Cherylb2021Delphi caseBiased. But I give Bob credit for being civilized and speaking openly with other content creators in Delphi while the jury is deliberating

mgrqceDeceptivePpl think they are getting an honest take from Bob & don’t realize all the little ways he distorts or ignores strong evidence & allows & often nurtures his followers insane conspiracy theories, which he in no way believes. Also I’ve started to be bothered by the way he talks about needing money & this not being cheap when the man is a highly paid defense attorney, & the agressive way he talks to his wife bothers ALOT of ppl, & while he always insists it’s fine, I’ve never heard Ali do so. I do appreciate Ali’s deep dive legal takes, but I don’t trust Bob at all on facts. I’ve seen too many little slippages or misrepresentations. Unfortunately most ppl don’t understand that defense attorneys’ obligation is to enthusiastically defend their client, which is why they are often allowed to skirt the line of ethical behavior, whereas prosecutors & judges obligations are to serve the interests of justice & the public.

Amanda M DLove love love. Unbiased and educatingI've listened to every episode and have come to love Bob and Ali. I've read previous reviews of how Bob and Ali bicker to each other, and quite honestly I love their realness. Their careers were arguing points! But Bob will go to war for his wife. They bring so much material and explain everything to the listeners so they understand. Thank you guys for the in depth pod. I will always share DD. Keep up the good work 🤘🏻

pvbbeeSo boringIt’s such a shame that the coverage of the Delphi trial is so limited I’m forced to listen to this to try to get info. I actually don’t mind that they’re defense biased, obviously expect that. But the “coverage” we’re getting is literally the wife reading and trying to decipher bob’s notes and saying over and over and over “Bob will have to explain that in the live” and then Bob rambling on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. Good lord he loves to hear himself talk. I’m obviously desperate for coverage to listen to this but it’s pretty impossible to stay with him because it’s soooooo boring and takes forever for him to get the info out.

whoknows 78Just boring and a bad attorney? If you want to listen to some guy reading stuff off his PC this is the show for you. You get a lot of extended pauses while I assume he rereads it because he doesn’t understand what it’s saying (or googling it). Used to be a good podcast but now it’s just boring and repetitive. Additionally he acts like he is the smartest person around and everyone else is idiots since he’s been “doing this for years.” I’m guessing he wasn’t a very good attorney since he keeps talking about wishing he could do it again.

JejfbejwFBI dismissal questionWas Doug Carter asked why he dismissed the FBI??? His Saturday testimony seemed very brief and I didn’t see any tough questions of him by the defense!!! Seems like he’s ultimately responsible for the poor investigation and he hasn’t been held accountable in front of the jury!!!

0neyearuserExcellent PodcastI just started listening to this podcast and I’m only in season one. It’s absolutely riveting so I came to leave a review and expected that it would be done after the Gacy case. I see that it’s in its 10th season covering other cases so I’m eager to continue listening once I’m done with the Gacy case.

twinmomma14DelphiYou always said if he ends up being the guy then so be it. Yet you are just taking each thing and picking it apart instead of looking at the totality of the evidence. Yes all the other stuff around Delphi was concerning but they obviously cleared these people . Come on, it would be so much easier to frame Keagan, Elvis fields, Brad Holder, Ron Logan but the fact that they didn’t should tell us something. According to some They put a unspent bullet but no dna of Richard Allen? Why not? FBI left in Aug 2021, the file clerk finding the file on RA wasn’t found until 2022. It’s not as nefarious as you all try to make it. It’s a shame. His confessions did not put him in jail/prison. They helped further the states case though. Idk, I really trusted you and I’m not giving a negative review and 1 start, I’ll still give you all the stars because I know you do this as a defense attorney and I hope to be able to trust you again. ❤️

Megan Tomlinson attorneyIt’s called Defense DiariesFor all of you complaining about the Delphi coverage, it’s called Defense Diaries. It’s fantastic to finally have defense attorneys perspectives while covering true crime — such a unique podcast for that reason and can’t believe nobody thought to do this sooner!
-
WaberbaberDelphiSo biased you could hear in their tone of disgust when talking about an experts testimony and at the same time they sound ignorant on the subject. Excluding the info that doesn’t fit. They tested eight guns including one from the Webber home and Wabash search. It matched up to none but Allen’s and the second opinion was independent without knowing her results. You don’t have to be a “science person to get this gig”. lol the person who constructed your house and put in electrical didn’t have a B.S or M.A either bro.

