caljack51Easy to Listen, Much to Learn!I’ve been enjoying Miku Sensei’s podcasts since the pandemic halted my annual visits to Japan. They’ve been a key resource in helping me maintain my listening skills. I appreciate the interesting guests, but I much prefer when she takes center stage and shares her thoughts and experiences.

Jojo9312Great Japanese podcast for learnersMiku has a real talent for teaching Japanese. This podcast is geared towards Japanese learners. Most episodes are entirely in Japanese, but Miku speaks clearly and slowly, and often will phrase complicated sentences or words in multiple ways to make sure the meaning gets across. If you are learning Japanese this podcast is invaluable.
-
Mr.M3rkyBest Japanese podcast hands down!I really enjoy this podcast for some reason is the only podcast I can understand and catch some of the words or sentences, I really appreciate your support and the time you take to teach us all! Oh “I just started learning Japanese”

HgttttttfggfdvyujggjilljggFantastic learning toolMiku’s podcasts definitely hold your interest (you feel like you’re eavesdropping on a conversation between good friends 😁) and help to consolidate grammar and vocabulary that I have learned in the past. I’m also learning lots of useful expressions for future verbal communication. The transcripts are great too!
-
Maku pabrunFantastic tool to learnI have studied Japanese for over 20 years. Worked in Japan off and on for 17. Miku’s podcast is fun and interesting. I listen to it each day I drive to work. It has helped my Japanese and brought a smile to me. Strongly recommend to listen to her. She puts her heart and soul into her podcasts

Magical ExplorerAuthentic conversations with depth!I love that Miku’s shares and conversations are introspective, and share self-awareness & real reflections from the perspective of knowing both Japanese & foreigners’ cultures. She is also fun and engaging, and I love how she brings out this depth in conversation with other Japanese language podcasters too, introducing me to more folks.

FreziohMy favoriteI’ve been listening to Miku’s podcast for months during my commute to and from university. It has been incredibly helpful for my Japanese learning, and the topics she discusses have been beneficial to my life in general. I especially enjoy the solo episodes. My only complaint is that, as I’ve come to be more advanced, the one 15-minute episode a week just isn’t enough! I subscribe to the transcript service but I would pay more for more content if it were available. Anyway, thank you Miku for making my favorite podcast of all time.
-
KiderinaHelpful and insightfulI have been listening to Miku’s podcasts for a couple of years. I studied beginning Japanese through Genki I & II, and did some intermediate study using Marugoto and Quartet. I feel like her speaking is at the perfect level for me to follow. I learn some new vocabulary and grammar each time I listen, and I love how she records in a variety of styles, including fun chats with friends, talks about Japanese and world cultures, and solo episodes focused on life lessons and mindfulness. ポッドキャストを作ってくれて本当にありがとうございます!

AhoahowujifaThank you Miku-san!The best for listening and shadowing practice!

New2GigExcellent and FunMy Japanese learning stalled after a year of Anki JPLT flashcards, daily NHK News, and conversation partners. Found Miku podcast very fun and thoughtful, and helped me start using relational Japanese.

I.D. HaydelEasy to Follow and LearnTrying this podcast to build listening comprehension. Easy to listen to and learn from. ありがとう、みくさん!

