Best podcast I’ve ever listened to.
Extremely educational. The episode on Ozempic is a real testament to Adam’s skill as a teacher/writer. He breaks down complex subject matter in a very understandable way. A real shame it seems to be over.

    A Breath of Fresh Air
Ragusea has a certain way of communicating that is wholly honest and vulnerable, yet clearly academically informed. The most enjoyable episodes, in my opinion, are the ones centered on subjects other than food(even though that may be the initial draw of the pod). Nothing is more pleasant than listening to a person deep-dive into the details of a subject they find interesting, and I personally would love if he ventured further into the depths of his—generally well rounded—research. I may be alone in this feeling, but I can’t get enough of the rambling solo episodes, and look forward to hearing more.

    Comfy podcast
The most recent episode “comfy content” hits the show, for me, dead center mass. Just love learning from Adam, especially food science. When the wife occasionally guest hosts, their dynamic is perfect and brings more of that familiar comfort

    An Exploratory Guide
I have been deeply curious about Food science, history, politics, etc., for years. It has been difficult to find a community where all such avenues are collected and equally explored - and by a person who can explore them charismatically and in detail. Adam has done that perfectly, and I have found myself to be an obsessive listener and viewer for a long while now. I appreciate him as an educator, an “internet micro-celebrity”, and as a person. By the way, “Vinegar Leg” is on the right.

    Good at Food
Adam does a great job educating laypersons like me on food and food science. I am from a biochem background, and he does good research for himself on that front. Please continue sir, and I will continue to listen and watch.

    Awesome podcast
I’ve been listening it for a while, but I’m rating it now because Adam just released an episode ranking all the Metallica albums. I love metal and food, and apparently so does Adam!

    Intellectual Woke Virtue Signaling
I really enjoy most of your food content, but you have started to bring your status as a white male into conversation on this pod way too often. It’s completely irrelevant most of the time and it just comes across as intellectual woke virtue signaling. If we want to help this country, the best thing we can start doing is to stop talking about each other’s race and treat each other with respect based on our merits and our work ethic. No need to be a race apologist.

    Knowledgeable and Entertaining
I am a fan that started with Adam’s videos and have seen/listened to all of his podcast episodes since he started the Adam Ragusea Pod. His content is very educational while also being entertaining. The amazing one two punch of content creation. Keep it up Adam!

Very enjoyable counterpart to Adam's YouTube channel
I really enjoy the Adam (and sometimes Adam and Lauren) Pod. Adam follows tangents down attention-holding rabbit holes, putting more questions into my head just as he answers them in the next sentence. I do enjoy the candid dialogue between Adam and Lauren, however, when Adam is recording solo I do prefer his more prepared/scripted style of the earlier shows. Anyway, keep up the good work Adam and thanks for podcast!

    👍
Adam is well-spoken and covers topics that are generally interesting (and even when the topic doesn’t interest me it usually ends up entertaining anyway). He’s an open book and offers insights to being a content creator that are fascinating in addition to his food stuff. Also, his ads are just him speaking, which I find so much more palatable than ads that are like radio commercials inserted in the middle of things. Tell your friends so he can keep this up. It’s an excellent addition to my podcast rotation.

    Great cooking channel, great podcast
As is probably the case for most of this show’s audience, I’ve watched Adam’s YouTube channel for years and loved his direct, utilitarian approach to home cooking and his exploration of the history and science of food. If you like the show, I bet you’ll like the pod. And even if you didn’t come here through the show, I still recommend the pod: Adam’s thoughtful, thorough in his research, and has a great voice for radio. The topics he delves into vary a ton thanks to the Q/A format, so if one discussion isn’t grabbing you, I’d wager the next one might.

    Food Philosophy
Long time fan of his YouTube channel. I love especially when he goes scientific. I consider Adam a Food Philosopher because he goes beyond the food, he talks about why food is the way it is, and how industry and society shape the way we perceive food. Great guy. The Punkrock Capitalist
  • Cook9812
    Great show
Absolutely love the show. I love things that get you to think and Adam definitely does this. True he talks about opinions and not just facts but the truly valuable part of that is that even the opinions are based upon facts, or observations. It’s not always about the what but the how and why. Love learning from this guy!
  • mwodatch
    Love the pod!
This podcast takes listeners down rabbit holes that start with food and can end up anywhere. While he isn’t afraid to get into the weeds, Adam’s experience reporting shows with his ability to make complex ideas easily understood.

    So Good!
Every podcast has been so interesting. I like to cook, but I feel like even you didn’t cook you would still enjoy the podcast. I discovered his YouTube channel first searching for recipes and now I’m hooked on both.