Slew33Downgrade muchCould you talk down to your wife any more geesh guy calm down. You must be a treat to live with.
-
A True True Crime JunkieGreat InformationThese are DEFENSE attorneys. Their goal is to insure defendants get a fair trial. A screwed up trial just drags the ordeal out for the families. Very informative breakdowns of the legal documents.
-
jfbrhdbBiasThese hosts are essentially guests of the defense team at trial. Richard Allen is bridge guy. Bridge Guy abducted those girls. Done.
-
Hillary KlienUtterly biased, listen at your own riskThis guy sits with the defense…..be warned.
-
JP ❤️ True CrimeExcellent CoverageAbsolutely love the coverage that Bob and Ali provide. No speculation, just facts!
-
youaintfunnyHeight of Richard AllenIm no spacial genius but couldn’t they just take some pictures of bridge guy superimpose them right over the planks that he was walking on and then measure the planks? They do all kinds of things with photos to determine peoples height. I would think they could do that with bridge guy just to give us a ballpark.
-
JkhdsjnjncxShadyShady host with a his own agenda. Do not support this man
-
House snoopCrazyMost biased podcast!
-
L*B*M*KNot at all for meReporting is biased, couldn’t listen to it for any actual facts.
-
brianotestaTake all my starsThey’re greeeeat! Bob and Ali are awesome and their insight and knowledge are second to none!
-
mynameisbornAmazingI worked as a paralegal for a public defenders office and this podcast has been so educational, as well as entertaining. So glad I heard you on Vanished!
-
cheryl_in_utahHooked from episode 1!I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more-addictive true-crime podcast. You know how with a really good book, you keep telling yourself, “One more chapter, then I’ll stop”? Except you can’t stop? This is the podcast version. “One more episode, then I’ll stop.” But you’re powerless.

4966lomlSo thankful you are helping improve the justice systemI thank you every time I listen, all episodes, for helping to improve the rights of ALL individuals! Whether they know it is important to them, needs improvement or not. Thank you for your legal explanations and for taking the time to explain the justice system to us. I was extremely negative towards it until I started listening to your show, and you’ve given me hope. Hope for change. Hope that we can make a difference!
-
ziIIa!If Bob can’t be there…just stop.Ali should not do the show alone. Too many long, awkward pauses. Hard to follow. Please just don’t.
-
Alex.DawsonObservations from the other side. This series is tops. Yes there is banter. Yes there are opinions. Three sides to every story. Big fan of this one.

Azure Jaguar 525Re: Delphi Murders pt 32Odinism or Asatru is a religious sect that attempts to revive ancient Norse religious beliefs and practices of pre-Christian Europe.
-
OotthecatLots of bragging about your legal prowessWhy can’t Allison get names correct or EVER pronounce “Monon” correctly? After so many hours of her husband’s expert commentary, you’d think she’d get some names correct.
-
wow i can'tDone listeningLiked it at first but the theories presented are so far fetched and reporting is biased. I can’t listen to another minute.
-
Gumshoe GalExcellent podcast!Absolutely love Defense Diaries. I found them on YouTube and had to get the pod in my list. Bob and Ali Motta are quite a duo. I love having the variety of content between YouTube, this podcast and their other work. You must check out each season because they bring new perspectives to things you think you know. Keep it up Mottas!!!
-
bboatwrightBest pod out!!Can’t get much more authentic than Bob & Alli Motta! Enjoy all of your content! #JBN forever!!!
-
Maggles979No credibility- Research the Delphi “Due Process Gang”I implore people to research the media they consume before they take anything at face value. These two are about the most unethical people operating in true crime media right now.
-
Tattedmom1982Hooked!!Robbbb….. found you guys a few weeks ago and I’m hooked!! I know, I know…. Super late to this party!! lol. Heard about you guys from the interview with Brett on The Prosecutors pod and ran right over to check yall out. Was hanging on every word in S1 with the Gacey case and S2 is proving to be the same with the Anthony Garcia case. You guys get me thru the work day, every day! Keep it up!! I love every episode! Sincerely, Just a chick from TN that loves True Crime!!

