When are y’all coming back!? I need to hear your banter!!

I love the team hosting this. They are great to listen to and can have lots of insightful things to say. Nevertheless, I could not help but be cautious going into this because, regardless of how talented the hosts are, they are still working on a Netflix produced show intended to promote Netflix properties. It isn’t that I doubt what the hosts have to say. Rather, I can’t help but doubt what level of freedom they are given on actually critiquing the properties. It isn’t that they don’t critique, but it always feels slightly tampered. For me, it was the Locke and Key episode that did it. I have watched the entire show, the first two seasons 2 or 3 times. There is plenty to love, and they dig into those things in the episode. However, there are still so many problems with this show (and I don’t mean the fact that it chooses to be more fantasy than horror). The basic structure and writing on this show is very poor, and for a podcast about analyzing our favorite properties, I can’t help but feel its a prime example of the team being limited by existing to promote Netflix properties. My concerns with this Pod have been festering since it started, so it isn't just about this one episode either. I suspect some people may interpret this review as just me disagreeing with the hosts about a random show…but I don’t think I am. Quiete frankly, I don’t think they ever say exactly how much they actually like the show as a whole. They like a lot about it (as do I), but part of me wonders if they’d even cover it if it wasn’t a major Netflix SFF show. The fact that one of the hosts hasn’t even watched past season 1 (of 3) makes sense, and it speaks to the problems with Locke and Key—as much as we want to love it, there is a lot holding it back.

I am not usually a podcast person but I am absolutely a geeky person and geeked has converted me! Super happy I found out about this podcast from following the incredible Princess Weekes. As soon as a new Netflix show comes out, I’m excited to hear Princess and Tessa get into it. Love hearing about what yall are geeking out about and can’t wait for more!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series with Tessa and Princess and I hope their show can continue on!! I really appreciate all their summaries, opinions, breakdowns and the additional context they provide. It’s been a comfort show to listen to — to the point that I have listened to some episodes more than once — and it has been helpful in processing my own opinions about the shows they discuss. Please please please I need Princess and Tessa to return for more Geeked goodness!! <3

I absolutely love this podcast- I’ve been a huge fan of Tessa’s for a while and am now a big fan of Princess as well! They bring the fun, silly and fan-girl content that I had been craving and felt was missing from many other geek-centric podcasts. I’m always so excited to hear them discuss their ships in the obsessive way I feel about my ships- truly we are kindred spirits! I appreciate the perspective of two queer women who are fully seated in the throes of fandom culture that sometimes gets overlooked- the kinds of voices we need more of in all geek and fandom spaces. Thanks to them both for their excellent takes and wonderful selves in the pod!

It’s so much fun! Love it.

The analysis of the shows are really good and adds an additional perspective to keep enjoying the shows. One big recommendation: There’s no need for sound bytes of screaming to describe a character’s arch or transformation. Your audience is smart. We get it and to go from the pacing of an interview to cut to screaming is jarring. Examples being Witcher Season 1 Episodes Yennefer and Ciri.

I always wanted to listen to a podcast about one of my favorite fandoms and I’m so glad that this podcast exists and I’m gushing over the Pineapple Street Studios ppl that sailed this skiff.

All of his shows, although completely different from each other, or told with the same unique, thoughtful, engaging approach. I could listen to this guy all day.

I have listened to the stranger things episodes, and they were AMAZING. they went super in depth and I learned a lot of cool things about the show and how it was made. I also love umbrella academy and I will listen to the umbrella academy episodes when I eventually watch season 2 (rn I am banned from watching it bc my parents are anti lgbt. I’m not but not allowed to watch it rn) but I can’t wait for more behind the scenes to come out on other shows.

I absolutely LOVE The Umbrella Academy and this made me love it so much more. I had no idea how much effort went into this show and now that I do, I have a much deeper level of appreciation for it. All the work and details that go into this show are mind blowing, most of the details we don’t even notice. I just hope that I’m season three we get to explore more of Ben and figure out how he died. Anyways, overall it was just an amazing and very interesting Podcast, I strongly recommend.

This is an excellent in-depth behind the scenes podcast. I especially appreciated the sensitivity while discussing the civil rights episode. This is truly elevated podcasting, which I am thoroughly enjoying. Phenomenal job!

There are too few episodes. This podcast was so well done and the host is amazing. I feel like they could’ve done at least 5 more episodes. Preferably there would be one for each show episode as well as thematic ones on costumes, writing, production design, characters, etc.