AM JacobsWorth your time!I've been following Miku's podcast for almost two years now, and I could say it definitely helped me with my Japanese, especially comprehension and understanding Japanese people and their culture better. The show is diverse, in that it has interview format, dialogue format and discusses various interesting topics that are worth knowing about. A favorite of mine are the lessons on Japanese words that describe a philosophical prespective. Also life. Miku is like the Japanese friend that helps you grow. 本当にありがとう!このポッドキャストのおかげで日本語がもっと易しくなってきました。
-
dredmommyAbsolutely love this podcast! At my level of Japanese learning this podcast challenges me, but the content is so worth it! Miku-san dives in and speaks from the heart, which adds to my motivation to keep listening and learning. Great guests, too. Thank you!!
-
CarolineJ888Informative and fun podcast to supercharge Japanese learningThank you Miku sensei for the gift of this podcast! Both solo episodes and conversations with others are so helpful to hear natural speech in real situations. It’s a massive benefit to me as I learn how to talk to my friends and new people I meet (especially in Osaka!). The show is a great complement to classroom style learning. 不快話も大好き!めちゃ面白いとおも💚
-
KateatePerfect difficulty levelI’m an advanced Japanese learner but sometimes struggle following Japanese TV. I like this podcast because the conversations are real and infrequently used words are defined. The length is good too. Thank you, Miku!
-
RocketmanblambReal Miku 本当に treasure every encounterReally great episode on ichigo ichie I’ve studied and practice a little bit of Japanese Buddhism and have encountered this phrase before so it was very excited to see you discuss this. It’s a beautiful concept and a really good reminder for us to treasure every encounter.
-
Vaughan EppersonGreat podcast!I’m learning a lot from listening to this podcast. The topics are interesting and Miku is easy to understand while still introducing me to new words and phrases.
-
Superasia1Great for learning conversational JapaneseThe podcast is intermediate level conversational Japanese on fun topics such as culture and what is happening in Japan right now. Very informative.
-
Dubstep fanFantastic podcast - especially for intermediate Japanese studentsMiku is a very natural and talented teacher, I listen to so many podcasts but enjoy Miku’s the most. If you’re conversational / intermediate you will get so much from her conversations. The conversations are great - love her perspective on things and the subjects and guests are all fantastic. She also has a really great voice, this is actually more important than I thought - not every teacher has a voice I want to listen to lol. Going to join her subscription soon!

AirN0madI could listen to Miku 先生 forever 💖I started off with listening to Miku-sensei on YouTube because her videos have been the most helpful to me for learning Japanese, she’s a phenomenal teacher who is so naturally talented and entertaining when teaching! Now that I decided to listen to podcasts to supplement my learning, I’m truly amazed even more than I thought possible by Miku-sensei’s content! Besides being so easy to understand, her teachings of wise life lessons are super useful to me! She really inspires me in so many ways and I am so so grateful and appreciative for all she has shared with us! I’m so happy to be able to receive these life lessons while also improving my Japanese! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Miku-sensei! You’re the kind of best friend we all need, I wish to meet you one day! 🙏💖💗💖

