    Thanks
I really started playing live three years ago. In that time I have tried a number of methods to learn better poker. Without question Brett's podcast has been the best way I have learned, and i am only through two seasons. I have employed several techniques brett has suggested, which have immediately changed the game I play. Thanks for this podcast!!

    Great poker info
Love the podcast, ive been listening for about 6 months now. I play in a weekly poker cash game we usually have between 7-9 players, $1000-$1500 total. I have been a losing player i would say if I'm being honest, but after listening to your podcast starting with your first podcast to I just got done listening to the 5 pillars of poker. Over the past month I'm up $1000 profit. R, Jeff

    Good Podcast
I really enjoy listening to Brett as he gives a very simplistic, yet super effective strategy for low limit cash players. His content has helped see how I play in a different light. My only critique is that the podcast started out with the big proponent of not selling the listeners anything or subscribing to a membership; however, now that’s about half the podcast unfortunately unless you pay extra. Totally understand that’s how Brett’s determined that he would get value, but just seemed to go in the opposite direction of what he was promoting at the start.

    Immediate Improvement
I am a casual break even player. I love playing poker but don’t have the time to invest heavily into it. Found this podcast a few weeks ago and have now listened to nearly every episode. I have played my local 1/2 game twice since finding this pod and have more than tripled my money on each visit. I feel much more comfortable at the table and have a much higher understanding of what is going on. This podcast is exactly what you are looking for! I cannot recommend it enough!

    A daily listen
The best poker podcast for low limit players, be it live or online. I try to listen each day before I play and am on about my 4th listen-through. Great content that has opened my eyes and got me to look further into concepts I had little-to-no idea about. If you have the discipline to apply what Brett teaches, you will vastly improve your game.

Thoughtful , helpful, easy to understand
I’m a new poker player. I have been getting smoked at local 1/2 no limit. I have started to listen to this podcast and read some information about poker. This podcast plus reading has helped me tremendously. I am making better decisions and winning small amounts of money. The podcast is easy to understand even if just passively. I look foreword to each episode

    Time well spent
I, unfortunately, just found this great podcast. I have been playing poker for 25 years. Winning some, but not as much as I could have. The concepts discussed here have really changed the way I approach low limit poker. The way they are presented is incredibly helpful. Brent has a gift for explaining logic and math in a way that is easy to understand. He also provides insights that easily let me identify where I have been making mistakes. The way the concepts are discussed, I often think “ oh wow, this is exactly how I have handled the situation”. Then he explains why I need to change and how to implement the change. I say it in the title. If you’re a lower limit hold em player who is losing or treading water, I’m confident you’ll find the conversation applicable and useful. Put this podcast in your rotation!

    Excellent!
This guy is outstanding ! (for 1/2 games.) Very practical, good advice.. not complicated, down to earth. I also joined his paid podcast (5$/month) after listening some of these episodes. Nice guy, no ego. Practical stuff for low limit players.. (much better than tv video streams)

    Best Poker Podcast
Brett is a classy, seasoned vet. Easy to understand and doesn’t sell anything, just wisdom

Good content but lots of non-content
I gave 5 stars because he is trying and his training content is good, when it plays. I don’t wish to punish this kind author. BUT it needs to be said: I understand the need to promote the paid portion but this guy is unfortunately spending 25% time on promoting the paid content. I can’t trust that the paid content (he states $5 per month) will not turn into even more advertising for more things. He’s spending 7 minutes on promotion in some episodes.

    Just a sales pitch
The entire podcast is just a commercial to try to get you to pay him through his patreon or subscribe to his pay content.

    Things have changed
I used to really enjoy this podcast when it first came out. It was packed with information and real world applicability. Somewhere along the way it morphed into an advertisement for the hosts other revenue streams for training and to become “fans of the show” which is a euphemism for paying him. He just announced that the show will only air once a month for free members vs. weekly if you decide to pay. He has every right to take this approach (his business). I do find it humorous that he says when this happens his sanity will return to normal and be stress free. If you’re doing the same number of shows as you have all along, how does stress go down? He tries to spin this as good for the listeners so we don’t have to listen to his ads. Very disingenuous. Again, he can run his business as he wishes but at least be honest. He repeatedly reminds us that he is financially set(I do not question this) and is not doing this for the money but every move he’s made recently indicates he’s trying to capitalize as much as possible.

    A map through the jungle
This website changed to me from someone who sits down, looks at my cards, looks at my chips, and says, "what do I do now?" into someone who sits down, looks around, and knows what things I should be thinking about at each stage of a poker hand, and then gives useful best practices for each decision point. If poker is a jungle, LLCG is Google maps.

How to learn poker without feeling dumb
This podcast is a great way to improve your poker game if you are a beginner 1-2 cash player. Best podcast I’ve found so far. Almost finished with season 2, listening in order.

    Great Poker Content!
A friend shared this podcast with me and I’ve been listening weekly since. Keep up the great work!!

    Mediocre advice at best
If you are an experienced 1-2/1-3 NLH player and you listen to these episodes, you will quickly realize that the advice is correct about 50% of the time. I wouldn't waste your time here

This podcast has been a tremendous help to me as a longtime player, and slightly winning player. Brett has taught me so many powerful and effective concepts, which I’ve been able to incorporate into my 1/2 game. I have been unable to find other podcasts, which speak directly to situations which occur in my experience. This podcast is a must for all new, losing, or slightly winning players out low stakes no limit hold ‘em. Keep up the good work, Brett, you are the man.

