Fun interviews great coverage of the rock metal scene
Eddie always does a solid job. There’s really no one that covered the scene as well and as long.

    Dependable
Eddie is consistent. Good questions. If would be great if he would talk less with lead ups and just ask the questions. Must be a Jersey thing.
  • Willythepitbull
    Eddie is great
The Ace interview was painful to listen to. It really could’ve been edited down to 20-30 minutes tops. I couldn’t even finish the whole interview. Eddie tried to keep Ace on point but it was a lost cause.

Trunk flying the rock n roll flag
Great interviews with hard rock/ metal artists. A good gateway to his Sirius XM faction 103 show and the only reason I pay for it. Thank you Eddie for what you do.
  • NSRider
A little annoying but not bad. Not for everyone.
The interviews are sometimes pretty good, but the constant name dropping, claims that this musician is my best friend, that guy flew me out because he loves me, etc gets a bit tiresome. It’s like he is always trying to convince himself and the musician that he is interviewing, that he is justified and belongs there. If that kind of thing bugs you, you probably won’t enjoy this podcast. It’s a shame, too, because he does interview some interesting people.

    Old Rock Stars are old
If I wanted to listen to a bunch of old geezers catalog their ailments I’d call my parents.

    Eddie trunk rocks
Love this guy. I been listening for years. I could listen to this guy talk about anything. Just very entertaining. Lots of laughs and serious moments. Thanks for the memories bro.

    Full of himself
Same ol guests + an enormous amount of me me me ,my my my ,I I I -oh yeah really top notch podcast- yeah right Old news stories, I don’t know if the rock stars are telling Eddie that he’s the first to be told the stories they are telling but the Decibel Geek podcast usually has the same story 2days before it airs on Eddie’s live broadcast

    Slash
I just went and saw slash with Myles Kennedy and the conspirators, here in Salt Lake City Utah, it was an amazing show. It was so fun to now listen to your podcast with the group talking about the new album and the show after seeing it. Thanks for bringing us such great interviews! your podcast is awesome! Bethany

I can no longer differentiate episodes
As many others have already said you can jump to the 20 minute mark right away to avoid excessive self promotion. A lot of podcasts have sponsors that need mentioning and that is understandable but trunk is full of himself when it gets old quick. RepeatedlyHas the same guests with the same stories. Trunk has made his mark in the rock and metal world for sure. But all things come to an end. We know Paul Stanley doesn’t like you how many more times do I have to hear it? Hopefully things turn around.

The Casey Kasem of Hard Rock and Metal
Unlike a certain show I leave nameless who crow are The Podcast Kings when they are The Podcast Chumps, Eddie Trunk is the real deal. Since discovering him via VH1 Classic he is a real rock music historian and not afraid to call it like he sees it. Eddie is very well schooled on Metal and Hard Rock and interviewed many Rock legends and is not afraid to ask the hard questions that many are too afraid to ask. Love the show Eddie and keep flying the flag for Rock and Metal.

    Keeping rock alive!
I really enjoy Eddie’s interview style. Great conversations and consistently good guests.
  • dickwad mcgillicutty
    Get to the point dude.
Like Eddie and I’m used to him basically thinking he’s a rock star too. My issue is him taking so long to get to the interview. We don’t need a tutorial on how to find you on Sirius. Like Youtubers asking you to “like and subscribe”. We know how the internet works. Now get to the guest!

    Classic
I love questions he asks in his interviews🤘🏻Max Norman was awesome 💪🏻 Oi Oi Oi of Crazy Train trivia! It was beautiful ✊🏻He’s a fan more than a radio personality, the Qs he asks are exactly things I wanna know about that artist or about that period of time. Just listen to his interviews man, he asks about Van Halen, Kiss, Ozzy, UFO,… like fan from some one who he thinks may know about them for example. I salute you Eddie, you don’t need my thanks 🙏🏻 but THANK YOU for what you’re doing 🤘🏻 Sorry for my bad English, it’s not my mother tongue. Big fan from Iran 🙇🏻‍♂️ P.S: he just asked KK about “heavy metal parking lot”!😯! he’s a pure fan of hard rock/heavy metal! Phenomenal 💪🏻

    Unbelievable / gets it
Such an unbelievable show. Eddie gets it. The details of his interviews! Wow! The Jack Douglas interview for an Aerosmith fan…
  • Iñigo_Montoya
Not longer worth it for me
Used to be my go to podcast for years but it has become stale, same guests same old stories, Eddie claiming he “tells it like it is” yet does nothing but tell everyone he loves their last album and it might be their best in years! It’d be much better if he had a conversation with the guests instead of a chronological rundown of their discography or other things that we can all look up in Wikipedia. Eddie is the stories that people want to hear!!
  • GeauxSaints1967
    Disappointed
Sadly, the first 20 or so minutes is an non stop Eddie Trunk commercial. Other rock podcasts are much better.
  • DethmetlPopPop64
    Jealous
Eddie, been listening to your podcast since discovering them thanks to Mo Rocca. And I’m kinda jealous of how well personally you have looked since the That Metal Show days. Keep it up, and keep rocking!

