If This Food Could Talk

Food #73

Everything we eat has a story to tell. What does our food say about who we are, where we come from, and about the way we live? How does it help us connect with neighbors and understand foreign cultures? Aside from being delicious, why do we care so much about food? We take a look into the world’s pantry and come back with incredible stories. In each episode, Mediterranean lifestyle expert Claudia Hanna travels the globe to offer savory (and sound-rich) stories of how much food means and has meant to all of us.

Good podcast, just a little heads up
My kids play travel hockey so we’re always in the car and we love podcasts. This is a good family friendly one but we were listening to “Born in the USA” about Chinese food, and the host says Santa isn’t real at the top of the podcast. My 8 y.o daughter got very sad and we had to tell her the host was just joking. Good podcast, definitely give it a listen just maybe skip the very beginning with littles.

Second episode for me and I loved it. It’s an easy listen and contains awesome unexpected details. I loved that she hosted a dinner party in the middle of the episode. Definitely going to check out the website for the recipes discussed.

A look at history through the lens of food. Well-produced, well-written, and well-told. Will never look at food the same way again. Loved it and looking forward to the next episode.

    50% ADs and 50% Content
After listening to the preview for this podcast I was super excited and interested. So I subscribed, but after listening to the first episode I’m unsubscribing. Half of the episode was advertisements. The content was interesting, but the constant ads were very distracting and made it hard for me to stay interested in the information.

    Ice cream
Super fun and interesting historical info about ice cream! I never realized how the old soda fountains looked like a saloon and all the stuff about how ice cream and the military were connected! I look forward to episode number two in two weeks. I hope I can remember to check it out.

    Ice cream!!!
Just loved this first episode, especially the final bit featuring Friendly Ice Cream. It was a favorite of my family too, but with only 3, there were no Jim Dandies. Chocolate marshmallow was my favorite— if I didn’t have a Fribble. Can’t wait for the next episode. Great job, Claudia.
