donkirk73Very delayed uploads (by several days)This podcast used to be good but now they do all their shows on YouTube first, and they take several days (up to a week) before they upload their shows as a podcast. Basically trying to force you to watch their YouTube shows.

idCatholicGreat StuffLots of good info!

PeeCock?great podcast + youtube showMike singer and Tim Hyde never miss. they bring it each and every episode with no filler. Singer is on top of recruiting and breaks it down like nobody else. Goolsby is great = love his perspectives and his opinions. His no nonsense approach gets right to the point. and Tyler Horka is always answering questions and is up to date with what’s happening. He always delivers.

G'MA 02Hey, HorkaHorka and Sobel - 5 stars

YtfhuuniifdfgMike is complainerI’ve listed to this show for a long time, and while I believe Tim gives great insight, Mike has become unbearable to listen to. He constantly talks down to and patronizes ND fans. Every show he gets on the same soapbox, talking about how dumb all ND fans are and it just takes away from the other great aspects of the show. I understand there are some fans that have knee jerk/unreasonable reactions to news, but it doesn’t mean you have to lump all the rest of us in your tiresome rants. Some people just want unbiased, balanced coverage of ND news. We don’t need to hear about how some message board losers get into your head every week. Mike, if you really hate ND fans that much, then by all means go cover another team.

MatthewPEMostly greatI will still give the show 5 stars because I know the guys work hard at their craft. However, I’m disappointed in all of the explicit language and almost boasting about it. I don’t think Lou would have ever tolerated the show to go this direction. Tim brings it! Mike S needs to let Tim talk, stop interrupting him and acting put out when Tim talks. Sit back and let Tim talk as long as he wants. Also, Mike G gives some very cool perspective and is often right. However, the guy has some anger issues. I do find it entertaining when Mike G snaps at Mike S over being sarcastic or pushing buttons. The show could be much better without talking like you’re in a locker room.
-
stefankulkThere’s a douche among usWhoever Goolsbey is he must have a high ph because he sounds like a douche bag. Rips a writer for speaking in absolutes as if he doesn’t understand the intended meaning then speaks in absolutes in the next comments. What a joke how he treats people who gives the company money. There’s a strong sense of arrogance and I have no idea why.
-
Shane0607DownhillThe show has gone downhill since the days of Lou S. No longer a sports site. More of rumor and gossip.
-
TMayIncSingerMike is getting better and better at podcasting I don’t miss an episode anymore
-
DontstopBLEGANGreat pod 3/1/23Great episode just like many of them that you guys put out there! Enjoyed the banter especially on this episode because it is refreshing that you tackled and discussed tough topics QB transfers, Buchner and Hartman scenarios. Hard to say what will go down but, I appreciate the multiple perspectives and the in depth info you all share. Thanks, Go Irish ☘️

Rsquared221bBest ND Football news & takesDon’t really get some of the bad reviews. Not sure if it’s just homers for some of the other podcast or what. Really enjoy all of the contributors and their interactions with each other. You can tell Mike Singer puts alot of time into his work. What really drew me into Blue and Gold was the Mike Goolsby Show. I always liked him as a player and I told my wife the show had become my group therapy for Notre Dame football. Appreciate Tim Hyde’s insight as well. Great podcasts and I always look forward to a new episode. Keep up the great work B&G!

SingKevinToo much fluff and too little football insightBlue
-
6SPFSlippingNeeds way less Ashton Pollard and way more Mike Goolsby. Getting harder and harder listen.
-
NDFAn11112ND’s version of High School MusicalInexperienced group (especially compared to their direct counterparts) that offer a lot of fluff and click bait along with useless articles and talking pints. Don’t waste your time. Try Irish Illustrated or Irish Breakdown for better content
-
LBI JimNeeds WorkLack of preparation leads to a disorganized presentation. The content is reasonably good and timely, but often gets needlessly off track with silly sidebars. I hope they can tighten it up, Lou’s legacy deserves it. Jersey Shore Jim

mightyQ64Audio is less than stellarThe latest pod with Mike Singer was awful. Clearly he was on a phone - I get that. But it was poor. Do it right or don’t do it. I turned off after 5 mins.