Good for all the regular reasons, and some surprising ones.
What I like the most about Adam is how he brings the listener and viewer(started on YouTube) into his kitchen, where he doesn’t just show you good food, but engages you in meaningful conversation. I appreciate how much his personal feelings and worries and reasonings make it into the videos. For lack of a better term, it makes his work feel human. We are not being presented a show, but are offered a seat at his table while he cooks for us. Even sponsors are presented in a way that promotes the item or service without being flashy and forced. The dishes are surprisingly unique, and I love how he isn’t afraid to experiment, both with recipes and diversifying his voice(you’ve got this Adam!). Then, he’ll take what we know and love about food in a whole new direction, examining the science, producers, schemes, or history behind it. No other food channel I know of does this with such regularity, and this podcast, after listening to the first episode, is going to do even more of that. This is the first podcast I’ve ever sunk my teeth into , and while I do like seeing the videoed discussions, I’m sure this is something I will develop an appetite for! Keep dishing out this Fruit for Thought Adam! No questions yet, but I can leave more reviews.

A fun listen, if you like nerding out about food (among other things)
Whether you’re an eater, a cook, or both, there’s a lot of interesting information in this podcast.

    Excellent culinary science/history/casual chatting
I’ve been a fan of Adam’s youtube channel (simply called “Adam Ragusea”), and this is a very good podcast companion to the channel. Adam’s voice is soothing, he generally explains things well and simply, he treats the subject matter respectfully, and his topics rarely fail to fascinate me. Adam, keep up the good work! (Assuming you enjoy it and it doesn’t end up becoming a metaphorical ball and chain)

    Good pod
More chill Adam with lots of behind the scenes commentary. V good. Also, in case you read these Adam, your gentle reminders to it as a pod instead of as an extra video do work sometimes

    I love this podcast.
Found out about Adam years ago from The Greatest Generation podcast (he does their music). Been a big fan of his YouTube channel for a couple years now. However, this podcast is my favorite thing yet from him. Fun, funny and informative. A
  • Why do I need a username
Great podcast, podcast with well researched topics and an interesting host.
I ended up bingeing this podcast on a work trip and enjoyed learning more about the topics in the title as well as more about the host himself. Very interesting man that does he research and cares about what he puts out. Watching Adam's videos on YouTube was a dice roll on if I'd enjoy the content or get frustrated at how cautious he seems to be at stating certain facts or opinions he held. It's very refreshing to hear a more relaxed Adam talk freely about his well informed opinions and speculate on the world around him, not just food related topics. After learning more about the views he holds as a creator, I respect his cautiousness on YouTube.

