All Genres #172True Crime #39

Rotten but still a little sweet! Rotten Mango is a true crime + all things spooky podcast. We love doing deep dives into the darkest crimes and we tend to not leave out any details - which can get a little rotten at times. If you want deep dives in the psychology of killers, no holding back storytelling of crimes, and stories of lesser known criminals from around the world this is the place for you.

    Soo amazing!
My friend introduced me to Stephanie a year ago and I was immediately hooked! Her ability to recount these tragic events with such clarity and respect is beautiful. I adore how kind she is toward these victims and able to deliver these details—no matter how gruesome—in a way that is thoughtful, empathetic, and neutral with enough emotion to understand and *feel* how heavy some of these topics are. Her level of detail is staggering, and she shares everything neutrally without choosing sides. Her disclaimers at the beginnings of episodes that are extremely heavy are always so kind. She is easily one of my favorites to both listen to as well as watch on YouTube when the videos are uploaded. Her expressions and the way she speaks isn’t too slow or too fast, she doesn’t make out with her microphone, and I love that the way it’s set up is that she’s telling these stories to her then fiancé and now husband. Her insights are well-thought. I recommend her plus her other channels as well! Thank you, Stephanie for the content! 🥰❤️

    Rotten Mango
I’m relatively new to podcasts, I’ve been listening for about 16 months. I have a vast library. Listening to shows that are in a sense repetitive in nature I found myself burning out. Then along came Rotten Mango’s. Your show is fabulous, whatever awards they give out for Podcasting. My vote goes to you, enjoy your “Golden Microphone” and thank you!

    Get to the facts
I love Stephanie but lately there’s been a lot of inclusion from random neticizens?? I just want to hear the facts, not hear some randos from Reddit.

    Wonderful telling
There are so many things to love about this podcast! One, I really appreciate the warnings in the beginning of the episode giving you an idea of what the episode is going to be about. Two, the way she tells the story is amazing, I almost cried during the Joker mass murder case. I also appreciate how if she takes a week or two off, the next week you’ll have at least 2-3 new episodes to listen to with a few days, though, I do wish she would update B.A.M. just a little more. I also really enjoy her other podcast, Moral Of the Story. This is really such a great podcast!

    Rotten Mango mega fan
My daughter turned me on to Rotten Mango. I am so glad she did. Stephanie is extremely well spoken. Her research is outstanding. Well rounded in her presentation and quite a story teller. I recommend this podcast to everyone I know. Veronica

    UHC CEO - update
Making this person a sympathetic character with unvetted stories is a gross attempt to gain followers without verification. You are acting without any accountability. You are clearly trying to be an activist reporter rather than a podcaster. Be careful of the information you put out there. You are part of the reason insurance employees are requesting security.

    Loves it
I absolutely love how Stephanie tells every story, her voice, how witty she talks about every detail and how she incorporates different stories that correlate with the actual story is very mind stimulating. Even the ads are entertaining and every product offer is more interesting than the next. Everything about this podcast is good. Loves it!!!!

    Miss the old stories
Was my favorite pod but lately everything feels like an attempt to get more listeners, too many recent cases with no real information. I miss the “but there’s a really great book on this” days

    Fav but so much ads!):
I love this pod & been listening for years. I love how it’s stories outside the US and dif cultures rather than the popular US ones. But the ads are so long and they seem to be getting longer as every episode comes out/: like I get the bag but they’re so excessive idk if it’s just me

Ok show but lectures her listeners
She is a good story teller but it’s always a little lecture in every show about diversity or minorities or how bad men are or how they treat women. This is like the politics of the view telling stories and interjecting their crazy world view which is odd that telling stories has made her a millionaire who dates an asian also but lecturing us on diversity and how bad America is to everyone.

    Best podcast.
While going through depression, this podcast 100% always made it seem like all the horrible stuff in my life faded away. Each episode is so intriguing and captures your attention, I would recommend this to any true crime fan 👍

Heyyyy Stephanie 😊 I hope you’re doing okay. We need more episodes, but I understand you have other obligations and responsibilities… so until then, I’m going to re-listen the older episodes.

    Great stories but…
I love listening to this podcast because of Stephanie, and the stories are just interesting, but there are some audio issues and a bit of amateur-ness to them. The podcast I was just listening to ended in the middle of the sentence… There have also been a few inaccuracies that make me question how truthful these are. In a podcast that talked about a girl getting arrested for having cannabis in Illinois, Stephanie was asked if marijuana was illegal in Illinois. She said “yes, it was illegal,” which was not correct. Illinois legalized marijuana and it was legal at the time this case took place. In another episode, she says the speed limit in the midwest was 85. Not true - Kansas is 75 and everywhere else is 70. No speed limit greater than 75. While these two things are small details, they are very Googlable things and since they are wrong, I question the validity of other things.

