: Why did you give this history podcast 5 stars? A: This is my favorite history podcast chronicling X-Men the animated series, and Gary and Jeremy’s favorite X-men comics. It is essentially a history of things that they like and a great entry point for new and old fans of comics alike. Q: Which X-men would you be if you were a mutant? A: While I like to think that I’m a smart polymath like Hank McCoy (Beast), I’m probably more of a wild card rouge like Scott Summers-Grey (Cyclops). Q: Should I listen to this podcast if I want to learn more about Ancient Rome and Stonehenge? A: Absolutely. Q: How is the audio quality? A: Tops! Gary has a soft voice that will smooth you down to sleep. His last name is Butterfield because his mutant power is the ability to make one feel like they are drifting on a gentle river of dairy. On the other hand, Jeremy brings a ton of pop-sizzle energy! He’s like a Vegetta with sunglasses. Q: How can I support more of your reviews? A: Donate to The Western States Center!

Suckling all the way to the nostalgia bank
If you, as I, grew up watching and reading the X-Men, this is the show for you. Jerry and Daniel really know their stuff, especially mardigras. Learn all about home improvement and some about the TV show Home Improvement. Really you can’t miss with this... one.

    Wonderful show!
This is a great show with lots of humor & heart. I like the variety it offers & it always maintains a solid moral compass. That said, I do take issue with the sometimes troubling focus on digital consumption of old comics. I understand the viability & accessibility which Marvel Unlimited offers, but the streaming service is an institution which controls & dictates access to content. MU could, for instance, take Morrison’s New X-Men off the site at the first whiff of a copyright issue. Keep up the great work guys, but please make a greater effort to mention & support the heroes who run comic book shops & keep the physical media legacy alive. Greer mentions how he wants to get rid of his short box of comics at some point & I do understand that urge towards minimalism, esp. as we all get older, but I think it’s important to stress that there is a way to interface with this work other than the corporate streaming venue. I love looking through my old back issues even tho, yeah, storing old comics are a pain! Let’s support comic shops when we gush about comics! Sorry to go on a tangent, this is still a must listen podcast!

    Great show
A great podcast with a fun topic

    Great show
I havnt read a comic in 20 years but I have always loved the X-men and the fun energy that Gary and Jeremy bring to show is enough to make it fun. I havnt seen it read most of what they talk about so I can only assume they know what they are talking about if even if they don’t it’s still an enjoyable listen every week.

    New format
Love the new format. You can tell it’s a great show when my only complaint is I want more.

    Amazing!
Terrific chemistry between Gary and Jeremy! This podcast is always an easy listen and consistently brightens up my day. Thank you guys!

    So fun!
Another Duckfeed masterpiece balancing content review with the wonderful personalities Gary and Kole cultivate.

    The new reboot is great
As a mid 30-something, I bought a comic book for the first time in my life just so I could follow along.

    Entertaining and funny
More in depth and enjoyable than Uncanny X-Cast was.

Great for fans of the X-men
Somehow I haven’t reviewed this yet! Gary and Jeremy are both obviously huge X-men fans and bring their enthusiasm to every episode. I haven’t listened to the episodes covering X-men evolution but everything else has been great fun. And now they’re covering comics starting with the classic new x-men run. It’s a fantastic listen.

    Gambit is a creep
Absolutely love this show. I loved the animated series when I was a kid and still do now, but I never realized how funny and terrible parts of the show were.

Stay for the numerous remixes of the theme song!
Good fun from the Duckfeed TV cast, who delve first into the 1992 X-Men cartoon, then branch off into the vast Marvel media backlog. Nostalgia mixed with snark makes this delightful listening.
  • revengeanceful
    Fun and funny!
Jeremy and Gary take a really hysterical look back at the 90s X-Men animated show. Expect lots of fun tangents too!

    Striking the Right Balance
I adored this show as a kid. I had the Pizza Hut VHS tapes. I had two SLP VHS tapes of shows recorded on Saturday mornings. As an adult, I understand that continuing to have the same reverence for this show would be absolutely ridiculous, and I’m thankful that this podcast doesn’t sugarcoat the shortcomings of both the source material and the adaptations thereof, all in favor of nostalgia. I have yet to get out of X-Men TAS proper (mostly because I’ve spent a lot of time listening to all the other Duckfeed content, WHICH YOU SHOULD DO), but I’ve no doubt everything else that has been and will be covered by Jeremy and Gary with the same balance of praise and ridicule that this stuff deserves.

