Amazing show!

Truly gutted to see that this podcast will no longer be in production. It’s one of those rare shows that makes it feel like you’re getting lunch with friends and the topic of conversation is some obscure pop culture thing you’ve never known about. Listening to this show has become a staple part of my morning routine and also when traveling solo. In a podcast world where the same true crime stories are being regurgitated, this brought me joy. Guess I’ll have to re-listen to every episode again until I find something new 🥲

Where is my favorite show?

I have listened to the show since it began. I love Sydney & Matt. They give just the right amount of shade & objectivity. I just saw that the last show was the final episode. This is a lovely, entertaining podcast. It’s just pure gossip and entertainment with two hosts with good banter. I’m baffled by people saying they find the hosts annoying because I find them to be just very normal and their voices are nice tbh. Maybe y’all should calm down a bit

You all never do any research.

You didn’t even mention that Courtney’s father, Hank Harrison, gave interviews and shopped a book around that said Courtney hired El Duche to kill Kurt. You did not mention that Courtney’s mom was a sex therapist who sent Courtney away to a Troubled Teen Industry boarding school. I also think there was a sad crime that happened in Bikini Kill, but it had nothing to do with Courtney or Kathleen. The writer of your podcast needs to do more research on subjects and not generalize out of sloppiness and laziness.

Overall a lot of fun but

I really enjoy this podcast overall, but Sydney has this way of talking where she sounds like sbe’s constantly on the verge of laughter. I’m not sure how else to describe it, but Its super annoying, occasionally need a break from the show because of it.

Do they do any real research?

I found the show entertaining but as I got to the episodes where I was very aware of the drama, it became very obvious they did minimal research. Ex: Holly vs Kendra episode was eye opening. Not even knowing the basics of why Kendra was the sporty one? Instead of knowing she actually played sports it’s referenced because she burps and farts. Like what!? They didn’t know why Holly’s second book was title The Vegas Diaries. Really!? Just soooo much misinformation when it’s all out there. This is ridiculous.

I have never missed an episode, I love this show! It would be amazing to hear one on Nicole and Paris, especially with them being back with their reunion and reflecting on their feud. It would be a fun and timely one!

Interesting but ehhh

Interesting to listen to, but some of the “hot” takes aren’t it. I disagree with a lot of the things they say, often. Sydney is alright, not a fan of Matt. His takes are… not good. It’s just something to listen to if I’m bored, honestly. The best part is the theme song 🤷🏼‍♀️

Scripted

The show comes off slightly inorganic. In the way they speak it as if they have written their script verbatim and reading it word by word without veering off script. At some points it sounded spliced like they were not even in the same room. They just need to loosen up and get a little more goofy chemistry.

Used to love this show

I really liked this show until I started noticing political undertones creeping in… this last episode about Carol Baskin and Joe Exotic, on the heels of the election they kept bringing up Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in 2016. This is an entertainment podcast where listeners come for a lighthearted distraction, most importantly from politics. Disappointed that the hosts can’t focus on the topic and leave that out of it. I won’t be a listener anymore.

Smart funny show

Fun gossipy show - the hosts have great chemistry and I’d love to hear them do a longer, less scripted show about culture where they could loosen up and chat and make each other laugh more. - a LOT of adverts to skip through but other than that, great stuff

Extremely Biased

I thought this was a cool idea but they clearly pick a side before recording and stick to it. I thought the Royals episode was weird… Harry and Meghan step down from their duties/ job and still expect the English taxpayers to pay for private jets for them? And you guys were all upset that the royal family didn’t buy a wreath for Harry… dude can buy his own wreath! Just weird to hear you so defensive over these privileged entitled people.

Obviously I’m a Swiftie

Have you two never been bullied? Maybe you were the bullies…Your Taylor ep was painful. That entire situation gives “you noticed my attitude, but not your actions that caused it”. The bully does not get to decide that the victim is being too dramatic or when they should get over it. While I’ve never experienced a bunch of people tweeting about my demise (you haven’t either), I know what it’s like for someone to spread lies about you and have people believe them, only for them to be disproven long after the damage is done. She can point out how they lied and she didn’t for the rest of her life. None of us get to say that she should just move on. Such a disappointing listen.

Beware the editorial lol

Used to LOVE this podcast until I started listening to episodes where I did have some background info and realized just how heavy they editorialize…. Was fun to get clued into pop culture moments I missed in a very isolated upbringing, but I’d much rather skip the personal/misogynistic/petty grievances and can’t rely on any of it now sadly
