There become a lot of podcasts that recap current cases, but Rise N’ Crime is less like a sterile news cast and more like coffee with a friend. It’s my first choice.

as a lifelong floridian myself, who has not had the privilege of spending "300 days a year" on the water, on and off boats like big baby brock here...even I know that one of the biggest DONT's of boating and water transport = never trespass onto someone's boat. the implications of disrespect accompany such an intense safety risk that i can't imagine the fear that young kid felt. being on the water is already such a vulnerable position to be in, even without the threat of some modern day wannabe pirate captain (cap. jack sparrow would never). Thanks for all you do, much love from sunny, salacious FL ☀️

I absolutely adore. Oh no Media Rise N’ Crime is one of my absolute favorites. Love you, mama Jules! obviously I found you through your daughter Murder With My Husband.!!!!!!! I am an absolute fan of anything a true crime and I absolutely adore your podcast. I don’t know what I would do without you first thing in the mornings.

I felt the need to write a real review, because some of these reviews are just plain ridiculous. First, the “Mama Jules” moniker is perfect. This is MWMH’s sister show. Payton is the Wife, Garrett is the Husband… and Jules is the Mama. “Unprofessional” how? She is essentially a Radio Show host, and the name is catchy, even comforting when it comes to the heaviness of this show. Mama Jules is everyone’s True Crime Mama, looking out for us and keeping us informed. Get over yourself. Second, pronunciation. Just because someone pronounces something differently doesn’t make them unintelligent/uneducated. It’s all about where you’re from and how the people around you say things. It says more about you when you can’t get past someone who speaks differently than you, and just enjoy the show and all the effort she’s putting into this. Rude. Third, I literally learned from Mama Jules about how unstable the relationship between Native Americans and the police is.. because she talks about it, in detail, literally all the time. You probably watched exactly one episode and immediately ran here with angry fingers. You can’t just go off into Keyboard Warrior mode when you’re plain wrong. Gather all the info first. Lastly, you can’t decide someone’s entire view on politics based on one sentence. And it’s none of our business what her political views are. She isn’t a political commentator, nor is she blatantly advocating for Israel. Yes, the genocide that is currently happening is horrific, but Mama never said anything that implies she’s pro-genocide. In fact, in this current internet climate, I’m sure she knows saying anything of the sort would actually be Podcast Su!c!de. Never assume. Thank you Mama Jules for everything you do! I don’t know of any other show like this. You keep us informed on literally everything in current True Crime, and it’s clear how much time and effort goes into all this research. I really hope this show gets so much more of the attention it deserves!

I love all the updates on this show and the way she delivers the various stories across the country or world that need attention. My only complaint is the podcasts episodes will sometimes come out hours before the YouTube episodes and there may be videos in the update that are essential and can be a little frustrating to wait to see hours later. Again, this show is amazing and all the updates are super informative and educational!!

3/2025 update: at your age, you should know the difference between weary and wary. Please open a dictionary. 9/30/2024 update: so the show is supposed to be on Monday and Thursday. Well suddenly they decide to change it to Tuesday and Friday and forget to tell their audience nice. Now down to three stars. 12/14/2023 update: In this episode the host states that the killer came in and deleted her “computer memory“ and then left. Deleting memory is simply to turn off your PC. I think you meant he deleted the data off her hard drive, which is a completely different thing. Bone up on it. Now down to four stars. Original review: The name “mama Jules” is seriously unprofessional and really just kind of ruins this otherwise perfect podcast for me. Staying at four stars

As a long time listener, I have to say I’m really disappointed with the way you tried to subtly add your view on Palestine. “I love my listeners from Israel…” … Do you not know that this is an oppressive regime that k*lls innocent people?? I’ll find someone else to catch up on my True Crime with. Thanks Mama Jules!

On Monday 3/17's episode you made a comment: “And I don't know what the constant conflict is between law enforcement and Native Americans. It just doesn't seem to function correctly.” Seriously? Just look up residential schools (who do you think rounded them up) and how many mmiw cases have been solved or even looked into? That's your answer, police don't care about indigenous people so why would they EVER trust them. Also I find your comment regarding listeners from all over a little off. There's a bunch of countries and you chose to state Israel specifically during a time when they're committing an atrocious genocide.

I’ve been a regular listener for a bit but had to come give you your stars after hearing you say “don’t come for me!” while honoring people’s pronouns!!!! Mama Jules gets it. Love how she describes some complex cases slowly and patiently. Always with empathy.

I don’t do the rise so much- but on Tuesday and Thursday I listen in bed before I start the day. I like how you do headlines and stories I haven’t heard. It’s a nice compact podcast- and btw, I think your voice is great Mama Jules 💎♦️

Complaint. Why is Thursdays (1/16) episode stuck behind a paywall?!? Update. The comment section is lame and adds nothing. I enjoy the premise of the show, but it’s Rise N’ Crime like it’s supposed to be morning show with your coffee however the episodes are never available in the morning. I listen when I get ready for work. MWMH from Oh No Media episodes are available in the morning but not the “morning themed” show. Little frustrating.

I love this show and I’ve never written a review but I was disappointed with the way someone’s sexual orientation was mentioned. If the story about the gay couple was the same as your other cases, you would be mentioning the sexual orientation of every couple you report about. If you’re going to say “gay couple” then you should probably say “straight couple” on the other stories.

I love listening to Mama Jules! She treats these crimes with dignity and there’s no salaciousness. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I was impressed by the way she talked about a gay couple that molested their own adopted kids. She didn’t make it a gay thing—she made it a thing about a messed up couple who shouldn’t be enjoying freedom and should be as far from children as possible. Thanks for knowing the difference, Mama Jules! Mama Jules, you do an amazing job and you raised Payton to be an endearing and accomplished person herself . . . And I guess Garrett isn’t so bad either 😉

I feel like this show is slowly falling apart. It feels like Mama Jules heart isn’t in it 100% anymore. The show is called Rise and Crime yet it never comes out on time anymore. At least address the issue or change the days of the week?

I love true crime podcasts, but they usually cover cases that are well into the past. This podcast covers things that are recent or currently happening. Love Mama Jules. Keep up the great work!

Give Alaska Daily a watch— it’s a great show that should not have been canceled. These are the shows people NEED to watch.

I love the podcast setup but the mispronunciation of words (same as in MWMH) is like nails on a chalk board. Colleen is not pronounced Cole-leen. It may be a regional dialect but some words are just not even close.

I have stumbled on this show while listening to "murder with my husband" and I LOVE IT ALL! It was hard for my to find a podcast I like but I love these rise n crime I can't believe I sent fine this before and I tell everyone about oh no media, u are amazing mama!

Mama Jules does an amazing job talking about current events going on around the globe. Majority of the time she’s covering cases I haven’t even heard of happening in real time! I absolutely love this podcast, and appreciate the research that goes into each case. Mama Jules is respectful and always reports on her findings in an eloquent and professional way. The two a week episode drop is a dream! As I could listen to this show daily. Thanks for all you do!

I swear 90% of the stories are out of Utah or Idaho, making the host seem a little biased. I have a hard time believing the biggest news stories only occur in these two states. 🤷🏻‍♀️
