I’ve been a fan for years. From the stories chosen to his voice and narrations, this is my favorite option out there. His story compilations on YouTube led to me finding him here. I have put on episodes all day everyday many weeks in a row before and I’ve yet to desire another show more. Also I’ve played this show in the background to feel less alone/more comfortable during much needed sleep. You won’t regret trying him out. Just to note* The negative star ratings* about the ads don’t appear to be authentic or real people. I think you’ll really love the time spent listening to each of these episodes. 👍🏼

I’ve been listening to Let’s Read, specifically this podcast, for over three years now and it never ceases to keep me hooked! Not only is the concept of the podcast one of the most creative forms of entertainment, in my opinion, but the perfectly voiced narrations, and attention to detail throughout listening is incredible! One of the best podcasts out there! 💜

Now the ads are getting very weird and niche. Not looking for political ads mixed into my spooky stories. Unsubscribed and sadly won’t be back.

I’m fairly new to the podcast but I’m already loving it

me and my family have been listening to this podcast and u tube channel for 7 years and joel my guy you have come a long way!! i and my family are some of your biggest fans!!!

My only issue is reading the over opinionated reviews of people not understanding these are not news articles not often submitted stories. Some are yes, but either listen and enjoy or cry elsewhere. The negativity isn’t welcome with these channels or narrators who are providing a service you are not forced to participate in. You rock dude, love listening to the tape sessions with ya! -Lolo

I’ve noticed that more and more of the episodes, regardless of theme, are populated with “creepy guy” stories. These are not my favorite. Stories about things that scare 16-26 yr old females (in addition to “creepy guys”) like, noises, wind, the dark, hallways, no WiFi, etc. are generally not scary and always anticlimactic. I just had to put it out there. Otherwise, love most eps! Kindest Regards

First off, cholera is pronounced kol/er/a with the stress on the first syllable. Second, the purple prose used in these missing stories is laughable at best, and disrespectful at worst. These are sad, unsettling stories that don’t need the heavy handed treatment given here. A straight recitation of the story is impactful on its own. I’d give it a . Today, you outdid yourself . You libeled a murder victim and his family for no other reason than his Italian heritage. More than once you raised organized crime as a possible reason for his murder! You intimated that his family might be involved as well, with no facts to substantiate your claim. He played the ponies? Seriously? I’d sue you for defamation.

I binged this podcast over the period of a few months while at work, and now I listen to the new ones as they come out, and no other true horror podcast I’ve found has better stories or narration. It’s kinda sad actually lol, Joel keep it up!!

I work alone most time and when I found this podcast, omg I love it. The stories are amazing and sometimes terrifying. But it’s really interesting and the guy has a good voice. Keep up the amazing work, I look forward every week for his podcast.

I’m caught up on every podcast, It literally helps me get through my work day. They aren’t coming out fast enough for me so I just re listen to them, which isn’t a problem because I love these stories. I literally can’t focus if I listen to anything else. Best podcast ever.

I have been a listener since the beginning. Absolutely great content to start because I was able to fall asleep to the pod. However, Let’s Read has recently become just like Let’s Not Meet with far too many loud and obnoxious ads that wake me from sleep. It’s sad to see a great podcast go downhill because of greed. A suggestion would be to put all the ads at the front or end of the podcast that way people can sleep to it.

