    Your are not credible
Was hoping to get some ‘real’ and ‘unbiased ‘ commentary regarding the Supreme Court but in the first 5 minutes of your show your proved that you are not knowledgeable - your analysis of Kamala Harris’ ascension as the Democrat presidential nominee is entirely flawed and it is a big deal despite your representation otherwise. You fail to acknowledge that Joe Biden received approximately 14 million votes as the democratic candidate. Harris received zero. That is very ‘undemocratic’ and definitely not the voice of the people as you say. You cannot just swap out a candidate because the convention was not held yet. Obviously cannot continue listening as I know it will be filled with more nonsense and failed analysis.

    smart women
I love this show which has smart women explaining legal stuff. Great legal review of Project 2025. Much appreciated!
  • EPBQ
    Makes me smarter.
I feel so much more educated after each pod. These women are brilliant and I will never stop listening but the only complaint I have is every time Leah pronounces the word “hundred” like “hunderd” it like, hurts my feelings. With fear for my earlobes, I dissent. Still, I love this pod!

    Quality content from big-brained women
The episode with Ruth Ben-Ghiat was sobering — she provided the context and history we all need in order to process the (lazily) concealed motives of the new right. I can handle the seriousness, but I do also love your banter and lightness to balance my brain.
  • Essalas
    Love the pod but …
Beautiful women. I love your pod. Fantastic content and insight. Two suggestions: First, you regularly talk over each other, often to offer an ironic quip. But it’s incomprehensible to the listener. Especially because we can’t see you, whatever was said by both persons is lost. Second, please stop the alcohol glorification comments. Big Alcohol is not a friend to women. It tells us we can’t cope without it. It shows up in the majority of sexual assaults. And it raises our risk of breast cancer 15-25%. Feminists can drink — that is a personal decision — but skip the comments glorifying alcohol. It’s not glorious for us a lot of the time. Thanks. Ellen Brostrom

    Good job
Someone should tell the “interviewer” at Fux News who asked Donny the Menace to define Project 2025 that “tome” is not pronounced “tomb” (unless that was a funereal Freudian slip rather than outright ignorance). If the latter, he might want to invest in a dictionary before these guys’ Auto-da-fe wet dreams ever actually get underway. That gaff would be funny if it wasn’t sinister.
  • RunnerinSD
    Careful…
Love the show. Love the deep dives. But please be careful with the assumption that all left leaning women work outside the home. I took my college-educated brain and used it for paid work for 4 years before becoming a stay at home mom for 16 years and counting. My brain isn’t vibrating from not being used, thank you very much. I still need my microwave. I get the humor, and that you were saying those vibrations were from being FORCED to stay home, but my gut reaction was a virtual middle finger to the hosts. I can let it go and keep listening, but that’s a great way to get curious listeners to turn you off and that’s not something any of us can afford right now. I listened because I specifically wanted Project 2025 info to share on an upcoming road trip with about 5 unsure voters- but now I can’t because of careless comments like that (2 other well educated SAHM’s in that group) Like I said- be careful, please. We need shows like these!

A Vital Voice for Justice Fighting against Oppression
In a time when American rights are under siege from extremist forces, “Strict Scrutiny” stands out as an essential podcast, providing not just legal analysis but a rallying cry for justice and action. The hosts, all legal scholars, expertly dissect the U.S. Supreme Court’s decisions, making complex legal issues accessible and urgent. What makes “Strict Scrutiny” indispensable is its commitment to empowering listeners. The podcast doesn’t just inform; it galvanizes its audience to push back against the growing threats to democracy, particularly from the MAGA movement. In a landscape rife with misinformation, “Strict Scrutiny” is a beacon of clarity, offering tools for understanding and resisting authoritarian encroachments. For anyone committed to protecting and advancing American rights and freedoms, “Strict Scrutiny” is not just a podcast—it’s a crucial resource and a guide for action.

    Wow :-(
If these three lawyers are representative of Condtitutional law professors, the US is in for long years of trouble. I listened to this one episode, and won’t listen to another. If the three panelists had spent as much time focusing on the language of the Constitution or the statutes at issue as they did making fun of Justice Gorsuch, the podcast would have a lot more credibility. One of the podcast’s sponsors was Babble, and that best describes the discussion in the podcast, even though they babbled about important issues.

