Listening to the backlog brings learning and laughs
I have been catching up on older episodes of this show and am learning a lot!! I always listen all the way through to the end of show chat because I am here as much for entertainment as I am for frugal mindset shifts. Today I was on the romance scams episode (380), and while the episode content was kind of scary and sad, the end of show chat about the Super Bowl and listening to Jen & Jill make really vague guesses about Taylor and Travis was hilarious. I feel like I’ve never not known most of the details of their relationship even though I’m not really a Swiftie or a Chiefs fan, and hearing two people who were so under-informed about them was super refreshing. Thanks for being willing to just make guesses about random pop culture and for your lovely friendly interactions. You two are a pleasure to listen to (but I will admit the first episode when I heard Jill’s scary lightning round voice, I was genuinely startled).

    Say No to Impulse Buys!
Loved this episode! You girls were spot on about combating impulse buying with hobbies . I use to be a shopaholic, but hobbies have now taken over the shop til' you drop urge. Currently filling that shopping void .....Calligraphy, embroidery, adult coloring, puzzles, scrabble, baking, juicing, journaling, weight lifting, Hoopla ...all done with bare minimal supplies and self-taught thanks to ...IG, YouTube, and Tik Tok! So looking forward to your upcoming book!!!

Lack of preparation, preliminary research or fundamental knowledge
I was shocked to listen to a podcast reviewing finance books where…neither of the podcasters had even read the books they were discussing? Like what’s even the point? I may as well read a buzz feed article at that point. They also had an episode critiquing / criticizing Marie Kondo’s book and method despite not having read the book, then in a later episode admitted they were wrong and hadn’t understood the concept because they…had not actually read the book. What is the point of tuning in to a podcast to listen to speaker hypothesize about a topic where they haven’t done the most basic level of effort and research? I’ve started listening to another podcast called Money Feels, it has a similar vibe with 2 female hosts and female-focused finance topics, but the 2 hosts seem to actually know what they are talking about and at least in the episodes I’ve listened to have actually read or researched the materials they are critiquing.

    Hands down my favorite podcast!
If you would have told me 5 years ago that I would be binging a podcast on finances, saving and frugality, I would have laughed in your face. But here we are, enjoying every episode, taking notes on all the juicy info (nerd alert nerd alert nerd alert!), and humming the “Bill of the Week” jingle as I’m doing housework. Jenn and Jill have excellent content and even better delivery! I’ve only been listening for a couple of months, after they were guests on another podcast I listen to (Hi, Jess Massey from Hustle Sanely!) and I’ve been binging ever since. And yes, I’ve pre-ordered their book as well and counting the days until I can dive into that! Thank you for spreading the frugal gospel with fun and positivity , providing great resources, validating good habits, and celebrating all the milestones along the way. This podcast is a game changer!

    Good tips here and there
This is a decent podcast. The hosts are quite enjoyable and very well spoken. They do so well at not talking over each other (which is in a struggle on most duo podcasts). It’s very basic frugality (meal planning, tracking spending, etc) - not many new ideas. But it’s a good reminder for things you probably already know, or good for someone new to frugality. However- I cannot skip forward fast enough when the bill of the week intro comes on. Sometimes at that point I just skip all the way through the end. It seems oddly placed- I assume it’s at the end of the episode, but there will be 20 minutes left, and it seems like it goes back to the topic or other topics? Today they did the conclusion to the episode, gave producer credits, played the outgoing music, but then started talking again for several minutes.

    Phenomenal Friends
Love this podcast. It is like listening to two nonjudgmental friends talk about frugality and all things money. I work at 3am from home and this podcast keeps me awake in the early mornings when the rest of the world is asleep and makes me feel less alone. Thank you for all that you both do!

    Worst investing podcast ever
Better off listening to the Money Guy or other investing podcasts. The friends don’t know their information and share incorrect information. Go elsewhere for investing podcasts and ignore any financial advice the friends offer

    New listener
I am a new listener, I started listening after you guys were on The Minimal Mom’s podcast. I really enjoy both of the hosts personalities and the way they make finance interesting regular people. I am planning on listening to all the episodes!

