M A McconnellWish I had found this sooner!Melanie is one of the best prepared and most professional podcast hosts I have ever listened to. The depth and breadth she is able to cover, and the quality of her guests, put her into an entirely different tier of podcasts in my mind. Digging through the back catalogue now…

MeemorenSo much information!I have learned a huge amount from this podcast. I like the way Melanie gives a voice to different experts. Each podcast gives me further resources to pursue (or not, if it is not a subject that interests me). However, whether or not I follow up further, I have learned from every episode, and have been able to take quite a few suggestion to improve my life and health. I have really pared down the number of podcasts I listen to (just not enough time) but this podcast is definitely staying in my permanent lineup.

jes🥰Host has blatant eating disorder and is harming peopleThis podcast is DANGEROUS and is full of her normalizing eating disorder behaviors and selling it as “health”. Melanie is the WORST person to be giving out food, diet and weight loss advice!!’ After listening to way too many episodes of Melanie sharing how she eats, it’s clear she has an eating disorder. Her podcasts are heavily geared around this obsession and fixation on fat loss and weight loss. She lies about having hypothyroidism to get thyroid meds that will keep her in an underweight emaciated body. She is doing harm to people who are trying to be heathy. The ads are out of control, and she is just trying to make money off of her listeners, she’s not really concerned about helping people at all. All the supplements, NAD patches, products she takes and treatments she does to maintain her obsession of being skinny and underweight. On several podcasts She has talked about how she HAS lost weight and has a deep history of trying all sorts of diets and crazy ways of eating but then she will contradict that by saying she’s “always been the same weight and has always eaten the same.” Get your story straight! She literally talked about how she “lost a ton of weight” on the episode with Jonathan bailor! She said all she ate was meat and wine and lost a ton of weight. She considers herself a “public figure” on IG while she flaunts her boney sickly underweight body and her massive weight loss. She posts content of her doing EMSCUPLT for fat loss when she is severely underweight and looks emaciated. On a recent epsiode she talks about all she eats now is meat and cucumbers. She lies to herself and says that she gets enough protein, while she is completely emaciated. She even admitted that she doesn’t let herself eat anything else and she will watch food porn cake videos while she eats fruit. This is full blown anorexia behavior. But she’s NORMALZING IT. she even speaks to Vanessa on the IF podcast about how she’s “worried that all the protein she eats will cause fat gain”. Vanessa should be ashamed of herself for doing a podcast with someone who is so mentally ill. She can eat as much protein as she wants, it doesn’t change the fact that she has anoreixa / orthorexia. Eating protein only is rabbit starvation. It won’t keep you healthy, she is severely malnourished and continues to live in denial. She’s doing harm to people with Ed’s and without Ed’s because of her constant mission to be as skinny and thin as possible by all of the things she does. She’s irresponsible for putting out the content she does. How are people still supporting her? She needs a reality check and to take a real look at herself and ask herself how she considers herself a public figure in the health or wellness space. Hope she can get the help she needs because she continues to be submerged in disordered eating and weight loss while trying to convince people she’s healthy and normal. She deserves to be sued for the harm she is causing to so many people

Carolynn ShangrawLife changing podcastI started listening to this podcast in 2018. To say it has changed my life is such an understatement. Intermittent fasting has given me so much freedom from food obsession! I have also regained my mental sharpness and energy. On most days, I feel truly amazing. I remember hearing the words "Delay Don't Deny" from Gin all those years ago and a lightbulb literally went off in my head. I've never looked back! Thank you to Melanie, Gin, Cynthia and Vanessa. Gertrude95Knowledgable, Unbias, For the ResearcherThis podcast refrains from pushing any particular agenda. Instead, it provides factual studies and literature to empower listeners to draw their own conclusions. It changed my husbands life, he suffered ocular migraines (losing sight in one eye with each migraine) since early teen years and finding this podcast led us to fasting which not only controlled his reactive hyperglycemia, but resolved his migraines. Melanie's approach, akin to Dave Asprey, involves delving into studies with a discerning eye, revealing potential biases and findings. Her ability to navigate through research with precision and impartiality is truly commendable. She very intelligent and doing the work to help you live better. Hats off. Also, she cares about the environment- what's not to love! 3 Year Listener

blueskies1234567Ads too longTakes way too long for show to start. It starts like 12min in. The ads in between segments are so much longer than in other podcasts i listen to. All im doing here is fast forwarding bec the number of ads is too overwhelming to enjoy the actual show which doesnt seem bad if i didnt have to fast forward thru all the ads.

HuygelenMelanie Avalon has changed my life! When I started IF, I found Melanie Avalon on the IF Intermittent Fasting podcast around May 2018. I was enthralled and went back in time to listen to all the previous episodes. Throughout her evolution with her three co-hosts, I have solidified how fasting works best for me. Once she created her Biohacking podcast, the breadth of topics has opened my eyes to how I can further improve my health and longevity. Melanie asks thought provoking questions to get the most out of her esteemed guests and benefit her listeners. She is clever, thoroughly prepared and a joy to listen to while I learn. Bravo Melanie! Keep on keeping on!