    Heading downhill
Been listening to ET for 10 years now. Sadly his podcast have become a rotating cycle of the same old characters from 1989. Eddie has been passed on by Mitch Lafon in terms of music knowledge. Eddie is still the king of self promotion, just listen to the first 15 minutes of ads on his podcast….

    Thanks Eddie!
I’ve listened to Eddie for years when my work schedule allows. He is truly a joy to listen to. His enthusiasm for music reminds me of a younger me before life took away some of my ability to get giddy over a great song. I love the fact that he doesn’t stray from what he loves to be more “inclusive” of genres that don’t interest him. He never demeans other music but just says it’s not for him and stays away from politics! Thanks so much for that! Listening to banter about his travels or weekend activities is also refreshing. Such a break from all the crap that’s out there. I hope he does his thing at least until I’m taking a dirt nap.
  • Tried but Done 2020
    Disappointed
If he was an advocate for rock and helping it move forward, wouldn’t he be promoting up and coming bands trying to keep rock alive? I appreciate history but history is what your guest are And I agree the talk about yourself is monotonous

    Don’t listen to negative reviews
Please don’t listen to the negative critics calling Trunk names and bashing the way he does his show. Eddie Trunk is someone who has been in the music business in one way or another since the early 80s. Trunk is a true hard rock fan who is extremely knowledgeable about many different bands and has been front row center to some incredible moments in music history. He’s not only a radio personality, but he worked for Megaforce Records and helped get Ace Frehley back in the business a few years after he was out of Kiss. Eddie is a great interviewer and a great force in the rock world. He’s keeping the music us rock fans love alive with his shows and podcasts. There’s a reason why Trunk has the job he has and interviews the best musicians around. If you are a rock fan, this is the show for you.
  • tuotos
    Best of class
I learn so much more from each podcast, which is the best part of Trunk! You can always depend on Eddie to bring something new or unknown to the show. Stay online we need the show.

9m of self-promo before the interview
Holy crap, I’ve seen some blatant self-promotion before but this takes the cake. Eddie trunk this, Eddie truck that, Eddie Trunk did this, that, this, that, all of these things, more of this. I hate to sound like a crybaby but your self promotion is longer than some actual podcasts. Maybe you should consider dialing back the self promo a bit and being strategic about it rather than a double barrel shotgun to the face. I totally get it and respect that you want to get paid for doing this and you want to boost your subscriber levels but frankly, I would guess this drive some people away. What if for example you had a 15 or 30s intro and then you jump right into the interview, 10 minutes later your break for a minute of promo, 15 more minutes of real content, break again for a minute or two of promo. Again I’m not trying to be a crybaby because I want you to succeed. Just trying to help as thoughtful subscriber feedback is useful.
  • SteveOH5150
    Good, but...
I enjoy the show. Difficult to always find full interviews from a lot of these artist. Unfortunately, Eddie spends way too much time on self-promotion and comes across as a bit of a know it all.
  • Matt@THEATL
    Like Eddie And His Stories
While Eddie can be full of himself sometimes, enjoy his relatable stories for any of us who drew a Rush logo on our fifth period folder in 1983. Wish he would branch out sometimes to other bands of the 80's that were important to music. Still, if you like Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, Eddie's Podcast is essential.

    Enjoyed Rik Emmett interview
Sounded like he was not done talking yet when the interview ended but it was great to hear about Rik Emmett and Triumph. Thanks.

    Knowledgeable but whiny
I wonder if he can remind us again that he signed Ace to Megaforce Records.

    Butch Walker interview
Eddie, thank you for having Butch on the show. Long time coming for sure. Please do all you can to make sure he becomes a regular guest of the show. For any of you who have not heard his music, go out there and get it. Marvelous 3 or his solo stuff will be music to your ears. Looking forward to more appearances from Butch so he can tell more stories about Southgang, the music business and the artists he’s producing today.