goldendomer2014What are we doingListening to a woman try and discuss mens sports is like fingernails on a chalkboard. We all know every man can’t wait to hear what women think about Notre Dame football. If I want to listen a woman and her opinions, I’ll listen to a podcast about how to cook and clean. When I’m listening to a sports podcast, I want to listen and learn from people who understand the sport.

andfan1Can't listen to Tim HydeTim Hyde is insufferable to listen to. If it wasn't for him, I would listen to the podcast.
-
IrishMI36Great ShowThe more Goolsby the better. Like his perspective as a former big time player.
-
David 00001Steady declineBrian Driscoll is the reason I gave up listening to BGI. Upon his departure I gave this show another go. Unfortunately, it’s just not worth it anymore when there are so many other great ND podcasts. It was a bright spot when Goolsby was not in the past couple of weeks, but his return makes this show not worth it. His arrogant demeanor, lack of substantive insight, and repeated insertion of his own political comments (I listen to stuff like this to get a break from politics) are enough to unsubscribe.

Murph99Good Off-Season Fighting Irish fix.Fun analysis to get you through the off-season.
-
MG826.!&28'sSolidSinger has turned into a pretty good host. Goolsby disappearing is addition by subtraction
-
Columbus DomerThanksAlways great content. Thanks Lou, Mike, and team!!!!