    You asked for it
I’m broke as hell. And they asked for reviews so here goes. It’s an entertaining show, it’s funny and passes the long hours I spend slaving away in a factory building dish washer baskets. If your bored watching your life essence slowly drain from your body, give this show a go. But fair warning you’ll wanna hear other duck feed shows after a few episodes, manly bonfireside chat for all your dark soul needs ~NixNixus

Because of these goofballs I now like Gambit. So thanks for that, I guess.

    Love This!!!
Love the added discussion of the X-Men movie series. Now I’m back watching them from a new perspective. Hosts know the subject and are very entertains. I highly recommend this podcast!!!
  • DozMos
    Very entertaining
Watched the X-men show as a kid and nostalgia certainly clouded what the show actually was like. This podcast is a very humorous deconstruction of a very silly and often ridiculous show that I loved. Keep up the good work.

The Best Podcast About the Best Show
Two very good hosts joshing about a truly lovely and bizarre cartoon. Fun *and* funny.

    What's a Magneto?
I watched the X Men animated series as a kid, and, in all honesty, I don't have an especially fond connection with the show. Regardless, this podcast makes me want to go back and watch all the crazy and ridiculous things that happen in the show. Jeremy and Gary make this podcast worth listening to-- their humor and insight keep me laughing and intrigued. So, even if you don't care about the X Men animated series, give this podcast a chance -- you won't regret it.

    Gambit like dis show Cher!
So, i decided to give this a show a shot and i have to say, i am not disappointed at all. Gary and Jeremy do a great job talking about the show and really give some good laughs about the quirks of the show. This actually convinced me to go out and buy the complete series of X-men and Spider-Man. I also like how they talk about the movies in between seasons because i haven't watched them all and was always curious about the plot. One can hope that they cover spider-man someday :) TEEVES AND ATTASSINS!!!!

    The X-Boys
As a huge X-Men fan who was dying for another good X-Men podcast after having listened to every Jay and Miles episode three times, I was super excited when I saw my favorite video game podcasters would be tackling my favorite comic property. These guys are a delight to listen. GAMBIT KNOW.

Enjoy comedy? Nostalgic for the 90's X-Men cartoon? Look no further!
I loved X-Men: The Animated Series as a child! This show is a great concept. Gary and Jeremy describe and discuss episodes of the 90's X-Men cartoon, which did a really good job of distilling comics into children's cartoons. Gary and Jeremy are funny, likable Podcast personalities. Really hoping for those Gambit and Beast weekly responses, guys!

    Another Knockout
I discovered Gary Butterfield and his work fairly recently, and I believe he has yet to do something I don't love. I grew up on the X-Men, and while my older brother and father collected the comics, I focused more on the cartoon and the video games. I absolutley love this show, and even though I'm 20 years older than when I first saw it, I still fire up an episode a couple times a month, just for dumb fun and nostalgia. Emphasis on dumb fun, mind you. While honestly a pretty significant cartoon that managed to bring some heavy comic storylines to a children's cartoon, this show is also DUUUUUUUMMMMMMMB. And Gary and Jeremy know it, and I love them for it. I love fans who are self-aware instead of rabidly defensive; it's genuinely wonderful to hear fans praise the great points of a wonderful show, but also tear it apart on the dumber aspects. These two are hilarious, knowledgeable, and loving fans who will no less mercilessly mock stuff that love when appropriate. And that makes me love them in turn.

    Good Good X-Boys
I needed a good reason to watch the 90s X-Men cartoon again. These comic book boys gave me two good ones. Those reasons are Gambit impressions and sweet X-Men remixes.
  • Dr. Sonata
    Love It
I'm way more a Batman TAS guy, when it comes to '90s cartoons, but the wild variations in quality in X-Men make for a much more fun commentary show. Can't get enough of this buddy show covering the lesser comic-based series that we all love in spite of itself. Quickly becoming my favorite peripheral Duckfeed show. The movie episodes between seasons break things up nicely.Keep it up guys.
  • blackthorne22
    Very cool
I love this podcast. The two guys who do this feel like close friends even though I don't know them irl. I feel like that because I can relate a lot to their thoughts (I'm similar age but if you're not you'll probably still like this). X-Men means a lot to me and the animated series meant a lot to me, too. And I just like listening to these guys because they are very smart, eloquent, and fine persons all around. I got this cool Wolverine shirt. Mark Texeira was my favorite artist. Keep it up guys. You make me smile

    Entertaining and Well Produced
Love the show. Duck Feed always delivers quailty podcasts. Gary and Jeremy are great! I watched the first seasons of X-Men when they aired and picked up the dvds a couple of years ago but never made it all the way through. But now I have a great reason. Thanks, guys.