Stephanie328272Love!!Excellent podcast!! Love, love, love!!

Charlotte Fox WeberbrilliantBrilliant conversationalist, and the tempo and pep of discussions keeps any listener deeply engaged!
-
MoxiegretlNot for meTried listening to an episode (from 2021)with a guest I’ve enjoyed on other podcasts but her style of interviewing isn’t for me - she had so much ditzy or nervous sounding laughing in the middle of her trying to ask a serious question or making a statement. I prefer more polished podcast hosts who can carry a conversation without so many annoying tics. Two stars because the content was valuable, one star for the host.
-
ChickamauwCan no longer supportI used to love this podcast but can longer support it and have unsubscribed. She has a very dangerous and disordered eating thought process. Melanie comes across to be anorexic from her instagram posts, and seems to be hiding it behind “intermittent fasting “. It’s a terrible example for an influencer to be glorifying this unhealthy obsession with weight loss and restriction.
-
zinc LozengesSO INFORMATIVE AND ACTIONABLEThe wide variety of topics and guests is Awesome. Melanie's questions are so insightful. She makes complex information interesting entertaining and understandable. Love it!
-
warrowsthis podcast is DANGEROUSAs someone who was hospitalized for a severe eating disorder at the age of only 13, I cannot in good conscious endorse or support Melanie Avalon’s podcasts or work as a social media wellness influencer. In fact, I don’t think ANYONE should trust or rely on Melanie’s idea of what “wellness” is in the first place. It is clear that while she often features interesting guests on her shows, she is nonetheless using her platform and influence to talk about her deeply disordered relationship with food and obsessions with losing excessive amounts of weight and looking as thin as possible— all while sharing this dangerous information under the guise of “health” advice and harmless dietary tips. For anyone who has struggled with an eating disorder or known someone else who has one, it is clear with one look at her Instagram page that she is dangerously emaciated as a result of restricting her caloric intake to extremely low levels and abusing prescription thyroid medication and countless amounts of sponsored supplements to stay thin. It is clear from her photos that her “expert” and “healthy” dietary habits have caused her to have a BMI that doctors would deem dangerously underweight. In the comments of her pictures and in her podcast reviews, you can see a number of people speaking about how Melanie’s advice is extremely triggering for them and has caused their eating disorders to worsen as a direct result of listening to her shows and following her on social media. When people have reached out to Melanie out of concern for her health and well-being, she has been rude and dismissive— pretending that she’s “always been this thin” and is just “naturally” as emaciated as she clearly is while it’s easy for anyone to Google her name and see photos of her from a few years ago where she appeared to be at a much healthier weight. I don’t understand how people can get upset and wage mass-scale internet campaigns of harassment and concern at figures such as Eugenia Cooney while Melanie Avalon receives no such attention despite the fact that she’s quite literally made a career out of starving herself and abusing weight-loss inducing medication. I don’t understand how the myriad of health and fitness brands that sponsor her shows and the manufacturers she works with in producing her own supplement line are okay with having their companies endorse the dangerous words and advice of someone like Melanie. I believe intermittent fasting can be a healthy and safe dietary choice for many people, but I do not think Melanie Avalon is interested in “health” so much as she is losing weight and being dangerously thin. In her old YouTube videos, the charade she has been putting on in her podcast clearly hasn’t fully developed to the point it has now as she openly talks about her history with fad, crash dieting, obsessive calorie counting and restriction, and prescription medication abuse. I don’t understand how the people around her and the many professionals she brings on her show can stand by and watch this woman starve herself, live a life that revolves around eating as little as possible and losing as much weight as possible, and pass off her disordered habits as HEALTH ADVICE and still say that they are interested in promoting health and wellness. Melanie Avalon is the farthest thing from healthy. At best, she is deeply sick and does not see the dangerous reality in front of her that has resulted from her actions, and at worse she is intentionally lying to her audience and passing off her eating disorder as a lifestyle choice. I’d like to believe the former. It is clear to see in her photos, and it is obvious she is so deep in her struggles with a severe eating disorder that she remains unwilling to admit to the realities of her caloric restriction and substance abuse. I truly hopes she sees this and takes my review, along with the many other reviews and comments echoing these same concerns, as a wake up call to get the help she so clearly needs, because the information she is sharing is clearly harmful to herself and thousands of vulnerable followers (many of whom are young girls, just like I was when I first developed an eating disorder) and I don’t think she’ll realize how dangerous it is until she ends up in the hospital with a feeding tube down her nose. If you really care about health, you’ll stop supporting Melanie Avalon as she continues to profit off of starving herself and encouraging others to take unregulated weight loss supplements and adopt similarly dangerous habits.
-
Jaydabomb3Humble and KindMelanie and her shows are amazing! I’ve been listening to her for years. She is extremely hardworking and smart and asks questions in such of a humble way for us listeners even though I think she knows the answers sometimes! I’ve learned sooo much from her! Keep up the great work and thank you!!

