good respurceThe best!I love listening to Liz and Joey. They deep dive into great topics and have helpful family tips.
-
BeccaDuhStill my favorite podcastEncouraging conversations about real food and real health. In a world of overwhelm, Liz and Joey remind me that pursuing health is simple, attainable, and enjoyable.

ShelbyOMommaThe absolute best!Liz and Joey are so informative, real and raw. I’ve followed Homegrown Education on Instagram for over 2 years now since going down a rabbit hole, and Liz got me started on sourdough and raw milk. My lifestyle changes have healed me in more ways than one. I suffer from endometriosis and was able to have a successful pregnancy, my once unbearable period cramps are now manageable, my chronic sinus infections are non-existent, and my seasonal allergies are very minimal compared to what they used to be. All of this to say, I just love her. 🤍

LdrugichLove Liz and Joey and the guests they bring on!I’ve listened to quite a few episodes but I think one of my favorite ones, is your recent one titled Nordic Parenting. You have to do another episode with her and talk Nordic design, cuisine, and all the other parenting tips she has to offer from her culture. Loved hearing it!
-
LyndsieTEnjoyable and educationalI love listening to this podcast! Liz and Joey are both very knowledgeable and relatable. Just good quality people. They have great guests but I enjoy when it’s just them as well. They inspire me to be and do better!
-
M-ListenerSo informative and entertainingI love this podcast! The hosts are so vulnerable and upfront about what their family is going through and learning. They share what they are improving in their lives and find great experts on a wide variety of health and nutrition topics.
-
Lgreviews28This show is so educational!I enjoy every episode of this show so much and have learned a ton! The last couple of episodes have been very quiet and I haven’t been able to hear well, which is disappointing but I still really enjoy your content.

mamarunner22You’re pregnant????I love this show!!! Thank you so much!!! Is baby number 4 for real???😭❤️ Just wanted to mention the audio on your latest episode was very very quiet compared to other episodes. It was hard to hear clearly what you were saying but other episodes are fine! Thanks so much for everything you’re doing! Love the show! Especially the real food stories from people!!! I’ve always wanted to hear from real people instead of other influencers!

MeaganEDuprasCondescendingIt’s sad that they say they are Christians but are very condescending.
-
CBrug33Really wanted to love it….I’ve listened to several of their episodes and really enjoyed the topics, however I kept getting this smug, holier than thou vibe from both of them. The last episode I listened to was when Liz brought her mother on the show to talk about her food journey. When she got to the part about her health struggles I was so put off by how both of them talked to her Mother. How disrespectful they were, it was shocking really. Her parents weren’t on board with their eating style and so they called a meeting with her Mother and basically told her this is how you’re eating! She’s a grown women, she has to have her own journey and in her own time for it to stick. They are long winded as well, and Joey constantly seems to talk about how much he runs and lifts…okay we get it…move on and let the guest speaker talk.

Becka1123794Great PodcastAs a new mother, learning to feed my growing son and family, this podcast has been interesting and informative! I appreciate the content.
-
Honey&HawthornOn the list of not recommended:It’s hard to get through the episodes. They don’t let guests hardly talk at all. They very much give off a vibe of I’m holier than thou.
-
BrittanyCasIt’s getting better👍If Joey wasn’t part of this podcast I probably wouldn’t listen (altho I love Liz!) I love the dynamic they have together and I feel like they have learned how to ask the right kind of questions to keep the convo clear and moving. Even tho the episodes are long they don’t feel as chatty as the earlier ones were which I appreciate.
-
Madison OvertonMy Favorite PodcastI’ve officially listened to every single episode and couldn’t love this podcast more. Such sound and accurate information that is so approachable. I am always excited to see what you all will talk about and cover next!! Thank you so much for all you guys do!!!

Jaylin1722Ancestral LivingFirst of all… I love this podcast. Joey, thank you for your questions. They are often the exact articulation of my personal questions. Please keep asking them. If fact ask more because confused at times!! Second… I still have so many questions! Question 1: When Craig shared of his Uncles passing from a heart attack, he does not share anything about his Uncles diet or lifestyle. I’d love to hear more about that story as well as Craig’s take on how heart attacks could be prevented. The reason being my husband is slow to accept eating healthy fats. He still believes (slightly) that cholesterol and fat contribute to a higher risk of heart attack or heat disease. My husband has also received a more conventional health education via the Michigan College of Optometry and very afraid of a heart attack. Question 2: When Craig began to explain protein, he started to mention RED meat. Was he about to say that red meat contains more bio available protein?? More protein than white?? A better ratio of fat to protein??