    :>
I listen to this all the time. It doesn’t matter what in the world is going on I’m always listening to them, and it just is amazing. It truly show how sick people can be, and how cruel the world is, that is what makes it so fascinating.
  • ihaveapwtchicken
    Wow
Amazing true crime podcast longer episodes but the deep dive is worth it
  • strawberriesmeanluv
    Quality drop..
Recent episodes have been lacking in quality and clarity in the content, the update schedule has been irregular for a while now, and a lot of cases don’t quite flow the same compared to their visual counterpart on youtube. Also. Jordan Peterson ads? Better Help?
  • queer4jesus
    .75 speed
I lurrrrrrrrv listening to Stephanie on 3/4 speed bc it makes the episodes last a little longer and it makes her sound like a drunk valley girl. So glad to have found this podcast bc she researches stories so freakin well!

    The screaming in the mic
My gosh the newest episode was so hard to follow sometimes like I’m confused on what the guy who says he is from the future had to do with the case at all??? And then the screaming into the mic like sis I get the point but don’t scream in the mic for a full 30 seconds

    This is literally the best
I cannot express how much I love Stephenie’s voice, she’s a born storyteller. And I like true crime as well. So it’s a win win.

    FACT
I am subscribed to 58 true crime podcasts and this is my #1 favorite. Discovered Rotten Mango about 3 years ago and firmly declare that Stephanie Soo & Husband blow Ashley & Brit, Georgia & Karen, Alexis & Jac, Nancy Grace, et al. OUT OF THE WATER. Lifetime fan 👌👌

    I LOVE her story telling!
This host really has a way of giving you digestible information about a case. I love the diversity of topics and locations, so I know I won’t be tuning into the same stories I’ve heard over and over. I like that she isn’t shy to explain something if it’s pertinent to the story.

    Best True-Crime Podcast EVER!
This is by far the best true-crime podcast that I've ever listened to! My best friend recommended it to me, and now I recommend it to all of my other friends and family. Stephanie tells every single story so clearly and makes them easy to follow. Her speaking speed is also perfect (and the only podcast, so far, that I don't have to speed up). Stephanie and her fiancé always add jokes that perfectly match my humor, as well! I binge this podcast constantly and I absolutely love it! I also REALLY enjoy her deep dives!

    Amazing! But…
I’ve been listening to Stephanie since 2020 and I love her…but I’m really not sure why she’s bringing up political stances in her ads when I’m listening to her podcast to ESCAPE politics….i don’t wanna hear about Gaza when I’m trying to relax…sorry..?

    The selective verbiage
I downloaded to listen to the Diddy shows. It is practically unlistenable with the constant selective outrage, as Chris Rock would say. she will say the word rape, but not one time will ever say sexual assault. It is always SA. she will also say the F word B word D word, but spell the word thug when quoting someone. It’s unbearable. Oh, also will say sexual abuse! But not assault. The pain.
  • Rabidcrocheter
    I love these :D
I haven’t been listening for too long yet but I really like this podcast :) I’ve been listening to these while crocheting and they’re really great because they are long and aren’t distracting enough to actually stop me from crocheting so I can focus on both !!

Love the show- love the couple BUT…
So while I would never give this show or podcaster anything less than a 5-star review because she’s absolutely one of my top favorites; along with the convo/dynamic between the couple, the details, the format, the depth, the writing-just EVERYTHING! I WOULD give the episode “Daisy’s Destruction” ZERO stars. I remember this coming out in the news & the absolute disgust & devastation the whole world felt learning about this poor baby’s short, miserable life- &When I was scrolling back to the beginning of the podcast episodes and saw that it was covered I was so excited (wrong wordage here, but hopefully you know what I mean) To listen to an intelligent deep dive of the story – I was so beyond disappointed that it was done so light heartedly, with so much giggling & zero empathy. Please forgive me if I sound too judgmental, but this is my only issue I have ever had with the entire podcast series. I wish it could be redone, to be honest, with a little more care & sympathy- the way this baby deserves for her story to be told.

    AMAZINGG
Her story telling really brings such humanity and realness to the victims and cases. The amount of adds some times is a bit annoying but the amazing quality of the podcast makes up for it.
