I’ve been a long time listener to the podcast and newsletter subscriber. I was surprised when I saw I hadn’t rated this yet. Needless to say, it’s five stars. Aaron Renn brings a calm yet different perspective than you often hear. He also brings a wide variety of guests to interview on a range of topics. It’s worth listening to a few episodes. After you do, I imagine you’ll find a new show to add to your playlist.

I listened to about the first 6 months of his podcasts. At that point, I felt like I was wasting my time. I also wondered, why is this guy so guarded about telling us his opinions? I know many factual things about his life - from Indiana, moved to Chicago and NYC, went to Keller’s church, was a consultant, worked at think tanks MI and AEI, moved back to Indiana, etc. But I know very little about his opinions. He may think that it’s important so people don’t reject his ideas based on biases against his other positions , but I can’t trust a person who hides what they think. And I can’t invest a lot of time listening to a person whose judgment I don’t trust. I was on the fence about this podcast until I listened to the interview of his friend Alexandria on civility. That is not worth anyone’s time.

I really like Renn. He’s attuned to the question of many Christian men: - What attracts me to Jordan Peterson that I find lacking in Bible-first churches? - What can we learn from General Revelation that we aren’t hearing during the Sunday morning exposition of Special Revelation? Thankfully, there is a growing number of insightful godly voices, who are talking about challenges and solutions for modern Christian men. Renn’s analysis is as keen as any, and his urban, city-loving perspective a helpful balance for the 80% of us who aren’t able or ready to move to Moscow ID. Thank you Aaron!!! I’m glad so glad to see Aaron Renn finally give us some of this amazing material that he has put in written form for so long; I can’t wait to hear about some of the potential speakers that he would bring along to help us explore what it means to be a man and a Christian in the 21st-century. I hope he gets people like Doug Wilson, Dalrock,Jordan Peterson and potentially someday Joe Rogan to come on his show.

You don’t have to agree with everything Aaron says for the podcast to be an eye-opening help. Thought provoking and challenging for conservatives and leftists alike. Great insight into the day-today thought processes of American elites. Wise perspectives on intergenerational church life in America. I have thoroughly enjoyed this podcast—a hidden gem.

I only recently discovered Aaron after a piece in Chronicles magazine cited his work. After listening to a handful of episodes, I was hooked. He brings a brave and brutally honest perspective and challenges deep-seated axiomatic inconsistencies - in a constructive manner - that no one else seems willing to touch. When I listened to the episode on “The Cultural Contradictions of Conservative Values”, I was stunned as I have been voicing the same frustration almost verbatim. True Conservatism values beauty, the natural environment, tranquility (and yes, even the laws/ordinances meant to preserve it at a local level), and tradition. Some fellow republicans seem to conflate conservatism with libertarianism or even anarchy, which degrades the quality of life for all in a given community.

The interview with Arthur Kwon Lee, using aesthetics as starting point, has to be unique. As an old lit major, I found it refreshing and inspiring. There’s so much bad news breathing down our necks these days that a positive input like this one is received with unmixed gratitude.

I don’t really like podcasts but…Aaron has the ability to talk about a subject that you might not think is important and make you see how it is and why you should care about what he’s talking about. He makes you think with his original insights. If you only have time for one podcast, this should be the one.

If I could only listen to one podcast, this would be it. Aaron approaches a variety of subjects in a deep, thoughtful and context-driven way, poking holes in commonly held “ways of doing things” without being needlessly provocative or branding himself as an eternal critic. If you are looking for insightful advice and commentary on living life in the post-Christian USA, this is your podcast.

Aaron continues to consistently provide excellent content. He refuses to be pigeonholed, and doesn’t let his listeners off the hook for our own potential blind spots. Give him a listen!

Listening to Aaron Renn never leaves my current thinking unchallenged. At the same time he manages not to fall for liberal thinking because his presuppositions are anchored in the reality of God's world and in God's Word. This is a highly refreshing combination. I highly recommend this podcast to any Christian man. But really, anyone else will gain insight from him too.

Great podcast with lots of great critiques and ideas. It has challenged some of my thinking and also been informative on the topics discussed.

You may not always agree with Aaron, though I find I often do, but he talks about real topics important to evangelicals today. Aaron is smart, has good insights, is well read, and informs his listeners about important topics.