    Relevant and easy to implement
    Great information, thank you!

    Great time investment!
Excellent, pertinent information for the low stakes player. Each episode has a nugget that you can implement into your game immediately. So impressed with the content I became a Patreon member as well. I’ve been a member of other training sites and had to find content that pertained to low limit cash games among all of the other items. This is wonderful for us $1/2 and $1/3 cash game players.

Very good podcast for the poker I play.
Love your insights on the 1-2 low limit poker. That’s where I am comfortable playing, plus it’s the house games I play. When I travel to Vegas, that’s what I play. You have helped me to gain knowledge about Preflop betting, which I use to struggle. This past year I have been a winning player 80-90% of the time. So I appreciate this podcast very much. My friend told me about you and started listening a few months ago, so I still haven’t made it to the current episodes, because I am listening from the beginning.

    Great Podcast!!!
This is one of the best podcasts for low stake cash game players beginner to intermediate skill level. Very easily digestible, not super advanced which is perfect for my level. lots of great advice that is applicable in your games.

    A Great Listen
Brett does a fantastic job conveying information to one, such as myself, who is in the beginning stages of trying to be consistently profitable at poker. I’ve played strictly for entertainment purposes for the last 35 years. A big win was $20. A big loss was $10. We would drink and “splash around”. Seeing this entertainment can be profitable, I tried playing to actually win. But my game needs massive improvements to do so. I’m taking a month off to reevaluate my situation. I found that listening to Brett, my eyes are seeing this game in a whole new light. Looking forward to bringing my new intellect to the tables. Even if I’m not profitable in the beginning, I know how to find my leaks and improve because of Brett.

    Happy accidents
Stumbled into this poker podcast via another and immediately felt like I was home. Listened to a couple recent episodes and knew this podcast was more likely than any other to help improve my game. (Not saying any will, haha) Went back to episode one and am working my way chronologically through the first year. Thank you!

    I win now
Thanks Brett! I went from being a break-even player, at best, to almost instantly winning once I started listening to the pod. Turned a $300 bankroll into $3400 in a month playing 1/2. Only buying in for $200 and playing 2 hrs at a time usually. Sitting at $50/hr.

The best free poker training you can get
I wish I’d discovered this podcast 3 or 4 years ago. I’ve paid for poker training that just confused me with all its intricate mathematics and insider terminology (that seems to be designed to impress). This podcast is honest, free, and practical. I love it.

Great content that is easy to digest and apply.

    Listen to him!
Great podcast with good insight and straightforward explanations of a infinitely complex game. He has flat out improved my game. I can honestly say that since I’ve been listening and incorporating strategies he has espoused, I haven had a losing session. Obviously I know that can’t last forever, and there is a difference between correlation and causation, but I am more confident and comfortable in my decision making now. As an aside, he also immediately responded to a question I had about a hand on social media. Appreciate you!

    Fix your leaks
This podcast has been so helpful in showing me the unprofitable decisions I’ve been making. Since listening I’ve become a consistently winning player. Thanks so much for giving away this information for free!

    Very much worth your time
This is a great podcast for anyone playing poker. It's clearly made for newer players and lower limit but I think any poker player can benefit from this. Concepts reviewed in this podcast have significantly improved my game, my understanding of betting strategies, my leaks, and it's entertaining if you enjoy poker talk. This is taught by a humble and knowledgeable player, which is a breath of fresh air. The poker room doesn't need more ego am I right? Thanks for making this podcast. I appreciate you greatly. Next time you're in Blackhawk I hope we can play together.

    Great Content for Low-Limit Games!!
I found this podcast through Bart Hansen’s content and I’m so glad I did. Having a podcast that doesn’t focus on the nosebleed levels and details the unique conditions of a local card room and low-level players has helped improve my game tremendously in a short period of time. Great advice and VERY applicable!!
  • E S High
    Helpful and easy to understand.
I wish I had this podcast years ago, I would have won a lot more money. Specific topics, clearly presented and simple to understand. I have really enjoyed the discussions around ranges, leaks, and exploitative strategy. This has become my new favorite podcast.

    Great Podcast
Great podcast for low limit poker. Brett does a great job at making it feel like we are just talking poker. I kind of just hope not many people where I live hear it. But it’s great I do recommend it to anyone reading it. Won’t regret it.

    Low limit cash game
Every episode I find a couple of things he says helpful and useful to use at the tables. Also there are some episodes that I’ve found tremendously helpful with some leaks in my game and I’ve been playing for almost 20 years and profitable for the last 10 years!!

  • Mike the Vendor
    Glad that I found you
Have tried several other podcasts and YouTube videos and you have been one of the best for my game. Only found you a few months ago and listen primarily in the car and when I walk the dog. I am you standard recreational player that doesn’t get to play as much as I would like. A lot of what I have learned from you is how to focus on my play while at the table. What did Brett tell me about this situation? Keep up the great work, hope that you will be around for a long while and continue to be successful on the felt.
  • Bartleby the Cat
Great podcast for beginners and recreational players
While this podcast targets the $1/$2 games, I think its appeal is broader than that. I’ve been playing a couple of home games with friends for over 15 years. I enjoy Brett’s sensibilities and his folksy approach to understanding poker. No Limit Hold’em is such a fascinatingly nuanced game, I don’t have to venture into a casino to be able to appreciate what this podcast offers.