    Toast to a great podcast!
This podcast offers deeply insightful and knowledgeable, but still very accessible, analyses of the Supreme Court and its rulings (the hosts are law professors after all), that illustrate especially well the rulings’ malign impacts on women, democracy and society in general. Listeners can also raise a Ginni Tonic or a Martharita to the hosts as they entertainingly and constructively mock the Court in a type of gleeful irreverence I haven’t seen since John Oliver produced his canine portraits of the justices. Highly recommended!

    Difficult Show
It’s hard to have a format like this when you can’t find a conservative that argues in good faith. Ross is smarmy and distasteful. Ross still continues to trumpet racist and sexist dog whistles constantly. Trump isn’t “being Trump.” He’s being racist. Walz didn’t say he went to war. That’s a lie.

This is a no-holds-barred discussion on the strange and bleak future of the John Roberts court as it ushers in ruling after ruling about authoritarianism in today’s Democracy. It’s the listen from Crooked Media that I look forward to every week as the whole Supreme Court becomes more and more unhinged. #KeepCrookedProgressive #FriendOfTheUnion

    Episode w/“JD” is the Best!
Clearly “JD” doesn’t realize the since 34% of ppl over 65 carry mortgages & that killing off Social Security & Medicare would cause an instant implosion of the US economy, helped along with killing off the $27 trillion bond market by converting to crypto, & putting an end to the FDIC.you can tell how upset the Magats are by reading the angry 1 star reviews.

I’m shocked but I’m not surprised that there’s this much misogyny on the federal bench
I’m shocked but I’m not surprised that there’s this much misogyny on the federal bench. there needs to be an inspector general for sexual-harassment on the federal bench. Apparently, it is widespread. Having judges police themselves is about effective as having gangsters police themselves. Ethics and the judiciary go together like oil and water.

    DEI for Men Episode
I love this podcast but felt slightly deflated while listening to the episode about the DEI for men. I get the Alito impersonation from last year, which was scripted, BTW, but I did not personally love hearing an entire show of someone playing JD Vance and even in jest playing out gender and sex stereotypes for such a prolonged period. The train was off the rails and no one course corrected. I enjoy humor and shenanigans intermingled with serious argumentation and analysis. This show wasn't that. I have been waiting weeks to hear about the Project 2025 series rollout and recommended that my entire book club listen. I know they will not listen to another episode like this, which is a huge bummer. I just wish I had heard more genuine analysis and fewer hyperbolic impersonations. Please provide us with the actual language of the project, as suggested. I don't want to have to read it.

    LOVE Strict Scrutiny! #FriendoftheUnion
Our current SCOTUS is a waking nightmare and Strict Scrutiny feels like a lantern lighting our path through the darkness. I look forward to the show every week and feel grateful for all the hard work that Melissa, Kate, and Leah put into keeping us informed around recent rulings on top of their day jobs! I am also a #FriendoftheUnion and hope that CM will #KeepCrookedProgressive by allowing ALL employees to participate in a fair bargaining process. Thanks to the whole Crooked team.

    Immunity
Yes, the issues at hand NOW are Trump’s indictments but if you take a step back the decision allows Presidential immunity for “ official acts” for Presidents Nothing in the opinion states it’s only for Trump- it’s a huge expansion of presidential power for ALL Presidents, including Biden and all others down the road- unless SCOTUS reverses itself
  • 145136
    They are lying
These people make up stuff that didn’t happen a quick google search can debunk 50% of their points and they only bring on guests that completely agree with them it is a echo chamber also 75% of the episodes are just complaining about trump
  • pauncheezeez
    It’s almost good
I want to like this show more; I enjoy shows that go deep into tedium with well-cited sources, historical context, and potential future impacts on society, but it is a bit cringy to hear non-teenaged people say things like “rizz”, “mid”, “Kris Jenner”, Taylor Swift references, etc. ad nauseam. Not a slight against their message, qualifications, and beliefs; it just feels clunky to have these references peppered in but that’s just my personal taste, while I’m sure there are others who find the show better for it. Either way, it’s worth a listen.