dr j k jkGreat podcast for learning about Japanese or lifeI am half Japanese. I speak Japanese comfortably but I want to learn more and become more natural with my speech since I only talk to my dad usually and I can’t easily talk to people my age. Miku is the perfect teacher for me. She mostly speaks about sincere topics such as life, hobbies, philosophy, not just JPOP or anime. The show is fun to listen to even without the focus on Japanese language! I’m a huge fan now and I listen for fun.
-
Vamp wolf!ArigatouThank you Miku San for vulnerably sharing the topic of therapy. It is important we normalize mental health and being willing to go get the support we need.
-
ellborenFavorite Japanese Podcast!I love this podcast! Miku does a great job at incorporating japanese learning while having an entertaining podcast to listen to! It is also a great balance between easy and challenging Japanese, it is great for all levels.
-
グパグパPerfect listening practiceMiku’s Japanese is both natural and easy to understand. She does a great job explaining concepts and vocabulary so you are learning new things in Japanese, not your native language. The subjects discussed are also really interesting, especially if you are interested in living in Japan or Japanese perspectives.
-
Christelle Liviero AracenaGreat practice and interesting topics!I got back to studying Japanese last year with a teacher and I’ve been looking for ways to practice outside of class. My level is about a high A2, but it’s really easy to follow and I often play the podcast in the background while I work. After work, I check the videos to see how much I understood or check new words in the dictionary. The topics are often very interesting as well, I like hearing about women’s experiences and life and I used to be a language teacher as well, so it’s interesting when other teachers are interviewed! I would like to hear more about pop culture (like book or movie reviews) and small daily life things we wouldn’t know about unless we live in Japan. Thanks for the hard work!
-
Goodnight CassieBest podcast to practiceThe speed is perfect for high intermediate to advanced. I love that it’s interviews because it allows you to practice all kinds of voices, accents and speeds of talking.
-
acumoGreat podcast for Japanese leanersMiku Sensei’s lessons and podcasts are some of the best available on the internet. She is a wonderful teacher, speaks clearly, and talks about interesting topics. Her shadowing audios are also outstanding for learning grammar. My feedback is that I think that Miku should do more interviews with men. She has a few male guests but not many. It is very difficult to find audio of Japanese men who speak in a way that beginning/intermediate students can easily understand. Especially men with masculine voices. The problem is that if male foreigners learn Japanese mainly from female Japanese speakers (because they are easier to understand and more pleasant to listen to), we run the risk of speaking Japanese in a feminine way when we are in Japan. Also, it will be hard to understand Japanese men when they speak. So please Miku, interview more (manly) Japanese men! Thank you so much for all that you do and for all the excellent material you provide for Japanese learners!
-
CiSiCi750Amazing Podcasts by an Amazing TeacherMiku not only makes great videos teaching Japanese on her YouTube channel but now, also absolutely fantastic podcasts. She speaks clearly, slowly, and enunciates well, which is great for learners. The podcasts themselves are very well made, interesting, entertaining, and have a ton of variety in them. You never quite know what you’ll get and expect to be (pleasantly) surprised by each new one. Most importantly of all, they are easily digestible and you can listen to them whenever/wherever as you please. If you haven’t yet tried learning languages through podcasts, this would be a great opportunity to start. Thank you, Miku!
-
Lee 3DA44C5C74Great podcasts at native speedThank you, Miku, for making these great podcasts! I really like the fact that these shows at done at native speed! It is quite challenging for me now but I am learning a lot from them.
-
MagicPillowSpeed talkingI like Mike, BUT, the guest Noriko on many of these episodes talks WAY TOO FAST! She sounds like an anxious pumped up puppy dog. Why? SLOW DOWN!!!!!!! So annoying, I have to skip the episodes where Noriko is on.
-
tricycle222Wow! This is a fantastic podcast.I have been trying to understand spoken Japanese for many years and listening to Miku was the first time I could stop trying to translate in my head but just listen and go with the flow. What a wonderful gift to all of us who want to are trying to learn Japanese.
-
Henray2014Excellent Japanese language podcastI have been studying and speaking Japanese since 1986!! And I use Japanese in work and life all the time. Miku’s podcast and YouTube show are awesome. She is super clear. Talks and teaches important lessons. Reflects on life. Has great guests and always makes it interesting. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, you will benefit from her podcast. Thank you, Miku-san.

SnappingcrayonsSimply the BestI have been listening to Japanese podcasts for a few years, but I never enjoyed listening until coming across Miku’s podcast. She speaks clearly enough for learners to hear all the individual sounds, yet she avoids sounding as though she’s speaking to a small child or baby. Her tone is friendly and inviting and the content is interesting. This podcast as helped me immensely, I listen over and over again and have even purchased the audio course which is a game-changer for me. I hit a wall a few months ago and couldn’t make any progress, but thanks to Miku’s podcast and audio course, I’m able to speak Japanese confidently out loud. I can’t recommend this podcast and Miku’s content enough. If you’re learning Japanese, it’s a must listen. ミク先生、本当にありがとうございます。
-
Natalieee AReal Japanese, Real LifeI absolutely love learning from Miku and all of her content, including this podcast. I really appreciate how real and vulnerable she is with us while talking about life lessons, fun topics, culture, and everything in between. You really feel like you’re having a good conversation with a friend, even if you’re just listening! I find myself laughing just as much as learning. If you are a student of Japanese, you definitely have to listen! Thank you for your hard work, Miku先生. いつもありがとうございます!
-
Angela KubMy favorite podcast!I love learning Japanese from Miku and she’s my favorite Japanese podcast to listen to! I love that I can learn about the language AND culture/lifestyle in one podcast. Ever episode is different and fun/informative! 本当にありがとうございます!!!!Miku, if you are ever in San Diego, CA I would love to show you around! -Angela K

FengbeilingMiku先生は最高です❣️!こんにちは😃。I have studied 2 years of Japanese at Wesleyan University as a Chinese international student and have been obsessed with listening to Miku’s podcast everyday! I travelled to Kamakura in the winter of 2020, fell in love with it, and started my blogging. I would like to hear more about Kamakura, why you moved there, and your life there. Also maybe how is the moving process? Is it realistic for a foreigner to live in Kamakura? Hiroshima も!