    Recommended to all mon ami
This podcast has been an absolute joy from episode one. I expected to like it, but I come out of each episode loving it more and more. The hosts have great chemistry, they know their material, and they are great at balancing their focus. Entertaining for fans and hardcore comic nerds alike.
  • Bobohotep
    Nasty Boys
The Nasty Boys, one of the greatest tag teams of the early 90's. That fact aside, this is an excellent show that never fails to thoroughly entertain. Keep up the great work guys.
  • dpoole88
    We happy few...
Hopefully not too few for too long, as Gary and Jeremy's enthusiasm (and downright goofy humor in their riffing of the material that has my coworkers giving me odd looks as if I'm the crazy one) for their look into the X-Men animated series is so great almost to be infectious; but like Jeremy is wont to advise throughout: Don't watch the show (I've tried, dear lord, I've tried), just listen to the podcast (it'd take more effort not to listen), and let the wonderful hosts do the dirty work.
  • Odin42
    Energy blast, huh?
I barely remember the 90s show, but the general X men talk is more than enough to delight an old fan such as me. And the boys are not afraid to lambast the material when it's called for. Love the show, always excited when it drops every other week.
  • Jglaforge
    An uniquely funny show!
Finally a show to stand up to big xmen! Sending up every episode of the popular xmen cartoon series, days of future cast is a hilarious new series. The musical choices to separate segments in the podcast seem to made purposely obnoxious which can be frustrating, but the commentary between is well worth it.

    A jubilee of genetic anomalies
Yet another excellent podcast from the Duckfeed folks. I hallucinate a certain shade of yellow and the sound of a cajun dialect whenever I listen, and I laugh through my tears. Fine stuff.
  • AdamLorincz
Excellent nostalgia driven but realistic and hilarious assessment of a milestone series for 90s kids
Duckfeed produces excellent content and this is a wonderful podcast that blends nostalgia criticism and witty banter from two hosts who have a genuine love for the series and good rapport! Excellent listen for any fan of x men or other duckfeed casts

    Best X-Men Podcast in History
As an immortal time-travelling mutant, I have listened to literally every episode of every X-Men podcast ever released, and I honestly can say that this is one of them... One of the best, that is. You'll get some stiff competition in 2158, but you still edge them out.
  • Steven diehard
    Fun and Entertaining
These two make a great team, can't wait for the show to hit its stride and take off.
  • Lockemurph
I had to eat a Pizza Hut pizza to write this review
Jeremey wakes up in a cold sweat. His newly awakened mutant powers, the ability to turn into a living skeleton have been keeping him up at night. He looks at his new roommate at the Kole Ross school for gifted Younsters, Gary who is actually just a cat named Rohrs.
  • jmh_1373
Podcasts huh? Here's one from a pro!
Podcast veterans Gary and Jeremy bring you a deep dive into your favorite cartoon from the early 90s. I appreciate that they both love the show dearly but can critique and laugh at a lot of its flaws. Also from this podcast I learned Jubilee had a very weird comic arc. To quote the poet, Dalton Wilcox, "Vampires! Vampires! Vampires! Vampires!"
  • Lankysam
Good fun, even if you're a moderate XMen fan
I only have vague memories of this TV show and I've never read any of the comics, but Gary and Jeremy make this a treat regardless. The two hosts have such affection for this absurd saturday morning cartoon, and for riffing on it, and they bring back the great, funny chemistry they've had on other Duckfeed.tv shows. So glad to finally have a space dedicated to just the two of them!
  • tim_schu_
    Really funny!
Gary and Jeremy both obviously love the series but not to the point that they can't joke about how dumb it is. A quality podcast. Perfect excuse to revisit the series.