I first came across the Let’s Read Podcast on Pandora, then realized I had this Podcasts app on my iPad and found even more episodes. I’d been about ten or eleven at the time I discovered it and it was when I was obsessed with everything regarding furries, so when I looked up furry podcasts, the episode “I’VE SEEN THE DARK SIDE OF FURRIES…” pop up, I was intrigued and decided to listen to it. That lead to me listening to other episodes (random fact, I’m not all into being a furry anymore just because I’m not a fan of the label and all the drama in the fandom, so I can just say I’m an artist who draws anthro animals and not have to worry about a misunderstood label and all of that, though I support all the good furries out there). Most of the time I thought the stories were epic and was comforting to listen to with my headphones in while reading, drawing, organizing, writing, studying, etc. Sometimes I’d get a bit too nervous and scared about everything around me from these stories though and would be afraid to sleep at night. However, giving that as a reason not to put five stars would be pathetic of me. I just took a break for a while and went back to listening again. Keep up the story-telling, podcast dude! I’d recommend listening if you like creepy, horrifying, sometimes gorey haunting stories. If you like chills up your spine or thrills or murder stories sometimes. However if you’re skittish, I would not recommend this podcast. The fact that these stories are (at least supposedly) true makes it even more thrilling and makes you want to hear even more!

I look fwd to episodes. The voice, the cadence, the length of each show. Just got excited that I still have over an hr to listen to. ❤️❤️

Just being honest. Stories are super short on comps & soooo boring

As the title states, the paid content is useless because all the paid stories eventually trickle out into the free content. Patreon content should be exclusive stories that are not heard on the free podcast.

Love this podcast. Hours of relaxing spooky / weird / creepy stories read in a nice calm voice. Only complaint is a few episodes could be a tad more picky on what stories to read. There’s so many great stories , then there’s a streak of “ something just a tiny off happened and I completely overreacted “ Case in point. A toddler asks his parent if they can see in his eyes and see what he’s thinking So the parent freaks out and seeks out a therapist and they’re still cautious around their child because of it. So stupid.

I love the episode content and length. The stories and the delivery of them are very interesting. I’m thankful for the company this podcast provides during long drives or long work days. I look forward to the arrival of more episodes cuz I’m all caught up 😄 Update: Just wanted to come back and say Thanks for your hard work and dedication! Quality is never lacking and I very much appreciate and enjoy all the episodes even when I go back and re-listen. Thanks so much!

I love that either most or all of their podcasts are more than 2 hours long, usually 2 1/2 hrs, and it really sets the mood when I’m playing a game at night. Thanks for the podcast!

This is the best murder podcast for sleep!! Excellent voice to lull me to zzzz and 2.5hr plus in each episode without excess adds!!!

I’m absolutely obsessed with these stories & until lately I’ve never really had any complaints. But there’s something so prevalent lately that I have to say it. Pleeeeease make sure to separate paranormal/non paranormal stories…. I really mean no offense to anyone but when I click on a podcast titled like “911 calls & missing persons” or “crazy dentist stories” I do not expect paranormal stories at all… People have different beliefs & that’s fine but it’s super inconvenient having to sometimes skip half of a podcast because of a bunch of ghost stories I just don’t wanna listen to. Thank you very much

This is my fav podcast to listen to I’m always in school listening to it the story’s give me the scare and mystery I need during the day and I love how mysterious his force sound when he tells the story’s and so this always gives me dreams about the story when I sleep and it’s scary but it is also coooling😜🥰

Causally talking about hiding the fact that you just killed a child in one of the most gruesome disturbing ways?? I’ve seen multiple reviews asking for trigger warnings. I’m not sure why this hasn’t happened yet. I’m really not sure why that type of story would be included. 2 stars only because I’ve been listening for weeks and enjoying the podcast. But the “Soviet hobo cannibals” episode took it too far.

I really really love this podcast,but I wish you would give a trigger warning when you’re about to discuss a story involving animal abuse,so we can at least skip over that part of the episode.

i have been listening to this podcast for about three years now, and this podcast is by far the scariest of the very few podcasts i listen to. i sleep to it and sometimes it makes me have nightmares. LOL!! i enjoy nightmares though so IDC!! me and my husband (I’m am a gay cis man) loved the valentines episode! SO SCARY!! Me and hubby usually listen to this during long drives and it’s perfect for entertainment that isn’t in your face like a show or TikTok!!! we do love watching tiktok together thoughhhh!!! but anyways yassssss queennnn i love men
