    Ben vs Sam
Hilarious that Ben clearly doesn’t care about character (male only, I’m guessing) and straight-up just skips COVID in his analysis. Ben’s arguments are weak, Sam’s are better…Trump DID NOT engage in a peaceful transfer of power.

    Islamists
The problem with islamist and leftists apologizing for Islamists are serious and real. I would like yo see a debate between Mehdi Hassan and Sam Harris. And please if Mehdi Hassan played personal attack and use the word racist cut the show and kick him out right away.

    Dangerous Misinformation
Nothing in the Steele Dossier has been disproven as of 2024. It’s an easy Google. And yet for some reason, in the episode about Trump’s lies, they REPEATEDLY refer to it as “a lie” or “bulls***”. Does no one fact check at The Free Press?

    Excellent from the start
Long-time listener here. Love the show, especially the Michael Moynihan and Eli Lake episodes - Keep ‘em coming!

    Terrific Debate
This was a very intelligent, interesting debate with two guys who are able to clearly state their views and their reasons for holding those views. Must listening for anyone who is undecided & even if you’ve already voted! Thoroughly enjoyed the debate between 2 very smart guys.

Few of the main questions conservatives care about
Why can’t conservatives ever get the questions they care about: 1.Kamala said on CNN that there will be no exceptions for performing abortions-so religious hospitals have to do them. Is that not a freedom issue? 2. Democrats constantly split us apart by falsely saying what Trump says (white supremists are fine people) he will go after his political opponents(the dems are actually doing that) sending the military after the people(out of context-Tim walz did that to finally calm riots) how can they be shown as party that brings us together? 3. Lawfare is so scary to us. How can they say he will go after political opponents when that is what they have been doing to us! Where are these questions! Want trust back, ask the things that we care about.

    What MSM Should Be
When you get partisans from all different factions crying because they were offended (as many many of these reviews do), then you’re actually doing your job. If a news outlet isn’t upsetting their audience sometimes then it’s probably just pandering to them. If you want your beliefs affirmed then go to church or a rally or whatever. If you’re curious and willing to explore issues from multiple perspectives then give this show a listen.

    Honest and respectful
I enjoy listening to this podcast. I find it being honest and respectful conversations

No mention of reproductive rights in debate???
Stunning that Bari Weiss left this out.

    Debate
Bari and Sam ganged up on Ben. It was unprofessional. Sam interrupted Ben multiple times but Ben didn’t once. Ben won the debate. Sam just repeated the same old tired tropes. Dr Saad was an excellent guest. Nice job interviewing him. A Jewish middle eastern man in higher education should be listened to very closely.

    Sam Harris
How does a person that has a career in speaking and pontificating use the word “right” after nearly every statement. It makes what he says unlistenable because it is such a distraction.

Thank you for the Ben Shapiro/Sam Harris Debate
HONESTLY did us all a service putting together the Shapiro/Harris debate. Thank you! Barri moderated it well, and the respect between and for the participants was so very much appreciated. Finally a debate about real policy, actual facts, and real issues that affect us all. There’s no doubting that Ben Shapiro is well studied and an excellent debater. But it was easy to see through the rhetorical contortions and absurd attempts to compare Trump to Kamala that more often compared him to Biden, Hillary, Obama, or AOC. You (and Barri) really had to reach! HONESTLY, Ben Shapiro’s arguments were blatently disingenuous. It is plain to see that neither he nor any of us should put aside Mr. Trump’s character or lack thereof. BEN, would you leave your children under Trumps care? Would you take their day school class to a Trump rally? Would you seat him at your Shabbos table? Pretend all you like, Ben Shapiro. You know the truth as well as Sam Harris. HE JUST ARGUED IT BETTER. Come over to the light, Ben Shapiro. We’d be very glad to have you.

    High quality
Can’t imagine the life without Honestly during these challenging period in our history! Difficult times, but fulfilling conversations. I often feel I need to listen to the episodes the second time to fully absorb the discussion. Thank you so much!