I wish Aaron would punch harder sometimes but that doesn’t mean he isn’t producing some very helpful and insightful content.

I have sent this podcast as a suggestion to people of both genders and various ages. In spite of the name, Aaron’s observations and insights are interesting and applicable for everyone. Although he is nominally conservative, he does a great job considering topics from both directions and portraying the devil’s advocate view to help us to get a more complete picture of what is happening in our world.

Well informed cultural analysis from a conservative perspective. Aaron’s work is always top drawer. Highly recommended.

This is a great source of insight about the current times in which we live. It is material that you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere. I listen to be informed. I am also challenged in some preconceived notions. But most of all it’s like a long conversation with a well-read friend.

I gave the podcast 5 stars. Renn provides thoughtful cultural analysis for conservative Christians. I began from the beginning and am making my way through. Generally solid content. I recommended the show to a friend. Since he’s in classical ed, I recommended the episode on classical ed before having listened to it myself. Unfortunately, it was the worst episode I’ve heard yet. Not a good primer on the show. It took 16 mins of evangelical church gossip (“so and so was caught plagiarizing sermons”) for Renn to actually begin discussing classical ed, and then the episode wasn’t really about classical ed. It was just 4 random points, 3 of which he had very little to say, the 4th of which was about the power of mass media. Clickbait title. My friend’s comment to me: “this guy’s full of hot air.” Listening to that episode alone, I’d agree. Tighten it up, Renn. Latest episode on race was excellent, and most have been very good.

Never boring, always biblically faithful, and totally I’m afraid to slay sacred evangelical cows or have controversial conversation that the church needs to have. Totally recommend the Masculinist to any seriously minded Christian!

Aaron Renn provides interesting analysis of the trends within Christianity in America with a focus on “Reformed” churches in cities. He also gives helpful and much needed commentary to men in the church.

I love your podcast. Keep it up. I agree with the listener who told you you needed Outro music. The stuff you’re using is too long. Shorten it by 2/3. If that’s my biggest complaint, you’re pretty good.

Aaron Renn puts in serious effort to learn about important issues and introduce the audience to things you won’t hear anywhere else.

Five Stars More people should listen. Many things puzzle me. Some things puzzle me less after listening to Renn.

The topics on Aaron’s podcast are varied and intriguing. The listener will learn much about the inter-play of industrialism, mass media, and religious faith. He’s knowledgeable and authentic. Check out his Masculinist website also. Better yet, support him with your own review and fund him if you can.

The issues Renn explores are never explored in the modern Protestant church and are sorely missing. It kind of feels like he’s the only non-Catholic forwarding any sort of masculine agenda anymore. Highly recommend.

Renn does his homework, and his voracious appetite for data and perspective comes through in every episode.

I knew a guy who shared a video clip of How the Church Fails Men with his pastor in good faith. The pastor got triggered and defensive. He called for a meeting with the guy to discuss his spiritual growth. Coincidentally, his church is about 90% female.

Aaron has his finger on the pulse of key Church and social issues. He obviously does his homework and is thoroughly read on the issues he speaks about. I enjoy listening and benefit every time I do.

Aaron has a great feel for topics of the highest relevance for Christian men living in Western Civ today. I look forward to this podcast more than any of the many I subscribe to. Aaron's fact-based reportage and prudent commentary is a must-listen for anyone seeking deep understanding of the root causes of our present crisis. Subscribe, support, and above all, listen!

Aaron is wise and exceptionally well read. He does a phenomenal job distilling things into consumable bits that my brain can handle. God Bless You Aaron!

Aaron gets you with an idea you wish you had had, then brings to bear arguments from multiple disciplines that you never would have thought of. And he does it in about 20 minutes each time. I strongly recommend.

Aaron always has a great depth of understanding of the nuances of the topic and always has a clear understanding of the subject matter and details.

I’m always interested to hear what Aaron has to say on this podcast and in his written material. The issues he chooses to address are always relevant and his perspectives insightful and thought provoking.

While I appreciate much of what Aaron has to say, it seems every episode is an unspoken apology for liberals. Whether Tim Keller, Sam Alberry, or someone from TGC, Renn always manages to praise their “orthodoxy” which is far from biblical.

Sharp thinker with intriguing analysis, efficiently delivered. Worth your time.