Mksmith512Best podcastI feel like I can relate to every episode you have done. It has truly changed my life. On the brink of lupus with mixed connective tissue disease, overhauling our food and gut has changed the game. Hand eczema is completely gone. I would love to hear an expert on MTHFR as I have a double copy of the C677T and a single copy of A1298C and know this had a lot to do with my gut issues, but everything is so confusing as how to navigate it depending on what copies you have and how many of them are doubled, etc. I also would love to hear an expert on what to do with food aversions when eating nose to tail as somethings make me physically sick trying to ingest them or thinking about it, even though I know it will be beneficial to me. Being O- I have been told that my blood type prefers meat and to avoid veggies, but I have serious meat aversions from childhood. (Still eat it, but cannot even think about putting organ meat in my mouth). Sorry for the long unwanted history, but the context I thought was necessary for what I was asking for. Thank you both for what you’re doing, you’re truly changing lives.

Nora22QGreat podcast!I have learned so much from this podcast and get a lot of inspiration to feed myself and my family better with real food! Worth a listen for sure!

Samanthad2008Changed my life!I love this podcast! It is my favorite podcast and it has changed my life and health. The guests are amazing and Joey and Liz ask great questions! It is so great to have a trusted source on health and wellness.
-
T.SoberFavorite PodcastThis is one of the most important, interesting and educational podcasts I have ever listened to. I have learned so much about health and wellness and I’m truly grateful for the work Liz and Joey do. I highly recommend!

LoveMadeThisSo good!Loved the podcast episode with Lily Nichols. She is such a wealth of knowledge!

