    Best way to fall asleep
This podcast has amazing stories to help me fall asleep. Love listening to them every night. I wake up multiple times a night and continue the stories where I left off. They are interesting and engaging yet soothing enough to let me drift off.

    So soothing & helpful
I love this show so much - it really helps me to let go of the day’s thoughts & anxiety and move comfortably into relaxed space and drift off….. thanks

Ads at the end wake me up again
I used to love this podcast but they’ve added so many ads recently. Like, retroactively added them to all the episodes. I don’t mind ads at the beginning (gotta make money off us non-subscribers somehow, I get it), but putting an ad at the end of a sleep podcast is just mean. Thanks for waking me up again. Unfollow.

    Love the Stories; Tweak Delivery
Love it, but Andrew’s delivery sounds forced. He ends every sentence with a huff of air that is distracting. If this was eliminated, it would be perfect.

    Andrew Is The Best
His delivery brings all of the characters to life—it is perfection. I will have to keep playing the Emily books, they are wonderful.

    Helpful!
My brain is now trained to relax once Andrew begins reading. I look forward to hearing the stories. The Emily series is my favorite.

    Background soundscape is too loud.
It would be helpful if user could turn it off or at least lower the volume.

    This really helps
I have enjoyed all the books so far except one about Greece …or something. I did find the voice quite staccato for a bit but it seems to have softened to a degree. I DO NOT LIKE THE NEWER BACKGROUND ‘MUSIC’…it is too closely looped and actually stirs up my brain. I’ve resorted to voice only, but I really liked the old background sound which seemed to contribute well to my dozing off. Please change it I beg of you!

Do each book as a season! 👎
I won’t even try listening because its so difficult to even find out which books were even read because of how they set it up. Please fix this as it seems like an interesting premise.

    Great stories, well read
Loved the Emily books, can’t wait for the last of the series. Thoroughly loving North and South. Only recently found this so have lots of books to still listen to. Many thanks Andrew.

Please drop more episodes of Secret Garden

    Very Relaxing
I have insomnia, and I’ve listened to a lot of sleep inducing podcasts. This (and only one other podcast) is the best of all I’ve tried. My favorite of Andrew’s readings is Emily of New Moon. Also, thank you for presenting the story episodes in daily order.

A Voice To Ease Me To Sleep
I’ve listened to many sleep podcasts, and Andrew is able to soothe my mind gently, and then to read, thankfully without being monotone, and keep it interesting but soothing. I’ve yet to be awake at the endings. I enjoy his format and highly recommend this!

    Nice but lose the accents
I would love this podcast if it weren’t for the fact that the reader uses different accents and voices for different people. There is no need for the different voices, as people who follow the story can tell who is speaking from the context. His “French” accent for Hercule Poirot is so awful that I can’t even listen to it. It is truly bizarre and distracting. And I say this as someone who loves Agatha Christie and could not wait to have one of her books read on the show.

    Me new fav
A great voice to lull me to sleep and to calm my racing thoughts.
  • PrincessSnick
Stories read and played in order
Thank you for doing this! This makes all the difference for your faithful listeners. I will share the news with others!
  • charatza
    Excellent choice of literature.
So glad the series is read in order. Good thinking. Head and shoulders above those teasers who jump around in their readings.

Finally, a podcast that helps me sleep!
Most nights I sleep well, but there are some nights when I’m restless, with random thoughts running through my head. This podcast has been a marvel. I just plug my phone into a charger, using a long cord, and put the phone under my pillow. I’m asleep in no time! It doesn’t matter what the reading is;it sends me off to sleep, and I’m able to stay asleep.
  • Odd robot voice
    Odd robot voice
It’s too bad, this podcast has a good idea but poor execution. The voice is so odd and so clearly a fake “robot” doing it. Any reviewer who praises the voice is probably a fake review.

    Soothing
Andrew has a great ability to calm and lull you to sleep. I just wish he would read the entire book instead of jumping to another. Nevertheless I find this as the best podcast to send me to sleep! Thank you so much!