Glenview WedgeCoanOnly one year left. Didn’t play in 2020 therefore no extra year
-
rsvikharPod Like a ChampionAlways informative and entertaining—a must listen for any ND diehard. Love the hosts, guest interviews, and feel.
-
RVN 2171Used to be a Great PodcastI love Goolsby and Lou! Both do a great job breaking down the game for us armchair quarterbacks. With that being said, the nasally sounding host that consistently berates some of the fan’s negative comments is super irritating. I get it—some fans are over the top with their comments, but can you spend less time brow beating them, and more time on breaking down the game?
-
Barbouncer71Don’t listenGoolsby is the worst ,,,, like listening to the drunk guy in the bathroom stall after a game . Poor vocabulary and is all over the place . They miss Brian and Lou . Those 2 were the best together. Goolsby retire please .
-
smcnd1990Goolsby is annoyingLou is a pleasure to listen to. More of him, less of the other.
-
ed_biasSteady Decline in TalentI’ve been a fan of BGI for 5+ years now and haven’t missed an episode since the start of my subscription. Back to the Driskell and Lou days which I know most listeners do not miss. Since then, I’ve noticed a consistent decline in production and content of the podcast. Mike Singer has turned around to be a solid host, Patrick Engel has turned out to be a better hire than expected and Mike Goolsby gives listeners a different look at ND Football having being an ex-domer. With that said, Mike Singer shows no compassion or appreciation for the BGI followers and Goolsby consistently communicates with a sense of entitlement, even more than Bryan Driskell which is hard to imagine. I wish you Lou the best of luck with this group, he’s the only good one left. Most ND fans ask for good podcast recommendations and BGI is officially off my list. Best of luck!
-
alwaysIrishAmateur HourWhat was going on with the 9/10/2020 podcast? Can Lou or Patrick please silence your phone? Beside the constant dinging throughout the podcast and poor sound quality Patrick’s energy level practically put me to sleep while I was listening at the gym. Blue and Gold Illustrated is better than this.
-
MK_Chicago5 star recruit & 5 star podcastGoolsby is a rising star in the podcast game. There’s a reason they call him The Great One. Lou’s ND Football memory is the best in the biz and helps set up Gools nicely. Singer adds solid ad reads and helps to bring Mike back on topic during his hilarious rants.
-
NdbennyboyExcellentI think this team works well together. I think Goolsby has grown into his role really well. Great job guys!
-
Nick_Baker_37-0Way better with Singer and EngelI listened to this podcast all of once before Singer came around because Driskell is a chode. However Singer and Engel are great on the beat and I look forward to more from them and Lou. Really good recruiting insights too if you’re into that kind of thing.
-
BchesanGreatMike Singer has blossomed into a great host. I like Patrick. Lou knows everything. Gool is edgy and I don’t mind that but I could see others getting offended regarding COVID talk. I would agree with the sentiment that Gool is minimizing the virus and it’s effects. Lots of people are dying and it only takes one young person to come in contact with someone who has pre existing conditions for them to be harmed. One death is too many. However, he is one of the main reasons why I listen to this show frequently. He knows his football. Thanks!
-
drandpjWas better before GoolsbyThe balance and listenability of the show is off now that Goolsby is part of it. He needs to play less of a role or not be on. He also needs to not act like he knows more than his co-hosts or all the listeners.
-
spriman 234568Still the bestGoolsby is a nice addition and has the guts to say things nobody else does. Lou solid as always and singer brings it together. Let’s play football!
-
hylkema101Keep it up!The content through all of the COVID stuff has been INCREDIBLY balanced, interesting, and informative.
-
Dillon@1991Mike Goolsby is a meatheadWe’d all love football to return, especially ND football. However, Goolsby’s positions on this podcast are an embarrassment to all of us who share a diploma with him. Stick to football analysis and away from medical and epidemiological assessments.
-
fellowlistenerMike Goolsby and his know it all styleGood job guys...somehow this podcast goes down the road of making statements, opinions, conspiracy(ish) comments and using words like “boycotting.” Just gross, Mike. You sure know it all. Typical statements made by a “me, me, I, I” mentality. It’s college football is more than young players...Players matter, coaching staff and office positions matter. How about we take all those positions in account when speaking about this and not just the young indestructible player. I can keep adding to Mike’s comments...protest and riot wearing pro jerseys? Good grief. Again, gross. Sorry Mike, it’s more than just players and them being the “young” and not dying or going to the hospital. What a statement...”did any of the 47 die?” Let’s look after each other through this process. Let’s lead better and speak with wisdom. Aka let’s think first...what comments and statements are helpful for the whole in this process?
-
pfreyreI use to like this podcast better...But then Mike Goolsby joined. I get a “know-it-all” attitude from him.
-
Lf7264927Really solid showMike Goolsby has made this a 5 star show. Thank God that Driskell is long gone.
-
Notre Dame NatePodcastVery laid back and easy to listen to. Very informational and I always look forward to hearing from them weekly or so.
-
MikeRules99SuggestionThis is an excellent podcast, however I don’t like the pod like a champion part. I give it 5 stars because I love the analysis and it would be perfect if the Pod like a champion part gets removed. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
-
Minecraftplayer#1Good stuffLove the insights! Keep up the good work.
-
CMDNDTechnology could be better! The content is great but the sound quality is not consistent from podcast to podcast.
-
Jw623My favorite podcastLove the cast. Love the info. I can barely hear Lou though.
-
Kenmare FanReally Enjoyed the AnalysisGreat insight and analysis. Gives fresh perspective and a much deeper knowledge of what is occurring in the Notre Dame football program Chemistry is much better
-
GFItillidieLearning and EnjoyingI really appreciate the balance of this podcast. Bryan Driskell is thought of as THE authority when it comes to x’s and o’s in my fan circle. What’s becoming awesome is I’m starting to be able to compare my thoughts on the Louisville game to what Bryan’s was. It makes for a more educated fan when you listen to his point of view. Even if I was a high school d-lineman and nothing more, I love that side of the game and Bryan breaks it down unemotionally, and unapologetically. Lou, in my humble opinion, has a fantastic outlook on a season based on the history of Notre Dame football’s program. For an ND history buff like myself, I find myself learning something new when Lou goes back in time. If you want to become a better fan, void of amateur takes and knee jerk reactions, I encourage you to listen.
-
DynTasticLove the podcast, best ND podcast out there!Brian and Lou know Notre Dane Football like no other people on earth. Glad to have a show go his in depth on ND football. Good show, and Go Irish!!
-
TZLRynoLove the contentMore Lou though please. The other guy talks way too much and thinks he’s a know it all.