---(Heather)---Lacks integrityI thought this podcast would be great, but unfortunately I feel that the host is not credible. I will not listen, and I do not recommend this for anyone.

krakenstudioHold on to your headphones, folks, because this isn't your mama's podcast!Defense Diaries masterfully combines high-quality production with innovative narrative techniques, making it a must-listen for anyone who loves delving into the nitty-gritty of true crime legal cases but still wants to be surprised along the way. Motta's knack for weaving together facts and perspectives has an added touch of drama needed to create the immersive experience that keeps me eagerly anticipating as each episode comes to life with a witty innuendo that keeps me thoroughly entertained.
-
sara7489OkI like their voices. Obviously they’re defense attorneys. But I don’t feel like Bob is very aware of his bias. Sorry. I like the older cases better. I don’t feel like the more recent stuff is as objective.
-
Steph_Esq.My Favorite Podcast of All TimeI’m a baby criminal defense attorney and this is literally my favorite podcast. I learn so much from y’all. Thank you for the time and energy you put into this work.

DawncassamyThe main stories are good. The rest is lacking and uncomfortable.I use to love this podcast. I would get excited when it would release new episodes. I think your voices are very relaxing and your ability to “tell a story” is great. But recently I’ve been getting less and less excited about it. I enjoy your main stories, but your extra content is becoming more and more aggressive. Ever since you started posting about Delphi murders. Listening to Bob talk about it makes me feel completely uncomfortable. The amount of aggression towards anyone involved is concerning. Especially those who don’t have the same view points. I understand a man’s life is on the line. I understand we want the best possible outcome. I agree on both of those. But acting this way doesn’t get your point across any better. For my own personal experience it has actually deterred me from your argument. Spewing awful nonsense about another person and saying inappropriate things doesn’t help. I feel like you can get your point across just as well without acting the way you are. And no, I'm not talking about cussing. It’s the harmful language aimed against other people.
-
mcamps1220Disappointed in Delphi coverageI used to enjoy this podcast and YouTube for Bob's perspective as a defense attorney, but not since he began peddling nonsensical, far-fetched conspiracy theories for clicks. It's disrespectful to the people involved in the case - including the survivors and the defendant - and it's creating even more of a circus.
-
my3sonsohioDoneBob has jumped the shark with his association with the Delphi defense team and their unethical collaborators. Disgusting behavior from someone who likes to tell others to be kind. Also, his format is very difficult to follow. He jumps around from case to case and leaves you hanging while he’s busy with five dolla hollas on YouTube (super gross).
-
🖤Rogue🖤Highly Disappointed!I prefer listening to a combo of pods covering all sides of an issue, and why I began listening to this one several years back. Above all, I require ethical behavior in the pods I support. As of today, I am unfollowing DD and anything else associated with Bob et al. Truly sad that it’s come to this, Bob.
-
a7b74Great In Depth True Crime ContentI have listened to season one of Defense Diaries Podcast more times than I care to admit since first finding it in the summer of 2021. I’ve kept up with your coverage of Delphi and the analysis of the Steven Avery case. I’m a daily trial watcher on the YouTube channels of Bob and Jay (The Shaming of Jay). Keep up the great work. I love your content and appreciate your analysis. Keep making all the great podcast/channel suggestions and having such great guests during the trial watches and other lives on YouTube because I know when you give a recommendation I can count on it.
-
GlencoemojoEhhhhThis podcast’s Delphi coverage is disgusting. No respect for the victims’ families is shown. Childish.
-
Brit Sue boymomIt’s changed.I originally really enjoyed this podcast and the perspective. However, recently, it seemed to jump all over the place. Further Mr. Motta often portrayed himself as an objective observer, which I loved. As the podcast has expanded, he seemed to become inappropriately involved in certain cases. I’m unfollowing for now, but really hope this podcast gets back to its roots.
-
LaurelnHardeyBest Duo!We love that Bob and Ali always keep it real and make sure to say both sides. *defense attorneys, naturally they tend to follow the innocent until proven guilty*. Their YT is fantastic, podcast fantastic, I highly recommend! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
-
workitmama007FraudI listened and was team Motta. Boy was I wrong. It was like the story just stopped. I was annoyed, and hoped the stories would be wrapped up soon. Nope! Now, I feel like Mr. Motta has shown his true slime bag character, with his narrative of the Delphi murders. It’s heartbreaking really. What a joke!
-
Dr L. V.Defense LegacyBob has given me a greater appreciation of the role of a defense attorney is with regard to 6th Amendment rights. It is so cool that he followed in his father's footsteps and became a defense attorney. Its even cooler he married Ali whom he met in law school and is also a dedicated defense attorney!
-
dixiejeaux22Real Perspectives w/legal knowledge appliedLove this pod- from the coverage of Gacy to other current ongoing trials/convictions. Bob & Ali entertain while cutting to the meat and potatoes of each investigation/case.
-