    Disturbing
Have to say I am extremely disturbed by Saad’s view that it’s no big deal to lie about the election being stolen and disappointed you did not challenge that. Following his line of reasoning, why is he not able to see some of Harris’s positions as rhetoric, and goes as far as claiming that “Harris (by advocating for equity and decrying price gouging) represents all of the possible violations of the deontological principles that made the United States.” That is a baffling and blockheaded claim. It is sad that Saad believes he is rational and you let all this go without debate. Trump’s claim is dangerous whereas Harris’s are not. Normally your episodes are great but this was sickening to hear.

    Dr. Gad Saad
The newest episode, the conversation with Dr.Gad Saad, is as good as journalism can possibly get. The questions posed by Weiss prove beyond any doubt that she possesses an outstanding intellect and has earned a seat at the “higher thinker” table. Dr. Saad may very well be my favorite guest thus far. We need more of this! Thank you HONESTLY. Exceptional conversation, and I daresay, a boost to my vocabulary.

    Disgusting
You justify one year of genocide (or if that word is to descriptive for you, how about 40,000 dead, children's limbs being collected in bags, reporter's bits of burnt flesh collected in shoe boxes) by one day of terror, but you can't justify resistance for 76 years of terror? Oct 7 may have been brutal, but the cause was Israel, because if the past 76 years hadn't happened, and zionists didn't take land that wasn't there's, it never would've happened. Vile.

    🌟 Appreciation 🌟
I appreciate Bari Weiss and this podcast in its exploration of ideas, getting the best from all sides on the issues. TFP makes me smarter and a better informed advocate (I am an advocate for women’s sports), donor, citizen and voter. I forward episodes to friends regularly. And as a non-Jew, I liked Brianna Wu’s suggestion to reach out to the world for support. That going it alone is brutal. (Ok, my word, not hers) Thank you.

    More Moynihan!
Love the show! Give Michael is own interview podcast! Cant wait to hear more! Excellent addition to the team!

    Brianna Wu
I cannot say how much I loved this interview. As a gay man, I have felt unmoored by what I saw from the left in the wake of October 7th. Brianna Wu resonated with me so much. I appreciate knowing that there are other lefties out there like me.
  • jcjwmc
    Excellent interview with Briana Wu!!!!
    Thoroughly enjoy your podcast.

    Interesting Listening
Do I agree with everything that’s said? Never. But that’s how it should be. Does it ask thought provoking questions and teach me something new? Always.
  • Shkdoc
“Darryl cooper thinks hitler is not that bad” is Bari’s “very fine people” hoax
You keep talking about Darryl Cooper and it is obvious that you have never actually listened to his podcast. You completely misrepresent his positions and it’s frustrating because it’s such an easy problem to fix. Literally just listen to what he has to say before you start criticizing. In other words, just be a journalist. It’s like your job.
  • Basically and essentially
    So close
Unfortunately Bari is still very close minded to some subjects in spite of the truth being readily available. Being liberal and progressive should mean we are open to new perspectives or even revelations which discredit what we have always “known” to be true. Openly bashing Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson for doing what she won’t because of her bias discredits her journalism.
  • BeeMother
    Honestly Honest
I love listening to this podcast. I’m a Hispanic Chicano who is Libertarian- and never agree with either party. It’s always great to hear different sides and ideas always presented rationally. Bari is a favorite of mine because she asks tough questions. Bari is not one to back down but she is so gracious and I just enjoy her conversation. Something I look forward to hearing each week!
  • Jen Kup
I was hopeful, but I’m out.
There are some episodes that I think are fair and do a great job of encouraging respectful discourse, especially the live debates. However, there are some interviews (like the recent Megyn Kelly sit down) that were so disappointing. If Honestly will publish an interview where a guest claims that Alex Jones shouldn’t be totally written off because he’s been right about frogs changing their gender (even though he tortured the Sandy Hook families)…if in that moment the interviewer won’t put that guest in the hot seat (like the summary suggested)…if the interviewer will briskly move on from that…then sadly I think I’m out. There are guard rails, I hope Honestly isn’t throwing them all out for the sake of Free Press. I’m not sticking around to find out.

