    NO ADVERTISEMENTS!!
This podcast is proof that there can be high quality without ads every 5 mins taking time away from the story telling. ALL 3 seasons were perfect and the story flowed like water. If you’re lucky enough to stumble on this like I did, please don’t skip it

    Wonderful
This is a great story - mystery, thrills, and very well developed characters. The two leads are fantastic. The sound production is excellent and overall it’s a very polished work.

    Avoided for so long
This podcast has really turned out to be a nice surprise. I didn’t think that I’d like it, but it’s making its way up there on my top podcasts list!

One of the most underrated audio dramas
My new favorite sci fi audio drama . I’m a sucker for setting and this really delivers .

    Terrific audio drama!
Seriously, I subscribe to many audio drama podcasts. I have heard many from fantasy to science fiction. ‘The Call of the Void’ is on my top three list of best podcasts! The sound of the episodes is definitely number one in professional audio sound and voice acting! I loved this podcast!

    Fantastic!
Acting, writing, production value, cat sound effects are all top notch. Like the love child of Stranger Things, Near Dark, and Constantine. You really root for the main characters, sharing in every victory and mourning with their every loss. I binge listened almost start to finish. Can’t wait for more from this team!

    Worthy of the love
I’m going to put this one next to Black Tapes on my recommendation list. I love audio dramas but they certainly aren’t created equally. I enjoy that this one is scary without being gruesome. The production/writing/acting is fun to follow from the beginning. A lot of audio dramas make you work for it at first.

    Great characters, good story
The characters are amazing. Wonderfully written, well acted, great chemistry. The story is solid overall, a typical lovecraftian eldritch horror kind of deal. I was invested. The sound editing is not good, however. It’s very difficult, bordering sometimes on impossible, to understand what’s happening during action scenes, which are little more than a lot of grunting and crashing noises, and the volume difference between that and dialogue scenes is maddening. But the characters make up for those shortcomings.

    A beautiful lovecraftian mystery
If you are a fan of cosmic horror or lovecraft, this is a excellent audiodrama for you. There are lots of nods to other cosmic horror stories (like The Color Out of Space), but the world of this show is still totally unique. I highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of cosmic horror or weird fiction. Will be listening to more by these guys!

    No thank you
I’m sorry I hate dragging a creation through the mud and keep in mind that this is just one persons opinion- this one is just not for me! I gave it a solid go an didn’t give up on it until after five episodes. I just can’t handle the bad sound quality and getting through five episodes was a struggle because I kept falling asleep- no matter what else I was doing at the time. Sorry guys. But this is again- just my opinion. Someone else might be super into it. Who knows.

    Excellent surprise
Found this show by luck and quickly became one of my favorites of the genre. Great story, writing and awesome characters.

    Very interesting and entertaining!

Story has become a rambling mess
The show has a decent idea, I listened through season 2 and is has just become voices and sound effects. It is really difficult to follow the story through all the noise. The dialogue given to the main characters is child like, meaning they don’t seem to be adults. Poor Topher sounds like a confused 8 year old throughout most of this show. This show could benefit from more actual story telling and less dull dialog. Sadly I don’t care enough about any of these characters to continue with this story if there is a season three.

    Great story, well told
Call of the Void has it all: heart, humor, drama, horror, mystery, originality. and more! Each season progresses at just the right pace to a satisfying conclusion. And the production gets better and better with each episode. A great ride, from start to epilogue.

    Great cast
The actors are great! I am still on chapter 2 and thought the prison guard over the top and the swamp scientist just out there. I can’t wait to finish and start chapter 3.

