These two guys have brilliant minds and it’s great to see them think together

Two stoned teenagers skipping school sit under a bridge and have an inane conversation about why humans dream. It obviously sounds interesting to them, because they are high, but to me it was painful to listen to two genuinely smart and fascinating thinkers make fools of themselves. Guys, sober up and edit before dropping this crap.

Sam Harris, the Malibu Meditator, now mainly a commie fascist gaslighter, is a moron. He had worthwhile things to say on jihadist Islam. but has gone off the rails. Hang it up Sam, your leftist blathering is worthless. You are trash.

I love the humorous and thought provoking banter. I don’t love the contortions I have to go through to try and listen to it on a browser or wherever after digging up my order confirmation/subscription yet again. Should be seamlessly in my Apple Podcasts. Perhaps it’s me. Anyway, I give up. :(

They need to get with the times and move to Apple Podcasts where people can/will actually listen to the full series.

You two are the BEST. Smart but at times wittily (I think I made up that word) sophomoric. Complete enjoyable while still managing to work through some complicated topics. LOVE IT. Sam, my post 50 rules: drink a tad less wine, stay off Twitter (ok all social including text) after 9pm. Ricky, every movement upright now counts as exercise. *cats are low maintenance. *dogs are a lot of work. Guinea pigs are the worst of both worlds and they die sooner.

Sam can you modulate your voice just a little so my mind doesn’t wander to my to do list. Geesh! I see why you need Mr Gervais to carry you. Snooze.

I find these paid podcasts extremely cumbersome and hard to use. Sam Harris and Absolutely Mental are the worst for being user friendly

Listened to the short clips of the show (I didn’t purchase the subscription). Light, entertaining and good for a few laughs. Enjoyed what I heard.

Seriously, has no one else noticed that there’s been an announcement about Series 2 — Fantastic, can’t believe my luck to hear that another entire Series of an entirely new set of phone calls between Ricky and Sam. I can’t wait to BUY them when they come out…. So, when I see that the “New Episode” has just come out, ofc I’m thinking “Oh wow, Episode 2 of Series 2 just came out, and it says on August 17th, 2021. [sounds pretty great so far, right?] Amazing, I’ll have that — and OH, Yeahhhhh... That must mean that there’s an S2E1 Episode out there for me to BUY to listen to again and again, just like I did for the 1st Series. I can’t even explain how frustrating it is to download this, and notice what a lot of people have already commented on, here: The “New Episode” isn’t new at all, there’s no new material, or in fact, a Series 2 out yet (adding more mystery as to why I had an alert that S2E2 was available…nothing further from the truth has been uploaded) and what’s worse is that I CAN NO LONGER FIND MY SERIES 1 OF “ABSOLUTELY MENTAL that I paid MORE money to OWN, rather than rent…. and to add insult to injury, so far, Apple/whomever has made it apparently impossible to re-listen to the 1st Series. I hate this service; someone owes me answers and money.

Grew up with Gervais on XFM and grew into Sam Harris more recently. Listening to them play “would you rather” over internet telephone—surreal and enjoyable as it gets

When the heck is episode 2 coming out

If I had found a magic lamp, this would have been my first wish. comedy+science=delicious genius

I subscribed, but I only have access to the first episode. It says there are 11 episodes. I contacted customer service but no reply. Disappointed.

I listened to the one free episode and it’s fantastic. Just not ‘$14.99 for the entire series’ fantastic.

I am to cheap to buy the all the sessions, but what I heard was great!

2 of my favorite public personas on the same podcast and both needing out about their prospective fields and giving the listener aVenn diagram of comedy, philosophy, neurology and more!!

The host keeps interrupting with stupid jokes when the guest is speaking. It is so annoying.

What happens when a PhD Neuroscientist and an Award Winning Comedian/Writer/Producer have a chat? Every topic is up for grabs, including theriocephaly and murdering little old ladies. If you like to learn and laugh, this podcast series is worth more than the less than the price of a cup of coffee per episode you’ll pay.

Amazing podcast – impossible to find after you buy it… Subscription is a disaster.

Love how well these two compliment each other, two brilliant minds coming together to give some more laughs and knowledge to their audiences.

I like Ricky Gervais just fine, but I was under the impression this podcast was going to be Ricky asking funny/interesting questions, then Sam answering them meaningfully while Ricky provides color. Sadly, that is not the case. Ricky asks his question, Sam gets about 6 words in, then Ricky interrupts and spends the next 45 minutes poorly interpreting and answering his own questions while a doctor in neuroscience sits silently and occasionally says “yeah.” I’m not unhappy I purchased, however I probably wouldn’t do so again.

Sam, Ricky ... can two people be more witty? I salute you for coming together in such a crazy, intelligent partnership🙏👏👏👏

Use an episode to talk about the office. I know you had a lot to do with the US version. I love the British version. I love Ricky but babe this is 😴

Yeah, two of some of my favorites discussing ideas in a way that is built to amuse as well as attempt to delve into a concepts that people are often curious about. Adding the aspect of comedy just balances out what people need to understand, and they can absorb ideas in a different way. I can't wait to indulge in more, regarding these topics as it could be fun hearing it through the lens of these two. Although, I think it will be more helpful to new comers, as some of us are already there, and just want to have a laugh at the insights.

I love Ricky Gervais most of the time. And I like hearing about science. But this was not funny, and not very interesting. I didn’t learn anything. It didn’t seem as if they planned the episode very much. Just a conversation without much point.

But honestly I could listen to Ricky Gervais read me the phone book and be entertained. So excited for more episodes!

Its almost impossible to make Ricky boring but Sam Harris did it! This is a SNOOOZZZZEEE FEAST...too bad. Ricky is the best

Do people really enjoy listening to Ricky Gervais spout his nonsensical opinions while Sam Harris oversimplifies science to clickbait headlines? And they think people are going to pay for this? They can’t even stop talking over each other.

What more can be said about these two? Sam is the voice of reason of our time, and Ricky is... Ricky. Two geniuses in their own lanes, two greats of our era. Never would have imagined these two would or could possibly partner up and produce something together, but the mad men have done it. Do yourself a favor and listen in on these fun-loving and insightful conversations. Ricky’s happy-go-lucky nature combines with Sam’s intellect to create one of the most entertaining and interesting sets of conversations of all time.

Anything Ricky does is 10/10, love that it’s also educational instead of ramblings.

Super interesting topic but there was precious little Content on the matter. Most of this was Ricky riffing on the nature of comedy. Still entertaining but I wanted to hear more about dreams.

I absolutely adore Ricky Gervais and I’m “chuffed” to listen to this Podcast!! 😆 Episode One, had me engaged the entire time and wishing I could be part of the conversation. I’m so looking forward to the rest of the series ❤️

I haven’t even listened yet but I love both these guys and I’m already convinced this will be one of my new favorite podcasts. I have one suggestion though... please convince Karl Pilkington to make a guest appearance!!! Please?

Sam Harris wrote an article in 2006 called “In Defense of Torture” so you should discuss that because it's absolutely mental lol

Anything with Ricky Gervais. This was a really good first episode. Great conversation. They make a good team. And I absolutely loved the way it ended. I’m looking forward to more.

Long time Sam Harris fan and also love Ricky Gervais. The combination of Ricky’s humor and down to earth questions with Sam’s gift for language make this a fantastic podcast. Love the content and the people making it.
