Lemme Say This

What’s the greatest celebrity notes app apology of all time? Who is Hollywood’s most divorced man? And which society is torturing the poets? Wanna know the answers, but have no time to scour the internet all day? Well, Peyton Dix and Hunter Harris have your back. These two beacons of truth and connoisseurs of mess have been bonded for over a decade, sharing the traumas of a crappy Boston dorm room and a pitiful Brooklyn dating scene. Now, these certified haters and internet carnivores are ready to cut your faves straight to the white meat.

On Wondery’s newest show, Lemme Say This, you’re getting added to Hunter and Peyton’s group chat - a weekly conversation, going all-in on the pop culture news you didn’t realize you cared so much about. These best friends are chronically online so you don’t have to be. There’s nothing too niche or nosey. This is a show for Eras Tour scholars and Love Island obsessives; a safe space for silly questions and doing-too-much addictions. If you want the gossip, they’ve already got the 10-page Canva presentation handy.

A bit hard to follow, lots of overtalking, super fast, seems a bit rushed and undercooked.

wondery please for the love of god fix this record/release schedule
i love these two so much and this has quickly become one of my all time favorite pop culture podcasts BUT i can’t help but notice how these episodes seem to consistently be a full news cycle behind the other pop culture podcasts i listen to every week. my best guess is that the show gets recorded at the end of the week, so by the time the wednesday release comes around the following week all the topics feel like old news since there seems to be about five days between when an episode is recorded and when it’s released. hunter and peyton are brilliant and hilarious pop culture commentators and it feels like it’s really doing them a disservice that i’m hearing their takes on current events basically a full week after i’ve already heard everyone else’s. this show is fantastic but being current is so important when it comes to the topics they cover so wondery i am BEGGING you to be quicker on the turnaround here!!

    I DARE YOU…
…to find a podcast that makes you wish you could text the hosts the entire time you are listening. I’ll wait, actually I won’t. In a world where none of us have space for another podcast, THIS is the one you make space for. You welcome.

This is like the avengers for too-online, pop culture obsessed people
Hunter Harris has been my favorite culture writer for… years? Peyton Dix is literally… culture personified? Not sure why this didn’t exist BEFORE last year but thank you very much because it does now..! Expect to hear things like “my culture is not your costume”, “you’re all gay”, and aspirations for future divorce.

    So bad
Not sure how this manages to be boring and brutally annoying at the same time, but here we are. Peyton comes across as a condescending, ignorant narcissist. Hard pass.

    Your two funniest friends
Love this podcast! Been a longtime reader of Hunter’s writing and fan of Peyton’s work way back to Paper, and they are just as funny on this podcast as they are in their writing. Look forward to this every week for my Wednesday morning park walk - truly feels like you’re catching up on the latest pop culture news with your two funniest friends

    Great Podcast!
This podcast is great if you need a podcast to listen you when, working, cleaning or even trying to fall asleep! It’s perfect for just relaxing and listening! Hunter and Peyton have a great friendship and it makes the podcast even better, but who are these guests ya’ll have on here, the only person I knew was Jojo Siwa…..!? But anyways love the Podcast!! 🎀😍😌💕
  • Melina9230
Amazing podcast! I look forward to it!
If you love Who Weekly this is the perfect podcast for you! I am obsessed I love listening to these two best friends hang out and talk about stuff I care about! I love the theme song and cannot figure out where the song is from?

    It’s Bad
I’m a huge fan of Hunter and a longtime Hung Up subscriber, but this podcast is all wrong and getting worse, not better. The guests feel extraneous, and the tone is really off. In this format, Hunter and Peyton really seem to put themselves and their opinions on a pedestal, and it comes across very condescending. This all feels very thrown together, and the worst part is that prioritizing this seems to have made Hunter’s newsletter an afterthought for the time being.

Love Hunter, not sure this format is right
I love hunter and have grown to love Peyton through this pod too! I’m not sure the format is right— I don’t love the guests. (Who are they lol? Why are they there? Too many people talking at once and I don’t care about a strangers opinion without understanding why I should or how they’re relevant to whatever pop culture topic is assigned them.) I also feel like hunter and Peyton don’t often seem to agree on much, and I get the sense they might not be the best pairing of hosts. Hunter gets lost a bit. Like I said— love them both, but had to stop listening to the pod as I found I slogged thru it and never enjoyed it.

