OnecicieraThe only podcast I listen toI have never seen an interviewer style like Omindi’s. It’s fresh, real, and direct. The conversation is always intimate and you feel this sense of openness and respect between Omondi and the people she Interviews. She always asks questions that evoke a story from the interviewee and I ALWAYS take something away from these stories. I am a black creative and Omondi teaches me to be fearless through my conquest. I am really thankful for this podcast and I pray it sticks around for a very long time.

RjsjajabnaI want to listen so badI had to stop bc of the sound issues. The undulating high pitch sounds/crashing symbols during crucial parts of interviews makes me very aggravated and sad. Not only are they not sensory friendly, but they’re too loud and really distract from the person talking under it. It doesn’t add anything to the significance of specific parts of the episode-intense sounds and music, that is. We can infer which parts we should be listening to more closely or ones you are trying to emphasize. The emotional reaction will come regardless of background sounds. You can also hear the insides of everyone’s mouths. Pleeeease read these reviews of ppl saying the same. I really, really want to be able to listen and support.

Audrey RoneyUnbiased and critical thinking!Recho Omondi is intelligent about her questions with the guests on the show. Omondi dives into everything that we, the audience, are thinking but too coward to say. Thank you for this podcast and the honesty!

RemiBaby17I’m two episodes in and have already learned so much.Came after listening to the Celebrity Memoir Book Club episode of Leandra’s book, and felt that Recho’s interview gave a lot of important perspective. The patience this team exhibited was astounding, especially after being asked to record the same interview *three times,* and allowing Leandra to review the podcast before publication. I was totally shocked to see so many negative reviews considering all of that, and think it’s incredibly unfair that the whole show has been penalized because some listeners had a problem with one interview. Recho and team, thank you so much for your work and insight into the world of fashion - I’m a fan.

Real Love PunkToo SnarkyThe host is knowledgeable and seems to enjoy the subject. However there's a level of snark and shot throwing that is unnecessary. It sounds like she is still trying to prove herself when she's already there. The anti-Semitic word choices she used is unfortunate (and debatable because of the realness of white supremacy) but it would be nice if she just owned the fact that she was an expert in the field and didn't feel the need to insult people to prove her expertise.
-
Lolalala11Casual anti SemitismI can’t imagine a parallel situation in which such a weak apology for such blatant anti-semitism and harmful propagation of misinformation tropes would be acceptable in response to racism against any other marginalized community. Really disgusting.
-
Aesthetics AnonymousAmazingly InformativeAn amazing look into the industry and the players in it. This is everything I did not learn in school. The host’s ability to give a compelling interview wile simultaneously being able to extract useful information from her guests is what keeps me coming back. I need a pen and paper every time I sit down to listen.

perrier with limeLISTEN COMPREHENSIVELYThis is an insightful podcast that sheds light on today’s disparities in not only the world of fashion, but also illuminating how negatively the fashion world has treated Black persons. Recho is doing great work and speaking for those who haven’t gotten their chance to say anything thanks to an old guard structure deeply embedded in systemic racism [yes, it exists!].
-
Boner the ricecakeAmazing with one caveatThis is a wonderful podcast discussing important topics. I am grateful to the host both for creating this and doing this vital work. However, and I hate to say this, but the host’s mouth sounds / noises are distracting — it sounds like noises one would make with dry mouth, and it takes the listener’s attention away from the subject matter. Maybe some water or some dry mouth medications would help? I struggle with dry mouth so this is truly coming from a place of trying to help, not hurt.
-
kthefoxMouth sounds - awfulThe mouth, saliva sounds are horrendous. Awful sound quality.
-
houzz 321The noisesThe hosts mouth/spit/smacking is tough to get through
-
Gossip Gender non-binaryYour reviews are LAMEThis podcast is truly the only voice in fashion delivering quality unbiased feedback on an industry that historically caters to its own agenda… If your feelings were hurt by THAT interview. Get over it honestly. And if you want her sound to be better, support her and donate or subscribe to her private channel. Support QUALITY CONVERSATION.

