    Great storytelling, hateable main character
People like Amanda are the definition of what’s wrong in the world.

    Ads are TOO MUCH.
Interesting story that would’ve probably worked better if told in half the time. And the ads are RIDICULOUS. Each episode begins with 5 minutes of ads. Not great.

    Voice Actress
This poor girl, I am so disgusted with the real “Amanda” that I cannot take her voice!! Even the ad she did for this podcast. She did a REALLY great job though. Well done!

    Disappointing
Overall a frustrating experience with all the confusing time jumps, repeatedly recounting the same story from slightly different perspectives I could barely tell apart, and sooo much filler without truly getting into the juicy details I wanted to know. Felt like they dragged out a 4 episode series to fit 8 so they could fit in as many ads as possible - and they made sure to stuff in tons of those in every episode. Annoyed I spent so much time listening to this, hoping for it to get better.

    Disorganized and jumbled
I listened to the first ep and half of the second. It’s told in a way that’s very disorganized with a lot of ppl that really don’t matter to the story. It’s like having to meet a word count for a research paper so you throw in a bunch of random things.

    Well done!
    Absolutely well done!!

    Advertisements were Obnoxious
Love the story and the presentation. The number of advertisements per episode was so obnoxious. Almost made me stop listening. I would have rather paid to listen ad free.

    People will do anything 😏
So it’s 2024 and I’m just knowing about this story and it’s really sad. I lost a very dear friend to cancer this year and when I think about the pain she endured and the loss that her family and even me as her friend feel I cannot believe that someone who tell such a lie. Cancer is so serious and the loss of life really impact loved ones left behind. This should not be jokes about or treated this way. She is evil and nothing short of it. All the elaborateness and deception to get money which obviously she could get because she is smart. She ruined some many people lives dead and living. She probably ruined other people’s chance of getting donations. I donated to my friend go fund me and to think that this woman took people money under false pretense is beyond belief. That she also used the church and Christianity to do her evil deeds is unbelievable and unacceptable. She should have been given a much longer time. On the other hand I thank team for their persistence and diligence to get to the bottom of this story. I applaud you for your investigative skills and dedication. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

    Amazing
This podcast is absolutely amazing, on so many levels. I typically take a while to make it through series like this as I’m a stay at home mom and listen in the shower, or while cooking. I found myself volunteering to wash dishes and such just to get alone time to be able to listen! So sad I’m on the last bonus episode. Sooo good! Definitely a must listen to!

    Great story
Like everyone else, you sit back and ask “why???”. The only episode I didn’t enjoy was the bonus episode with the teacher, she went on way too long. Would’ve liked Charlie to ask questions and get her responses rather than her diatribe.

    Slow to the game!
Wow recommended by a friend. Got to say this is great reporting and this woman is so sad. Simply can’t figure out the WHY!?

    So many ads
Have never had to deal with five plus ads multiple times during a podcast. There are way too many, it’s incredibly annoying.
  • Wasoby58
Good show but ads were obnoxious
Just like the title said. I know that advertisements are how they’re able to make their money and still make these episodes but no matter how gripping and interesting this show was I was frequently turned off by the bombardment of advertisements weirdly placed right next to each other for minutes at a time.I listen to podcast before that have much better advertisement placement. Other than that though great investigating! Thank you for putting your time into this.

    First podcast and I’m hooked
This was honestly the first podcast I happened upon when searching for a true crime podcast. It made me mad that someone could do such things. 1 episode and I was hooked. Thanks for the bonus episodes as well!!

    Good podcast, but….
I really liked this podcast but the ads were beyond obnoxious. Every episode was like one-third ads!!!!
  • Ohm7403
Could have been one, maybe two, episodes.
Fascinated by the amount of research and effort put in by the investigator/producer. However, the presentation of it dragged on and on, particularly with reactions from the people surrounding Amanda, rather than facts and evidence. Theoretically, you could skip straight to the last episode and get everything you need. But even then, I was left wanting for more details.

    Ads, ads, ads
Great story, very well put together! My biggest complaint is the ads. I understand needing to have income brought in for a podcast but 15-20 minutes worth of ads in a 35-40 minute podcast is a bit ridiculous. Almost half of the podcast is ads.

    Clean house!
Got my whole house cleaned because I couldn’t stop listening to this. Captivating, jaw-dropping, and simply mind boggling how someone could play this act day in and day out for so long. She may not have cancer, but I believe she does have some kind of diagnosis that hasn’t been revealed yet, because she’s definitely sick!
  • Hope is my Middle Name
    Great Podcast
Well done! I’ve also watched further interviews on YouTube. Fascinating. It is inconceivable the time and energy Amanda put into maintaining this fraud. It is apparent she is seriously disturbed; unfortunately her intelligence, personality and looks all help make her believable.
  • Kn0wd0zE
    Its called a space bar!
What’s up with this description? If you don’t even take the time to edit your description why would I waste my time lol
  • Maddiesmom07
That poor teacher that was forced out
I just listened to the bonus episode with the teacher at the school that Amanda was principal. My heart is breaking listening to the pain in her voice. How this fraud can look at herself in the mirror, albeit in a prison mirror, is beyond me.