NataleesssLike I feel like we’re twinsAs the romance between my husband and I unfolded into a beautiful dance of our two shared passion for natural, nourishing, alternative lifestyle method we blossomed as a power couple. I feel like Joey and Liz are our Ohio copy of ourselves, or rather what we aspire to be! I love this show so much, from their inspiration for using natural dish soap to their fantastic guest, focusing on game meet. They really care about the next generation of the world. Rock superstars, maybe I’ll see you around.
-
ClaireBatsonA Weekly HighlightLiz & Joey don’t play around when it comes to quality content. I am inspired weekly by their discipline to live a life that is purposeful and intentional. Trust isn’t easy to come by these days, and they have gained mine over the years. I appreciate you both and recommend you to everyone who is willing to listen!
-
Chas0170Amazing Podcast!I love this podcast! So much amazing information that truly has helped me change my life!
-
HarvestFCOne of the Best!Absolutely a favorite listen every week. Liz and Joey are intelligent but humble as they seek to encourage and educate, both us and themselves, in real food knowledge. I also love the husband/wife dynamic in the health space because my own husband and I are both passionate about health but in different ways/the knowledge we gain can be more specific to us so it’s always good hearing both of them navigate that as well. Thanks for all yall do!
-
anadorkablegirlWonderful and Informational!Love listening to your show on my commute. I always learn something new! Also, I definitely did not spell Haselmayer right on the first try :)
-
FoeixjtngkeGrateful for you guysThank you for interviewing such incredible, smart and informed experts on these topics we need to know about. Knowing there is no government regulated max level on lead in baby food... I can't understand it. I just hung a command hook today, love them. But they're made by 3M aka Duponte. I'm done purchasing from this company. I'm going to do my research more. Thank you guys so much for your hard and important work!
-
Toey3647GREAT! But…Love this podcast! My only complaint is that I feel like Joey goes on a lot of little rants that make me feel uncomfortable because I get the sense he’s just showing off how much he runs. He really enjoys going into detail on things that may or may not be relevant to the conversation/listener. Not my favorite— but still enjoy the podcast overall. 😊
-
Abigail 906Favorite Podcast! This is my favorite podcast to listen to throughout my busy life schedule! It’s engaging, educating, and entertaining! Liz and Joey do a great job hosting a wide variety of sources in their podcast that help to build a better healthier lifestyle. I have learned so much from this podcast! And I deeply appreciate the hints of Christian morals and life sprinkled into their show as well! Keep it up guys!
-
RaisingGenAlphaI wanted to like this podcast!I agree and am interested in most of their topics. However I struggle to get through an episode. The marital dynamics come through too strong in their communication and stresses me out. If you come from a control based background it could be triggering to listen to. Wish more air time was the guest speakers and I could stick it out.
-
Rachel M MExcellent podcast! The homegrown podcast gives real, practical information on a wide range of topics. Very helpful for this busy mom who likes to listen and learn while doing work around the house. Easy to listen to and motivational. I look forward to each new podcast every week. Wish I would have found them sooner!
-
Catherine925Favorite PodcastI love this show, I listen every week and the conversations are always great! The recent Elkshape interview was enlightening and I immediately sent it to my husband - hunting seems like his next obsessive hobby (in Joey style). But every show is awesome!!
-
The VolksGreat information and perspectivesI have listened to every episode and love it. They do a great job giving the guest the floor to share their story. Love it!
-
livnelsI love this podcastLiz and Joey are such a joy to listen to! I find myself laughing along with them while also getting amazing information. This is hands down one of my favorite podcasts right now. I’ve gotten so much information from them that has enriched my own family’s real food journey. (Specifically baking sourdough and drinking real milk… wow. Life changing.) I truly believe that they are pursuing a God given calling with this podcast and I am so grateful for them. I look forward to each and every episode!
-
Julia Rose PhotographyInformative and easy to listen to!I love first and foremost the information as my family embarks on our real food journey. Secondly, I appreciate the conversational manner in which they conduct the podcast. Very easy and enjoyable to listen and digest. Thank you!
-
Nicole EgenSo real!Never heard a more honest and real convos than on this podcast. Week after week I am educated on the state of the food industry in our country and how to practically apply better ways of living to my own life. Thanks, Liz and Joey! Please don’t ever let this convo die!!
-
monicaa7So informative!Started listening to this podcast a few weeks ago after following them on Instagram and I am binging all the episodes! Always look forward to the new ones to see what topic it will be next!
-
WAPFmomNot for me, but great topics & guestsI like the topics and guests but can rarely get thru more than 15 minutes before I have to turn it off. Liz seems knowledgeable and asks good questions but I find Joey unlistenable. Says a lot of words without moving convo forward. Verbally processing all his thoughts. Sorry, wanted so much to like this podcast!
-
mmdreherLove!!I love listening to this podcast daily and I have learned so much!!! I really appreciate that you guys are doing!
-
redoaksmamaCan be a tough listenI listen for the information but rarely make it through a whole episode because they’re a bit condescending. It would be better if it were more about the information and less about how much they love being “different”
-
girl<3smusicMy Favorite Podcast!I've learned so much from this podcast. The guests they have on, and the topics are so often just the info I was looking for. ( It's also saved me a lot of time. I used to watch videos for inspiration and procrastinate my work. Now I can listen to something inspirational while I work.)
-
Run run run run!Non-experts giving expert advice on health and vaccinesI was looking for an overview of blood glucose, so I listened to their podcast on the topic. It became clear immediately that this woman read a book and then presented herself as authoritative enough to share information about it. I was shocked. She made claims she absolutely could not substantiate in any way. I soon realized that these people are granola, anti-vax types—and it all checked out. Save yourself the time and misinformation, tune into a program with experts who actually understand the science and data behind health-based claims.
-
homesteadinghaleyI love the topics! As someone who is younger (25) and starting a homestead with her husband, I thoroughly enjoy the topics of conversation. I love learning more about traditional eating and a simpler way of living. I also love what both Liz and Joey have to bring the discussion. My husband and I enjoy listening to this podcast together 😊
-
ObsessedLeeSmugToo smug for me!
-
GeorgialikethestateInformative & Down to EarthMy favourite podcast at the moment! Guests and topics and interesting and chock full of information to help me ensure that I’m nourishing and caring for my family to the best of my ability. I do find that in many episodes, Liz’s mic is super quiet and it can be difficult to hear her vs the guest and Joey. But again, wonderful content and empowering information!
-
KaitBrayEnjoy the topics!Enjoy most of their podcasts. Love what Liz has to offer, sometimes Joey gets a little too off topic or interrupts quite a bit. I think I’d enjoy it better if it was just Liz! But I’m thankful for all the info they share and research.
-
austin5121Good and badSome good information overall but a smug tone overall, like their opinion is fact when it’s actually more nuanced. You can interview people without interjecting your opinion with snarky remarks and a hollier than thou attitude. For example the comment about cane sugar and other sweeteners, saying just because cane sugar affects your glucose levels the same as a less processed option then “who cares”, is very hypocritical when all you talk about is getting food from the source. Refined cane sugar is very processed and will affect your overall health differently, say for example in how it affects your gut health and how you may absorb other nutrients. Hypocritical and dangerous message to listeners and a turn off for me. It’s fine to have opinions but don’t present it as fact.
-
susan.maryLearning so much!Love this podcast so much! The guests are incredibly knowledgeable on so many topics and I’m learning something new every week. Although I wish the guests would get more air time… sometimes Joey or Liz will go on a long tangent on a topic we hear in a lot of episodes (like running or USDA organic labels or pesticides having war names) and I’d rather hear the guest speak on the topic they are most knowledgeable about instead. That’s my only critique! I love the messaging about food education brings food freedom. That can apply to so many other aspects of life too!
-
Pod.AddictVery InformativeLiz and Joey do a great job of bringing different guests on the podcast with interesting information. I find the episodes to be informative and thought provoking.
-
RaisingwholefamiliesSo goodNo matter where you are on your real food journey, you will learn something listening to this podcast! Liz and Joey are real and relatable make the information so approachable. I always come away having gleaned something, even on topics I feel I am well informed on.
-
6000thoughtsNot for meHeaded to this podcast to listen to an episode with Shawna Holman from A Little Less Toxic. I enjoy her in all things but this podcast is low quality for me. Recording was bad. Hosts continually talked about themselves and interrupted their guest. Maybe that’s their normal way but if you are like me and don’t enjoy that type of interview steer clear. The husband was down to earth and respectful and asked great questions. The wife gave me a Rachel Hollis vibe and not in a good way. Better than, holier than, elitist, no thank you.