Gentle guidance instead of “finance shouting”
This podcast is the perfect chaser after an intense listen to other financial advice podcasts that tend to be prescriptive and intense. I listen to this weekly to help me keep a steady pace towards my goals. As someone who has used shopping to cure boredom, this is almost like a daily vitamin that boosts my resolve to stay true to what I value and resist spending that doesn’t serve me. A great companion in addition to shows like Choose FI and Money Guy!

    Love the show
Many personal finance podcasts are difficult for me to understand and I usually turn them off feeling overwhelmed and doomed. Jen and Jill provide helpful tips and insights for people wanting to think about their personal finances with entry points that are accessible to anyone.

    Funny and useful.
I enjoy listening to this show very much. The stories of folks who have paid off significant debt are inspiring. Shows about investing and financial planning are educational. The shows that discuss various strategies for saving money on everything from groceries to clothing provide lots of useful tips. All information is provided with big doses of humor.

I love these girls! Practical, relevant, and a little weird.
This podcast is not only full of PRACTICAL tips and tricks to save money but full of fun and weirdness too. Listening to Jen and Jill is like sitting in your back patio on a perfect summer afternoon drinking a margarita with your best girls and talking money. They are so purely themselves and it makes them so relatable. The topics are almost always RELEVANT to me as a woman in her early 30s with no kids but there’s something for everyone. This show is really a breath of fresh air amid all the stuffy or bro dude Personal Finance Podcasts that are out there. Jen and Jill are Girls’ Girls and I love it!

    The best of the best
I have been a listener of Frugal Friends for a while now and will continue to come back. Jen and Jill are honest, informative, and nonjudgmental. I have felt fear and shame with *the guy that everyone begins this journey with*. But here, I feel empowered and like I actually am making progress, even if that progress is sometimes small. Finance topics can be big and scary, but Jen and Jill make it all make so much sense. Thank you!

    Amazing and inspiring!
Great podcast with such relatable content! I’ve been following along for a few years now! Now that my husband and I are able to say we’re debt free, each episode hits differently now that we’re on the other side of it all! Thank you for always making such helpful content!

    Such Fun
I am so close to retirement so I thought I would start being frugal. I know, little late to the game but it can’t hurt to start thinking that my money matters! The girls make the show such fun. I find little tips and tricks and I appreciate how down your earth and fun the show is. Five stars! It won’t let me tap to rate!

    Love Love Love these ladies!
I love this podcast because it is as informative as it is fun to listen to. I have a lot of repetitive work during the day but thankfully the frugal friends keep me laughing during their episodes! Jen and Jill are the friends everyone wants to have, they seem so kind and helpful. I am learning so much about how to improve my financial situation. I’m learning to eat what’s in my home and save money in all kinds of ways! I just pre-ordered the book and I can not wait for it to come! Thanks Jen and Jill!

    Amazing!
I have been listening to these ladies for the last few years, and I think I’ve heard them all. Jen and Jill are realistic about their money ideas and advice. I have been able to up my budgeting game the more I listen but also give myself grace when I slip (books and plants are a weakness). Thank you ladies for always giving us such good advice and making it real.

Real life advice and easy to use tips!
I’ve been a listener for awhile, and have enjoyed the information and easy to apply life tips. Such as making a decision one time, so this podcast helped me to set up a low interest student loan repayment plan and so far helped me pay off more then 36k in a year with one decision instead of trying to send what was left at the end of the month which never worked out well for the loan repayment. Thanks so much Jen and Jill for the helpful info! Keep doing what you do and I’ll keep listening! 🤩

    Money Tips at Your Fingertips!
The Frugal Friends Podcast is a great listen! Both Jen and Jill provide such great details on how anybody can live a frugal lifestyle! They also do such a great job on having guests that can help you understand how they’ve gotten out of debt which will drive you to pay off your own debt! It is all very motivating!