    The Importance of correct Pronunciation
(First, I agree that the time lapse between stories or chapters is too long. I’d rather follow one or two through to the end.) The narrator’s voice is slow, calm and pleasant. However as a suggestion, there is a need to pronounce foreign words correctly in these stories. In Heidi I noticed difficulties with titles and surnames. This has an affect on the story being read. Another word is the word B U T which is pronounced bt or bit. And each exclamation of “Oh!” is read exactly the same. I doubt that every Oh is s curious one or a questioning one, as opposed to a startled one, a frightened one, or a shocking one. Thank you for all of your efforts, Andrew. In general, you do accomplish your goal. In Emily, her friend’s name is written Ilse pronounced Ill seh or ill sa. It was pronounced as Isla (isle la). According to the dictionary the correct pronunciation for Ilse is ill sa, or I’ll-s. Isla is a completely different name.

    Just what I hoping for!
I’ve tried many podcasts and this one is just serene and calming. So happy I found it. Thank you for the better sleep!
  • cora_the_explorer
I love it, but a few suggestions
I love Andrew’s voice. It’s very soothing and relaxing. I do wish that the podcast was structured in a way that one book was read at a time or that episodes could be arranged by book in proper chapter order. Also, a quick recap of the previous chapters/episode for each book would be lovely at the beginning of each episode would be lovely. Essentially, a similar structure to The Sleepy Bookshelf.

    Order
I really enjoy the app but the chapters out or order is frustrating, not a great way to settle into sleep.

    Saved me
So many lost nights before I found this show. I cannot recommend more atrongly.

    I love this podcast
Tough crowd, I suspect most of these reviews saying the voice sounds creepy and robotic are from kids. I’m grateful for this podcast. I love his voice and the content. Continue doing such a great job and allowing me to get to sleep. Zzzz
  • Chuckles36
    Great stories
I listen to this podcast almost every night. I love his voice, I love all the stories, and it really helps quiet my mind as I drift off to sleep.
  • JLSDenver
    Enjoyable stories
I think the voice is great, very relaxing and calming. I like that he reads slow enough to really hear what is being said. Good selection of books. Like many other reviewers, I do wish that the chapters were released together. It’s difficult to sort through and find what you need to listen to next.

    The best sleep podcast!
I love all the stories and as someone who has insomnia and PTSD nightmares this is truly a blessing. Don’t ever stop doing this podcast!

    Unique reading style
I really enjoy the current reading style, which is different from the show’s previous style when the show was just starting and also unique from audio books. The stories are also good, especially Sherlock Holmes, Greek stories, and Emma of New Moon.
  • rare reviewer 101789
    Excellent
Excellent execution of a sleep podcast. Good voice work, and no 10-15 min advertisement preamble.

    Incredibly peaceful
Listening to this, I fall asleep so quickly! I actually have even been sleeping more solid all night, with dreams finding me! I haven’t slept so well since I was an exhausted new mama decades ago. I only have 2 complaints, but they aren’t bad enough to lower my rating. 1, I dislike that the same story isn’t published back to back. Makes it a challenge to listen through one story in a night. I have to hunt and ‘save’ the ones for one story to listen together. 2, the way he mispronounces Daaé in Phantom of the Opera. He says ‘Day’. It is properly pronounced ‘Die-ay’ or ‘Dah-ay’. Please research how to properly pronounce unique words such as this as hearing it incorrectly can pull a person who knows the correct way, out of their peaceful falling asleep zone.

    Nice voice
I love his voice, it’s unique and sleepy. It’s even tempered enough that it’s never jarring. And he’s prolific! Keep it up, my man, and ignore the petulant little reviewers.

    The only way I’ll sleep
I’m always asleep within the first 5 minutes. Sometimes I want to hear the stories. But never last 😂

  • Heatherblackfeather
    Really works!
Soothing voice. The stories are just interesting enough to keep your attention but not exciting at all so that your mind can follow along and then you fall asleep. I never hear the whole episode. Thank you Andrew!

Good. Sterile but terrible audio voice, unfortunately the pacing, tonality, cadence of emphasis are pretty off. Distracting.
