I really enjoy your podcast. The 30/06 for Elk podcast was right down my alley as I’m the one rifle hunter (Weatherby Hunter 30/06) and not a cartridge reloader. I might never get an opportunity to elk hunt, but if I do the rifle is ready.

Great show, great voice and cadence! I would love to hear shows about the nuances of elk hunting in the separate phases of the season, especially the rifle/late seasons.

Love the show, it’s fun to hear about the new gear and how it shakes out in the field in real world situations. I have learned a lot from this pod cast. And I think Joseph is an absolute great story teller. Follow his magazine articles also.

I wish I had HAD a teacher like Joseph in high school, I would’ve learned something.

Another view at the backcountry and great information!

I’ve followed Joseph’s career for a long time and he’s one of my favorite gun writers today. I grew up reading all of the old guard greats. VonBenedict is right there with them. I’d also suggest signing up for the Patreon if you’re a fan of the show. Awesome additional content.

Great breakdown of the.308 and .30-06! I think a few notable backcountry hunters hunt with .308 and have touted it as a good backcountry cartridge. Thay do also limit themselves and show great discipline in not shooting past the cartridge’s limits.

This is by far one of the best podcasts you can listen to about hunting. I drew a bighorn sheep tag last year and I built a mountain rifle specific for the job. Using the techniques and shooting tactics I learned from listening to this I was able to harvest my team of a lifetime.

I find this podcast more helpful, informative, and practical than any other hunting podcast.

Top hunting podcast. This is a great show, and I look forward to my drive to work each Friday. I love this podcast, because Joseph knows of what he speaks, and you will not waste your time, there aren’t any extended “Bro” sessions where 3-4 guys sit around for 3 hours blabbing about things they don’t understand. The content is top notch, and it moves. Joseph efficiently covers the topic, and keeps it interesting. The guests are usually industry leaders, people who are getting things done and having an impact. I cannot recommend this show enough for the person who is interested in backcountry hunting, or ballistics and reloading. I truly appreciate that this show is clean, you can listen to it in front of anyone.

This is the best hunting and backcountry podcast I’ve tried. It contains a vast amount of knowledge and information for everyone just starting out to those who have been doing it all their lives. Absolutely love it!!

Just started listening a few months ago and love the informative,well thought out, accurate information on many shooting and hunting subjects and presented in an entertaining way? My go to podcast for anything Backcountry hunting, shooting or just plain entertaining programming! Keep up the great work! You didn’t talk me into a 280 Ackley improved yet but did convince me on a 7mm PRC!

I have never gave Africa hunting much thought one way or another but after hearing you and Ron bring up elephants and it really opened my eyes to more than just America thanks I still don’t have much interest in hunting there. I will definitely defend the topic with more information because of you all. Phill of duck dynasty or the unashamed podcast said it best when he quoted the New Testament when Jesus tells his disciples to eat all the animals God created

The most informative podcast there is in regards to caliber, cartridge, bullet choice. He (Joseph) has (obviously) hunted (and killed) many different animals with a wide variety of rifles, cartridges, and bullets. I’ve both learned a lot and also reaffirmed things I already knew. He also seems like a humble man and that means as much to me as anything.

The information he gives out is priceless.

I got my browning chambered in 68 when it first came out in six months after that, I was able to buy Winchester 200 pieces of brass each bag had 100 and I’m pretty sure I got one from Cabelas and one from Scheels but I know I got one from Scheels for sure

Joseph von Benedikt is an incredible story teller and a wise rifleman. This podcast is pure gold. Highly recommend.

Quick, informative, not too technical though. JVB is good just wish he didn’t try to use his “radio voice”. He does it all, gear review for gear-heads, storytime, and motivational or health podcast.

Very enjoyable format with great factual information

JVB and this podcast is an amazing source of information on hunting and do so ethically. Most of us only hope to hunt 3-4 western species yet learning how to hunt them prior to booking a hunt is amazing. Even if some of the info is just a dream for some of us. Keep up the great work with the diverse guests and topics. The new 280 AI in my safe can be directly linked to my following of this pod cast. It just makes sense in a mountain rifle. Now 338 RPM does as well and that might be my next move but with a suppressor. Having shot my old 338 WM today, the thought of a 6-7 pound rig with that much energy is kind of scary. Looking forward to the podcast on that cartridge!

Use to have some good podcasts but has become mostly a podcast about convincing the listener their current rifle is inadequate. Never discusses conservation. Rather it is now just focused on how to out gun your fellow hunter.

This guy is legit and I learn a ton every time I listen. He is sponsored, but doesn’t seem to have sold himself to the highest bidder. The stuff he recommends is solid.

One of my favorites within the hunting space. Love the info on ballistics. As a new western hunter I like it when guys help set reasonable expectations—JVB is a pro.

Easy to listen to. One of my favorite podcasts with Easter egg gems of info even on topics I thought I knew well.

I have read Joseph’s writings and various magazines for years. I was very excited when I found his podcast and have quickly listen to nearly all of them. As a younger hunter who lives in the Southeast and dabbles in hunting out West, his advice has been near invaluable.
