Traditional Catholic WomanWorth Every MinuteAngela & Shaye are trailblazers in all things femininity, homemaking, & healthy living! They bring the joy back to womanhood that has been lost in our culture. Their podcast has helped me prepare for my vocation as a wife and mother. I owe them and their families many prayers of blessing! Thank you.

SavannahHoagThese Women Are My PeopleI feel a little outdated being only 32, but I’ve been listening since I was about 29 and unmarried. Now I’m married and a FTM with my 1 year old and I love listening to them even more. They’re tips, tricks, quotes, inspirational rants (and they’re negative rants 😂), helpful things for families and parents is my life blood. I saved Shaye’s Christmas gift idea (something they want, something they need, etc.), and saved Charlotte Mason to possibly get into as our family grows and gets older. They are so relatable and REAL. They’re like my women’s group on the go. Love, love, love them. 🤍 Wish they had a Substack or something where they could discuss all their conspiracy theories and other “inappropriate” content.

4HPSDon’t Ever Leave UsYou two have been the absolute best thing to happen to me since I found you. Each time I listen, I’m inspired to go and do, to slow down and revel in the beauty of this life, reminded of the holy work I’m called to in my home. It’s not always glorious, but it can be infused with beauty, and it is always valuable. I’m so immeasurably thankful to have found kindreds.

matttabpangburnI get to feel girly while being a BOSS mom!I laugh, I learn and I am inspired greatly! Shaye... Angela...I love you both!! 😜❤️ Thank you for inspiring me to stick with my loves and dreams all while learning so much from you on the homestead front. 💋

what’sitallaboutWhat’s up with the inappropriate laughing all the time. This latest episode with Darla as a guest was really frustrating to listen to. Shaye’s constant cackling undermined the integrity and power of the message. It’s just weird to laugh at everything you or someone else says. I really wish Shaye were a little more emotionally mature and a little less self-involved. These things would take the podcast up a notch.

kat purnalThis podcast shapes lives.I followed Shaye Elliot for eight years now. I was one of the first people to hear the podcast, and I listened to every single episode. I’m 23 stay at home momma with three children and a husband that works full-time. Let me tell you, without these girls… I’m not sure how my house could function properly. They really showed me that the LAUNDRY matters. My JOB matters. Every small detail matters! Thank you Angela and Shaye from the Paz family. You’ve made impact on my life and changed it for my childrens sake. Creating generational values because of y’all! Bless you both❤️

GirlMama#2Great Podcast! This podcast brings me so much JOY!! Love your friendship and the content you share. Keep the episodes coming!

LM8784Keep going!!Keep sharing the good news and telling us about your faith!

ABT03Have learned a lot but take it with a grain of saltI’ve learned a lot about homemaking from this show, however if you don’t pay close attention to what you’re paying close attention to, some noise and a lot of opinion stated as utter fact (sometimes as it relates to theology, life and death, I can go on) creeps in and you can turn it off feeling really confused about what just happened. Ultimately I have had to stop listening because Shaye is a textbook martyr and the amount of shame for any woman, mom, really anyone, not being one too, is insane. It is created with a narrow lens.

Sarah GoldenSunshineKeep Going Angela and Shaye!!The reoccurring message that these two ladies share is this- everything is just for a season. Both ladies have been through a great deal of life and have hope because of their faith and the community of family and friends they have fostered around them. They are not perfect and certainly not scripted, but overflowing with joy, true joy. I hope to be a customer to more of your sponsors one day. You two make all the things sound so lovely. For now, my wine glass is happily full- of safe clean drinking water, lol. Cheers :)

