    Not an episode recap
I listened to this podcast hoping to hear a recap about every episode to fill in the blanks and mention things I might have missed. Too much time was spent talking about the production and the set and the actors IMO. I still listened but I kept wanting the podcast to talk about what transpired in every episode. Great series and I highly recommend it but this podcast was disappointing in the sense of what I was looking for.

Love the topic; hosts ruin it
I enjoyed the show so much but the podcast is so unintelligent by comparison. The female host (Angelica?) is almost unlistenable. I understand the virtue-signal reasoning in choosing her but it takes away from the conversations and even from the show. Stopping listening so I can enjoy re-watching.

    Hosts are terrible
It was a much better book than a show but I watched the show twice. It was well done (the show) and even though I really disliked some of the creative choices I see why the show runners did so for the reimagining. The hosts are odd. Explaining Miranda as …. Struggles as a black female artist…. By the writer does a disservice to the character and the magnificent actress who played her. That said. Angelica’s ease with crapping on people because of their race (ep 3 at 4 minute mark) and when talking about cults are unacceptable. And the writer saying “I can’t wait” etc when Angelica says she is about to dunk on white men… Embarrassing. The hosts are smart but their view of the world is trifling if their commentary is to be believed.

    Too much navel-gazing and self-congratulations
Hey, the TV series was good. I liked it. And the book was good. I read it when it came our in 2014. This podcast however, seemed more like friends talking amongst themselves with in-jokes and less informative for the general listener.

    Enjoyed the podcast
I enjoyed the podcast, but I never want to hear the word “collaborate” again.

    Excellent Companion Podcast
I absolutely loved Station Eleven (the show) and was immediately interested in how it was made during the pandemic. I waited until I had seen all the episodes before I read too much because I was wary of spoilers. (I only wish I had noticed this podcast sooner.) The tension of the story/characters, as well as the stunning visuals and fantastic performances, held me through each episode. After finishing the series, I watched it again and loved being able to piece things together, knowing what happens. Now, more than a month after my second viewing and I came upon this podcast. I'm loving hearing about the process! Great hosts, interesting guests, thoughtful conversations. Thank you!!!!

Both hosts didn’t deal the book and it showed
Big mistake in having one host who didn’t read the book. Especially glaring in episode 9 when the author came on.

    The host ruins the podcast
The constant cursing and totally gratuitous use of the F bomb is grossly unprofessional. Then you have the constant woke virtue signaling—it’s eye rolling amateur hour. A word of advice, Angelica: It’s not about you. I loved this series, but the host of the podcast ruined a lot of its magic for me, and by the reading of the reviews, many others. We don’t need an upper east side lefty telling us how to interpret art.

Great podcast of a great show!
Angelica and Patrick do a magnificent job of adding richness and detail to what is my favorite show of 2022. Also enjoy the cast and production members whom they bring on to add additional insights and context to a particular episode!

    Great listen, watch, read
Watched the show and knew there was something special about. Listened to the podcast to get insight and was delighted. Thank you for that. Now reading the book and finding it very satisfying. Looking forward to more from these folks!

    Thank You
Just like the show I have not wanted to get to the tenth episode of this podcast. The conversations have been fun and enlightening. The show is a feeling that will stay with me for a long time. So beautiful and I know I will go back it someday to take in again, maybe when this is all over. It has meant a lot. Thank you.

Great partner to the show and the book!
I watched show, then read book and now listening to the podcast. I find it really interesting in that order as I am learning about the thought processes that led to the show being different than the book. Fascinating to listen to. And I say that as someone who generally always reads the book first and thinks the book beats the movie/show! This is the rare exception for me but love all three! Well done!

    Wow!! Love this podcast!!
I have such a fuller idea of the artistry and collaboration that made Station Eleven so impactful! I’m getting so much more out of watching the show by seeing the passion, respect and trust that was involved in every facet of the show!! I know in the future I’ll have more insight about the full team of creative people make something as beautiful as what I’m watching now. I want to experience working in such a safe and empowering environment!! This podcast is so much richer and deeper than any other ‘after show’ podcast I’ve heard! Standing Ovation from me!!

Loved the book, loving the show even more
Thank you to everyone involved in this production of Station Eleven. I loved learning about the actors collaborating and the production team deciding to produce a real graphic novel rather than just a prop. Kudos.

    Amazing show amazing podcast
What a wonderful affirmation that humans can be beautiful. Thank you.

    amazing podcast for amazing show
i love the insights into the making of the show. and you are asking and answering many of the questions in my head. and good lord, the guests have been so fun to listen to!! the directors, the actors, the production designer! kiss kiss! my only complaint is that each episode is too short, i could listen to so much more!

