    Educational and practical
Great podcast- no sales, just solid investing education that also includes the importance of behavioral psychology.

    The best
This is the best podcast on finance. Take your time and digest the numerous insightful musings of an investment hall of famer.

    # 1 of my two favorite investing info programs
I downloaded your free books, listen to every podcast or watch on YouTube, share links with friends. Printed your etf recommendations and researched. Have added four of them to my portfolio. I never owned small caps if any kind. Now I do. Started my grandson, age 18,in a Roth with his earnings from summer jobs with the S&P 500 and one of your recommendations for small cap value. Really appreciate your program. Oh, # 2 is Rob Berger.

    Paul and team rock!
In a world full of get rich quickly maniacs, I humbly thank Paul Merriman for his leadership and showing us the true meaning of investing. Thank you for all that you do.

He’s good for retired and young people
Yes, Paul cannot give individual investors and yes, he is a bit long winded (he’s 80 so he needs a hobby), but his advice is mostly circling the almost retired (or retired) or to the very young. If you are in your 40s or 50s and you are late to investing, you’re out of luck. That said, I did follow his portfolios at Vanguard and so far so good. Mostly. I have added other Vanguard mutual funds, that he does not touch.

    Shame on you
How do you get more listeners to a podcast? All you need to do is mention Dave Ramsey. In a grandfatherly voice, Paul makes an attempt to cancel Dave Ramsey. Shame on you. I didn’t think you were the type of person that would try to cancel a lifetime of “trying” to help people by summarizing a 30 year journey in 45 minutes. Again, shame on you.

    Thank You!
Paul & team: Thanks for all you do! I use the Best In Class WW 50/50 Ultimate Buy and Hold strategy. Your Wednesday podcast helps me to have realistic expectations and helps me to remember never react emotionally to a down period. I really admire your commitment to educating the public. You guys are saints. -Jerry

    Best Financial Podcast Bar non
Paul explains the history and academic research behind his portfolios. Between his podcasts and his website I find his information to be the most actionable information available. His team is the best!

    Great info but…
I like Paul and team and the info provided but here are a few suggestions to make this podcast better. First, you need to rely less on charts that listeners are not looking at during the podcast. The length of these shows is too long. I thing 45 mins max would do it. Material needs to be presented more concisely. Also I am on board on the value of small cap value so let’s move on to other topics.

A lot of talking without saying anything
I feel like the subjects are important, but every time I listen I keep waiting for the payoff and never seem to get it. Its like going to an all day seminar that could have been summarized into a short email. Its so difficult to sift through the word salad Im left with more questions.

    Excited to Learn More
I recently discovered Paul on another podcast called earn and invest & I am so grateful for it. He has helped put what has always seemed like an overly complicated process, investing, into a more simplistic perspective that has encouraged me to become a more empowered and confident investor. I just got his book “We’re talking Millions” & I can’t wait to read it!

    Life’s too short
I like this podcast, not sure why others have given bad reviews, I too feel motivated and it makes sense to save on costs like playing defense by avoiding taxes, minimizing expenses, and buying more shares of small cap value etfs. I also requested to get free books from Stan the annuity man. Thanks!

    Great Podcast!
I've been listening for years. It's a great podcast to learn and keeps me on track with my strategy.
  • Listening in the DMV
    One Big Commercial
Just another investment management firm using their show to nominally talk about investing, but their main goal is to get customers. So many other good/great investing shows. Don't waste your time with this one.

    So much great info
Paul and his team are great! Easy to understand.

This podcast is not for the novice investor, but investing like Paul Merriman suggests will lead you to a happy and comfortable retirement. Thanks Paul, Daryl, and Chris!!

    Nonsense too slow and dragging
This used to be good not anymore. Too much slow talking and dragging for no reason. Very annoying. I listen to one and half speed still too slow. Waste of time

    Informative and entertaining!
I’ve avoided learning about investing for far too long! It seemed like a foreign language without ideas to connect to. After taking several of Paul’s zoom classes and listening to his podcasts, I’m finally starting to understand how it works. He’s a great teacher! I also love the entertaining way he interacts with guests! This podcast is one of my favorites!

    Best investment advice
Paul’s advice is data-driven, authentic and inspiring. I listen to a lot of podcasts. But this is the best financial advice anyone can find. Thanks Paul for your great service.

Gain peace and confidence for the long term
Paul’s podcasts have helped me to focus on the long term and stick with a consistent proven plan.

    Chock Full....
If you want to learn about investing including the history of the markets, behavioral finance, the volatile nature of investments, various ways to reach your goals, how to etch out an extra 1/2 a percent out of your portfolio returns - look no further because Paul Merriman has an encyclopedic memory bank and he’s graciously sharing it with everyone. They say education pays the best dividends, listen to Paul and reap those rewards.

    Great show!

Great show until you talk about crypto
Sound, wise investing advice when it comes to the stock market and long term investing. But I lost a lot of respect when they started talking about crypto. The first reason stated for not investing in crypto/Bitcoin was: “don’t invest in what you don’t understand”. Sounds like you probably educate yourself and understand it before giving advice on it... I don’t own any of it but I do want to learn about it. Their take on crypto was clearly intellectually lazy. It’s not that hard to understand if you do the right research.