    A Perfect Podcast (for me)
I’ve been listening since week 1 and have now decided to write a review. I was already a fan of Adam’s science videos. However, I can’t watch a YouTube video while I’m driving. This pod is perfect for that. Basically an hour long chat sesh with Adam while he talks about science, himself, and others. A trifecta of perfect topics to listen to while doing dishes, driving, cooking, etc. Some people find the topics on here to be boring (meh I disagree). I find them deeply thought provoking and sometimes so relatable and accurate to my own niche situation that I drop what I'm doing and just listen. Keep it going Adam! Only recommendation, more guests! Loved the menu episode.
  • Cory Clayton
    Great Podcast
I appreciate Adam’s thoughtful way he approaches life and questions. His insistence that it is okay if my home cooked food isn’t perfect helped a ton. And if Adam is going to name his viewers/listeners I propose the collective name Crumb Dumpsters
  • Parsons87
    Great podcast.
This has quickly become one of my favorite pods. Really happy it comes out on Saturdays - perfect listening for bike rides, mowing the lawn, and other weekend activities. Hooghly recommend!!!
  • Grant-Louis
    Subpar Solo
I don’t think this podcast makes sense or should continue solo - I think it either needs a cohost or consistent guests. Adam has a nice voice and whatnot but it doesn’t make up for the qualities this podcast lacks.
  • loganf!
Lovely new addition to my line up!
Been loving the pod so far. To get one gripe out of the way, I do find myself zoning out a bit during long-form interviews that get a little too deep into something for me. I do really enjoy the Ask Adams. I think those are a great way to give segments of discussion that you can go more in-depth to, but also include a few of in each episode.
  • Dan Weeks 337
    Ragusea always delivers!
No nonsense, no junk science, no body shaming, just pure food facts and life tips from an extremely thoughtful and honest guy. I can’t praise the show enough!
  • Grug Nugget, Phd.
    Good stuff, great things.
Topics are interesting, as always, and he speaks with good diction. This is a great podcast for those who are moderately advanced English language learners. In a video format, having subtitles is helpful, but it’s hard to have subtitles in a podcast while you’re driving to work. Speaking clearly and deliberately can be just as helpful. Thank you!
  • jswizz90
    Always interesting and approachable
Adam’s podcast provides an excellent outlet for him to explore some of his other interests besides strictly food and cooking. He uses data and experts to reinforce his opinions, and he is always entertaining.
  • 0rangelazarus1
Great loose feel to complement highly researched and entertaining videos
I fell in love with the research based, experimental videos. Adam has a down to earth vibe and spends the time to find the how and why. He is very flexible on certain things and is inclusive of all walks of life and entertaining to boot. I compare him to Alton Brown, but even more down to earth and someone who I trust understands the average joes here in the kitchen (like myself) QUESTION: if you could no longer taste (heaven forbid) what foods would you gravitate towards? I have wondered if it would remain the same…
  • DavidLizerbram
Big fan of AR in video and audio format
I love Adam’s YouTube channel, but I’m more of a podcast listener than a YouTube viewer, so I’m happy that this show is up and running. I like the format and the opportunity to dig into the subjects in a bit more depth, and at a more relaxed pace, than a short video allows. Picking up on something Adam said - I love to cook and eat beans, I constantly have a pot going or a container of cooked beans in the fridge, and I enjoy exploring different bean varieties, so I’m here for any bean-related videos (or audio content). Healthy, delicious, environmentally friendly, get with beans, people.
  • MattChrispy
    Adam. Way to fail upward!
Adam’s YouTube content is amazing, compelling, and addictive. I wish I researched critical issues as thoroughly... Meaning do not expect hardline clickybait stuff, rather questions designed to make you reflect, weigh benefits, and even tips you MAY wish to further research or enact. Both the pod and the tube are wonderful.
  • Sarah E-something
    Fictional Foods
I love the looser feel the podcast has, as compared to the scripted show. Episode suggestion: could you do a ‘pod’ on how foods in fictional stories is used for world building? The “oatmeal” in The Matrix, lembas bread from LOTR, the magical candies of Harry Potter and Willy Wonka, and even the shrunken freeze-dried pizza in Back to the Future II, fictional food has been something of a shorthand for establishing the reality of these worlds.
  • IanFromNJ
    Loving Adam’s musings
I’m not that into recipes unless I’m looking for something specific, but I’m always down to listen to Adam’s ideas on cooking, food, or anything else. His guests on the podcast so far have also been interesting, varied, and thoughtful. Adam brings so much nuance to everything he discusses so you truly get to hear different takes on anything from nutrition and knife skills to pronunciation and cultural identity. He’s great at delineating between fact and opinion, and often introduces you to interesting science to explain his reasoning for something while acknowledging the validity of other ways to do or think about things. I’ve been watching Adam’s YouTube videos for a while now ever since discovering him when I was curious about rice and arsenic. I especially love his educational food science/history videos, and this podcast has been a great way to continue learning with him about food and life. I can’t overstate how refreshing and interesting his exhaustively nuanced discussions are. My question for Adam, if you’re still doing these: What do you miss most from the different places you’ve lived? Also what are your favorite ice cream flavors?
  • gotya4545
    So good!
Love the high quality information! I recently finished a course on the addiction psychology, and was disappointed that they didn’t talk about food! I was wondering if you’ve done much research into the psychology of feeding behavior, and how we can use that knowledge to better control our impulses.

    A Little Frustrating
I like Adam’s videos, but I’m not sure about this podcast yet. Production quality is excellent which is no small feat, but I gotta admit I'm a bit turned off by how deliberate and scripted Adam's monologues are. It's like listening to an audiobook, and it just doesn't play well for me. There’s some other teething problems I hope he works out since there’s some very different rules for audio-only versus audio-video content. A couple examples, the second full episode (Olive Face) came up in my feed while I was biking so I didn't have easy access to look at my phone. I was getting very frustrated because the title of the film wasn't mentioned even once until maybe the last 10 minutes of the episode. Every other time it was just "this film". A quick plot synopsis and production summary would be helpful too, since I (and probably many other listeners) aren't familiar with the film at all. One other minor thing, Adam made an "it was *this* big" gesture at one point, which only works on video. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it improves, because there’s interesting topics, good guests, and Adam is great at explaining nuanced subjects and sifting through spin and misinformation.
  • NoNiccnamee
    Great Start
Show is great so far. Interesting topics and well produced. Audio is good but the levels are a bit too sensitive since you can hear a little but if breathing and mouth noise. Cant wait to hear where the podcast goes. Would love to hear topics such as supermarket pastoralism such as described in Michael Polan’s Omnivore’s Dilemma. Also, the semi-related topic of Liziqi’s videos on Youtube for selling fancy Ramen.