OhneviCringyThis could’ve been a great podcast but the slimy mouth sounds !!!! So cringe !!!! So cringe !!!!! I wanted to listen and tried but my goodness no !!!! The guest don’t seem to have that problem of mouth sounds so it made me wonder “ is the host doing this annoying sound on purpose ?” Does the host not have any friends to tell her about the sounds. Cringe !!!!! Cringe !!!!!

aidelmaidelEmbarrassingTrue colors finally showing. Wildly biased, bigoted and extremely cowardly and irresponsible re: fallout.
-
GenGenstgGeneral ListenerLove this. Very uncomfortable seeing jewish people equate anything to racism. Irresponsible and scary for a really nuanced view on the fashion induy
-
butfirstcafecubanoLooking forward to the future of this podcastI came for the interview with Leandra Medine Cohen, and stayed for all the previous episodes, which I have already binged and thoroughly enjoyed! Having now listened to all the other episodes, I can understand why there was so much hesitation to put out the interview with Leandra. Sounds like the process of getting that interview was a mess. I hope the host can get passed any fallout from that episode, and get back to putting out context similar to the previous interviews! They were great!
-
KASH💖💖💖A god sendEverything needed in the industry and then some. My only complaint is that her personal line is no longer available
-
felde-babeThank you for your apologyI am a Liberal Jew living in Brooklyn. My father is an immigrant, and I am the grandchild of 4 Holocaust survivors. We appreciate your apology, and we forgive you. Mistakes were made. But I didn’t get the impression that you actually understood just how damaging your comments were, or that this is precisely how antisemitism starts. If you did not know Jewish history before, I would encourage you to learn about our painful and complicated past. I, too, come from a family that arose from poverty and genocide. I am happy that you apologized, but the pain doesn’t go away.
-
iosonosenzatitoloNot good enoughSee other reviews on the ethical issues in a recent interview. I was so shocked. But now we’re post-apology. If more contextual discourse is needed like you say-and it is-then don’t make it available for patreon only. That episode gave many many people online a pass to spew their similar antisemitic beliefs publicly, to encourage each other, to bash Jews. If you genuinely want to make a dent to correct what you put out there and influenced, it should be available for everyone to listen to

