    Very disappointed…
    …there won’t be a Season 3.

    Masterful
This is an amazing compliment to a wonderful show. Absolutely masterful interviews with interesting people. Each story was as inspiring as Julia Child.

    Loved show
Loved the show, the cast, storylines, period sets. Enjoyed the podcast after each show to hear from the creators and people she influenced. It’s a real loss that it is not going to continue. Praying another streaming platform picks it up.

A wonderful podcast for an amazing show!
This podcast just makes the show even better— which is no easy task with such a beautiful show. I love weaving in interviews with chefs. Such insight into a world I don’t know a lot about. Shame on HBO Max for not giving Julia a third season! I’ll miss the show but maybe they can continue the podcast as a deep dive on Julia?

    Cancelled?
Season 2 was such a delight! Character development was deep and memorable. Production values wew huge. How can so much wonderful artistry be met with cancellation? I am bereft…
  • Just questions?
    Conversational?
I do enjoy the synopsis of the episodes and the insight from the actors and staff. There are always tidbits of information that I either missed or is new that adds to a deeper appreciation of the characters and the work that the team puts in. The guests are always answer fully and are quite conversational, however the delivery of the questions tend to be quite stark. The questions, although thoughtful, are delivered as just questions whereas they could be a bit softer and more conversational or even give the appearance of inquisitive or of interest. Regardless, I listen to every episode.

    Another great season!
What a wonderful second season of this terrific show! Kerry Diamond and her weekly guests really add valuable insight and compliment each and every episode. I appreciate the production value which Max affords this show. The plot line of Alice Naman really warms my heart. Brittany Bradford is crushing it. Now THAT is an engagement ring! I truly hope that Max renews it for a third season!!

    Episodes enriched with back stories.
Always a deep dive into the back story of each show and getting to know the creators. So enriching. E3 E2. Expertise, perfectionism and enthusiasm. These are the qualities of all the contributors to Julia. E4 So timely and important to link the topic of birth control 60 years ago to today’s legal crisis. Pointing out through drama that loved ones will meet you where you are is a poignant lesson. Also appreciate Lost Kitchen’s Erin French’s emphasis on simplicity and hospitality. Episode 5 is pure gold. The writer and director describing the challenges of creating the twins story, the praise for Mr. Pierce for his thorough research into the brothers’ relationship and the subtle facial expressions to distinguish Paul from Charlie. Grace Young’s story about Julia’s influence, and her support of Chinatowns during the pandemic. ‘Little bits of good.’ Much talk about moms throughout this episode. Just splendid. Episode 6: David and Fiona are a mutual admiration society. Lovely to hear them lavish praise on cast members and other people in their lives. Jacques contributed to the cache of personal stories about Julia. Episode 7: Alex, Charlie’s grandson coaching Mr. Pierce about the two men and their relationship?! There could be no better expert on all the Childs. Plus his love of history and putting the two White House events in context. Loved the true story of Zephyr, her role with the Johnson family and influence on the making of the Civil Rights legislation. Kerry Diamond and her staff have produced illuminating episodes worthy of this shining example of television at its very best. Kerry also has a very pleasing voice which is no small thing in the world of podcasts.

    Nothing illuminating
A little slow and boring. No real production insights. Nice to listen to but was expecting more. Adding here. The one great thing this week was that you realize how good an actor David Hyde Pierce is because in real life he is absolutely nothing like Paul Child. It was really enlightening to hear his real persona

Sadly Missing The Star of Julia
Sadly Missing The Star of Julia … you need to do a podcast with the brilliant Sarah Lancashire.
  • Diane1948
As delightful as the HBO series!
The podcast certainly expanded my knowledge and appreciation of Julia Child. As Enlightening and entertaining as the series.

    Fantastic addition to the show
Love this podcast. Cari does a great job and the insights are the best.

    Amazing!
I am now officially obsessed with Julia Child! This podcast was a perfect companion to the show. My favorite episodes were with David Hyde Pierce (Fraser fan!) and with Brittany Bradford who brought an often overlooked perspective/storyline of a fully formed African American woman in the 1960s. Growing up in the 80s with all the PBS (way before Nickelodeon!!) chefs I would write down the recipes and attempt to make them at home. Julia Child was a favorite and she will be forever remembered 😊

    Pure delight
I love this show so much. It is a much needed salve to the soul. I am beyond happy that it has been renewed for a second season, there is so much more story to tell. Thank you for bringing her delightful self into my home

A Feast for the Ears (How Cliché!)

    Dishing with Julia
Love, love, loved Kerry Diamond’s interviews on all 8 episodes of the podcast. As an information junkie I’m so glad that there’s more information about Julia and Paul in the podcast that is not reflected in the series. I’ve been raving to anyone that will listen about how great the series is. It does my heart good to watch such an uplifting show. I recognize that the historical figure of Julia it’s just part of the shows magic. The artistry, writing, producing, and directing are the ingredients that make the show unbelievably amazing. And it has created a curiosity that I never realized I had on how to cook and bake a stupendous meal. Of course I’m ecstatic that there will be another season. Tell the HBO executives I applaud their intelligence.

    Love the Insider Take

Lol , until Julie & Julia, I’d never heard of ‘Julia’… grew up on a farm & never considered us ‘foodies’ or my grandmother’s mother & aunts great cooks(they cooked dinner) & Sunday chicken & dumplings to die for… the Saturday pot roast didn’t everyone have that?😝… so I’ve been following Cherry Bomb podcast & now the Companion & THANKS 😊 so much… I didn’t learn to cook til my first husband passed away 2008 …& now… Ina Garten Rachael Ray … dinner is where it’s at … what’s for dinner 🍽… so thank you 🙏 sincerely Ronda Barr

    Underwhelmed
The show is certainly, fine. I just had such high expectations since it’s an HBO official companion piece. I looked forward to my morning walk the day after AJLT and the Gilded Age, because the podcasts were entertaining and informative. The hosts and guests were enthusiastic and passionate and I always learned so much from those, I haven’t picked up any fun facts or Behind the Scenes tidbits in the Julia one. It’s a meh for me.

When do we hear from the STAR?
Enjoying the conversations… but missing the star of the show. Sarah Lancashire is doing a brilliant job. I hope we get to hear from her

    Julia, Ina & Kerry
What a delightful way to spend an hour listening to stories of Julia, laughing with Ina, all put together by the wonderful Kerry Diamond. Just the cherry on top of the sundae given to us by HBO with their terrific show “Julia”.

Such fun for foodies and tv fans

What do Julia,Kerry Diamond and butter
What do Julia Child, Kerry Diamond and butter have in common? Julia always uses it in recipes and Kerry’s voice sounds like it! After discovering her podcast Cherry Bomb I was delighted to not only hear about this new delightful HBOMAX show, but this companion podcast which serves as a nice digestive! Kerry is a great interviewer of the show’s writers , producers, food stylists and others including Ina Garten who share a love of the joyful, iconic and groundbreaking Julia Child.

    Pure delight.
The Absolute best show I have seen , and it’s only released 3 episodes so far!!! This podcast is such a delight because AS you’re watching you wonder about the history that is mentioned, you wonder about the FABULOUS writing- so it’s extraordinary to hear this podcast in companion to this show. I was not surprised at all there there is writers room overlap between Marvelous Mrs Maisel - I said to myself out loud : “I knew it!” When I heard from a writer on the pod . Thank you for making this! 5 stars- wish I could give you more 🙏
  • So Much Calmer Now
    Can’t wait!
Julia Child, Kerry Diamond, and Ina Garten all together! This is going to be amazing!