    Democrats for Trump
Bari, I very much respect what you have done with your brand and the issues that you’ve covered. However, this is the first time I’ve strongly disagreed with you regarding your Trump whataboutism argument. You have been one of the most vocal advocates in support of Israel and denouncing antisemitism here in the US, so I find it very odd that you would raise flimsy comparisons of right wing extremist who aren’t even voting for Trump or provocateurs who grift to what we have witnessed from the left in the last eight years. Trump is not an antisemite. An antisemite, would not have pushed to pass the Abraham accords or open a US Embassy in Jerusalem. Or attend a prayer visit to Ohel in Queens, NY. I live down in Houston and have witnessed more antisemitism in the last year than I ever thought I’d see in my own lifetime. And it wasn’t from any Republicans, I can tell you that much. It was from woke liberals, flying Palestinian flags from their cars in front of synagogues on the anniversary of 10/7. The insanity of the Democratic Party on the subject of Israel and American Jews in general is completely unacceptable.

    Michaels political knowledge
Very disappointed that Michael has bought into the redefinition of ‘conservatism’. Conservatism hasn’t changed - the GOP no longer represents conservatives (who are also classical liberals). Hoping the FP will endeavor to keep these definitions correct and clear. ‘Progressives’ vs ‘Populists’ is where the party centers of gravity are these days. This is important to keep clear.

    One Sided
A very one sided take on the history of Palestine and Lebanon. Outside voices and native people of these lands are never consoled, but western white voices are always the top “source” of what is occurring in these countries.
  • Passenger99
    Finally, a real journalist!
Bari is why I learned Twitter and Facebook were wrong about the Central Park Karen. She illuminates truths and exposes media lies - much like Michael Shellenberger and Matt Taibbi . She definitely has her biases against Trump and for Israel, but I do think she’s being honest. Even when she falsely accused Tulsi Gabbard of being a Assad Apologist.

    Fully recommend
This podcast continues to be fascinating and well-informed. I trust the viewpoints offered.

    Douglas Murray
Love his Sunday posts in TFP, Things Worth Remembering. I love his take on all that is happening in the Middle East and I love how fearless he is on calling out the antisemitism that is growing like a horrible mold in the darkness of academia and government officials, taking Qatari cash, etc
  • Sdlover84
    5 stars for Megyn Kelly!
Honestly I stopped listening to Bari’s podcast and unsubscribed from it, she’s a little too progressive for me and while I can appreciate some of her perspective, I dont feel she’s truly 100% objective and non partisan. I LOVED the MK takeover however. Megyn Kelly is amazing especially on subjects I feel strongly about (aka NO children cannot be trans) and I enjoyed this open conversation. MK has bari on sometimes and it’s always a pleasant conversation in general, as both of them can be respectful that their viewpoints are vastly different. I only came back to Honestly since MK mentioned it in her show that she guest hosted and am glad she did.

    Douglas Murray
Finally- the truth has another forum. The show with Douglas Murray is perhaps the single best podcast i’ve ever heard about the Middle East current defense

Douglas Murray: A Time of War
Bari’s interview with Murray should be required listening for everyone between the ages of 15 and 99.

    Unhinged Megyn!
When Bitter Bear Megyn is making an absolute fool of herself with her inane extremism Moynihan has to challenge her a lot more than he did.

We want Bari back on this podcast!!
After all it’s called Honestly With Bari Weiss isn’t it? A key reason why i became an early fan and subscriber was the exceptional quality of conversations hosted by BW. But for a long while now it’s been a substitute running this and I am sorry to say this but he’s just not in the same league as Bari. It’s one thing to have an occasional sub but the regularity with which we eagerly tune into listen to an episode only to find out that it’s Michael Moynihan hosting is very disappointing Please either have Bari Weiss be doing these conversations or, in the interest of TruthInAdverting at least change the name to Honestly With Michael Moynihan - so we can stop following this podcast

    thank god for megyn
this podcast had gone so downhill for me. thanks for hosting megyn and platforming someone with passion and idealism.