    Immersive Sound Design
As an audio drama creator myself, I envy the Hermans’ ability to create an impossibly great aural tapestry. The listener can’t help but feel entranced. Especially in the most tense of moments. -John S. Badger Universe25

    Bingeworthy greatness!
This show is absolutely fabulous. The voice acting and sound design are top tier. The story is intriguing and it’s easy to listen to the whole thing in one sitting. The podcast is chill inducing and it keeps you wanting more. Absolutely addicting! -Dreadwood Press Radio family

    Fabulous!
I love everything about this podcast! From the characters to the music to the whole wild story. 5 ⭐️ stars. I was lucky that I just happened to find this on the Likewise App. I was able to listen to all of Season 1 & 2 in a row! Now I am like everyone else and have to wait for each episode of Season 3! The wait is long (it just feels long) and can hardly wait to see where this goes next.

    Amazing horror genre gem
Absolutely love the story, twists, writing and voice acting is pretty darn good too. The music and sound effects are incorporated very well, not overpowering the voices but not subtle and hidden in their work. Definitely a show I binged once I got through episode one, hooked from the beginning.

    Flawed People, Great Fiction
The first two seasons of this show have been exceptional. The characters are charming and emotionally real, and the science fiction thriller elements are aided by tremendous audio mixing. True moments of tension, true moments of feeling. Cannot wait for season 3.

Wonderful and gripping horror/thriller audio drama!
Great audio dramas start and stop with its characters, and this audio drama has some great ones! Loved the dynamic between Etsy and Topher. It's impeccably scored, the sound effects are immersive, the writing keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the mystery is engaging. Would highly recommend! - Riffage Media
  • Ronoz890
    Pretty good for sure, but…
Great show but Etsy’s character gets old fast - she responds to everyone like they're an a-hole, the whole Daria-like angsty vibe is tired. It’s contrasted further by how kind everyone is to her.
  • Cody, First of His Name
    80s sci-fi style in a modern setting
This is an awesome show - the plot is like stranger things but it’s more gripping and allows the horror to be as terrifying as your imagination makes it

    So far so great
I’m three episodes in and I’m hooked. The sounds are great, I’ve jumped twice already. Granted I fright easily. I would recommend this podcast for others.

    Excellent
I love this show. The plot is very simple, and maybe nothing extremely ground breaking, but the characters are absolutely what makes it. I LOVE LOVE the dynamic between Etsy and Topher, and each episode hooked me right from beginning to end. The voice actors and sounds are phenomenal and I find myself rooting for the characters the entire way. I also really love that it’s a weekly podcast. There’s always an episode to look forward to!🤗

    Pretty bad
Acting is baaaaaad. Reading from a script. Story is hockey. It’s bad all around.
  • MorrSett
    Amazing start….
Poor finish….these guys obviously moved on to other projects. Season 2 is half of the story season one is, main acting is decent. Bummer that it ran out of steam….

    Love it!
I just can’t get enough! I love this podcast!

    So Engaging!
Great acting, writing, sound effects! The movie in your head just springs to life!

    Great plot and interesting characters
This is one of the better horror/sci fi fiction podcasts out there. I’d say it is as good as the Black Tapes Podcast. It features a quantum scientist who goes ill and whose kids (about college age) investigate what’s going on. They become friends with a palm-reading petty criminal. I enjoyed the story and the way they were able to communicate drama and emotion without tons of strong profanity. The couple areas that seemed weird to me were characterization and dialogue. Some characters seem to develop new personality traits out of nowhere or do unusual things without strong motivation (like Etsy’s delinquency, which seems more like flavor than an essential character trait motivated by anything useful to her). As for the dialogue, a lot of the podcast sounds like the people talking aren’t in the same room. One person speaks a complete sentence, then pauses a few seconds, then the other person responds. There’s no real back and forth or speech overlap. The last two episodes of season 2 don’t have this issue, so I don’t expect it to be there in season 3.

