A Fun Device to Discuss Politics
As a fan of both, politics and Star Trek, I think the use of Star Trek as a device to discuss politics is fun and genius. Star Trek’s politics is a model of liberal politics that allows for interesting comparisons and contrasts with current political events. The podcast is helped tremendously by Mary’s and Bob’s extensive knowledge of Star Trek and politics. I miss the show. I hope you guys can be back soon. However, as a Teacher’s Union member, I also appreciate your support for the actors and writers unions.

    Not welcomed either
IDIC my Vulcan butt! Can’t say I appreciate that comment in the first episode. Conservatives can enjoy the show too.

    Kirk Acevedo ROCKS!!!
I have followed both podcasters for a long time so I'm obviously a fan of this collaboration. Just wanted to compliment you on your choice to include Kirk Acevedo-we follow each other on Twitter and he is not only a gifted actor but a fiercely articulate and entertaining advocate for justice and sanity, and an important voice for the Hispanic community in particular!!! These are fascinating and frightening times and podcasts like yours help to infuse credible information and sanity into our society-we need you!!!

    Respect
I just want to say that I really respect Mary and Bob’s decision to go on hiatus from this podcast in solidarity with the writers and actors strike. People doing the right thing shouldn’t be as surprising as this, but with what the world continues to go through these days it is refreshing to see.

    recommendation
If it’s not already being considered, a perfect person to interview sometime would be Wil Wheaton!

    Brilliant
Love this! The concept is superb and long overdue, and Mary and Bob are perfect hosts. Definitely my new favorite podcast. Cannot wait to listen to this for years and years to come.

    Refreshing
I really loved the first episode. Very refreshing to hear Mary get the chance to talk about something NOT her awful uncle. Bob’s a good voice match also to Mary. Loved to hear Terry Malalas. Some subjects he hasn’t been able to cover in other podcasts I’ve heard him in. Cool he’s so close with Todd Stashwich. Liked that he said Todd is not gone for Star Trek Legacy. How though? I heard a cool idea on another Trek related spot. EMH engineer for the newly christened Enterprise E.

    My new favorite thing
So I just moved the Podcast app to my first Home Screen. This podcast is that good. What a tremendous start to have Terry Matalas and Jeri Ryan! So interesting! So entertaining! 🥰🖖

    I’m a Republican.
Guess I’m not welcome. Talk about polarizing.

    Please keep this going!!
Been a fan of Bob (in my mind we are on first name basis) and the courage of Mary for a while. What a great fusion of minds and subject matter. I’m a fan of Star Wars and Star Trek and can’t get enough of the thoughtful commentary and interviews offered by Bob and Mary. The sooner people see that the model Star Trek offers for the future is the only path for advancement, the less pain it will take to get there! Keep this going!! I look forward to every episode…as I do both their regular shows. Give it a try, it’s a must listen.

    Top notch show
I have enjoyed listening to both of them on their own shows. Hearing them chat with fabulous guests and great discussions. Hoping for them to do this for years. It’s a great show run by two awesome people! Wishing you a long run!

Loving this new addition to the Trek Podverse
Thank you Mary for deciding to do this - it’s been a very welcome addition to my regular diet of Trek Pods and helping to remove my irrational fear of embracing my inner nerd. I’m also a fan of politics and your point of view is refreshing!

    Fantastic Maiden Voyage!
Trek Politics nailed its first episode in one of the best ST debuts since the Deep Space Nine pilot. The episode was more Trek behind the scenes and less political, given the extraordinary political insights of the hosts, but I’m sure we will get a good mix of both going forward, with an amazing lineup of guests.

Thank you, thank you, thank you
❤️to both of you—- but to Mary— ever since your books came out, your podcast, and now- this, I’ve been so grateful for your words. I’ve loved Star Trek since my dad would watch it with us during dinner. I’m 70 now— living and working in Japan as a psychologist. Your podcasts (both) are touchstones for me!

I know this will be a great show.
Back in 1984, my best friend and I were roommates while spending a semester studying in London. He was very, very conservative while I was left of center. Add the fact that we were both Political Science majors to the recipe, and you end up with many hours spent debating about politics and philosophy. Sometimes things got rather heated and as we argued to the point of exhaustion, I would suggest that we pivot to something more important. “Okay,” I would offer, “let’s talk about Star Trek.”