My friends are tired of hearing me talk about this podcast, so I’ll write a review.
As cringy as it is to say, this podcast has actually been life-changing. It’s useful for women in their teens…20’s…30’s…40’s…50’s…for men… I’ve been on a binge for 7 months now, and have only found 2 episodes that I didn’t find something applicable to me. (Although I often pause the podcast to share my own relevant stories and opinions to the empty car😅) Yes, I’ve learned about personal finance, but I have truly learned so much about myself. I learned that I tend to make a decision about buying a thing, (spending money on it) but not to actually own the item-figuring out where it would go in my life or in my space. Having this one little distinction has really helped me cut back on impulse purchases. The emphasis on simplicity caused me to actually see what’s in my space, which led me to an “accidental“ no spend challenge: 3 months without getting groceries! And I only went back to the store because I ran out of butter. 😂 I learned about what’s actually important to me in my life, and was able to make big life changes by making relatively small financial changes. Probably the biggest thing I have learned, however, is from Jill: if you do an awkward thing enough times, it becomes *A Thing.* The first time it will be awkward. The 20th time you’ll be singing along to the Bill of the Week song. ❤️

    Financial freedom for normal people
I was raised by Dave Ramsey stans, so I started listening to this because I always want to improve my finances. I stayed because these girls are not spouting extreme financial practice- they’re talking about living by your values with your money. SO REFRESHING! Also stayed for the after shows IYKYK.

    Millenial and Teacher Friendly
Jen and Jill have done an incredible job of taking money topics and making them understandable and applicable for any person of any income!! I am a teacher who has been struggling with debt payoff and saving- and these girls take away the shame of not being financially ‘savvy’ and truly feel like I’m just chatting with the most non judgemental friends ❤️

    Motivating & fun
Jen and Jill for keep me motivated while I tackle endless DIY projects around the house. Listening to your episodes helps me remember why I’m putting in the sweat equity to fix up our home. Thanks to Frugal Friends I’ve saved money, I’ve avoided excessive spending, and I’m earning more interest on my savings. I love that the episodes come out frequently and they are all interesting and fun to listen to, even if the topic isn’t directly relevant to my life. Highly recommended!

    Happy pod, happy gal
This show has been one of my relaxing/chill out pods for a long time. I can always rely on a positive attitude from both Jen and Jill, and they keep it very fun! It also has the added bonus of some helpful tips about living life in an ethical and sustainable way, so I get to feel a little productive while I listen. I’ve probably listened to about 80-90% of the episodes and I can tell you there’s not one I’ve heard that’s been a bummer. It’s all positive!

    Jen & Jill = awesome!
I found Frugal Friends while looking for other podcasts to listen to while I work. WFH is quiet and I get bored easily so, the podcast helps keep me on track. I love hearing all the stories and the tips & tricks to be fugal. I especially enjoyed the episode on online thrifting. I’ve downloaded the Beni app & have been using it during my “window” shopping spurts while I’m bored. I look forward to these podcasts every week.

    Well-Rounded Financial Advice
I imagine I’m probably on the younger side of the Frugal Friends podcast listeners at age 26. But I find the content Jen and Jill provide completely applicable to my life— potentially even moreso since I have the time to implement various strategies for which I will reap the benefits over time (like investing)! Jen and Jill are relevant, witty, and have great values that align with mine. I love the focus on living a generally low-waste, environmentally conscious, but not restrictive lifestyle. Out of fear of sounding cheesy, Jen and Jill legitimately make frugality fun. Recommend this podcast 1000%.

Jen and Jill came into my life at a time when I truly needed some financial advice and I couldn’t be happier to have found this show!! With so much uncertainty going on around student loan forgiveness, i wanted and needed to rethink my financial budgeting. Thank you ladies for all of your hard work and dedication!!!!

    Fun to listen to
I’ve been listening to Jen and Jill for several years and they are great! They’re normal people who discuss financial articles or talk to guests in a way that anyone can understand. You can tell they are friends in real life because they have a great chemistry together. Thanks for making my breakfast more fun and informative a couple times a week! And enjoy Carrabba’s from a fellow Jenn!!

    Frugal and Fun! Who Knew?
I’m always looking for new and fun podcasts to listen to while I’m doing other things like working, driving, or doing housework! You usually don’t think of the word, “fun” when talking about being frugal, but Jill and Jen have a way of talking about frugal topics in a fun and even light hearted way. They also cover topics which most average frugal podcasts don’t. If you’re like me and need to expand your thinking while you are doing other tasks, try the Frugal Friends podcast. You just might be both entertained and enlightened!

    Lots of great insights!
I’ve been listening to Jen and Jill for a little over a year now, and I look forward their episodes every week. Their dynamic is so refreshing and they offer great tips that aren’t extreme. I find that their advice extends beyond the financial into just being kinder to yourself in general. I’m also a huge fan of the lightening rounds each episode.