    Very intriguing, spooky and intimate
Audio drama that really draws you in quietly. Being in New Orleans makes this more real than I want 😉

    Great podcast!!
Great show, looking forward to S3

Great for fans of cosmic horror
Mystery and cosmic horror abound against the backdrop of New Orleans. The eerie atmosphere of this show is almost palpable, and so well done.
  • LaRocque66
    Poor Robert Chambers
A terrific, entertaining series, but why bring in an established literary figure from another writer if you’re just going to rewrite him? Wouldn’t it be better to give the character a new name?
  • shan_shan_
    It was alright
The first season was decent, though the unbalanced audio makes it infuriating to listen to since you have to adjust the volume in just about every scene. The plot is interesting enough, but it’s dulled by unrealistic dialogue and poor acting on the part of the secondary characters. Season two was a bit of a wash. It went on for wayyyy too long and the plot started to dwindle with every episode—culminating in a season two finale on par with a very, very low quality action movie. There are too many sound-heavy scenes without accompanying visuals, so the listener has no idea what’s happening. In short: Good story, poor execution. Sound design could use some work.

    Binge this!
Extraordinary characters (and voice acting of them) and gripping story lines are combined with professional production. If you enjoyed Stranger Things, Limetown, or The Magnus Archives, this is your next favorite podcast!

    Yasssss!
Oh man, this is the podcast I have been dreaming of! It’s intriguing and mysterious, the writing is amazing, the acting is freakin awesome, the sound design is On Point. It truly is the complete package and I can’t recommend it enough! I’m in love with this creepy and beautiful show!!

    Riveting and Immersive
10/10! This show really gets you to care about the characters while also doing fantastic world-building/mythos-building with a unique twist on lovecraftian themes. I wish every podcast were as immersive as this one. And the soundscape it creates is without peer. Usually when unexplainable indescribable stuff is happening in weird fiction it can easily become just chaotic noise when adapted to audio form, but they manage to make it followable while still soul-crushing. Absolutely love the show.
  • Egamma
    Great story, great audio
I also absolutely love how awkward the speech of the male protagonist is.
  • KittenthKittenthKittenth
    Totally Bingeworthy!!
Absolutely loving this show! Exciting story telling, colorful worlds, characters you feel like you know. Dive in for a great journey into what lies on the other side.

    Seasons seem disjointed
Season 1 was amazing!!!! Season 2 felt disjointed and all over the place. Some season 2 episodes made minimal sense and were just confusing.
  • Jesusfreakgirl12
    Just bad
The script is really cringey and stilted, only made worse by the awful acting. Inconsistent amounts of background noise adds to the unrealistic feel. Audio levels are extremely unbalanced so you can’t wear headphones without constantly adjusting the volume to account for the intermittent screaming and whispering. You can tell production level is very low. The story is initially interesting enough to make up for the atrocious production, but eventually it’s just too much. Couldn’t get past season 1- just don’t waste your time.

    I want to like this
This is clearly a labor of love, and parts of it really appeal to me, but, in a lot of ways, this show feels like it was designed with a mind to emotional impact and shock, as opposed to plot coherence or earning that impact. Many parts of this show feel contrived to make the listener uncomfortable or overwhelmed, and the rest of the story does not always make those parts worthwhile. The plot kind of wanders around, then suddenly everything happens, and the story relies largely on exposition that doesn’t feel real or grounded but very much gives the impression of wanting to be. Honestly this is sort of upsetting to listen to, particularly the sequences with the auditory hallucinations, and it doesn’t make enough sense plot-wise to earn the amount of discomfort it causes. It feels like the sequences of overlapping voices shouting was the goal, and the plot was secondary to delivering the most intensely jarring listening experience possible. As was said in another review, this show would really benefit from being edited by someone with experience in plot structuring and dialogue writing. There’s a lot to like however, and I hope the creators keep at it.

    Yasss! New season finally!
The Multiverse Paradox is pleased to see the journey continue! Such fantastic world building and story telling. There’s been a… void in my life since season 1 ended. Some might say… there’s been THE void in my life but those people tend to look to the sky more often then not. Going no-contact and keeping my eyes to the ground. I’ve been brainwashed enough… now about those pesky aliens.🌈🥐