    Incredible piece of journalism
I enjoyed every bit of it, very captivating, awesome journalism. Best podcast I’ve listened to in a long while, no single ads on it too!!!
  • WHYDOINEEDONE7363728
    Corey Groomed Amanda
Excellent storytelling and extremely captivating. I am listening for a second time. However, I do think the podcast lets Cory off pretty easily… Amanda was a child (17) when she met Corey so, he likely groomed her… then when she gets pregnant the second time there’s no verbal accountability going to him. This is sticking out to me on my second listen

    Binged in 2 days
Incredible journalism and very educating. As a former employee of American Cancer Society, I found it really interesting to learn how funds can be dispersed so freely. C just insane that people like Amanda exist

    The best - well done
Very good podcast, factual focus and analysis! It is so important to understand the behavior and not just get swept up in the story. The insidious and calculating behavior of this person are dangerous. Hopefully, she doesn’t get released from prison. Something is fundamentally wrong with her to continuously repeat this behavior. It is highly shocking that she hadn’t murdered anyone as of yet. She is a serial fraudster and very dangerous narcissist!
  • Jenacg
    Interesting but too long
The story was really shocking gripping and quite interesting but it could have been told in half the episodes. It just dragged on too much with repetitive commentary. I think you could have gotten the story told in way less episodes.
  • MelissaMaday
    Excellent Podcast
This is well researched, well scripted and wonderfully produced. I couldn’t stop listening!
  • Simplysara322
    I’m an Hodgkin’s Lymphoma survivor
This podcast was very well done. The emotions that came out of me listing to this as someone who truly battled this horrible disease. I hear she is in prison trying to fake more medical issues to try and get an early release.
  • Kaswithsass
    Such a good podcast
Love this podcast. This entire story is crazy. And the bonus episodes 😳 so good
  • ginagaliano
    Amazing! So well done!
I thoroughly enjoyed every episode!! I’m just floored at the level of evil this woman went to to destroy so many lives! I can’t imagine what she’ll be concocting once she’s released from prison. She’s the type of person that should never be let out to harm others ever again. Thank you for all the endless hours of work you all put into this to let the public become aware of her. All too often when someone is always being described as very charismatic; eventually the mask drops and a very dangerous narcissist is revealed. No one is safe around these people for they are masters at manipulation and brain washing.
  • Chelshel
    Perfectly done
There is not one negative thing I could say about this podcast. One of the best I’ve listened to!
  • Loveroffam
    Love it
This makes my cry even though I’m on the first episode
  • godisgreat2022
    Very well done
I enjoyed this podcast and wish there were more episodes with interviews with other people she scammed!
  • Jmeza001
I was housed with her in Federal Prison
She still claims she is sick and has many “fake” episodes in prison. I was shocked to hear of the actual crime she committed. She lied about her charges. And continues to deceive people.
  • Strom222
    Amazing story, poorly told
Crazy story to tell and very enthralling. Podcast takes about twice as long as needed to tell the story. We get it, Amanda had a blog.
  • CharliStar
    Repetitive
Like many others have said…this podcast could've been a 2 part series. They podcast repeats segments/stories several times. It’s rather annoying. If you'd like to hear the story without the repetition listen to episode 1 & 7. Episode 7 recaps all the episodes.
  • Mouse_trap
    Redundant and confusing
Incredibly repetitive. This could have been half as long with the content they had. It jumps around too much and doesn't leave you with a very cohesive time line. They needed to clarify and remind us more often who was actually speaking, with so many white women they all sound the same. In 8 episodes I would have liked to have heard more about her back story, and more along the way as to how she was actually pulling this stuff off, the pictures the medications, what were they doing with all that money. They explain some of this in the finale episode but it feels too little too late. And ultimately it left me feeling unsatisfied and a waist of my time.
  • Wren1961
    Awesome!
Great show. I highly recommend listening to this. Really well done. But! My only question is how did Amanda fake the IV infusions? Anyone know?
  • shava lawson
    So repetitive.
So much so, this could have been cut in 1/2. The story is fascinating, but got annoying hearing the same things 2-3 times.
  • Aimeebrand
4 stars for topic but timeline gets confusing
Would probably rate 3.5 but that wasn’t an option. Fascinating story but timeline is all over the place. Wish it would have just streamlined through events from start to finish.
  • Dragon#2012
    Wow!
I was surprised by how much this podcast moved me! It was really well put together and I loved it. This was my first true crime podcast and I'm really impressed. Shoutout to Nancy for taking her down! It's crazy that some people can be so manipulative! She definitely deserves her time in prison but feel really bad for her sons. They don't deserve that.
  • Rick7138
    Needs Editing
    Way too many episodes.
  • Suzy Iv7
    I lived this tale
I had a “friend” who pulled a similar stunt about 18 years ago. Couldn’t believe other people would try the same horrible things I experienced.
  • CubieBabe
    Fine
Really repetitive but fine if ur bored
  • ackorb
    A bit long, but enjoyable
I listened to this last summer and glad to see it’s still getting some traction. It could’ve been summed up in less episodes but if you’re wanting something kind of long, this is great for a road trip. I feel sorry for the lady! Glad to see she was caught. Hope she gets some help.
  • Missykay72
    Crazy!
    Unbelievable story and brilliantly produced
  • 88Strick99
    Great storytelling!
Props to the podcasters telling this story! Very engaging and great job with the dialogue. Easy to follow along and keeps you interested all the way though.
  • Kat. What.
    Wild!
All I could think the entire time: “this is real??? How??” This is so crazy to think allllll these people. It’s amazing how they interview so many people who were impacted by her crazy antics. Such a well put together podcast and such an interesting listen.
  • SG1111eli
    Repetitive
It was a good story. It didn’t need to be so many episodes long. It just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. Also the typewriting sound got really annoying! Otherwise tells a story about a horrible woman.
  • Glitter Gaby
    AMAZING!!
Guys hear this story it’s crazy, killed it in 2 days at work 😂😂
