Matt RodbardLA comes aliveI’m way down to hang about with these dudes each week. The spicy scene reports are appreciated, the kid/candy dramas are a welcome plot point, and the stories aren’t overcooked. They call it doing the work. Hit the sub!
-
SamK1025WAPThe latest thanksgiving episode literally had me howling. Naughty headband salesman on the beach in Cabo in front of Jordan’s small child. I am deceased 💀 Thank you for a good laugh as always

ABG128Favorite podcastAbsolutely love this podcast. The banter between Max and Jordan is chef’s kiss. They’re funny, entertaining and very knowledgeable. Highlight of my week.
-
Mimi Gold20Look forward to itLook forward to this pod every Friday! The second it comes out I listen. If you live in LA and care about the food world…this is a must listen.
-
BunketteLove the pod!Best listen of my week.
-
JustineVictoriaLove this PodcastI love this podcast and look forward to every new episode. Jordan is hilarious, honest, and entertaining. Also, he has the best restaurant recommendations in LA. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who is a foodie or wants to learn more about the food scene!
-
assistboy1tasty content…THE best intro/outro music in the pod game. jordan keeps a good pace with his interview style and easy banter. i’m not a jew or a goy (sp), but am getting interesting insights. hoping the show will be video taped for youtube viewing. eating on screen will take air jordan to new heights
-
leepaolaBest MusicIntro & outro music best in the biz. Sexiest voice. Food commentary Jonathan Gold level.

GaymerChicJordan is the bestWhat a voice! Love this podcast. Never miss it. I was never into podcasts but this one I never miss. Working my way backwards so I can make sure I haven’t missed an episode.
-
Yasiel PuigFor the west side eliteCan’t wait to hear about Max’s five figure trip to Noma, but not before some unnecessary wait staff slander and mom and pop shop hate. Talk about a jabroni this max guy. It’s on sight pal.
-
broceanFor a specific type of diner/listenerIf you’re a mama’s boy, hob-knobbing with Richards type and have a one-term vision of what Los Angeles is in food then this is the show for you! Disgusting.
-
SBashirianAn absolute top notch food lovers podcast!Jordan’s podcast is definitely a must listen for me when I’m sitting in LA traffic. He’s knowledgeable but also just super fun to listen to. He keeps it real and honest and that’s what sets him apart.
-
Sshapiro1Review of Jordan and maxJordan and max are a great team. Jordan loves to eat and Max is a world class expert on the knowledge of all things food and his critiques are spot on
-
jschulze72Weekly listenAlong with The Dave Chang Show, this is my weekly listen for food knowledge and laughs. Really enjoy the episodes with Jordan and Max...they make a great team. Great insight into the LA food scene and because of this podcast I’m trying to get a reservation at Horses when we come to LA in March 😆
-
joshleiboGreat showMax Shapiro for LA Times food critic
-
HubestarGreat podGreat pod for the LA food scene. Any foodie should subscribe to this. Despite Jordan’s sometimes quirky tastes (eg dislike for mushrooms), this pod is highly educational and I feel has improved over the years. Please don’t spend more episodes on places like Dan Tanas. Introduce us to more great places like Mariscos Jalisco and Matu. Keep up the good work, Jordan and Max!
-
Simon MashianLove this Podcast!Just got on this podcast- now subscribed! Keep up the great work!
-
staylor973Cake episodeSeriously? No mention of Porto’s? Their tres leche cake is far superior to all others. Valerie’s should have rated higher on the list
-
Jenny FritzThanks Jordan! After a hiatus from the podcast, I just listened to your Alice Waters episode and I’m so glad I did! Excellent conversation. As always you allowed your guest to expound on her POV on food, how we consume it and the choices she’s made along her incredible culinary journey. I learned a lot, enjoyed the listen and, of course, got hungry! #nomicrowave #stovepopcorn

Illini_ZeusYes!Great pace, great conversation, great food (talk)!