This podcast helps me understand the show better
I love the interviews and the explanations of what went on behind the scenes in all of these podcasts to station 11. The actors and directors perspective was amazing.

    Masterpiece show, great podcast
This show was a gift, many thanks to everyone who worked it and for sharing their experiences on the podcast, I adore Mackenzie Davis but Matilda Lawler was a true MVP, and 1 more thing, if you were a fan do yourself a favor an watch The Leftovers, anther one of the greatest shows of all time, I can’t believe they pulled it off twice.
  • ggosy
    Episode 7 conversation
For me the visual representation of throat slashing in the play using the shock of bright red ribbons unfurling was horrifyingly beautiful in its abstract depiction of blood flowing and then shortly followed by the death scene and the slow oozing spread of Frank’s life draining from him in reality. Strong and terrifying scene.

Anjelica FINALLY started to pronounce Kirsten correctly and she's SWEARY
First of all the podcasts are way behind the show! It’ll have been over for almost a month by the time they catch up lol. And then there’s Anjelica… I wanna know how it’s possible that Somerville didn’t correct her pronunciation of "Keersten" from "Kursten" the first time it happened? Besides not being willing to pronounce the leading character's name correctly, there’s all of the ridiculous swearing that she apparently feels she needs to do. The insights that Patrick has to offer are valuable, and most of the guests that they have on the show get a chance to say something significant. But seriously Anjelica is the worst!.....Update! OnJanuary 27 podcast, she finally started pronouncing Kiersten’s name correctly. She also toned down how SWEARY she is,But I wonder if this is because Matilda Lawler was on the show? I still can’t believe that Somerville let her go as long as she did with mispronouncing Kiersten’s name!

    Inspiring
One of the most inspiring and thought-provoking podcasts I’ve ever listened over the years. Somerville generously shares the thinking behind his process. As do the various guests. Their creativity, collaboration and humaneness in telling the story is beyond insightful. I feel like I’m in a graduate class on filmmaking as I listen. I could never imagine something like this exists in the business. I’m not a writer or in the industry but wow after listening to this, I wish I was.

Loved the show. Not digging Angelica.
Check out some of the other reviews for a similar take. Angelica is off putting. I have no problem with a candid conversation, but the cussing is distracting. Angelica mispronounced the main characters name for most (all?) of the episodes. I don’t know whether Angelica identifies as queer, but the reference to the people/show/ etc being queer was excessive (and again, distracting.) Whether you think someone can be racist toward white people or not, there are a few phrases/generalizations that are uncomfortable at best (i.e. white girl getting on Angelica’s last black nerves & a joke about cults being something white people like.)

    Logistics
Ironically, logistics really failed in the distribution of the podcast. Episodes of the podcast were not delivered at the right time to match the HBO Max show releases. I’m not sure that I’ll keep listening to this good content just because it seems not relevant when it wasn’t available in a more timely fashion.

    Wish fulfillment at its best!
I wish for this to go from being a limited mini-series into a full blown recurrent HBO series. There is SO much to still explore and unpack here…and with the way the creative editing jumps timelines I think it would be really interesting to continue exploring the dynamics of this story thru these timelines. This new post-pan world is fascinating and every character and actor in it is as well. Bravo.

    Watch the show then listen!
The show is so addicting and now I’m listening to the podcast! Y’all gotta get in on this! I haven’t been this excited for a show since Lost and Carnival. Seriously, go watch this show and listen to the podcast.

    Good but…. Late?
The same day the series finale is released, the station eleven podcast is talking about episode 5.
  • CAB224
    Excellent Companion to the Series
I am absolutely loving the show, and this is a really thoughtful, intellectually stimulating companion to it. It’s a real treat to have the show runner himself participate in every episode. Angelica Jade Bastien is a great critic and clearly spends ample time preparing, asking incisive questions particular to each guest and their role in the series. Really well done and a mode for similar podcasts.
  • He who shall remain nameless
    Angelica is a tough hang
This podcast has some great content in it but Angelica can be a tough hang. Trying to sound relevant with lots of corny cussing and superficial woke signifying. She also never has anything insightful to say. Frequent Angelica response: hmm, definitely. Wish this would come out in sync with the show, too.