audzilla98Taking issue with this podcastI have nothing inherently negative to say about homemaker chic. I do believe the reason so many take issue with this podcast is given the term “homemaker” is the first word in the podcast title, most would assume this applies to all homemakers on the spectrum. However, Shaye & Angela are extremely similar in their tastes, & their entrepreneurial “influencer” lifestyle, & this can lead to very narrow views on very broad topics across the board. I myself have not been necessarily “offended” as some have been by their controversial comments at times, but have rather chuckled at their banter & friendship that has saturated this podcast in a beautiful way. I do however believe that since they seldom have guests on, their views or rather brash statements on a variety of subjects are never brought into question. It’s wonderful to hear yourself talk for an hour to someone who agrees with you wholly on each & every topic & never holds a mirror up to your statements. That being said, Shaye & Angela birthed this podcast & can say whatever they wish. I’m stepping away from this podcast because of the hypocrisy that I have felt in this podcast several times. They fully endorse expensive & quite lavish products that most in my very own circle could not even hope to afford. Yet they bash women who prioritize having nicer vehicles or a Stanley cup perhaps(this one blew my mind. Especially after they endorsed a rather expensive CLOTHES iron $500! To be exact!) Everyone’s priorities are vastly different. I believe this is completely disregarded in homemaker chic. Some of the broad statements they make simply are not true for everyone. I also dislike Shaye’s ugly comments about the south & southern women. Their truth is simply not every American woman’s truth. My mamaw cooked on an old 1930s stove for 6 children & ironed clothes the old fashioned way with an iron that was heated on an old wood fire stove. Sometimes these ladies need to check their privilege. Is it nice to have the finer things in life? Absolutely! Do you need to be boujee to be a good, great homemaker? Absolutely NOT. In the end, my only issue with this podcast is their apparent lack of self evaluation & hypocrisy that’s sprinkled throughout.

Pottery12!Thank God for this showMuch needed sanity with two littles at home. I love my babies, but I love feeling like a part of these ladies conversation !!
-
cpritzlPlease do not take health advice from these twoI genuinely enjoy aspects of this podcast. But the health advice would be criminal if they held a license. Fluoride is toxic according to them—but they fail to mention that clove oil is a scheduled carcinogen. The dose makes the poison. They are complete chemophobes who lack the education to know any better. The people they say to follow are utter quacks and that they would promote some of this baloney is shameful. And you should hear what they have to say about genetics—if people didn’t hang on their every word it’d be comical!
-
FinettemacheteRefreshingHaving small children right now I don’t get out much, listening to Shane and Angela is like inviting a couple friends into my kitchen when I have to do the dishes. It’s perfect for this season of my life. Love to you both <3

Cherrygirl5LovelyGreat conversations being had.

luvAVLGuiding Light! These women are so real, so relatable, so honest and kind. Modesty, moderation, health and positive perspective... they are the role model I've been looking for. So grateful for their work! Thank you!

HorseandFarmandGardenSo good!Really really enjoy the show. Haven’t missed an episode and have honestly learned so much about homemaking and gardening and cooking. As a listener I don’t expect to have perfect hosts at all, and they can do whatever they want - their show! But a dash of humility and apologies (when needed) and compassion would soften their judgmental tones. I’d like to hear specific topics covered because when there is no direction, the convo seems to go back to their same talking points again and again. Lots of repetition. I’d love to hear more cooking! More farm life! More parenting! I know these two incredible ladies have much to share. I’ll keep being a listener 🙂

Hanna RodasMy top podcast for over three yearsI have been listening to this podcast since summer of 2023…I originally found Homemaker chic in though Lisa Boone’s podcast. I am a podcast girl all the way! That being said, I usually go in phases of really liking a podcast and then forgetting about it after a while. This is the only podcast that I have consistently stuck to ever since I started listening. I used to carpool to work with my sister and we would turn on the latest homemaker chic episode; it was the best part of our day! I find Shaye and Angela so incredibly genuine and relatable. I always wait with anticipation for a new episode to come out. When I started listening to the show, I was unmarried, in college, and living at home. Now I am recently married and learning to develop and maintain a little home of my own. Shaye and Angela instilled in me a love for homemaking and creating beauty in the world around me. I can’t stop recommending them to my friends and family!
-
jennalynuptonIt’s gone downhill…The number of advertisements, the lack of topic, Shaye dominating the conversation always. Blegh. I used to love this podcast but I haven’t listened to a new one in a while bc of these things.
-
WAPFmomTheology according to ShayeOh my goodness! The garbage spewing out of Shaye’s mouth makes this show so cringe. Theology, church history, nuns living in a convent—she’s got it all figured out & confidently states “that’s not what Jesus wants us to do”. 🙄
-
Crd5qLove, except for occasional Protestant nonsenseShaye literally thinks she’s holier than a Catholic sainted nun. I’m not even Catholic and this aspect of the show irritates me so much! But she looooves Italian culture 🙄Except when it’s, “ew, Catholicism.” Poser. Please let Angela talk more… I can’t hear the words “pocket” or “posture” or “vein” one more time. Angela is classy (without shying away from controversy! She’s a spitfire in her own way but so much more articulate.)
-
natalieeschultzBring back themes!I have listened to every episode, and I love both Shaye and Angela. I do feel like the last couple of seasons have been too loosely structured, however. I like listening to podcasts with a clear focus, and the freestyle episodes are just too all over the place to really present any solid takeaways. Sometimes the background noise is too loud, as well. I think if the next season is super intentional, they’ll bring back their original audience who has been teetering on whether or not to keep listening.
-
laura anne w/ an eWholesome.Just two friends chatting about life. They deal with the same things I do 😄. On top of dishes and laundry and then 24 hrs later snowed under with it all 😅. Thank you! You make dishes and laundry folding quick and painless. Plus I’m inspired to keep managing my home better and better.