audibullyDisorientingly good. It’s more fine-grain than I actually thought possible for a super-compelling food podcast. But going thru menus item-by-item with interesting chefs and a host whose knowledge is rivaled by his approachability...... IMHO it makes for the best podcast out there right now. Do you need to know about LA food scene? Probably helps. But somewhat optional. Am I saying that Mr. Okun can help fill the void created by Jonathan Gold’s passing? Look, for everyone, it’s different. And what is so cool here is that Okun is doing things his own unique way... But news is tough these days, and this podcast helps me with some voids.
-
Film ProdigyA New Jew Rises5 stars even though that episode where you ate a day old sandwich on mic with Evan Fox was disgusting.
-
yalec973the best Jew with a podcast and a point of viewTake that David Remnick.
-
PeppstkBest LA Food PodcastI’ve been listening to Air Jordon now for awhile the show has great energy and very entertaining guest. If you want to know where and what to eat in LA listen and learn.
-
this_is_fogeyThe best Food Podcast out thereI wake up every Thursday looking for Air Jordan and when I see it in my subscribed pods list I scream “THERE IT IS!” There is no better way to start your day.
-
Masha*KJerry and Jordan, what a combo.Loved listening to the founder of all my LA happy places open up to Jordan. Great job on telling the story of SugarFish, Kazunori, HiHo and Uovo. I’m hungry now.
-
MarilynneLAPRGreat Storyteller!Favotie episode so far is the SUGARFISH, HiHo and UOVO with Jerry Greenberg episode! You have a true gift for storytelling and are so talented, your questions were so interesting and go to the core of who Jerry is while also telling the story of each restaurant!
-
jolefemme62LA FOODIE PARADISEVery truly honest & super interesting food speak found here.. i found this by visiting Howlin Rays.. for the umpteenth time & they ( Mario ) told my Chef Johnny was doing this podcast .. so i have been listening ever since! GREAT INTERVIEWS👨🏿🍳👩🏾🍳
-
ponoandpihaThis podcast is very BUENO!If you live in Los Angeles or simply enjoy GREAT food opinions, listening to Air Jordan before his inevitable crease and desist is an ABSOLUTE MUST. @ponoandpiha
-
IG: yungcocoabutterAir Jordan: Fun for the whole familyIf the eloquent guest intros, 🔥 food takes and in depth interviews weren’t enough, I copped a pint of Salt & straw for my mom off the strength of Air Jordan’s propaganda campaign and she polished it off in a single evening. She salutes the pod too. @yungcococoabutter
-
amp72303Listen to itMy girlfriend is annoyed w how much I talk about my new friend Jordan and his podcast, but since she’s from LA and I told her about the Eduardo’s (and she loves Eduardo’s) episode I’ve bought a few more weeks talking about my new friend Jordan and his podcast. @ampalex
-
1 Live Jew(Hans Landa voice)That’s a BUENO!
-
Kevin NoparvarAir. Jordan.I always thought food content was meant to be absorbed with eyes and tastebuds, but Jordan’s podcast is so well executed that it completely changed that perspective. You’re not listening to a scripted radio talk show that gets dull after the first minute or two, you are just a fly on the wall listening to the conversations you want to listen to and wouldn’t be able to hear otherwise. 5 stars all the way.
-
@alphaindianAir JordanJumpman, Jumpman, Jumpman, Jordan is up to something. 5 stars. @alphaindian.
-
Daniel ZorThe Howlin’ Ray’s Episode was BUENOGreat episode with guest Johnny Ray Zone (owner and chef of Howlin’ Ray’s). Talks about how he got started in the cooking world and his love for Nashville HOT Chicken. Howlin’ Ray’s is the best fried chicken restaurant in Los Angeles for a reason. A lot of thought and love went into the making of Howlin’ Ray’s thanks to owners Johnny and Amanda. Some new announcements in this episode I don’t want to spoil so you can take a listen for yourself. If you live in Los Angeles and still haven’t had Howlin’ Ray’s you need to rethink your life decisions.
-
yesssboyyyBetter than a loaded baked potatoDo you like shrimp, Los Angeles, and Jews? If so, you’d be crazy not to tune in to this podcast. This low-mid level food guy consistently delivers mid-high level entertainment.
-
Benny efffthats a mf’ing buenowhile the podcast is almost always white and male its mostly good so you should give it a listen and love food and LA
-
passionate man w solid tasteLocal pride and insight with fun and flavorIf you took Jonathan Gold’s love for his city, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s love of language, Orson Welles’ love for food, mixed them all together, and then took Orel Hersheiser’s hat and put it on top like the cherry on a Salt & Straw sundae, you’d have Jordan Okun. Love this show!
