Why does this not have more reviews?
Wonderful. Thorough. Edifying. Clear. Biblical. Pastoral. A rich and rewarding listen, every time.

    Understandable
Pastor Piper always uses the Bible to help me understand what the verses are saying. He doesn’t make things up on his own that goes back or forward in the Bible to verse. That will explain the one we’re trying to know more about. Thank you for this great thorough explanation of the Bible.

    The “Study in Colossians”
Thank you brother for the way you continue to allow God thru Christ to use you! I am currently a shut-in, but make it a habit to not miss any of your “Look in the Book” series of teachings. Truly a blessing, of Him who loves us, thanks again Bill Stuart (Virginia)

    I Thank God for John!
And I thank God for this study. I love how deep into paragraphs and phrases and words that John does. This feeds my soul and answers questions. Sometimes that I didn’t realize I had :-) may God continue to use John for a long time to come.

    Such a fun podcast!
Whether you’re a Bible nerd or new to Bible study this is a fun interactive podcast that even gives video of the interpreting process. I like how Pastor John develops the context over the book and gives intertextual answers to the questions that arise. Highly recommend!

    Reward
One of the greatest rewards I have received from listening and watching John Piper’s bible studies is learning how to read the Bible. I have been a Christian for many many years, having attended Sunday School and various study sessions. And now I finally have learned HOW to read and study the Bible to better understand what God is wanting me to know about Him. Oh how I wish I had known about John Piper in my younger years.

    No rush.
I love how Pastor John breaks down each passage in each of these podcasts and does it in multiple sessions. There’s no rush to get through anything. I find this method very helpful in learning as I am a visual and hands-on learner. Thank you!!

Learn by doing: study your Bible
As a young man this is a wonderful resource to learn a solid approach to Bible study. I learn not only from the content of his discussions and the applications he brings but also from the way he got there. The way he breaks up the passages, draws lines, emphasizes words, makes connections, handles context, and guilds the focus all exemplify proper Bible study. Some scriptures can be daunting and you don’t know where to start. One of the biggest takes aways is the hermeneutic taught through the passages studied.

    Walk in the Light!
I woke up this morning singing the lyrics to the song : “ Walk in the Light, beautiful light, come where the dew drops of mercy shine bright, shine all around us by day and by night, Jesus the light of the world.” I wept and spoke in my prayer language and then I got out of the bed and went to the kitchen to read and study Gods word. I went to YouTube music to search for the song and this illuminating teaching reminded me so simplistically about walking in the light. I discerned as a believer that I was being guided by the gift of God—teaching by this gentleman. Thank you for sharing this and I also sent it to my Facebook page. Be blessed!

    Great series!
While sometimes I don’t understand Pastor John when he does his Solid Joys devotional, this is a lot clearer when he teaches straight from the Bible. Awesome series!

    Setting the tone.
I find these short little studies perfect for setting the tone of my day. They are short enough I can fit them in first thing in the morning along with my Bible study. Thank you so much John Piper!