    Strict Stupidity
The Strict Scrutiny Podcast started as a scholarly podcast that educated and provided a terrific update on legal cases granted Certiorari by the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). When I initially began following and listening to this Podcast, the hosts and guests provided scholarly analyses of the justices’ decisions and dissents, analyses of amicus briefs, and overall, a terrific Podcast to stay up-to-date on all things SCOTUS. Most importantly, they achieved this with an entertaining format. Sadly, this is no longer the case (no pun intended). This Podcast is merely a platform for further divisive political rhetoric that, as of late, is eroding the judicial branch of our republic. I don’t mind the insertion of political opinions, but this Podcast is now merely a platform for the immature smearing of justices appointed by Republican presidents. Period. It is now clear why these hosts, and many of their guests, remained unable to make it in the legal profession. They could never survive a discussion, debate, or tête-à-têtewith any legal scholar with an opposing view. The Strict Scrutiny Podcast has devolved into an hour-long chiding of Republican-nominated justices and the deification of all the Democrat-appointed justices. If this tickles your fancy, then I highly recommend it. If you are looking for a podcast with hosts and guests who provide SCOTUS updates supported by actual legal intellect, then this is NOT the Podcast for you. One star is a gift.

    Crooked for the win always
Between Strict Scrutiny and Hysteria (TFG especially) the intelligent, dark humor mixed with pop culture references to help navigate through draconian laws and injustices popping up like whack-a-mole in modern society keeps me from pulling my hair out. Staying informed has never been so important but also deeply depressing. The podcast is an amazing balance to the fragile egos and small minds who’s personalities are comparable to wet laundry left in the washer overnight, attempting to drag us to a gilead- adjacent future in order to heal their mommy issues. Love it!!!

    Josh Hawley Episode
let us not criticize people’s physiques, even guys/male physiques. It gives me a yucky feeling and it takes away from the speaker’s credibility.

That’s it. These women are smart, kind and they crack me up. They give me hope despite the craven tendencies of SCROTUS. Oops. I “accidentally” added an R for Republican…..

JVN is Not an Acceptable Guest
I love this podcast almost all of the time. But y’all, it’s not 2018 anymore. We all know JVN is an abusive creator of hostile work environments. JVN does not deserve to be platformed, particularly by a group that cares so much for human rights. They actively violate the rights of others, and entertainment value cannot excuse this. I will return my rating to 5 stars when the hosts address this misstep and pledge not to platform JVN or ANYONE who abuses subordinates at work.

    My fave podcast
I look to this podcast every Monday morning to keep me informed about SCOTUS and other important judicial issues. These ladies are so incredibly smart and always make me feel like we are commiserating on what is happening to our country together. I feel like we’d be friends IRL sipping on our Ginni Tonics and gabbing about how much we admire KBJ, Sonia, and Elena 😍

    I’m not a lawyer but…
Even though a lot of the legalese is over my head, I’m learning a lot from these very smart, talented women! I know that they have my interest in mind, along with the majority of us who have no power beyond the right to vote (and protest). Thank you for breaking it down and keeping the masses informed! 🩷

A beacon of hope for those that previously chose to stay out of politics
When Roe v. Wade was overturned, I felt a profound sense of loss and despair. I cried in my car for a quite a few hot minutes. It was like a punch to the gut. I was broken, distraught, and deeply frustrated by a government that seemed intent on stripping away the rights of women. Politics had never been my thing, but this ruling felt like a direct attack on my autonomy, forcing me to pay attention. My mother gave me a unisex name because she knew it would give me a fairer chance against men. And my grandmother, who marched in the women’s rights movements, always talked about equality. I never really understood why until now. Seeing the growing resentment towards women gaining power has been a rude awakening. That's why this podcast has become a lifeline for me. The fact it’s created by educated and fair-minded women, is why its something I listen to religiously. It’s not just because they are women, but because they stand for what’s right. They offer a balance and integrity in their discussions that’s rare these days. Mind you, a sense of humor (always a welcomed taste). The way they dive into Supreme Court decisions and legal principles isn’t just educational—it’s empowering. Every episode reinforces my belief that fairness and justice are worth fighting for. The call by AOC today asking for the impeachment of Thomas and Alito was *chefs kiss* !!!! I think our girls might feel the same. The hosts remind me that equality isn’t a privilege; it’s a fundamental right. It’s what our predecessors fought for when they stood against tyranny. Strict Scrutiny is more than a podcast; it’s a beacon of hope in these dark times. It has reignited my hope and strengthened my resolve to advocate for equality. For anyone feeling lost or disillusioned, or that why we think not voting is an option, this podcast is a reminder that we’re not alone. The fight for justice and fairness continues, and we are part of it.

    Strict Scrutiny Rocks
I love these women who have been so smart at pointing out the “sorry decicis” SCOTUS for what it truly is: a menace to our democracy. I appreciate that they are smart, compassionate, and passionate, calling the things “the things” when it is truly called for. No half-stepping for these sheros. Thank you!!
