Solar_Nova2002Zionist Talking PointsI used to rely on this show for local NYC political coverage, but can no longer because host Harry Siegel has gone out of his way to parrot AIPAC zionist talking points when referring to protests against the Gaza Genocide, insisting on framing them as “anti-Israel” or other misleading descriptions. Shame on him, and shame on this podcast for allowing him to spread this right-wing garbage.

Raj FanEasy StreetHow dare you flaunt your easy street status of not worrying about ICE arrests and joblessness. Do you not care about your community? What happened to taking care of the least of ourselves? Have a heart. These actions by ICE are against your sanctuary city laws. Grow a spine. Meanwhile you defend Adam’s looking like a bought toy on Fox News. Have you no dignity?!

Andi New YorkAlways a fanListen every week and appreciate the pod. I enjoyed your most recent episode with Mr. Blake. I’m not sure how I will rank Mr. Blake, but his visit did underscore something I have felt for some time, that the show would benefit from a stronger presence/more representation from people of color from the Bronx, or even uptown Manhattan. Thanks for all you do!

GeorgeJAMESo gratefulI cannot express how much I appreciate this podcast and THE CITY. The in-depth interviews with mayoral candidates are profoundly valuable. It is my favorite podcast. I enjoy the camaraderie and different perspectives the three hosts bring. Thank you Katie for indefatigable gumshooing. Thank you Harry for the obscure, yet helpful political facts you know. Thank you Chrissy for the political insight. I am so grateful!

leoleomaisieUneven approaches by hostsI find it disconcerting that while Greer is consistent in her outlook, Seigel seems to really tamp down his opinions (compared to published pieces) and rarely challenges her opinion or substantiates alternate perspectives.

apk420Eric Adams Apologist HourBeen enjoying this show for a few years now but the reflexive apologia whenever Eric Adams does something obviously stupid or obviously corrupt (or both!) is getting to be a bit much.

Don’t Gaslight Usprayer in schoolsgaslighting. Sad to hear gaslighting on The City podcast. Stop telling us to settle down about Eric Adams when everything he does stinks like a republican. Every Mayor DOES NOT say “we need prayer in schools”. No other NYC mayor has said that. I could go on and on and on…

trppermanDownhill FastHave been listening since day 1. I wish the hosts would admit to themselves they are actually quite conservative. They LOVE Eric Adams (claims he loves cities and Black folks despite also listing his pro-cop, austerity policies?), reflexively loathe the organized Left (Dr. Greer has mentioned Zeldin-supporting DSA Bernie voters multiple times. Do these people exist? If so, I'd LOVE to hear y'all interview one!). Standard centrist griping now. Early episodes are great though! Enough about weed stores and the DSA.

JackieBFromNYCCan’t get enough of this podcast!Chrissi cracks me up! Love her critical insights and the krazy way she expresses them. “Who’s checking for Tom Suaze?”

aln258Best NYC politics podcastI listen every week to keep up to date on NYC politics. Hosts and guests keep it real and get into the weeds. Highly recommend for anyone who is personally or professionally interested in NYC or NYS politics.

CheyrmanI love this show.Thank you for focusing on the intricacies of NYC with such tenacity and pluck. The recent show with the JBs was fantastic. I wish you’d do more shows with more than one legislators.

Sully99The BestThis is the best local New York City news podcast of all time. They really care about their city.

Alex4NYCGreat content, weird productionLove the content, the interviews, the topics. I don’t know why they do all these weird audio effects in the middle with cheap reverb and chorus effect... it definitely detracts and does not add. Stick to the great content guys!! You don’t need to try to glam it up. Great podcast though.

Xiangan55Solid local podcastAs someone who recently started getting interested in local politics (ULURP zoning, Community Boards, MTA funding, State politics) I had high hopes for FAQ. It’s mostly delivered but if I may offer two constructive feedback points 1. Get rid of the audio effects. Opening theme is cool but in middle of interviews/content, it’s just annoying. 2. Change to a single interviewer please. 3 voices in one room is too much. Look at Preet’s podcast or Fresh Air. One interviewer can be backed by a whole team w questions/research but it’s much more presentable and easier to digest. Thanks.

David D.NYCGreat show but please reconsider the sound FXI love this show and I think it earns the 5 stars. But I would ask you to reconsider the sound effects that interrupt interviews and make things sound like morning commercial radio. Your knowledgeable and passionate hosts bring all the energy the show needs. And those drop-ins, sometimes put in the middle of an interviewees thought, can make things hard to follow. (And given that the interviews are often done in a non traditional setting, the levels of the conversation ends up being softer than the loud sound effect that drops in). I think you have an excellent show, please don’t make it difficult to follow the intelligent and needed conversations you are having.

jodellafletchGreat, even if you're not in NYCThanks to the perspective this team brings to their coverage, I have never cared so much about an AG race in a state I haven't lived for more than a decade. I used to be a political reporter (in a much smaller place than New York City, but with a hyper-local focus), and the conversations my coworkers and I would have in the newsroom had a passion and specificity that we couldn't really include in our daily reporting. This podcast feels like listening in on these types of uncensored newsroom debates. It is a wonderful reminder of the intrinsic relationship reporters have to their beats, and how vital that relationship is to our democracy -- especially now, as newsroom budgets are slashed and this weird, post-truth fervor consumes so many. It's a great listen, even if you're not in New York.

KC, public radio journoFun and smart, from experts who know their stuffAzi, Christina, and Harry are all veterans on the NY politics scene, and their institutional knowledge shines through in this fun, fast-paced podcast. Producer Alex weaves it all together beautifully. Am interested to see if it shapes up to be more for political novices looking to get informed or junkies who can't get enough of the roadshow that is NY politics. Looking forward to more great content!

Jcr519Different newsI listened the podcast. It is refreshing to have a news which explains what is going on behind the scene. On tv, we hear always the same thing and it is tiring

andrewnwilliamsHuge need for this podcastIve been waiting for something like this. So much of NYC and Albany politics happens in back rooms and out of sight of public consciousness. Hopefully this podcast shines a light on how the most important city in the world runs. Credit to John Liu for being the first to step up to the plate and addressing is campaign finance violations.
-
John from AstoriaAmazing source of local news. With the local press slowly dying, FAQ NYC is a slickly produced much needed source of news.