    Episode on end of Empires
Couldn’t believe my ears in this episode that painted Democrats almost exclusively as the norm deviators.
  • The Rx747
    Wow! Sad to hear!
This latest episode commentary about the demise of the Roman republic and its parallels with present day politics in America couldn’t be more obsequious toward Donald Trump. The system is going after Trump?! Because he’s a man of the people?! My dudes, what are you smoking?!?! There has never been a bigger grifter transgressor in the history of American politics than DJT! The states coordinated his indictments to take place in an electoral year? Are you insane? I thought the “Free Press” and “Honestly” were serious endeavors. Other than the pieces about Israel, with which I wholeheartedly agree, this is an exercise in paring Trump’s arguments clouded in an effort to make it sound high-minded and objective. But it’s blatantly clear that this is part of the Trumpian gravy train. Sad to say but even sadder to hear.
  • the real melakay
    Thanks for the info
I learned so much particularly in the episode about anti-history. The interview was so level-headed and helped me see things in a different light. Smart people talking about things they know well in a calm and curios manner. I guess it’s not too much to ask for!
  • jscottalexander
    Moderately biased
I had hoped, first, to hear Bari Weiss, but since subscribing several months ago, I’ve not yet heard her on one episode. Second, I had hoped they would be more evenhanded and investigative in their reporting on former President Trump. Unfortunately, they promote the same worn out and unfounded tropes of the big media companies., specifically regarding the pristine nature of the 2020 election. Lastly, to claim as they do in the Sept 26th episode, that the Marxist/WEF powers behind the modern Democrat party are not an existential threat to all freedom loving people demonstrates a lack of seriousness and inquisitiveness, thus leading to a lack of credibility.
  • JenniferK310
    Biased and inaccurate
I used to love this podcast, but now I can see that Barry Weiss has become biased. For example, on the episode with Rand Paul, she claimed that Candace Owen’s was losing her mind, with no evidence to back it up. It became obvious that she has a vendetta against Candace because she just threw her name in there as it had nothing to do with her interview. Barry - it makes you less credible when you sink to this level. Do better hun. Also, Barry insinuated that the Trump campaign has lost its way talking about eating cats and dogs. That is just 10% of the story. Maybe your podcast should actually go to Springfield Ohio or talk to Vivek who actually went to Ohio about what is really going on there. I left this review 1 star, instead of 0 stars, because I did like the July 18th episode, “Disenchanted with Democrats” is eye opening. Listen to Tyrone Muhammad, the 2nd person interviewed, and you will truly understand the reasons for this shift as eloquently explained in his own words. This is one of the best episodes of this podcast and one that embodies the huge 2024 shift we are starting to see.
  • AliceKM
I like Bari Weiss but as long as they suffer from the TDS, they are not really FREE PRESS
I was one of the first subscribers to Bari Weiss’ podcast, and she was an amazingly fresh voice in the on-sided reporting landscape. However, since the establishment of “The Free Press”, it is clear that all the reporters without exception suffer from TDS. As long as this is the case, they cannot call themselves “Free”. They are not free from understanding the concerns of 70 million voters. If you excuse yourself from bringing pro Trump points of view, you are just another activist posing as “objective“ reporters.

    A MUST LISTEN!!!
Fabulous podcast! One of my top 5! I never miss an episode - even the ones that might “annoy” me! ;) great job and thank you for what you do all at the FP!!!

Ad & Promo Load is Ridiculous
Just sat through 10 mins of ads and promos, only to get 3 minutes of content and then guess what…? Back to more ads. I might as well be watching an NFL game. Bari - get on this!
  • He who shall remain nameless
10 minutes of ads and intro before the interview starts?
    Why though?
