It’s sometimes hard to keep up with all the latest developments in the field - this has been one of my go to resources for review of primary literature.

    How doctors think?
Ro of measles is 19. Ro of COVID-19 is 2 or 3. We need herd immunity! Lol. You guys are hilarious. Even though you missed the mark this time, you get 5 stars for some great past episodes looking at common practices and myths that inform them.

    Actual useful practical information.
This podcast really gets you thinking about your practice and what you can do to possibly improve your methods of anesthesia delivery. I’m a CRNA and so far I have found this podcast to be very insightful and very helpful in critically examining my own practice. Keep up the good work! Possibly do some OB related podcast coming up.

    Mythbusters: Anesthesia
The practice of medicine is full of superstition, folklore and tradition — this podcast invites us to question why we do what we do, using an evidence-based approach. So good, thanks for what you all are doing! I can’t wait to hear more.

    Fantastic new podcast!
Really nice work laying out the evidence, or lack of evidence, for what we do and why we do it. Well done! -Jed Wolpaw (accrac.com)

The masks we (may or may not) wear
What I appreciated is the technicality of this dive into the evidence of mask ventilation prior to giving a paralytic. In-depth nods to the Jense and Dixon studies with a succinct but clear breakdown of the rationales behind them give great supporting evidence in favor of masking. For me, it was telling that data from the British study showed trainees were more like to check than attendings and that 2/3 would not check in real life but would be uncomfortable saying so on exam. However, the best part about this episode is that there is no final answer. With so many lamenting about the direction of evidence based medicine and the reduction of the “in-game” clinical decision making capacities of doctors, it’s refreshing to hear that Drs. Hao and Saddawi-Konefa aren’t keen on spoon-feeding answers on what to do in the OR. The evidence is presented, but it ultimately lies with the listener to choose what they believe to be the best practice.

    Nice listening for med students
The Depth of Anesthesia podcast did a good job of presenting its material in a way that was accessible and interesting, good for students gearing to go into anesthesia. Did a nice job of representing opposing viewpoints and using literature to back up its substance. Succinct. Thank you. -Janice, med student
