Spencer and Andrew have a compelling way of going inside the race with keen observation that draws on their respective racing experiences and dedication to the sport. These guys know their stuff but are not know it alls, and their sense of humor and give and take make for great listening that entertains and enlightens.

Delighted to have stumbled on this pod. Great sense of the whole gestalt of the peloton and appreciation of the humanity of all the people involved with the races, with just enough goofiness to make me eager to hear what's rattling around in the minds of the podcasters.

Great flowing conversation that is constantly relevant and substantive. One of the better cycling pods, especially on Tour discussions.

Climate change is a little more important than the Tour de France, don’t go all Wiggo and deny it. If I bought a gun for someone that they then used to murder an innocent young person, due to my involvement with them: I would seriously consider offing myself. This makes me question the entire morality of the cycling world, is it that cut throat?

And I appreciate they’re not too afraid to broach the doping topic.

Great conversation between two smart guys. They don’t seem jaded / bored like some of the other cycling podcast hosts. Instead of talking exclusively about the local grapes on the TdF, they focus on the races, teams and racers. I’ve listened to a lot of Tour focused podcasts, and this is my favorite.

Spencer is difficult to get a hold of. Podcast is ok and would like to provide feedback but he makes it difficult. Last podcast was awful. Hoping it gets better.

I listen to a ton of podcasts and love the tour. This one is great, can’t believe he does it by himself.

There are only so many cycling podcasts so in gaps like before the Tour I listen to some episodes. It’s hard to take him seriously though. He’s mispronounced Wout Van Aerts name for 2 years now. It’s Wout as in out, not Woot like hoot. He’s the most talked about rider in the peloton, if you’re watching the races you’ll hear it correctly pronounced 100 times a race. And Richie Ports form isn’t that good, even though he won the race, because Padun won the stage. Padun didn’t matter, he was so far back Richie could ignore him. Plus, he’d spent the first 6 days on a sight seeing Tour while Port was going all out every single stage. But the worse part was you immediately talked about how Padun could be doping. What? It’s crazy people pay for this insight.

Incisive, deep analysis of pro bike racing strategies, tactics and finances. A must listen for serious fans of the sport.

Beyond the Peloton always surprises me by looking at professional cycling in new ways. Yeah, his race recaps always include those details that are very interesting, yet easily missed by other news sources. But the real treat is his way of looking at race tactics, team strategy, and the long road. For anyone interested in bike racing, this is worth a listen.

Insightful, well-researched, a great mix of recaps and previews. This is the podcast I didn't know I was missing. It's the podcast cycling deserves.

Beyond the Peloton takes a thoughtful and nuanced approach in this new podcast, which is a pleasure to listen to. He breaks down a complex sport and introduces perspectives that aren’t often discussed in detail, let alone with the great context provided in Beyond the Peloton. This is a must subscribe for any cyclist or cycling fan.

Spencer Martin is incredible! Always such a nuanced, thorough view of an incredible sport. One episode in, and I’m hooked! Highly recommend if you’re into cycling, or just curious about the cycling world/community.