Hilarious podcast - people who say they talk in tweets must just not be familiar with the culture bc this is how people talk… anyway we need you both to drop at least three podcasts a week bc your content is too good for just two! further, petitioning for you to bring on club chalamet and/or normani as a guest please and ty

5 star pod for the chronically online black GGT
Discovered this podcast randomly and LOVE these two. It’s a fun gc type show discussing memes and pop culture. Prob not for you if you’re expecting NPR

Hey there 👋🏻 I’m a new follower and absolutely love your podcast!!! Can’t wait to listen to y’all everyday! 👍🏻😄

    hung up devotee, buuut…
I meeeeean, yeah. I don’t think this is the best medium for hunter’s brilliance. Love her journalism and her newsletter, but it’s only been a handful of podcast episodes and the tone is already feeling tired. Every episode feels like I’m getting memed to death (the boots house down okurrr).

    I will say
Love you ladies, but you lost me with the JoJo Siwa interview. Was hoping LST would grow into a can’t-miss pop culture podcast with more structure and worthwhile commentary, but this latest ep was really lacking substance, and as others have mentioned, it’s started sounding like you’re just reading tweets.
  • smiling eyebrow
    Now I’ve got homework!
Lemme say this - this is the first group chat type podcast I could get into. And the way this show has me jumping to Spotify to listen to Normani, or Netflix to watch the Family Affair movie. 🫡

    Incredible energy and chemistry
Found this ladies through StraightioLab and i was absolutely delighted to learn they have their own podcast. They have magnificent repartee, electric energy, and razor-sharp wit. Listening to them dissect pop culture is a total gift, so blessed to have them introduced to my life!
  • Ryan-Kell
So fun; great takes and chemistry!!
Loving the energy between these two! Takes are fun and always laughing
  • You can’t handle
    Maybe not so…
Don’t say the podcast is “clean” while talking about having sex with a dad and thinking that is appropriate

Are you a Lover or a Hater
Like a reviewer before me said: you two were born to pod. Currently binging through the episodes and I don’t want them to end 😭 I love all the segments in the episodes and I also identify as a Hater. Can’t wait to see this podcast blast off to great success!
  • hm.520
    Lowkey insufferable
I’ve been a fan of both Peyton and Hunter separately for years so I was over the moon that they were starting a podcast. However, this pod is TIRED - the takes are tired, the manner of speaking (exclusively speaking in recycled tweets) is tired, the quality is kind of horrible and, of course, tiring to listen to. I really wanted to like this because I love both of these brilliant women, but I think I’ll have to revisit it later after they’ve refined it some.
  • bizzysteph
    Potential
Love Hunter and excited about this! Their chemistry together is great and I hope they find a groove. Peyton speaks in tweets and it gets old quick, hoping for some more original commentary that doesn’t rely on internet tropes and overused joke structures. Also when talking about pop culture, please explain the situation before giving your takes so we know what we’re talking about!
  • lizc0llins
    God I love this
LOLing at every episode. Been a fan of both gals for a while and it feels like they were born to pod. Can’t wait to listen forever!
  • JessicaWheezy
    Wow. Abrasive to olds.
My bad! It’s made for 20-somethings with vocal fry, yet they said they were too old to listen to Billie Eilish 🤷🏻‍♀️ Got stuck without the ability to change the pod for a while so I really had to give it a shot. Certainly not what I expected from wondery.
  • plntlvr37
    V funny but choppy editing
The abrupt editing is really distracting, feels like they get cut off mid convo!
  • andresar
    Finally girl!
Been waiting for you to make a pod. GIVE US LONGER EPISODES THOUGH PLEASE AND THANKS
  • Anastasia Sunshine
    So Good
I wish it was longer though. Feels like we are hitting a groove and it abruptly stops.

    its abt time
Hunter and Peyton run the internet and now they run thr podcast circuit. Lemme jusr say…. god bless these two gems.
  • justice4anika
Outstanding ,non-stop top of charts podcast!!!
Hunter and Peyton give a magnificent first episode intro to their podcast. They are the ears to the streets , they will give you the juiciest best commentary on the latest things happening in pop culture! And just like a listener asked Liza Minnelli on CNN years back “What is it you’re most grateful for?” And Liza answered in a hysterical laugh “Being Alive!” I too feel grateful for being alive especially living at the same time as Hunter and Peyton. The world is an better place because of them☺️💓💞.

I just can’t believe the people didn’t get this sooner