    A Zig Ziggler atmosphere
Light hearted approach to the keys and rules of thumb for entering financial independence. Loads of free information. Give your money a purpose other than take out, cars, and Netflix. Pay attention and use simple tools to build an equity portfolio that achieves 7-11% compound rate of return. Realistic financial theater content not the CNBC flavor of the day news cycle. If you are a first time or seasoned investor this content raises questions you really need to ask.

Great show for the seasoned investor!
I loved the answers to the listener questions and how each response adds a new layer of understanding to my knowledge!

    Life-Changing Podcast
Investing can be confusing... I listened to both of Tony Robbins’ audiobooks ‘Money: Master The Game’ (an over 20 hour listen) and Unshakeable (a 6 hour listen). Great books, but they left me w/more questions than answers - plus I stayed on the fence after reading them, thinking I needed more money to start my investing journey. Well, two years (of wasted investing time) later, I came across Paul Merriman and the Team... and within two weeks of listening to Paul’s podcast: I now have a portfolio, I know exactly why I have what I have in my portfolio, and I’m automating all future contributions and some rebalancing - all because of Paul’s podcast. Tony Robbins’ books were great (truly), but Paul Merriman and Team got me to take Action! Thank you Paul, Chris and Daryl for the amazing FREE education and tools!

    Sound Investing
I love listening to and taking action on my retirement and investment portfolios based on the education I have obtained from Paul and his team. There are not enough people that take an interest in their personal finance but it’s in my opinion one of the best uses of time. I a grateful Paul has devoted so much time trying to educate people. Education is the key to upward mobility and a more secure future! I have shared this information with my parents, daughter, nephews, & co-workers. It really isn’t that difficult to manage you finances and save/compound the 1% you save from not paying an advisor. Save earlier, save more, stay the course and more than likely you will retire with millions. Paul and Team thanks for all you do for the average person!

    Love it but...
Love Paul and all he has given to the investing community. He has a heart of gold and is a wonderful teacher. I love his shoes where he answers listener questions much more than the shoes where he goes over charts. The chart episodes just are not good podcast material. Love the other shows he does. Paul has inspired me to start my own financial podcast, Simple Money, Simple Life. Thanks Paul for everything!

Great podcast series but this episode is “mistitled” I think
Was looking forward to hearing Paul’s team perhaps opine on the DCA v. Lump sum debate and instead got great info on distribution scenarios. Love the series and have restructured one of my ira’s to mirror the UBH 50-50 portfolio and my taxable account using the model portfolio UBH for taxable accounts. Let’s me then use my wife’s IRA for individual stocks.

    Great show
    Great advice to DIY investors

    Useful by Dry
Paul gives good advice but stylistically leaves a lot to be desired. At its best, this podcast has interviews and discussions with experts which are informative. At its worst, Paul regurgitates information from tables which are better accessed visually rather than through monotone soliloquies. Please stick to stories, interviews and questions (the interesting) and reference rather than read the data (the dull).

10 baskets, most of my eggs (UBAH)
Paul works with multiple experts and, using the Monte Carlo Simulation, has tested the approaches he outlines in his podcast. He answers emails and calls people to clarify their needs. He’s clearly devoted to his work, his readers, and his listeners. I trust him. Most of my eggs are in his Ultimate Buy and Hold Strategy. I’ve saved a few eggs to play with individual equities and ETFs.

    Great Advice
Paul you are a godsend to the diy investors who think they know it all , your proven track record tells it like it is . I only wish I would had come across the information of your teaching years ago . P.S keep it coming , Thank , Andrew
  • bkdsherrod
Thanks Paul (and Daryl & Chris too)
Thanks for helping all of us DIY'ers do it better, and with less risk! I have embraced your (and Jack Bogle's) strategy and I finally accepted that being an index investor by no means being average. I can hear myself 30 years ago asking many of the same questions you answer in your podcasts. I'm completely on board with the big 4; Allocate, Diversify, only use low cost funds, and stay the course. I pass it on to anyone who will listen (particularly to my young nephews-who are probably tired of hearing me). Its really enchanting to follow the siren song of the mainstream investment industry. It's really hard to find objective, unbiased information. Thanks for being there and helping all get to our financial goals

    The best financial teacher
If you are interested in taking control over your own finances, this is the best podcast out there. No boring commercial or fancy stock picks. This is the real deal. I never miss an episode. Thanks, Paul!

Paul and his crew have tirelessly tried to help DIY investors with life-long low-cost high-diversification investment strategies. It’s all taught, no fees ever! I chose to go with “The Ultimate Buy & Hold Strategy “.

Paul Merriman has opened my eyes to small cap investing!
I have to say before listening to this podcast, I was primarily investing in Large cap and following the investing strategies of other people on the FI journey. Go VTSAX! Although, I still invest in VTSAX in my non-tax deferred account, I’ve change my allocation to tilt to small cap value. I’m a 35 year old female and I’m really excited to know that I have a high chance of leaving something to my kids and maybe even grandkids with this new strategy. Thanks so much to Paul and the rest of his team!