Yonesato5 Stars Is Not EnoughMiku has been a pioneer in the world of online Japanese language learning. Many other teachers have come along behind her and some are great, but, in my humble opinion, Miku is the "Best of the Best"! A Rock Star! Regardless of your background in Japanese, she has something for everyone. Her lessons and podcasts and products are well thought out, practical and FUN! I can guarantee you will actually enjoy every minute with Miku. I sure do!
-
tanrunnerBy far the best!Miku is so fun to listen to! I’ve listened to other Japanese podcasts and honestly they’re not as entertaining nor do I understand them half the time 😂 Miku uses everyday language and speaks in a perfect pace so it’s easy to understand. I love hearing her conversations - it’s such good practice hearing natives speak!
-
kwghvcxghGreat intermediate Japanese listening practiceI downloaded this podcast to listen to on a flight and I’m really glad I did. Miku’s podcasts are fun and relevant and I feel like I’m listening to a friend speak. I’ve tried listening to Japanese news or academic podcasts before but they were not as engaging as Miku’s.

Dixon19gpeCreative, Funny, and Totally InterestingI started to watch Miku-Sensei’s YouTube videos during the pandemic. Now, I am applying to live in Japan for one year, but before I go I want to improve my Japanese. In the past I couldn’t find anyone like Miku-Sensei; she gives examples of the grammar point she is teaching, then goes over the grammar point, and then she gives you examples to work on! She has given us (Japanese language learners)GOLD!!! She goes into great detail and puts in so much effort to make learning fun and interesting. She has guest speakers, which helps to listen between different voice types. And she talks about so many different topics. The kind of topics that I care about and want to be able to talk about in Japanese. I don’t listen to a lot of podcast, but this is one of the ones that I make an effort to listen to because I know that it will improve my Japanese. I am so grateful that there is someone like Miku-Sensei who not only cares, but uses fun and creative ways to help others learn Japanese. Thank you, thank you, thank you so so SOOOO much Miku-Sensei! 本当に本当にありがとうございますミク先生。

Rome_loverAmazing Japanese Podcast!Miku writes fun podcasts, and I love how she covers so many different topics. My mother is from Okinawa, Japan, and I grew up speaking Japanese with her. It’s so difficult to remember how to speak when there are so few Japanese speaking people around me. This podcast helps! I appreciate how Miku defines more complex words but speaks Japanese throughout the podcast. I’ve listened to boring podcasts in the past to keep listening to Japanese, but it’s hard to get the motivation to keep listening to those other podcasts. I never have that problem with Miku. Thank you for your amazing work, Miku!!!

paul_engineerExcellent!ポールですけど。今月にポッドキャスト を1-18まで全部聞て見ました。色々な面白い話題についてすえにゲストスピーカーが居ると様々な話し方に慣れます。語彙に加えて、文法を学べとても役に立って。これから私は先生のユーチューブとインスタグラム も聞て見ます。 I listened to all the podcasts from 1-18 this month. Teacher has a guest speaker on various interesting topics, so you will get used to various ways of speaking. In addition to vocabulary, it is very useful to learn grammar. Fact is, she discusses, stress, fun, travel, travel, politics (roundabout), good points and interesting points of view. Very well rounded discussions. From now on, I will also listen to my teacher's YouTube and Instagram.

Chrissy / クリッシBEST JAPANESE PODCAST EVER FOR LEARNING!!!I have been self-learning Japanese since last March and I’ve never found anyone who actually makes me LEARN by listening; until I came across your podcast show!!! Your podcasts have helped me grow my listening and speaking skills so much. Recently, I’ve been hearing in your episodes some vocab that I’ve been learning/have already learned and it makes me so proud to be able to understand the conversation🥰. I can’t wait to continue learning with you!! ありがとうございましたみくせんせい❤️🔥❤️🔥