Thanks Eddie for the great interview with tow of my favorite musician Sammy and Mikey. It’s comfort food during these difficult days. Thanks and keep the great interviews coming!

Eddie is the most loyal and informative reporter/host there is!!! His resume & shows speak for themselves!!

    Love the interviews
The Bruce Dickinson interview was so cool & the Billy Duffy just captivated me. Eddie is so knowledgeable he knows how to keep the interview interesting. Keep it up brother
  • itsPeteski
This is a parody pod, right?
I don't care what people are saying about your hair, I think it looks fine. I have been part of TrunkNation since yesterday and I have never felt this rock hard rock. I am down for the metal award show because 15 minutes of where you can find EddieTrunk (eddietrunk.com) is so metal hard rocking metal. I can hardly hear the speech impediment in these $1200 metal only Megabose™ death canceling headphones. My cousin is from Morris County and he’s hypersalivic, NAM, NAM, NAM! (NAM?) Erlanger, Kentucky dates updates are part of my story, his story, our story and the birth of metal Siriusly XM, do you have a napkin? Spittle Rekords 4eva 💀
  • Turkeynole
    Thank you
Always followed Eddy Trunk. Very knowledgeable and great interviewer. The Metal Show , Podcasts , and his stuff on AXS tv weren’t enough to satisfy so because of him I got xm radio as well. It’s worth it to hear all these great stories and stuff .
  • Honestlyjoel
    Self indulging!
Count how many times he talks about himself in the first 15 minutes of each show. He asks softball questions, repetitive and boring.

    Toto blues
The Steve Lukather interview is a case study in how NOT to conduct an interview. Steve regularly makes mentions of amazing experiences and opens the door to some possibly interesting stuff, but rather than following up, Eddie instead goes out of his way to talk about himself. I used to be a loyal follower of this podcast but it’s become unlistenable. Two minutes of Eddie talking about himself followed by 30 seconds of his guest. It was fun while it lasted. Unsubscribing.
  • Marco marrow
    Ok podcast
Use to listen every episode but lately not so much... I’m a huge rock fan/ heavy metal fan I like the old stuff but some the newer bands coming up are really good and this podcast has a great platform to help younger talent get the word out but nope we are still talking about the same bands over and over again
  • Andre 6979
    Rock ‘n’ roll
Great interview. But he really sounds like Steven Adler from guns and roses. Rock on big fan.
  • Max Vans
Shhhh!!!!. Let the musicians tell it!!
ET tells everything that’s going to be talked about in the interview, sometimes says it twice before the interview starts....at that point, why listen to the interview???? C’mon man!! Great guests though. Love their stories.
  • MJizzle65
    So-so
Eddie gets good guests ~70% of the time and does pretty good interviews. He can come up as a little too sycophant-y. His knowledge of the rock world is fantastic. He spends WAY too much time promoting his appearances. He’s a DJ; who cares what band he’s introducing to the stage? Just give your website and move on. He could spend those extra 10 minutes giving us the latest news about actual stars. He also name-drops more than anyone I’ve ever heard. We get it - you’re friends with a lot of rock stars.
  • Johnny-Mack
    Frustrated
I want to like the show because I like the artists but it is frustrating. Eddie will talk for 5-10 minutes before the interviews and give you all the highlights so that the interviews become a waste of time. A little tease is good but don’t tell me everything. I don’t listen to the radio show that’s why I listen to the podcast. Also when he talks about how his interviews make headlines it makes him sound really arrogant! The interviews and rock news are really good, but the interview spoiling and bragging is enough to make me not want to listen.
  • Steeler5812
    Listen more, talk less
I love the guests and there is no question that Trunk knows his stuff, but man, I wish he would spend less time talking about himself. I’ve felt this for awhile, but listening to the Phil X interview was just brutal. I felt like I could feel Phil’s frustration coming through my speakers as Trunk spent what seemed like several minutes talking about his relationship with Bon Jovi and Jambco. I kept thinking that there would be some relevancy, but no. Everyone who chooses to listen very likely knows Eddie’s history. Please spend more time listening and less talking.
  • Bk2112bk
    Love it!
Wish there were more than 5 star review!!!!!!!
  • Guitarchrist
    Hard to listen
Just goes on and on with self promotion and a lot of wasted time talking about nothing. Many better music interview podcast out there
  • rockisdead2007
    Genuine
Eddie is a genuine rock and roll fan and does the interviews and stories that people want to hear. He is a big part that helps keep the scene alive.