Beautiful GenerationInformative! My first episode, and now I'm obsessed!
-
Podcasts or Bust!Perfect for Fashion GeeksGreat podcast that is a good source of information for industry insiders and people interested in fashion!
-
m1659282Great interview with Leandra but painful qualityThe mouth sounds, weird levels of background music made this podcast almost unlistenable. The content was super interesting and well done but truly painful to listen to the host’s swallowing the entire time.
-
more8689Don’t listen to this garbageHost and editor are two wet behind the ears antisemites.
-
the best music critic #11IrresponsibleThis was such a good podcast until the Tanning of America. Seriously - Manrepellers founder is not well. It’s clear she needs more therapy. She admits she’s been suicidal and it seems so irresponsible to launch a witch hunt against her. The hosts commentary with her editor was racist and narcissistic. The guest/prey in this episode spoke her truth and owned her mistakes. It just wasn’t enough for the host and editors and how could it be. The host was looking to hang the sins of an industry on the troubled-anorexic shoulders of a woman simply because the color of her skin wasn’t brown enough.
-
BetseykauffDisgracefulShameful to promote antisemitism and falsehoods A Jewish woman would be canceled or fired for saying such bigoted things Why should Omondi get a pass? Disgusting
-
Booch418AntisemiticAntisemitism has seeped into everything including the fashion industry. This host promotes bigotry.
-
MisstnwMouth noises are cringyThe material of the podcast is great but it’s nearly impossible for me to get beyond the mouth noises from the host. It sounds like she has a retainer in or is chewing on something and the sound makes my skin crawl. Sorry. Also, there’s a change in sound quality from the interview to voice over that is distracting.
-
D-rock17Antisemitic GarbageHost disparages Jews and acts like a perpetual victim. There are already too many of these podcasts. Lacks original thought.
-
happykeeper22The antisemitism for meI literally can’t believe what I heard on the Leandra pod. Jews are the original slave owning founders of America and JAPS and big noses....basically Jewish people are the worst? For someone who advocates for marginalized people, this really missed the mark.
-
nicknameistaken1359Tone-Deaf Anti-Semitic Atrocious GarbagePot calling the kettle black. It is unconscionable to me that the host and her sound editor don’t realize that they are doing exactly what they accuse Leandra of doing: not realizing the other person’s plight and what it means to walk in their shoes with the realities they experience. Instead of coming into the interview with an open mind, the host litters this hit piece with snide remarks and mocking smirks that radiate through the speakers. Leandra doesn’t sound like my cup of tea, but I can at least feel empathy for her as the daughter of a Persian (Iranian) and Turkish immigrants who are religious minorities trying to navigate a new country. While Leandra might have grown up with money, she suffers from scarcity mindset. But to the host and her sound editor they denigrate her and treat her experience as a punchline. In fact, I’ve never heard of a Persian being called ‘white’ before, so this is news to me that a Middle Eastern Jewish immigrant is seen as a white oppressor, being linked to the slave owning founding fathers. This is hypocrisy at its finest and I hope the host and audio editor realize that they are just as horrible to listen to as they accuse Leandra to be.
-
llieb22Do better.Listened once and happened do stumble on the moronic antisemitic diatribe that is the latest episode. Falsely talking about ‘many Jewish people being slave owners’ was just the tip of the iceberg. This is trash- don’t bother wasting your brain cells on such moronic fueled hate in the guise of ‘wokeness.’ DO BETTER.
-
Riveting.rosieCouple of things ….Great piece about Leandra but oh my god the mouth sounds. Please. My misophonia literally can’t take it.
-
BestImaBlatant antisemitismThe blatant anti Semitism in this podcast is horrifying! I can’t ever listen to another word! Disgusting!
-
Rainbow Steve 107Completely Anti SemiticNo further explanation needed
-
SarahW1265Wish I can give zero stars... 👎👎👎Horrible anti Semitic podcast.
-
cchhloeeeDisappointedLeandra never comes off well, but Recho was a disappointing host and didn’t come off well either. Loves Joe Rogan was red flag #1. Zero pushback to Leandra on her comments, then tears her apart behind her back… Not to say that some of Leandras comments weren’t absurd, but it’s not a fair or honorable way to run an interview, regardless of if she is a journalist or not. Oh also, antisemetic comments obviously strewn about. Probably should have gone with your instinct not to post this episode.
-
Reeb1414AntisemiticLove that the host stands against all forms of bigotry except for Antisemitism, which she chooses to espouse false, deeply concerning brainwashed type rhetoric for
-
Dtrockcity505TrashThe host is trash, she can’t say anything smart, witty, or even worth listening to. Honestly, she should get thrown off the air and never work again in any capacity. Complete moron.
-
wantedtolikeitAntisemitic comments edited outShe made multiple antisemitic comments in the Leandra episode and then edited them out later and pretended like it never happened. It is unfortunate. Hope there was some growth.
-
sansira16Hateful, anti SemiticWhile Leandra may be a little tone deaf in this interview, the host’s side commentary is hateful. If your only intention is to tear down the people you interview why even bother. For a podcast that hails itself for being inclusive and about intersectionality, it seems you have left no space for Jews. Instead of focusing on the Leandra’s upbringing, maybe you should’ve taken the time to ask her about why her parents fled from their respective countries. Oh right, that doesn’t fit your narrative. Educate yourself before continuing to spew antisemitic vitriol.
-
devenyuAnti semite!I wonder where all the anti Semitic rhetoric is coming from in this country. Should never listen to such people.
-
Mgl1993Tone deaf / leandra episodeIn your episode with leandra I think she was accountable and everyone discussing the episode hasn’t listened just saw some article about it. You called her white 80 times and erased her whole Turkish/ Persian and Jewish identity even when she totally acknowledged her perceived white privilege. Totally twisting her words. Really mean. The evil music while you read from her private journal…. I think you have a lot of biases against Jewish people you need to work on. Pitting two minorities against each other only makes white supremacists win. Whole episode she’s talking about how she’s learned and grown / trying not to be performative and clearly has a lot of work to do but so do YOU. Jewish hate crimes have gone up 60+% in past few months and where is your allyship?
-
sandyiodI’ve always been a fan but…It’s really hard to sit through an episode that pulls on Farrakhan-level antisemitic tropes and calls guests, however vapid, racist slurs. Like I didn’t realize Recho was racist and antisemitic, now I do, and it’ll be hard to listen again. It’s sad because it was a pretty decent podcast!
-
strong and tallAnti Semitic tropeA fashion podcast that is now about promoting anti Semitic tropes. Instead of fashion, Omondi is choosing to use her platform to spread lies and hatred.
-
stingrayhallYepReally interesting episode on the Man Repeller woman, but you gotta do your research just like you say others need to. Jewish people were not significant slave holders in America and are not considered among the early founders of America (unless you meant early settlers though they did not have much power). I had never seen or heard this woman before I listened to the podcast and looked her up, and yes, she’s a piece of work. I like that you push back on people’s tightly held narratives, but it’s worthwhile to realize all people have them - of all races and nationalities. Even yourself (all white women want butt injections?!). It’s a really complicated topic.
-
AZ&NYCruelty was the pointSeems needlessly mean spirited, I felt uncomfortable listening to Recho Omondi laughing during the interview, side commentary or when she talked negatively about her guest with her sound guy. I guess I believe empathy is the path to take with our fellow travelers of this world. Her anger is understandable, but it need not harm. Feels misdirected, Leandra and others like her will be part of the answer. As Recho said, it (racism) is a white persons problem.
