Eddie GinsburgConstitutionalThe Constitution has 27 amendments. This podcast comes the closest to answering the question-What were the arguments that led to some amendments being passed and some not. I wish there was a separate podcast honoring each of these changes. Also why was the 27th amendment allowed to pass in 1992 after being proposed in 1789, yet the Equal Rights Amendment failed because it wasn’t passed in a certain length of time? Thanks for the knowledge

Mmgriff99Lily’s podcasts unpack essential historyI listened to my first Presidential podcast at the suggestion of my 20-something daughter. I then listened to all of the Presidential podcasts. The depth of research and accessible presentation satisfied my curiosity and kept me feeling balanced through the tumultuous last several years. Recently I saw a play about the Constitution which left me very unsatisfied. I remembered that Lily was going to make Constitutional. Again, the depth of research and accessible presentation is outstanding. I now have a real interest and connection with the US Constitution. Great job!!

#babyboomerSo ImportantSo much valuable information for all US citizens to know and others in the world who thrive on knowledge. Have shared this with everyone I know as I’m not sure everyone paid attention in civics/Amer. History classes. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.
-
I knew himThank youMy only regret is that it’s taken me this long to find this fabulous resource of pertinent information. Curious how those who fear CRT might feel if they bothered to open their minds. Curious why THESE landmark cases aren’t taught. They will be now!! Thank you!!
-
muddyriceOne sidedIt was great until the episode of the 2nd amendment then of course Washington Post had to imply that it isn’t necessary anymore
-
kimberoniAwesome, interesting, timeless!!I found Constitutional while listening to Presidential. LOVE it. Listened to every episode while walking my dog!! Thank you.
-
a different stephTimeless!Exactly what I was personally looking for, somebody to help break down the ins and outs of the constitution and policies that I glazed over in history class. It is incredibly well done with beautiful anecdotes and stories and quotes. This podcast is for everybody and everywhere to learn more about American history. I absolutely recommend this!!
-
עבניטOutstanding! An excellent podcast! Telling the story of the US, intertwined with the story of the constitution, the bill of rights and the other 17 amendments. The guests , the production and the host are doing great job. It’s a real pleasure to listen to this. Thank you.

♥️PLove this PodcastI have been both educated, inspired and entertained by your Presidential and Constitutional Podcasts. I would love the verbiage verbatim put into book form. There are many times I want to go and review a specific issue or topic. A little book of each would be a perfect Holiday gift set. Thank you for these podcasts I haven’t stepped into your new ones. Wondery’s History Podcasts has kept me busy. Thank you for your hard work and perseverance. Your work is reaching so many of us! We appreciate you. Phyllis

-
aasmundNot as good as presidential, but still great.
-
astrosjeffGreat combo of educational and entertainingMuch like her previous podcast, “Presidential,” this podcast does a great job of being both educational and entertaining. If you’re looking for a good, accessible primer on the U.S. Constitution, this is it.

cgoldlaudi3Americans need to be educatedThese episodes on the Constitution should be played in every history class in every high school across the United States. We all need to understand the constant struggle of equality. We must become a better nation for all !
-
austinguy1234So wonderfulAnother wonderful Lillian Cunningham/WaPo podcast. My little daughter and I often take drives or walks together when she has trouble sleeping. I enjoy listening to Constitutional during these moments so she can hear strong, confident, intelligent, and passionate females. Role models come from everywhere, so why not LC and her guests.

Usually good with plannersFavorite podcasts! Thanks so much, Lillian Cunningham, for my two favorite podcasts, Presidential and Constitutional! I've learned so much and enjoyed every minute!
-
bbr319SuperbMs. Cunningham has done it again. Her Presidential Podcast series was a masterpiece, and Constitutional is a worthy successor. A must listen for anyone with an interest in the topic.
-
VetinNYCPulitzerLillian deserves a Pulitzer for this series. Very well documented and narrated. I’ve learned a lot. All high school and even college students should listen to these. Extreme Kudos to all who made this possible

aphillipsonGreat podcast!I loved Presidential! I am finally able to listen to constitutional! Keep up the great work!!
-
Bubba_525I tried...Was looking for a podcast for historical understanding of the constitution, its formation, and the people surrounding it. Sadly, the editors of this podcast spend 2/3 of the podcast explaining a topic and then the last 1/3 doing revisionist history as to why something isn’t relevant now or means something different in the 21st century as opposed to when it was written. This could have been a great series if you remove the opinion portion. 2 stars for the factual portions only.
-
Doctor CrackExcellentEngaging and well produced. I have deeply enjoyed each and every episode. Great storytelling. I highly recommend.
-
Stacy32070SmartI feel myself getting smarter with every episode.
-
19CMC48ExceptionalI’m about half way through the series and I feel compelled to post a comment. The series is exceptional in it’s content and very well presented . Guests, both ‘experts’ and first hand witnesses, make each episode compelling and dramatic. When I started listening to the series I expected a fact filled narrative, but there is so much more. This is my second WaPo podcast, first was Presidential, also an excellent podcast. Overall, it is a great series.
-
What Doing?QuestionExcellent dialogue. Is it possible to get a version without the background music playing?
-
EJamesJrCompelling!Beautifully produced and well researched. Each episode took what I thought I knew and just added so much more information and clarity. There are quotes from past presidents, justices and other people of influence that could easily fit the headlines of today. So well done! A gift to anyone who enjoys history.