famlee5Losing InterestI really loved this podcast when I first started listening, even if I disagree with most of their health and wellness opinions. Even as an older woman with grown children, I am regularly challenged to do the hard work of making and keeping a home. What is frustrating to me is that for the many paid sponsors they have, the quality of the show just doesn’t seem to match the level of support. They are (lately) unprepared. Asking patrons pay to watch two friends on a video call and yet not have your act together is off putting. (I listen to several higher quality podcasts and none of them make listeners pay to watch the YouTube version of the podcast, so that’s a bit odd to me) I don’t mind the conversational style of the show, but the constant interruptions and lack of preparation are frustrating, not to mention the way they try to moralize their personal choices. It’s not morally superior to buy expensive food. Part of good homemaking is working within the confines of what your personal budget can sustain. You can prepare wholesome meals for your family using conventionally grown/raised food. I’m afraid I’m reaching the end of my tolerance for this podcast, and that makes me sad, because I could really see the value in it in the earlier episodes. This is the first negative review I’ve ever left for a podcast.
-
jennr1384An honor to listen to!As a self described “podcast junkie” … I have NEVER binge listened a podcast with such enjoyment and vigor in my life. I am in LOVE with these ladies, their friendship, their dedication to their families and their GRIT - all while being warm, comforting and real women. I cannot recommend this podcast more!
-
SM1005No new ideas latelyIf I have to hear Shay say “heart posture” one more time I might throw up. I used to love this show but Shay’s tone is so off putting.
-
Clay MilnesI’m not alone.Thank you Shay and Angela for being right there beside me in the trenches. I live over 1000 miles away from my family so I heavily rely on your support as I go about motherhood and home making. Thank you for the laughter, tears, inspiration, and simple realism.
-
tchch9UpdatedI still want to love it, but compared to the older seasons, it’s just not what it used to be. My teacher brain makes me want to ask, “Is this your best work?” because both ladies’ talents and knowledge just aren’t showcased like they used to be. The episodes are unprepared and disjointed rather than having the thoughtfulness, great ideas, and challenges of ‘20-‘21. I continue to listen, because there are good nuggets, but wish there was a bit more forethought and acknowledgement that it isn’t just a phone call.
-
brontë_kasInspirationI love this podcast! I often wait to listen until I’m doing a house project that isn’t my favorite—Shaye and Angela remind me why the mundane matters and inspire my homemaking endeavors. Thanks, ladies! Keep it up!
-
Bunnykins02Not what it used to be…I used to really enjoy this podcast, and get so much inspiration and encouragement from it. Sadly, it’s really gone off the rails. Shaye and Angela spend so much of their time judging and complaining and really seem to be phoning it in with even being able to stay on topic.

DoIGetToCallMyselfAWomanIt’s the Judgement for MeI started listening after leaving my job to stay home with my first child. I’ve watched the Elliott Homestead on YouTube for years. I was very interested in what Shaye and Angela had to share about the art of homemaking and appreciated their message about the value of this important role and taking your job seriously. I’ve started “choosing my hard” which means getting up earlier and looking put together. I’m more productive and generally more cheerful about this role that has a lot of repetition and butt wiping. I’ve listened to more than half the episodes while doing chores around the house, but I’m unsubscribing. They have some good tips but it’s getting harder to “spit out the bones” as Shaye says. They’re not afraid of getting canceled because they know their audience: -white -homeschooling -Christian -anti-vaxxers/science deniers -conservative -libertarian -conservative These conversations are not inclusive of BIPOC people, members of the LGBTQ community, people who are poor, or people who are fat (heaven forbid!).