The podcasts seem to have disappeared
I enjoyed the few podcasts I listened to. The show is good. I tend to always prefer the original book over the movie/TV version, and the same is true for me with Station Eleven. I think the initial joy of reading of such an engaging book is hard to match.
  • Sarahks
    Why no updates?
It states in the description it will be updates after shows but it is several behind. Would love to listen but can’t because there isn’t content!
  • maddie1145
    Station 11
Angelica’s gratuitous use of cuss words is a distraction that throws off the tone of the show. It would be useful to more closely connect directors insights with an explanation of the plot.
  • PalmTreeMusings
Should have released them more frequently
I wanted to like this podcast, but they should have released two a week and stayed closer to the schedule of the show. There’s only one show episode left, but we’re still waiting on five podcasts

    Request
I’m really loving the show and the podcast. I’m only on the second episode of the podcast, so forgive me if you address this in later episodes, but I’m wondering if you could talk about some of the parallels between the characters and plot of the show and those of the Shakespearean plays that are interwoven in the show. Thanks so much!!!
  • FlaxenBird
    Love it (Kēr-stən)
If you love the HBO series, you'll love this as a companion. I wish episodes came out faster and I wish Angelica pronounced Kirsten correctly, but still giving 5 stars.

    Love the candor
Love the candor of the hosts and guests. I listen on the way to and from work. Simple and beautiful.
  • Kiersten L.
    Say her name correctly
I am so intrigued by the show, and appreciate the podcast! A simple request to coach everyone on the podcast to pronounce “Keer-sten” correctly. (Not Kuhr-sten or Kri-sten) I share her name, and mispronunciation of the vowel sound is totally coachable!

    Lagging
The show is dropping two or three episodes a week, yet the podcast comes out weekly? C'mon, catch up!

    103 episode 4 minute mark
Enjoyed this podcast thoroughly until episode 103 at the 4 minute mark.

So good, but lagging way behind the episode releases
To the monsters, we are the monsters.

    Why so far behind?
Love this show and podcast, but why is it so far behind? Dying for new episodes.
  • Lolo19W
    Catch up please
This is a good podcast. As someone who never read the book it is helping me navigate what’s happening early in the show. However we’re on episode five released on streaming and we’re just now getting episode two covered in the podcast. I’m not gonna keep listening if the show doesn’t catch up
  • Bdub1997
    Great listen
This is the kind of show you want to deep dive into, so I really appreciate the podcast addition
  • Mrs. Jody
Such a compliment to the show
This show is so rich and layered, the podcast is the perfect companion. Agree with others that please catch up to season to be more of a companion podcast to shows as we watch them.
  • ZombieQueenExt
    Why aren’t the episodes current?
I loved the book Station Eleven, and am really enjoying the show. I was excited to see a companion podcast was planned. But so far, I’ve seen 5 episodes and only 2 of the excellent podcast episodes have posted. This super disappointing!! Only 3 stars because of this, but the podcast itself deserves 5.

    This show NEEDS a podcast
I read this novel so I can (sort of) follow along but the show is so confusing my husband was completely baffled. The podcast sheds a lot of light on the story and narrative. Thanks for that. Also, the co-host Angelica contributes mostly inane comments and is trying to be funny in a way that doesn’t suit the podcast…sorry.
  • Roonicas
    Great Podcast, But . . .
Great show. Great podcast. But as of today, there are 5 episodes and only 2 related podcasts. Need to catchup. This point will not be relevant in a month or two.
  • CTC1181
    Unbearable
Angelica is unlistenable. The type of person who says I hate labels but then labels everything. Just a ball of angry judgements. Hard pass
  • morlocke
    More about the story please!
I’m a big fan of show based podcasts. Why? I love digging into the plots, theories, and characters. Unraveling, or reveling in, the mysteries. The first episode spent too much time with actors, producers, directors, praising each other for their skills and talking about the trade. I’m hoping episode two focuses more on the show itself.

    Conflicting Emotions
I had to read the book for a class this semester and loved it!! It a bit annoying having some flashbacks titled and some not, because I can tell they are not taking place in the same year/month as the previous. I don’t really like how Jeevan helps out Kirsten, but I understand why this change was made. He’s in the beginning and end of the novel but no where in between. I like the intro of the Prophet/“prophecy” being in ep. 2 because that was a confusing part in the novel.
  • susansongs
    A lot to process
Having read the book at the beginning of the pandemic and loved it, I was curious. So far so good, although I think some of flashbacks got a bit confusing. Introducing the graphic novel in the first episode just by having Kirsten reading it would have been enough; its origin story could have waited. Casting and effects both good so far, looking forward to seeing how the series develops!