scared seniorConstitutionalWhat a service for U.S. citizens. My high school students get to listen and discuss episodes on Friday’s as our treat for week. I am learning right along with my students. Thank you, Dr. GC Appreciate the Constitutional podcast. Has energized me to get more creative for our Friday treat of listening and discussing the episode. Has given me many more ideas on how to make the episode a real lesson plan and hopefully will help my students learn more about our government. Students are much more involved in class. We are learning together. How refreshing for a long time high school teacher to get motivated again. Thankful for you all. Dr. GC One of my students has been very excited about our Friday listening, discussion. This is exciting for us as student was looking for opportunity to be courageous in public speaking. Her suggestion is that hopefully there will be podcasts on Amendments to US Constitution. Now we are doing on line learning. Hopefully my students continue to listen, discuss together these interesting podcasts. Thankful, Dr. GC

AddictedindcConcise and CompellingI started listening to this after listening to Presidential. I am extremely impressed with these podcasts and the perspectives that Lillian incorporates.
-
Kazoo_CortseyListen and Re-listen as NeededI came to this podcast after completing Presidential and was intrigued with the idea of a deeper dive into the backstory, the faces and names of those behind our country’s most amazing document. I count myself as an American history buff but had never taken a deeper look at the amendments and why we needed them so. This should be on the list for every civics class! Thank you!
-
rusty6789Great information in a fun packageWe loved Presidential and Constitutional was amazing. My 7th grader who is studying the Constitution is obsessed and has been using it to help him study. We love it and would love to have you do one on the Judiciary or some of the influential cabinet members over the years.
-
JHCK21Simply the bestLillian rocks.
-
mcl mloGreat way of getting educated on the Amendments!Lillian really hit another home run. Better production value (solid mix and great music) made the whole run of episodes fly by! Such a well of knowledge for America’s history :)
-
librarylady87Complete drivelBetty Koed needs to go back and learn basic civics. Why they reached out to her for comment is insane!
-
for_the_wynneExcellent History PodcastI’ve been recommending this to anyone who will listen to me! I geek out for anything history related but I was specifically looking for history and information on the American constitution. This podcast was so great, it breaks down the constitution and brings in relatable stories and constitutional law. If you are an average Jane like me and looking for a detailed, interesting, and relatable podcast you’ll love this. Lillian Cunningham did and excellent job with this podcast, as well as her other podcast ‘Presidential’ (if you haven’t listened to that one I highly recommend it as well!) and I will be keeping an eye out and listening to any future podcasts she does.
-

GiorgosTheodorakisVocal FryI’m very interested, but the sound of the narrator’s voice, the frequent vocal fry, makes it a chore to continue. Either male or female, the narrator whose voice fries turns off my musician’s ear. The vocal tradition is an aural tradition, and the quality of sound is intrinsic to the quality of the narrative experience. The pinched voice—male or female—detracts. Sorry, I’m out.
-
Dusie B.HelloVery interesting and well researched. You put an enormous amount of information in a very brief time. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is the use of some idiomatic expressions that are common to this generation but maybe not to those of us older citizens. Maybe a bit more professional ??? I know, fussy, fussy lady. I’m the mom/grand mom who sends texts and letters back with corrected grammar and punctuation so don’t take my criticism too seriously. I’m 80 yrs old and my father was born in 1892 so I’ve lived through much of our American history. Keep up your good work.
-
Areal personTerrible music under narrativeI want to listen but find the music too loud and distracting, not to mention hectic and annoying. Sounds like an acid trip at an Italian carnival. The research and delivery of information is well done, but that chaotic trip, midi sounding, audio assault is just awful.
-
wayfarer313First-rateFantastic stories about our rights and freedoms. The host is a thoughtful, empathetic storyteller who really builds a bond with the audience.
-
AesimpGood story telling with a left leanIt’s from WaPo so you have to expect a left leaning view. This would be great if there was strong points of view from both side on are most debated topics. Sadly no
-
IncredappleA most delightful podcast! Thanks, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Constitutional podcast series. Eye-opening and strongly motivating. I’m now listening to Presidential. So far, Truman is my favorite. He never charged for speeches because that would demean the office of the presidency. Who’d have thought? We need another leader like that.
-
Nicole T-HThanks Lilian!I, too, started with Presidential and was hooked (to my surprise). Lilian Cunningham has a great talent for story telling and choosing great people to interview. Her work clearly comes from her heart. Her only agenda, it seems, is to offer a podcast that’s insightful, meaningful and honest. I am looking forward to her next project!