DrumrphilFor Husbands…As a husband, this podcast has re-birthed my marriage. No exaggeration. Having listened for 2 years, I’m a better father to our 3 children & I understand my wife better than I have during our decade+ of marriage. These beautiful women have also been a source of inspiration to me personally. I’d been far too fixated on the “macro” things of this world… realizing now that true satisfaction is found within our home, doing the routine tasks, cooking alongside my wife, homeschooling our children together, reestablishing our faith together as a family, etc. Dear wives, I urge you to listen to Homemaker Chic without your earbuds… you may be surprised by the responses of your husbands, should they listen-in. Thank you Shay & Angela:)

StaceyMarxUse to love itI’ve been listening and following them since the beginning and loved them. Lately I’ve found myself offended on several occasions including the comments about vegans. I’m a Christian vegan of 23 years (and yes that’s ok… Romans 14:3) and I’ll put my physical condition and lab results up against theirs any day. I’m a RN and homeopathic nutritionist. Yes! Vegans not only can live more than 20 years ladies, they thrive! I’m not deficient in protein or any other nutrients. Zero health issues, lots of energy, not on any prescriptions and I’m in my 50’s. So please, stop being so judgmental about people who don’t eat the way you do or do _____ (whatever) as you do. You come across as know-it-alls and maybe, just maybe, you don’t.
-
ErynWhalenLove these ladies!I have been an avid listener since day, one and still now, look forward to their episodes weekly. I enjoy the friendly banter, troubleshooting common household problems, and keeping it real with the day to day momming/Homestead life. I also feel deeply encouraged and excited when the episode is over, ready to go out and be present for my family and this life we are building.

CMS78!Used to be wonderful!Like others have mentioned, this show used to be amazing! I can appreciate the lack of filter with sharing perspectives and ideas, I don’t think people should censor themselves by any means and this is their show after all! My concern is that the opinions often seem to be a slip of the mask. As a believer, I can appreciate the faith conversations they tackle whether I agree or not. My worry, as others have mentioned is how often they talk negatively about other people and experiences. Angela seems to be incredibly judgmental of most people- the check out cashier asking if she has a loyalty card, people dressed to attend a concert, bathing suits people wear, the sound of refrigerators, and comments constantly on how other people inconvenience her. How is this Christ-like? I’m an opinionated lady too but this goes far beyond personal preferences and is often harsh and demeaning. It’s honestly really hard to listen to! I don’t think they mean to come across like this, but it is not a good look. Really hoping they can get a little more organized and prepared to share the content they are so equipped to share instead of complaining so much.
-
Kellios85LOVEAs a working mom, this podcast has really encouraged me to do my best with the season I’m in. There’s no sugar coating anything either- these ladies are honest about homemaking and serving your family - it’s hard work. I feel like they’re just normal gals trying to figure it all out like the rest of us are. Yes - they have opinions, and they throw them out there. I love it!! Keep it up!!!
-
Bball starLOVE show. Hate wine segments hahaThis is my favorite show of all. It’s funny but always has good ideas and conversation I do get really tired of the wine segments. If they have a season sponsor, who is not dry farm wines, why must we always hear 15 minutes of dry farm winds information every episode
-
CJOrlowGenerally like it!I love this podcast immensely, however I have one critique. I am a practicing Catholic and there have been several times where the hosts briefly discuss information about Catholicism incorrectly. It’s not an issue to discuss religion by any means… but please don’t say things that aren’t true about it other religions. Otherwise, it’s motivating to me in my current state of life of being a stay at home Mom!
-
ETownleyFood for the mind, soul, and bellyThis podcast has been just the boost I needed this year to help me not fall into a homemaking slump. It’s challenged me to take on the day with a heart full of gratitude for all I’ve been given and use that to bless my family and whoever comes into my home. I’m truly thankful for your work Shaye and Ang. God bless you.
-
MagentawebLove listening to these ladies!I have no idea how I stumbled upon this podcast but I love that I did. The friendly banter, life advice, guidance, and tips of these lovely ladies truly delights my soul and inspires me to do better. Better as a homemaker. Better as a wife and mother. Better gardener. These are two beautiful souls that I am so happy to listen to every week. ❤️