zarzanakA very educational and informative podcastMelanie is a fanatic when it comes to research. She dives in deep to review every topic she presents and has factual information to back up her advice. I trust everything she recommends because I know she has spent the time to make sure she has evidence to prove her advice. Not many people spend as much time on the research as she does. She is able to communicate her messages in an easy to understand way and is very kind and humble. I highly recommend her as a superb podcast resource!
-
Stacy_dSo informative!I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who wants tips and tricks to clean up their world! Melanie is easy to listen to. Love this and her other podcast.
-
(Z00l@nder)!Please be kindI in general enjoy this podcast. I support holistic and natural medicine and think they are amazing resources for people. I do think episode 184 with Elle Russ took bashing conventional medicine too far. Elle frequently says doctors are “dumb dumbs” which is not helpful. Western doctors spent almost a decade, sometimes more, past college in their education. They care deeply for their patients. Saying all doctors don’t know what they are talking about when it comes to thyroid disease is a gross over generalization, and is offensive to the people who dedicate their lives to helping patients.
-
Life_SailorLove itI have been listening to this podcast for more than 2 years ! And I can’t wait to be on Friday to get the new episode ! Love it
-
RC29707Excellent PodcastI really look forward to this podcast every week! I can tell Melanie puts tons of effort into it and is so well prepared for every episode. Her questions are thoughtful, and interesting. I appreciate how she's open to new ideas, but also has the courage to share a different point of view, as well. I also love the wide range of topics all woven together by the intention of helping folks become the best version of the themselves. I highly recommend this podcast.

Ms.Jennifer.KAll-Star Podcast!Melanie is incredibly smart and asks the BEST questions when interviewing her guests! She is hands-down one of the most talented interviewers I’ve ever listened to! Plus, she has such interesting guests! I have been binge listening to all of the old episodes. 💛

Jill DoppGreat guests, great interviews!I always enjoy and learn from this podcast. Melanie is very thoughtful and kind and her research is top notch, I can tell that the guests are grateful for the probing questions. She also makes them feel so comfortable - all great podcasting skills. I have dozens of podcasts that I follow but I never miss this biohacking podcast. I have learned so much (and have so much more to learn!) -- thanks Melanie for all of your hard work!

RWlistensSmart, in-depth interviewsMelanie is an excellent interviewer, she’s incredibly curious and smart about these topics, and what she doesn’t know, she seeks to find out by having on brilliant guests. I especially love the recent episode with R Blank. Incredibly helpful!

lmnoatpBEAUTYCOUNTER toxin free? Really?????Melanie, you, lost credibility with me in the first 5 minutes of listening to your podcast by promoting BEAUTYCOUNTER. I thought you researched everything? Evidently you only read the BEAUTYCOUNTER sales pitch (and not their ingredient lists) and bought it hook line and sinker. The compensation you receive for promoting them must have biased your research objectivity here. Instead of just reading their sales pitch and their FAQs of excuses, you should read and research their ingredient lists. Compare product for product to Poofy Organics ingredient lists, for example, to see a truly toxin free organic focused company. Truly I’m disappointed, I was looking forward to learning from you. One might say don’t throw the baby out with the bath water? I’m sorry, but if you can’t read BEAUTYCOUNTER labels, yet you sell your awesome sounding Serrapeptase based on the best, purest ingredients without toxic fillers, there’s a huge disconnect here. I can’t even…

Laurie LewisAMAZING questions!Nobody asks questions like Melanie does! She’s not only well-researched and well-practiced, but I’m constantly in awe of how Melanie links ideas together and poses outrageously insightful and clever questions. REFRESHING!!!

A. K. HillSuch a trusted resource!Melanie, I love how you dive deep into all the things you share on here. You do great research, it saves us followers from having to look too deep ourselves. Every week I’m curious what subject you are going to tackle! I find you to be a very inspirational person, not just a pretty face, but extremely smart too! If you have the time I think if you could find a way to reach a younger audience you could inspire and be a great role model for the next generation of young women. Thank you so much for all you do! Alice

BradkearnsExtremely informative and entertaining showThe host Melanie Avalon does a tremendous job conducting a very thoughtful and informative conversation. You can tell her preparation is exceptional and she routinely references material from the book written by the podcast guest. I appreciate the variety of guests who come on the show, as you can learn something new from everyone - even if they might have a different angle than other experts. This show is a great source of new information for me - I had never heard of things like deuterium depleted water and a bunch of other biohacking topics that Melanie covers on her show.