lod4189Eh, not as good anymoreUpdate: lost interest during season 15 and feel the same about 16. No real takeaways, way too much time spent on ads among additional frustrations that other reviews have mentioned. Earlier years’ episodes are better. At times some of the topics and conversations seem repetitive. (Same message, just worded different.) Otherwise, it’s an easy podcast to listen to with light banter between friends.
-
JenH313Podcast took a nosediveThis podcast started great, entertaining, informative, now it’s two whining housewives complaining about how tough their lives are while they spend 30-40% of the entire show pitching products from sponsors the majority of their audience would never be able to afford. I truly found value in the first few seasons, good takeaways, mixed with friendly banter. The content has gone downhill quickly. They are judgmental to half their listeners every episode, criticizing everyone who doesn’t do things the way they do or make the choices they make. They are condescending and rude and seem to be themselves bored with their own podcast, struggling to make new content so they can sell wine and bed linens each week. I’m done with this podcast.
-
ThreeletterlostA true treat every week.I’m constantly refreshing my podcast app on Mondays and Tuesdays hoping that the new episode has dropped. You ladies are such a bright spot in my podcast feed. Keep it up!
-
ThegivingofthanksdailyHands down my favorite podcast!I can’t wait to listen to their new show every week! They tell it like it is with much honesty and laughter!
-
mariecwmWant to love it.Edit: officially done listening this season. The podcast is such a great concept but has turned into something so poorly executed, so negative, so hard to listen to. Shaye and Angela seem more like frenemies than friends these days and both seem to have lost sight of why they started in the first place. Hopefully they will take reviews to heart and make some changes, but for now I am out! I want to love it so bad…I love Shaye and am so inspired by her. I feel like she has a lot of wisdom to share and is a very thoughtful speaker (also hilarious). But lately Angela has seemed to have such a bitter attitude towards so many things, not a lot to contribute (in terms of answering listener questions, seems like she always defers to Shaye or just doesn’t really answer…or is very snarky). I’ve been a listener since day one, but I just don’t find the same enjoyment anymore. Which pains me because I love Shaye haha. Will keep listening for now, but starting to feel disenchanted sadly.
-
HBN18Buckle in for all of the ads…Update: They really are just phoning it in these days. Never prepared, waaaay too many ads, and Angela especially doesn’t seem to even want to be there anymore. I think it’s just a money-maker at this point for both. Free perks and a vehicle to pitch their personal wares. It used to be a great podcast, so if you’re looking for inspiration listen back to the 2020-2021 episodes. Current content is just, meh. Shame. Let me start by saving this is a fabulous podcast. Shaye and Angela are charming and knowledgeable. There’s a lot to be had here. HOWEVER, a third of each episode is taken up by ads for their sponsors. Yes, I know this is a business and they deserve to be compensated for their content. But, 30 minutes of each 90 minute episode is dedicated to it. Its leaving a poor taste ever since they went from 2 episodes a week to one. Maybe they should consider making it two hours an episode so they can shill for their advertisers and still put out beefy content. I’ve been listening since day one and the last several months have been lacking honestly. Based on other reviews, it seems like I’m not the only one feeling this way. I’m torn because I really do like this show, but it’s getting a bit tedious to be constantly “pitched” to.
-
MlwjamUnsubscribingMiss the prepared content, freestyle episodes are not my cup of tea. I love this podcast & have been listening since the early days. I plan to check out season 16 but, in all honesty, season 15 was my least favorite. I liked the theme but did not feel that many of the episodes actually tied in with the theme/episode title. Love the gf chats occasionally but would not listen if every episode was one of those & that’s the feeling I got from season 15. I love the signature moves & motivation to step up our homemaking game, etc. - wish there was more of that & not so much random conversation unless it is specially a chat episode. Hoping season 16 is more like former seasons!
-
NolllllssssY’all are my people! This podcast always brings a big smile to my face and lots of laughter! Thanks for all the real life stories of day to day life and all that goes into running a home, homemaking, homesteading, friendships, family, and personal struggles. I look forward to it every week!
